#6 of Master of Slavprot

"Well, the sun is starting to go down. The eclipse should be happening soon. We should get everyone ready. The faster it is done, the less organized they will be." Tulip was wearing the school uniform and a backwards ski mask to cover her eyes.

"Uh..." Lexi was wearing the ski mask correctly, "shouldn't you... uh... turn that around?"

Tulip giggled, "Then what would happen when something explodes and becomes bright? There are more ways to see then by sight alone. I can use magic, remember? Anyway, We have the offices, which will be empty in a few minutes. We need to take our places. We'll divide it up, half of the magic users and half of the people you trained on each of the two floors. This way, they can't take advantage of us. Are you ready-"

Clingy was running down the hall of the dorm, panting, "I know what the blood is from."

Lexi was anxious, "Well?! Spit it out!"

Clingy took a few more breaths, then when he began to breathe normally, "It's human. I can't tell who, but it is human. There were these weird things in the blood, I've never seen anything like them before. It's like they formed a wall in the blood, which made it harder than normal and made it hard to separate. It has to be from October. No one else is like that."

Tulip had to ask, "You are sure?" Clingy nodded, "Well, he might be hurt, or maybe captured. We can't stop now, though. I'm sure he can break out eventually. All we have to do is cause enough havoc and whoever is guarding him will leave. Now, let's hurry."

The armies of the students marched in the twilight, making sure to take out any cameras they found before crossing. Each was wearing their uniform and a ski mask, to protect their identities. Tulip sensed something, but decided to ignore it at first. As they approached the decided on buildings, the students of Slavprot took their revenge.

.....................

"Are they here yet?" Jacques was panicking.

His secretary, although worried, was able to keep a level head, "Yes sir, the armed forces are just arriving. Why, may I ask, have you called them in? It is only one student."

"I don't trust this kid. Something we learned in advanced training, hope for the best, plan for the worst. Right now, I know the worst is coming. October dissapeared from the radar yesterday during lock down. We even checked his room, it's like he was never here. He may be gathering his own forces outside, and they may be armed. He knew who I was, yet I know nothing about him. I am the one at the disadvantage here. He knows more about the secret pathways the students use, so he can come from everywhere."

"Don't you mean anywhere?"

"No. He... did something to my dreams. He was inside of my head! I couldn't sleep for two days! The nightmares... the things I saw... I can't even remember what multiplication is anymore!"

The secretary backed off from the dean. A man with riot gear on his desk in a state like this was dangerous. He had is shotgun, riot shield, and was wearing full riot armor. He was ready for a fight, yet he was the only one sure that it was going to happen. He stared out of the window, he sleep-deprived mind worried about what was going to happen. As the sky grew dark, he noticed something. The moon was supposed to be full, but it wasn't. Part of it was gone and had a dark crimson glow. His eyes opened wide as he grabbed his things and ran out of his office. In the lobby, he was greeted by the commander of the armed forces, "Sir, we are short in number, but my men are some of the best. We all have a tolerance to magic, and we are the best marksmen outside of the Rangers. We will protect this institution."

"Thank you, just... be prepared, I have no idea what is coming, and I don't want any of you men to be harmed. For the most part, this is the most likely target to be attacked. The other buildings have been evacuated, and we can handle collateral damage. Just, be ready-"

"Sir! There has been an attack! The cafeteria is completely destroyed, and the shipping center is currently being damaged. All cameras are down and-"

"You four! Check on that area!" The commander was firm, and his men immediately went to check on the area."

Jacques was angry, "Dammit! Anything else?!"

The messenger contacted the others on his cell phone, "The offices are being destroyed, but I don't have anything from Ken, yet. Ken, come in." Silence, "Ken! Come in!" Nothing.

Jacques began to tremble, "Dammit, dammit, he's hitting us on the outside! WHY?!"

The commander sent two more divisions of his troops out, until it was only him and five of his men. "Sir, I have a suggestion. If I send out two of my men, we can capture some students and use them as bait to draw this October in. We will still be able to protect you, and we can minimize any damage. You two, go out and round up some students!"

...........................

"Alright, this should do. We need to get out of here, now. They have sent men. Quickly." Tulip was sensing hostility heading towards the offices, and decided to get everyone out. So far, everything was going smoothly. There was little resistance, And nobody was getting captured or hurt. As Tulip made her way down to the first floor, she met up with Lexi and three others that were with her. They were the last in the building, but were stopped by four heavily armed men by the exit they were supposed to take.

"You five, lay down your weapons and put your hands in the air. If you do not comply, you will be shot." They had little choice, so they complied.

Lexi thought up a lie, "Just to let you know, there are still ten of us on the second floor, so please don't shoot them."

They bought it, "Alright, you three, head on up, I have these four." Three of the men left and the remaining one noticed that Tulip had her mask on backwards, "You! Why are you wearing that mask like that?!"

She played coy, "Well, I'm blind, sir. And... I don't like when people make fun of my eyes, so I like to hide them as much as possible."

"Then why are you here?! You can't possibly do any damage!"

"But I know this place like the back of my hand. And- burn!" Tulip raised her hand and shot out a fireball, not a damaging one, but one that would knock him out for a while, "Come on! We have to go!" They ran out and into the trees, meeting up with the other students. It was caged off, so unless they had to find them, they weren't going to try, "Whew. That was quick thinking, Lexi. We could have been shot."

"No problem. You did a good job yourself, I never would have thought of that."

Tulip was unsure of what was happening, "These aren't the usual guard. That armor, it's resistant to magic, so I had to make it forceful. I was lucky I drank an energy drink before this, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to move. A little trick I picked up from October."

Lexi had a strange thought, one that she never thought would cross her mind, "I wonder if Clingy is alright. He did stay behind, but something just doesn't seem right. You know? Like a weird tingling sensation just ran down my arm."

Tulip nodded in agreement, but they couldn't check on him for fear of revealing their position.

...............................

Clingy was wandering the halls, thinking about the blood sample. The strange particles he found in it were strange, and even though he was a doctor, he knew they weren't natural. Many of the students in the dorm were gone on their mission, but he wasn't brave enough to join them. Out of everything October had told him, the fact that they were using the students as test subjects started to get to him.

He went back into his room, and pulled out his compass, then a clear plastic sheet. He pricked his finger just enough so blood would come out and land on the sheet, then he put it under his microscope. He jumped back and yelled when he realized what he saw. Another student ran up to his room, a female canine oddly enough, "Hey! Are you okay Clingy?"

"Oh, hi Zaida. I... I think I just found out what the drugs were used for."

She was curious, "Not weapons?"

"Well, some of them, yes, but... I need to explain. Yesterday, October was gone, possessions, DNA, everything. However, there was a drop of blood under the bed. I looked at it, and it was human. I assumed it was October's, because he's the only human in this building. Then, I looked at it under my microscope and it had these weird things in the blood, which held it together and made it thinker. It still flows like normal, but if the body is cut it doesn't bleed as fast and it heals much quicker, this confirmed that it belonged to October. I was wrong."

Zaira sat on his bed as close to him as she could, "What do you mean? How could you be wrong? Aren't your parents doctors or something? And aren't you really good at this?" Zaira had a problem where she asked way too many questions, all the time.

Clingy took a breath, then put the human blood under the microscope, "Look at this. The little brown things shouldn't be there." Zaira took a long look, the Clingy put his own blood under the microscope, "See? The same brown dots."

"What does this mean? And whose blood is this?"

"Mine." She gasped, "October said his unnatural healing ability was magical in nature, and I thought this was what happened, but it wasn't. They are trying to make drugs to make super soldiers or something."

Zaira said, "Wow, I didn't know you were so cute when you did science, did you? And what does this mean? Are we all invincible?"

"No, I don't think the research is done yet. When I was beat up, I think this was the only thing that kept me alive. Hey, do you hear something?"

Clingy's door bust open as two soldiers entered, "On the ground! Hands above your heads!" Zaira grabbed onto Clingy tightly as he slowly dropped to the ground and put his hands up.

"Just take me, leave her alone!" A nag went over his head, a sharp pain, then it all went dark.

........................................

Jacques was now outside, with the commander and four of his men. They had ten students, including Clingy and Zaira, on their knees with their hands tied. Bags were over their heads, and Jacques was confident, "He may want to cause violence, but he won't risk letting them get hurt. He'll let himself get captured before that. I"m sure of it."

A happy whistle was in the distance, and it had a merry tune. A dark figure, wearing a black hoodie with white flames, the left sleeve looked as though it was burned off. It was wearing baggy cargo pants, had it's head down, and had silver chain with blades attacked at random pointed in it's right hand. It was the only thing that shone in the darkened sky, "It's about damn time, I was getting impatient." The figure looked up, and it was October.

"Bastard! Kill him!"

He waved a finger in the air, "Tsk tsk, I wouldn't if I were you. It'd be a shame if I had to kill all of you quickly without savoring anything." The armed men pulled the bags off of the students and October immediately recognized Clingy.

"Hey, I said leave her alone! Kill me instead!" He pleaded.

October smiled, "Well, glad to see you got your balls, Clingy. I assume you found out their secrets? One of the 'prisoners' donated a blood sample when I asked, and I thought you might be one of the few who made the connection between the chemicals and the 'punishments.' I was right. And don't worry, I won't let any of you die here. Sure, it would make my powers exponentially stronger, but I don't need that to win here."

Jacques smiled nervously, "You think you can win?! Kill them all!" As the armed men raised their weapons, October raised his left hand high in the air. Each of the men flew up into the sky.

"Since I am merciful, I think I'll kill them before they land." October clenched his fist and the sound of snapping could be heard. Five bodies fell limp to the ground. October then slashed his strange weapon down, and all of the ties on the students snapped off. Clingy helped Zaira to her feet as they ran past October.

"S-so... you're going to kill me with that thing?! Pathetic! I'll kill you before you get close enough to do that!" October started to laugh, "What's so funny?!" Jacques said as he raised he gun and shield.

"You think this is a weapon?! Look at it, I have a better chance of killing myself than anyone else. It's a fucking chain with sharp objects moron. It's more ceremonial than anything. No, I'm going to kill you with my bare hands." He dropped the chain and raised his hands loosely in front of his face.

"Why?! Why are you doing this?!"

October smiled, "I thinking it'll torment you more if you don't know." Then he charged. Jacques fired and hit October in his side, but he didn't flinch. He tackled Jacques and knocked both gun and shield away. He then proceeded to pummel Jacques into the ground with everything he had, "Come on! You can kill innocents, but you can't stop me?! Fight back you coward!"

In truth, Jacques was trying, but each of October's punches made him too dizzy to move. October stood up and backed off, clenching the hole in his side"Ugh... fool!" Jacques pulled out a small handgun and shot October in his heart, but he didn't fall, "What?!"

"You can destroy a heart that's already been broken." He ran up to Jacques, pulled him to his feet, "I'm going to end it all!" The moon rippled in the sky as clouds swirled around it. Lightning crackled in the sky as Jacques started to feel pressure from above. He tried to wriggle free, but October had a firm grasp on him.

"What is this?! What can possibly do this?!"

October was clearly in no mood to talk, "Shatter and crush my enemy! Use my life as payment!" Something crashed down from the sky, a beam or red light. Jacques looked up in horror, knowing that this would be the last thing he sees. Then it hit. Unbearable pain shot through his body as his vision faded. Jacques was no more.

Tulip, Lexi, and Clingy, along with the entire school, ran up to the light. There were two bodies, one was lying down and smoking while the other was on his hands and knees, wearing a black hoodie and baggy cargo pants, "October!" The three shouted as they ran over to him. However, their glee quickly faded as they heard him speak.

His voice was different, it was sorrowful, fearful, and the exact opposite of what it usually was. He was sobbing as he spoke, "Why... why am I still alive? Why can't I be with you? Why am I alive?!"

He was in pain, emotionally, not physically, as the moon started to show itself again. His wounds began to heal as he pounded on the ground. Clingy walked close to him, but kept a safe distance, "It's going to be okay, October. It's over."

"No... no it's not. I'm still here, so it can't be over. I was supposed to die, to end the dreams, the pains, the torment that I live through every day. I see her dead body every time I blink. Why can't I die?!"

Tulip walked over, "Well, maybe you have another purpose? Perhaps you were kept alive because there is something important you still have to do. Maybe it is to run this school, or protect those who need help."

Lexi chimed in, "Yeah, you're our friend. Maybe you need to protect us. Or just be around, teach us how to be better. You made Clingy able to stand being away from people, gave Tulip courage to lead an army, maybe your life is better spent helping others."

October, stood up, a blank expression across his face, "Fine, but I choose who I want to help. I'm no hero, so don't rely on me, got it? Now, I'm tired. I'm going to go to sleep." He walked towards the dorm, alone, but not alone. He was loved by the students, but he hated himself. The cold night air was refreshing as he tried to cope with living another sixty or so years, "Dammit."
