Paris sat at his deck and worked quietly on his computer, doing what he normally did at work. His telemarketing. He dialed a number and someone had picked up the phone.

"Hello miss Tamala, I work for the Neslanders Association for Clean energy and I was wondering if I could have a few moments of your time?" She hung up instantly. "As expected," he said through grit teeth. He dialed another number and repeated the sentence and this time he actually was able to speak with the persons. And he wished he hadn't. They went on and on about some kid they knew tossing trash onto the side of the street and how people need to crack down on that then spoke about her children and grandchildren and just using a bunch of his time. Not to be mean of course but he had a job to do. She finally said bye and he hung up and sighed.

Just then a small paper air plane flew its way over to his desk and hit him in the head lightly. He grabbed the paper and opened it up.

"Are you busy?" Paris chuckled and looked around. He was met with the big puppy dog eyes of his friend Ela, One of the Terran people that lived in the city. She was an anthropomorphic wolf with grey fur and a very bushy tail. Like seriously. It was a nice tail. She wore a grey shirt that almost blended with her fur and had blue jeans with a necklace that showed a growling wolf. Paris chuckled and wrote down something on the paper. He tossed it over to her and watched the paper gently glide over through the air and to Ela's desk where she smiled and caught the paper. She opened it and saw the simple word...

"Yes." She frowned and looked at Paris who chuckled at his desk. Just then one of the pencils he had in a cup lifted out of its place and was tossed at his head. He was shocked and looked at Ela who acted as if she was perfectly innocent but her ears were curved inward like a devil's horns and she struggled to hold in a laugh. Magic. Ela was pretty damn good at it. Being Terras she naturally was. He grabbed a small piece of paper and scribbled something down on it before folding it into a crude paper airplane and tossing it Ela's way. Without looking up from her work, she caught the paper and unfolded it.

"Mental conversation." She smiled with her tail wagging excitedly behind her and her eyes glowed briefly as she began to communicate telepathically with Paris across the room.

"Hello Human," she said mockingly. Paris chuckled and said hello back. " Got plans to do anything after work today?" She asked happily.

"Can't say I am honestly. Might just hangout at home with Linda," He said writing down notes in his notebook. Ela made a snoring noise.

"Boring! You need some excitement in your life dude. Come with me to the new bar downtown. It's some new place called 'The Phase'. I hear they serve Terras and Humans." Paris frowned.

"Do you honestly believe that?"

"No but it doesn't hurt to at least check it out." Ela began to grin maliciously. "What's the matter big guy? Ya scared?" Paris scoffed.

"How old do you think I am?"

"I don't know. 4? You could have fooled me with how cautiously you handle your life." Ela laughed and mentally nudged Paris who frowned and shunned her.

"When you're married you have to handle your life cautiously."

"And that's why I will never get married."

"Yeah. That's why," Paris groaned. He almost hung up on her mentally before she used her magical power to levitate the pencils he held in a cup and constantly poke him with them saying "Come to the bar with me! Come to the bar with me!" over and over until he surrendered. He couldn't help but laugh before finally giving in to her demands and agreed to go.

"Alright alright! We can go. But on one condition..."

"Ah damn it."

"No magic! None whatsoever! We can't have a repeat of what happened last time we went to a bar."

"You would think with all the advancement in technology and Magic users that run rampant they would make things like fire proof buildings. Seriously." Ela sighed. The last time they went out to a bar together, Ela got a little too excited and started showing off her magical prowess, particularly fire spells. Naturally fire and alcohol don't mix well together and she accidentally set the building on fire. She got quite the infamous reputation for that. Ela agreed nonetheless and in response she ran all the over to Paris' desk and hugged him tightly. He hugged her back and she went back to her desk to spend the rest of the day working until that clock hit 5.

Hours later when the office was closing, jobs were done and people were leaving, Paris and Ela were one of the first people to leave the building and were met with intense rain of the outside. There was scarcely anyone outside and those that were there seemed to be running quite quickly through the rain to wherever their destination was. Ela bit her lip and growled.

"I love it when it rains," she said zipping up her black jacket and pulling the hood on, jumping in place and smiling. "It's always so dang peaceful when it rains. Reminds me of the times on the other side of the wall..." Ela walked outside and began to think about her childhood. Running through the forest of the Promised Land, her precious home, and falling asleep to the beautiful and soft flowing of the waters from the sky high above to the hard dirt and soil of the earth, softening it up and giving a delighted tingle to the small feelings on her feet. She stepped out of the building and pulled her hood off and closed her eyes to feel the warm wetness of the waters that soaked her fur on her face within seconds. Her heart raced and her breathing increased and everything that was around her seemed to fade away out of existence for these brief few seconds. She inhaled then exhaled and finally came back to Earth.

Paris simply watched and smiled. Seeing others happy made him happy and he didn't mind waiting for Ela to awake from her pleasant daydream. When she did, she came back inside and shook herself somewhat dry before looking at Paris with what seemed more like teary eyes rather than simple raindrops.

"Ready to go?" she asked smiling.

"Yep. Let's go." Paris followed Ela outside and opened the umbrella he carried with him as they walked through the wet city of Haven. There were several people walking around in the rain. Some seemed unprepared and practically sprinted to the nearest building while others took their time, getting soaked in the process.

The city was beautiful. Tall green trees adorned the sidewalks looking far healthier than anything you may have ever seen. The city buildings were massive skyscrapers, some were houses for people while others were big businesses and corporations. The city looked new and sleek, stylish and futuristic and much good was done with the advancements of technology and magic helping keep things clean and stable. However when cities look nice on the outside, it's usually to hide how terrible they are on the inside. And this city was indeed pretty dark. Haven was one of the first places to allow Terran-Human relations however this didn't go over well with certain humans and even some Terrans. There were some attacks back and forth from the races that resulted in a civil war in the city itself. Times were finally ended when the leader of the Terrans and the President of the United Colonies. These two men had immense hatred for one another but agreed to have peace and work together for the betterment of all people. Not just their respective races. Times got a little better but not a lot. People always fear what they don't understand.

Ela closed her eyes and rubbed her wet hands together, breathing into them and wiggling her finger.

"Hocus Pocus! Abracadabra!" She said raising her hands. Nothing happened yet Paris looked around excitedly as if waiting for something to happen.

"Does that actually work?" He asked excitedly. Ela laughed and looked at him with teary eyes of joy.

"Nah. I'm just messing with ya," she said before clapping her hands together and truly drawing forth magic. A thin pale smoke came from her palms as she raised them to the sky and exhaled, speaking in an amazing otherworldly tongue that Paris didn't recognize. When she finished, she opened her eyes and the water droplets around them paused in mid air yet it was only around them. Outside of this space rain fell just as normal as ever and could still be heard hitting the pavement beneath their feet however the raindrops close to them stood still as if pausing in time. Paris closed his umbrella and shook the raindrops off and they two froze in space when knocked into the air. Ela's green eyes glowed beautifully and a happy smile formed on her face. Paris poked one of the raindrops and it simply was nudged away from him, lightly floating towards Ela.

"Sorry. Just wanted to get some magic out of my system before we get to the bar." She spoke softly and closed her hands and eyes, the rain around them slowly returning to their natural state and falling to the pavement. Paris smiled and pet his friend on the head.

"I forgive you." She chuckled and swatted his hand away and the two walked the rest of the way to the bar. Once they arrived the very first scent they got was alcohol. Something that was expected of course but there was a different scent in the air as well that was sickening. All the men there seemed more than a little inebriated and the bartenders even seemed to be drinkin. Not a single Terran was anywhere to be seen. When the two walked in, Everyone looked at them with less than happy faces. Or rather... They looked at Ela with less than happy faces. She looked back at them and though a smile remained on her face, a faint glow of green began to appear in her eyes, Paris nudged her side and Ela looked at him with a look that said "I'm okay" but it was like she herself didn't believe it.

They walked up to a bartender, a man with long red hair a red beard to match, and asked for the usual. The tension in the room faded when everyone got some alcohol in their system and even Ela seemed happier. She had an idea that she knew Paris couldn't resist.

"Hey. I got an idea for a game. It's super simple." Paris looked at her quizzically.

"What're you plannin', Mm?"

"Nothin'" she said trying to hide her giggling. Her ears were turned inward looking like devil's horns. She was planning something.

"Alright I'll go along with this. Better not be anything crazy."

"Of course not. It's me we're talking about."

"I know," Paris said taking a sip of his drink. Ela grinned deviously and looked Paris in the eyes as well as she could.

"Alright it goes like this: I ask you a question and you have two choices; Answer truthfully or take a drink. If you're mug is empty, you lose." Paris' eyes widened. He looked at his mug and it was half empty while Ela's was full. It was nearly gone a moment ago.

"Magic! Not fair!" Ela rolled her eyes and leaned forward.

"What's the matter pretty boy? Too scared?"

"No. Just don't wanna be... *Hic*... Don't wanna be tricked."

"Such a pussy cat."

"I am not!"

"You are too."

"Are not!"

"Prove me wrong then." She crossed her legs and her tail wagged voraciously behind her. Paris frowned.

"Fine. Wanna play that game? Let's do it." Ela laughed.

"That's the spirit pretty boy. Such fun to be had. Now since I got you into this game, You ask me first." Paris hiccuped and thought of a question he thought was good.

"Have you ever...... Have you ever crashed a car before?" Ela laughed.

"That all ya got pretty boy? Ha! Hell yeah I have." She rested her tail in her lap and stroked it lightly. "My turn..." Paris frowned and looked around the bar, noticing some people looking their way. He didn't think much about it though.

"Ever done anal before?" Paris' heart nearly leapt out of his chest as he looked at Ela with absolute shock.

"What?"

"You heard me." Ela looked at him very intently, as if analyzing everything about him. Her eyes lingered a little too long around the crotch of his pants however...

"I don't know if I'm comfortable sharing-"

"Oh so you're gonna chicken out huh? Play it safe and take a drink?" Paris frowned.

"Don't bait me like that."

"I was just thinking that, ya know, if you were man enough you would answer quickly."

"This is why I don't hang out with you anymore. You always trick me. And it works." Paris sighed and finally answered. "Yes! Okay! I've done it before!" Ela was surprised.

"No scruffing way! Seriously? You?" Paris was one of the most old fashioned she had ever met in her life. "Whose idea was it?" Paris was blushing immensely.

"Mine..."

"Ha ha ha ha ha! No way!" Ela couldn't stop laughing. Paris finally shut her up by slapping her thigh.

"You wanna play that way huh? Okay my turn then." He cleared his throat and looked her in the eyes.

"You ever use magic to score with someone?" She was slightly surprised by this. She took a drink from her mug and Paris laughed.

"Now who's the pussy."

"We will see cause it's my turn now." Ela stroked her tail and her left ear twitched twice. What this meant Paris didn't know.

"You ever find another woman attractive other than your wife?" Paris thought for a bit on whether he should disclose this. I mean it was Ela, she was a loyal friend but... This was a bit much. He grabbed his mug and took a drink. Ela smiled.

"Aww man. I was kinda interested."

"Yeah well you're not gonna find out. My turn."

"Ask away."

"What is one of your biggest fetishes?" Ela blushed as she looked around to see the bartender looking at the both of them. Feeling awkward, he moved elsewhere and Ela finally answered.

"Don't you dare tell anyone but... My biggest fetish has to be anal. And exhibitionism. Ooh! And flashing! And being dominated! And-"

"Okay okay! Learning more about you than I needed to," Paris said chuckling. Ela's blushing increased and she licked her lips seductively, her tail gently rubbing against Paris' leg.

"Uh Ela? Your tail?" She seemed to be tuning him out.

"It's awfully warm in here," she said undoing a button on her shirt revealing just a small portion of her breasts. Paris' heart started beating so fast you'd think it was running a marathon, small drops of sweat trickling down his cheek and his eyes instantly moving away from her chest. Ela smiled and moved in closer to him and rested her head on her hands giving a perfectly clear view of her bare chest under her shirt and making Paris even more nervous.

"Ela I think you're drunk."

"Look who's talking! Come on! Game's not over yet. Whose turn is it?" The tone in her voice was fluctuating as if she was struggling to stay awake. She grabbed her drink and looked at it as if it was a foreign object.

"Whatever. I'll go then ya pussy." She ran her fingers through her hair and cleared her throat. When she looked at Paris, her eyes had a faint green glow to them.

"Do you find me attractive?" Paris couldn't look away from her. He was completely unable to escape her hypnotizing gaze. She had gotten her hooks deep in him and he began to lose his sense of individuality. She was taking over him. Slowly at first but it was still happening.

"I think you're..." He fought with himself intensely. He wanted to badly to not say anything but she was making him speak what was on his mind and being slightly drunk meant that it was easier to do so. Ela's eyes glowed a little brighter.

"If given the chance, would you sleep with me?" She wasn't letting him go until he answered at least one of the questions. Paris seemed like he was about to answer this time and Ela's tail wagged excitedly behind her.

"Come on pretty boy. Tell me the truth."

I think... you're... hurting me," He managed to let out. Ela's eyes widened in surprise and she released her friend from her control. He groaned and coughed violently, drawing the attention of everyone in the bar. Ela covered her mouth in shock. What had she done?

"Paris! I am so sorry! I didn't mean-" She was cut off when Paris held his hand up to her, silencing her. He coughed for a while longer and looked at her angrily. He didn't say a word but the look on his face said enough. He coughed again and rested his arm on the bar table. Ela fixed her clothes and changed the drinks they both had into water. It certainly helped however a couple of men walked their way over to where Ela and Paris were sitting and they didn't look too happy at her. There were three men, one a white man with blonde hair and a blue jacket that jeans, another with a weir truckers hat and red hair and a beard to match and the third man with black pants and a black shirt, black hair and one hell of an upset look on his face. Ela rolled her eyes at them and turned away while Paris looked at them all quizzically.

"Can I help you gentlemen?" The man with the trucker hat spoke first.

"We saw something... odd that needs addressing." The man wearing all black spoke next.

"We see you've brought a Terran here." The man in blue spoke now.

"And a magic user at that. Need us to take care of her?" Ela took in a deep breath and sighed, letting out a small growl as she tried her hardest to ignore them. Paris looked at the men.

"That's not necessary. This is a friend of mine and we just had a little spat is all. Nothing bad."

"We heard ya coughing and we saw the witch tricking your mind." Said the red haired man.

"Maybe we should take little miss hocus pocus here outside." Said the blonde haired man as he touched her shoulder. The fur on Ela's back stood on end and she summoned a ball of fire in her hand which she would have thrown at the man's face if Paris didn't pacify her and hold her hand.

"That's not necessary."

"I think it is. She's not allowed here any more." Ela got up and looked the blonde haired man in the eyes.

"And who are you to say that?"

"I'm a human for one and a man which means I'm better than you in every way ya swamp rat."

"Alright I've had it!" Ela, in a fit of rage, covered her right hand in a bright red fire and sucker punched the blonde haired man in the nose, knocking him unconscious instantly as he fell to his back, limp as a noodle and his friends simply stared in shock. Ela banged her knuckles together and her left hand ignited in fire as well as she snarled like a wild animal and even barked.

"Come on! You want to fight?! Lets fight!" The black haired man attempted to throw a punch at Ela but she blocked it and threw three quick jabs at his face and delivering a powerful kick to his stomach and knocking him into a table full of patrons. The red haired man tackled Ela and knocked her to the ground and in response Paris stepped in. Using his own powers, his eyes glowing a bright blue, he lifted the red haired man off of his friend and threw him behind the bartenders table. He helped Ela up and she thanked him.

"You know we can never come back here right?"

"They started it." A random man had come up and tackled Paris, holding him over the bartending table and punching his face in. Several other men in the bar had grabbed onto Ela and forced her against a wall, punching her in the stomach repeatedly and some ripping off her clothes. Paris grabbed a bottle from the table and banged it over the head of the man attacking him before stabbing his leg with it to ensure he didn't get back up. He grabbed the main main punching Ela in a chokehold and pulled him away while Ela slammed her feet on the ground and the ground beneath her shook. Everyone lost their balance and let go of Ela and in response she stabilized the small earthquake she made. Two men got up and attacked but Ela deflected them both and, turning her hands into electricity and grabbing at the chest of the two men, shocking them just enough to knock them unconscious.

Paris was fighting two men as well but didn't fair so well as one person managed to wail on him pretty harshly and when he managed to get away, the other man hit him in the back with a chair. Paris was getting tired but he then took a deep breath as his eyes glowed a bright blue and he got up and began to fight back with more energy than he had before, getting to his feet and fighting back. He did well for a time before the man pulled a knife and stabbed Paris in the side. He shouted in pain and Ela came to his aid, tossing a fireball at the man's face. His hair caught fire and Paris grabbed the mug water Ela made for him a while ago and tossed it at the burning man before kicking him onto the ground. Paris pulled the knife out of his side and groaned as he looked at Ela and saw her holding her own against a man twice her size, hopping into his back and riding him head first into a wall. She looked at Paris and saw the cuts and bruises on his face and the stabbing hole in his side but he acted as if there was no problem with him. Ela had a torn ear, ruffed up fur and a bruise on her right eye as well as holding her stomach in pain.

She held a glowing light in her hands and she slowly began to heal herself. It wasn't complete as she never mastered that spell but it was enough. She looked at her friend and smiled meekly.

"Nice place. Can really feel the love," Paris said chuckling. His blue eyes faded and he finally began to grown in pain, struggling to stay on his feet. He had used his own powers to nullify whatever pain he had felt, kinda like having control of how much adrenaline went through his system but now since the danger was over he calmed himself down and felt every sense of pain he should. Ela helped keep him standing and would have healed him if she knew how. The two made way for the door but the blonde haired man Ela knocked out began to wake up and saw the Ela and Paris leaving. He got up and, groaning in pain, he pulled a gun from his side and aimed it at Ela. Paris turned around and saw him and when the man fired, Paris used his powers to deflect every single shot that came their way before lifting the weapon out of the blonde man's hands and took it apart piece by piece before dropping the various pieces on the blonde haired man's head. Paris smiled and him and Ela left.

*****

"It is unclear what led to this attack but security cameras from the bar say that three men had antagonized the Terran woman and-"

"Oh Gods. I hope Paris is okay," said a snow leopard woman as she searched other news stations. Just then there was a knock at the door followed by the doorbell ringing and the woman -named Radia- rushed over to it and opened the door only to see Paris and Ela standing their with bruised faces and awkward smiles.

"HI babe," Paris said quietly. Radia rushed to hug him only to immediately regret that when Paris yelled in pain.

"Whoops! Sorry!"

"It's fine. Just uh... In a bit of pain." Paris said as Ela helped walk him inside. He collapsed on the bed and chuckled when Radia came over and began to heal him. She was much more adept at healing magic than Ela was and Paris would be feeling better in no time. Radia began to ask a lot of question.

"What was that I saw in the news? You guys got in a fight? You have any idea how dangerous that is in these times? Not to mention you could have been killed! What were you thinking?"

"I was thinking of hanging out with a friend of mine at a little hotspot that welcomes people of all kinds. It worked out well... For a while."

"Then those assholes had to show up and ruin the fun."

"Ela-"

"Sorry. Sorry. I have a bit of a potty mouth." Radia looked at the wolf girl and frowned.

"I don't believe I've been given your name."

"Oh! My apologies. My name is Ela. I'm the Terran who saved your husband's life."

"Such bull! I saved your furry behind way more than you saved mine!"

"Not true!"

"So true!"

"Okay!" Radia interrupted. "Thank you Ela. If there is anyway I can repay you, Let me know." Ela chuckled sheepishly and played with her tail.

"Well... ya see... My home is kinda being... destroyed."

"Oh you poor thing."

"Yeah. Humans didn't like the Terrans living there so they burned it down. Do y'all mind if I kinda crash here for a while? Please? Pretty please? I'm super quiet and won't bother anyone and I can help clean if needed, I clean up after myself I-" Radia chuckled and held Ela's hands.

"Hey hey hey. It's quite alright. You know Terran kindness. 'Someone does good unto to you, Respect and do good unto them.' You saved my husband. It is my way of thanking you. Disagree at all Paris?" He held out a thumbs up. "He's good with it." Ela smiled and hugged Radia tightly, lifting her off her feet. Radia laughed and when Ela released her she helped Paris walk into their bedroom before returning.

"Thank you so much for letting me stay here. It is very kind of you." Ela said softly. Radia smiled and walked slowly over to Ela before extending one of her claws and holding it under her chin. Radia's eyes glowed a bright green and she stared intently at Ela who was surprised beyond belief.

"W-what did I-"

"Shut up!" Radia said sharply. "I know you hit on my husband." Ela's heart raced and she curled her tail around her leg as her ears flattened atop her head.

"Oh. You know read my mind didn't you?" She already knew the answer. "Listen-"

"No! You listen. I don't know a lot about you but Paris does. You two seem to be very close friends. I don't care. I've had close friends before and they've turned on me before. Paris means the world to me and I'm not going to have him taken from me by the first furry bitch who's willing to open her legs to him." Ela would have spoke but the look in Radia's eyes got fiercer and silenced before she could speak.

"Paris is my husband. My best friend and is everything to me. You two can still be friends, You two can still hang out but if you ever hit on him again, I will turn your furry ass into stone, seal you in a coffin and toss you into the bottom the ocean. Am I clear?"

"Yes ma'am," Ela responded quickly. Radia retracted her claw and smiled, the green in her eyes fading into her natural dark brown.

"Enjoy your stay." She turned away and walked back into the bedroom Paris lay and closed the door behind her. Ela released a heavy sigh in relief.

"Paris... Don't ever piss that girl off. Ever."
