#1 of Microfics

After a rough day at work, Amy is ready to just come home and fume. Luckily, her girlfriends have a much better way to unwind!

First in a series of microfics, quick little snapshots and scenes to keep myself writing! I hope you all enjoy, please let me know what you think!

The bang of the front door against the wall announced her return home, a low stream of curses following the same door slamming shut. Keys clattered along the kitchen table, the sound of rummaging through the cabinets filling the air before the keys had even settled. A moment of quiet struggling with stubborn plastic, and the microwave began to hum, a soft drone filling the room as she slumped down into one of the chairs around the table, head in her hands as Olivia padded into the room.

"That bad, huh?" She slumped against the table in response, giving an over-dramatic groan into the well-worn wood. A gentle hand moved to rub her shoulders a moment before the microwave chimed, her girlfriend moving away to get the cheap sandwich pockets for her. The sound of the glass plate next to her persuaded her to raise her head, stray auburn locks falling in her face as she reached out for the warm junk food.

"I just don't understand how people can be so stupid, or thoughtless, or.... UGH." She bit savagely into one of the pepperoni and cheese pockets as if she were ripping the head from one of the offending customers. "And then this group of kids just had to come in right before closing trying to get me to sell them that new carjacking game, like somehow I'll be too tired to not care about getting fired for letting a bunch of tweets buy an M-rated game. Held me up an extra fifteen minutes trying to shoo them out of the store." Bits of chewed up pizza filling escaped her mouth as she vented, making her girlfriend snicker.

"Well, it's over now right? And it's the weekend, you don't have to worry about that shop til Monday. Why don't we go unwind a little?" She grumbled, making the older woman smirk. "Oh, come on. Charlotte is already in the den watching that new animated flick. I know you've been looking for an excuse to watch it." More grumbling, but her bad mood was already weakening - why was Olivia so good at calming her down? "Come on, don't be like that. It's not a dogpile without you!" A smile cracked on her lips, followed by a bark of laughter that left her choking on air.

"You little shit," she gasped between coughs, getting up as Olivia dashed playfully down the hall. It didn't take her long to pursue her down the hall, stopping by her room on the way to trade her stuffy work shirt and slacks for much more comfortable sweat pants and a too-big night shirt. She found Olivia and Charlotte waiting for her at the end of the hall, flopped on the floor of the master bedroom they had turned into their common room, Olivia snuggled down in Charlotte's grey fur. The perks of living with other werewolves, she thought to herself with a smile.

"There you are," came Charlotte's dulcet voice, sticking her tongue out. "If you'd taken any longer we woulda started the movie without you!" Her retort was to belly flop onto the pair, making both ladies cry out in mock protest. She shifted as she got comfortable in the dog pile, reaching out for the remote even as her hands expanded into paws, settling into the familiar warmth of auburn fur and feral bulk. She managed to click the play button with only a few attempts to get her claw on it, giving a contented wuff as the bright opening credits started up and her girlfriends pressed affection into her. Nothing beat a rough day like movie night with the girls.
