Warning, what you are about to read may contain some language, or situations that some might not find suitable.

Disclaimer: Most of this storyline is based off a medieval game called Runescape by Jagex. I do NOT claim ownership or affiliation to the company, and yes I know I am a nerd. The story is set as an alternate to what the game's is. So yes, this is my creation, I did not just simply copy. Hope you enjoy.

Note: You don't have to know ANYTHING about the game, the beginning will sum it all up for you.

"There were believed to be three gods, technically four." The teacher said.

"Guthix the neutral god, did not involve himself in anything that indulged in violence. There was only one recorded incident in where that Guthix awoke from his deep sleep and that was to settle a war between the other gods. The color that was affiliated with this particular god was green." Said the teacher, looking up from his book.

The teacher paused a second to scan the class to see if there was anyone sleeping yet. He knew if he didn't talk about some sort of trend, or some new iPhone app, he would most likely find his entire class asleep.

However, in the back row sat a young man by the name of Mark. Mark currently sat, with his hands neatly folded over each other, and had his chin resting on them as he intently listened to the teacher.

The teacher, content with the fact that some students were pretending to take notes, continued speaking.

"Saradomin, the "good god" as some might have said, was one of the most worshiped gods during the medieval ages. During the god wars, Saradomin was aided by his worshipers against what was know as the evil god. That god was Zamorak. Now Zamorak was known to the people at the time as the "evil god" who delighted in chaos, disorder, and destruction. This was also one of the most worshiped gods."

The teacher again looked up. "Now remember, Zamorak's colors were red, and Saradomin's colors were blue...and remember, ALL this will be on your midterm. So I recommend taking good notes."

The teacher again looked down at the huge textbook he was reading and continued.

"Then there was a god, known as the "empty lord". Empty because he lost his god powers to Zamorak, who at the time of the betrayal was one of his top generals in his grand army. Now, not a lot has been discovered about Zaros, the god betrayed by Zamorak, because much of it was rumored to be destroyed by Zamorak's followers, who fought with him against the remainder of Zaro's forces during his hostile take over. Now, another thing is that no one really knows if he was considered "good" or "bad", but one thing was known quite well, was that he controlled the largest kingdom, that even in war time, managed to be the most peaceful."

"So how did this Zamorak get Zaro's powers? I didn't think a god could be killed. After all that's what is suppose to separate mortals from gods, right?" Said Mark raising his hand.

"Ahh, quite true. Gods are known for their immortality, but Zaros was not killed, but rather...well, according to legend, vanished from this realm. You see during the fight with the mortal Zamorak, Zaros tripped, or fell, that part isn't clear, but what's clear is that somehow, a staff by the name of....." He paused and looked at his book again. " Known as the "Staff of Armadyl" managed to stab him, which transferred his godlike powers to Zamorak. And after that, it is legend that while Zaros seemed to become more faint, and non-existent, Zamorak became more "real" and physical. That part isn't really clear." He said looking at Mark again.

"We gather here, on the field of battle, to avenge our fallen lord!" Yelled Kiyro. "We gather here, in little numbers my brothers, but let that not deter you!"

Kiyro looked at the small army in front of him. The time, or rather the century was 11 A.D. and the god wars were over. However, the struggle between the Zamorakian forces and the followers of Zaros was still in full rage. The betrayal of the general Zamorak left very few Zaros followers still alive, since the betrayal happened so suddenly and without warning.

He stared in awe at his fellow comrades, only numbering one hundred or so, who were about to face a foe, numbering at least ten times their size.

"Look at them my brothers, look!" He pointed at the enemy line, roughly a mile down from their position.

"They are filled with ranks of savages, weak minded fools, blundering idiots, and false believers in that heretic Zamorak! Most are men for hire! We can do better, though in fewer numbers, it takes only one of us to take out ten of them!" He continued.

Suddenly a young man, only 16 stepped out from the ranks. "Yea, you talk like we can take them, but they have weaponry beyond that of ours!" He said pointing to his spear.

Kiyro could tell the young man wasn't human. His hooded cloak did well to conceal him, but it couldn't hide the tip of his muzzle as he talked.

Then he pointed at the small force behind him, " And look! You tell us to look, so look for yourself! We are OUTNUMBERED, at least ten to one, and that's just an under estimate!"

"So, you wish for more? Reinforcements?" Kiyro said calmly.

"Yes! For the love of Zaros, yes!" Shouted the kid.

Kiyro motioned the young man to get back into formation and began walking a small line in front of the soldiers, pacing back and forth.

"My brothers, run...run if you like. I will harbor no ill feelings for you, go if you wish." He said calmly.

"But stay if you might, stay, and earn what is more important that gold, more important than loved ones, more important than that of material value!" He said turning to face them.

"You will earn honor to our great lord!"

"Do not ask for one man more, no! I beg, do not plead for one man more, for we are brothers!" He shouted while continuing pacing.

"We few...we happy few...we band of brothers...for he today that sheds his blood with me shall forever be my brother, and know this, that when asked who stayed, and who left this field, let the one speaking know, that the ones who stayed, the ones who showed their valor today, have the scares to prove!"

"My brothers, look!" He pointed again at the enemy line.

"They are using weapons! Technology, still new here! Cannons, trebuchets, and new crossbows! They have weak minds!"

He then turned to face them.

"But we! We have our minds!"

As he said that, he held out his palm and a ball of fire erupted in this hand, under his control.

"They don't know the ancient magics taught by our lord! No brothers, we are not at a disadvantage! We HAVE the advantage!"

He then turned his back to the army and shouted, "Zaros, we who are about to die, salute you!"

Suddenly a loud roar of approval erupted in the small army behind him, all holding up their spears, staffs, shields and swords with Zaros's symbol on them.

"Positions!" Yelled Kiyro.

The ranks suddenly grabbed their spears and held them with both hands in front of their bodies.

"Itwanee!"

Hearing that, they slid their right hand down the shaft of the spear, and held the spear to the side of them in a standing position.

"Swatwaa!"

The entire first line then slid their right foot back, and lowered their body, as if ready to charge with their spears at the ready.

"Nackt!"

The bell rang, just as the teacher was giving some final notes about the midterm.

"Remember, only these FOUR gods will be on the MIDTERM! Oh and midterm is ONE WEEK from today!" He shouted at the students as they left in a hurry.
