I just want to say that this is my first time writing a story. My friend DragonGuard, who is a VERY honest person, said quote "Family and close friends are sometimes not the best critics in the world cuz they don't want to hurt your feelings. It's better with strangers cuz they don't know you personally." and "Don't be scared, put yourself out there and see what people think. You'll be surprised." DragonGuard helped me do some editing. Be honest. I want some constructive criticism. That's all I have to say so... start reading.

It was an exciting day for young pokémon trainer Eric, as he won his first gym badge at the Oreburg gym with his partner eevee. Eevee is so far the only pokémon that Eric has ever caught. To celebrate their victory, Eric decided to by eevee a gift from the pokemart. Once they walked in, Eric told eevee to wait at the counter while he shopped for supplies. Eevee did as he was told and watched Eric walk to the distant aisles. While sitting there, he watched as people came in and out of the pokemart with their beloved pokémon. After about fifteen minutes, he got bored of watching people and decided to go look for Eric. Since he saw Eric walk to the aisle closest to the entrance, he chose to start his search there.

Once he got to the aisle, a man with greenish blue hair, dressed in what looks like a grey space suit, walked in the store. The man took a glance eevee and an evil grin appeared on his face. Eevee sensed danger, so he turned around only to find the man trying to grab him. Eevee jumped out of the way in time to avoid his grasp and ran down the aisle as fast as he could. About halfway down, he looked back to see if the man was following him. To his surprise, the green haired man wasn't following him. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen. Eevee went back to the entrance confused.

"Where did he go?" eevee thought. He was going to poke his head out the door to see if he was really gone, but he heard Eric calling him.

"Eevee, where're you going?" Eevee turned around to see that Eric had a worried look on his face. Eevee put the incident behind him and ran over to Eric. "Hey, I got a present for you." said Eric holding a bag in his hand. Curious about what's in the bag, eevee jumped on the counter as Eric took an item out of the bag. Eric pulled out a collar. The collar was black with a gold tag on it. "I didn't know what to get you, so I picked something I thought would look nice on you. Do you like it?"

Eevee was really surprised that his trainer would actually get him a gift. This made him happy. Eevee let out a glee of approval and jumped on Erics' chest to lick his face. This took Eric by surprise a little. "I'm glad you like it." said Eric with a grin. Let me put it on you to see if it fits." Eevee jumped back to the counter and turned to face Eric. Eric grabbed the collar and put it around eevees' neck. "Perfect fit. Now, let's get going. We have to get to the next town and earn ourselves another badge." Eric said with a fist in the air.

Eric started to walk towards the door and eevee jumped from the counter to his shoulder. Eric gave eevee a pat on the head and scratched behind his ear. He knew eevee enjoyed this because he would let out a sigh and shake his tail around. As they left the pokemart, Eevee thought back to when he first met Eric.

It was a cool morning in the forest behind Lake Verity. The sun rose to cast its' warm rays on the forest pokemon as they woke from their slumber. The best part, to the pokemon, was that there was no direct route through the forest because trainers would rarely come through.

Eevee awoke to the sound of starly chirping in the trees above. He growled to himself wondering why they're so noisy this early in the morning? It was too early in the day for him to be awake and alert, so he tried to go back to sleep. He failed miserably because the starly seemed to be chirping louder as if knowing he was trying to go back to sleep. After about twenty minutes of trying, he decided it was no use. He got up and growled to himself as he made his way to a nearby river behind the lake to get a drink.

While eevee was walking, he tried to remember what his dream was about. He's been having this dream for a while now ever since he was three months old. He'll be eight months old tomorrow. It wasn't a bad dream, it was just bothering him to have the same dream over and over again. In the dream, he was playing with another pokemon. He couldn't see what the pokemon was because it looked like a shadow come to life. It had a slim, yet round body with two tails. He would play with it in the river and near the edge of the forest. Every time he would ask the pokemon its' name, it would disappear in a red light just before it answered. Then he would run away from a tall shadow. He tries to turn to his parents for help, but they disappeared in a red light. They said they loved him before the light completely took them away, leaving eevee all alone. Then the dream would end.

He didn't know what to think of the dream because as far as he knows, his only friend was an aipom. She has been his friend for as long as he could remember. Despite all the pranks she plays on him, she's a good friend. As for his parents, he missed them a lot. His father was a very strong umbreon. Eevee looked up to him, wanting to be just as strong as he was. His mother was a beautiful Ninetails. She would always comfort eevee when he was scared or sad. She taught him how to hunt and would always support him when he went training with his father. Tears formed in his eyes as he was thinking of the good times he had with his parents. His first hunt with his mother was unsuccessful, but they had a good time. Finally learning shadow ball from his dad was the biggest accomplishment in his life. He's never seen his dad more proud of him in his life.

With a depressing sigh, he put the subject in the back of his mind as he approached the river. There were some stantler further down the river from where eevee was taking a morning drink. As he was going to do the same, he saw his reflection in the water and noticed that the fur on his head was messy. Eevee looked at the rest of his fur and saw that it was ruffled and messy. He remembered he forgot to take a bath after playing with aipom all day yesterday. Knowing it would be rude to take a bath up river, while stantler were down-stream drinking, he decided to go to the lake and have his bath there.

After a few minutes of walking, eevee finally arrived at the lake. The water was clear and there was still a little fog on the lakes' surface. He looked around to make sure no one was around.

"Perfect. No one's here." eevee thought. He didn't really like others to be around him while he was bathing. Eevee put a paw in the water to check the level of cold he'd have to endure. "Holy crap, that's cold!" He hesitated before summoning up the will to get it over with. The brown fox walked slowly in the shallow part of the lake till the water was up to his chest. He shivered at the coldness he was feeling all over his body. "S-s-so... c-c-cooold." he said to himself, slowly adjusting to the water. After a few more seconds of mental preparation, he sat down and started bathing in the cold water.

Eevee started with face first to fully wake himself up. Then he worked his way to his shoulders and torso area. Other than the cold water, eevee thought that this was very peaceful, till a chill ran up his spine. Not from the cold water, but he had a feeling he was being watched. He turned around to see if anyone was around. He didn't see anyone. After a minute or two, he turned back around to continue bathing, but alert this time. Not to long after he turned back around, he heard the bushes at the forest edge shaking. He quickly turned around to see that no one was there. This was really starting to freak him out.

"Who's there?!" eevee shouted towards where he heard the sound. There was no response. This put a little scare into eevee. " What if it was a hungry mightyena, waiting to eat me?" he thought to himself. Then he heard a splash not too far from where he was. "It's going to get me out here?!" he whispered to himself feeling terrified.

Eevee tried to run out of the water, but besides the usual drag of the water, he kept tripping and falling in the water. He didn't get very far before he felt a presence behind him. He was too scared to turn around to look at his killer, but he knew he had to. He wanted to know who his killer was before he died, not that it would make much difference since he was going to die. He quickly turned around to look the killer in the face.

"BOO!!!" Eevee fell back and landed on his rear. He was scared out of his mind, till he saw it was his friend aipom laughing at him. She stood in front of eevee laughing at her own prank. Eevee however, didn't think it was funny. He got up to tackle the laughing aipom, but she used the hand on her tail quickly push him to the side, making him fall into the water again. This made her laugh harder, making her fall on her rear rolling around uncontrollably. Eevee quickly got up and jumped on the aipom, pinning her arms and legs. This got her to calm down enough to say something to the angered eevee.

"Hey buddy. How's it going?" said the aipom.

"You scared me half to death! How do you think its going?!" eevee shouted back.

"Well, I think it's going great. You just got clean and was greeted by your best friend at the same time." replied the aipom with a grin.

"I don't need that kind of greeting so early in the morning! I thought you were a hungry mightyena trying to get his breakfast!" eevee shouted again. Despite saying this, it left the aipom unfazed. This made eevee a little irritated. "What if I did the same thing to you? How would you feel then?" Aipom thought about it for a moment, then replied

"Of course I would be scared, but I wouldn't go around trying to tackle my friend." This made eevee feel a little guilty. Sure he was angry, but it didn't mean he had to try and hit her. He let out a sigh. Knowing that she got to him, she smiled.

"It's okay. I forgive you. As for my apology for scaring you, I'm going to help you evolve." Eevee went wide-eyed in shock of what she said.

"Help me evolve?" he thought. He felt excitement spread all over his body. He could be as strong as his dad if he evolved. "How? What do we have to do?" he asked not containing the excitement in his voice.

"Not much, just this." Aipom lifted the unpinned tail from the water and used the hand to slide across eevees' sheath. Eevee let out a small yipe out of surprise. He immediately jumped off of aipom and his whole body turned red out of embarrassment. Aipom got up laughing and pointing at eevee. "Look, you just evolved into a flareon." Eevee felt anger boil inside of him. Seeing the anger on his face, aipom made her getaway. Not wanting to let her get away with what she did, eevee quickly followed her out of the lake and into the forest.

Aipom swung from tree to tree using her tail, running away from eevee. "Get back here!" Eevee shouted running after the aipom.

"No, you gotta catch me." aipom replied with big smile. Eevee knew she was having fun, but that doesn't mean she can do, or touch, whatever she wanted. He knew he couldn't catch her while she was in the trees, he charged up a dark purple ball of energy in his mouth and launched it at aipom. Aipom noticed the Shadow ball mid-swing and dropped down to the branch below her to dodge the Shadow ball, which hit the branch she was swinging on. "Hey, you can't do that! That's cheating!" said aipom.

"You shouldn't have touched it then! eevee shouted back. Aipom was still a good fifteen yards away, but now that she stopped he could catch up to her.

"Oh is that why you're so upset? I thought that all guys liked their tenders touched by girls." said aipom with a slightly seductive tone.

"I'm not 'all guys' you pervert!" shouted eevee as he finally caught up to aipom. Aipom looked down at eevee with a playful grin.

"Ohh, so you roll that way huh? I must say, I'm very shocked. I thought you wanted a more feminine mate." she said as she traced her figure in the air. Eevee felt his face turn red.

"I'm not like that! Besides, you shouldn't be going around touching guys like that anyway." said eevee. Aipom stood on the branch thinking for moment, then replied

"Maybe you're right. I don't wanna give others the wrong impression of me. I guess I'll just have to stick with you then." Eevees' face turned red again.

"...You're not gonna get me again you pervert." said eevee with a little hesitation.

"Oh yeah?" said aipom with confidence.

Aipom jumped from the branch she was on and launched a swift attack at eevee. Eevee charged forward and used quick attack to dodge the barrage of stars coming at him. Aipom tried to use her tail to grab on another tree branch, but she missed and fell, landing a few yards from eevee. Eevee used this opportunity to get closer to aipom. He used quick attack to close the distance between him and aipom. Aipom recovered in time to see eevee getting close real fast. She quickly used swift to try to delay him, but he dodged to her right behind a tree. Not wanting to be snuck up on, aipom quickly climbed the tree on her left. As soon as she got to the branch closest to the forest floor, she turned around to see that a shadow ball was coming.

Aipom quickly fell backwards, dodging the Shadow ball by a couple of inches. Using her tail, she used the momentum to swing herself to the charging eevee. Eevee saw aipom coming at him, so he launched another Shadow ball at her. Aipom countered by firing another Swift attack. The two attacks connected, causing an explosion that pushed both aipom and eevee backwards a couple feet. After the dust, or dirt, cleared the air, eevee and aipom stood on opposite sides staring at each other, waiting for the other to make the next move.

"Heeelp!" someone shouted in the distance. Eevee and aipom stopped what they were doing. They both looked around to find out where the cry for help was coming from. "Heeelp" someone cried out again. It was coming from the left. Eevee started to take off but aipom stopped him.

"What are you doing? Someone needs help!" eevee said.

"Don't you remember? That's where the beedrill territory is. We can't just run in there to save someone and just to get beaten up too. We need some help." replied aipom. Eevee knew she was right. There was no way they could take on a swarm of beedrill. At best, he could take on two at the same time and aipom can take on three, do to her agility. Eevee thought about this for a moment and shook his head.

"No, we don't have time to get help. By the time we come back, the beedrill would have had their way with whoever was in their territory." With that being said, eevee took off, leaving aipom to follow behind him.

They arrived at a small clearing in the forest, one of the areas that the beedrill have claimed to be theirs. It didn't take long for them to find the one who has been crying for help. It was a small boy wearing blue jeans and a black shirt with a pokeball design on the front. The boy was cornered by a swarm of beedrill with a large tree behind him. There were seven of them. The largest beedrill must have been their leader. Eevee knew this was really bad. The beedrill never let an intruder get away without suffering some kind of punishment.

"Let's go aipom." eevee said as he ran out to confront the beedrill.

Aipom hesitated at first, but quickly got over her fear and followed eevee. The beedrill were readying an attack, but were stopped as a Shadow ball exploded on the forest ground in front of them. Surprised by the sudden explosion, the beedrill halted their attack until the dirt cleared. When the dirt cleared, the beedrill saw eevee and aipom were in a fighting stance in front of the boy. Confused, the beedrill that was leading the attack flew in front of the rest to confront them.

"Why are you helping this human? He has invaded our territory and must be dealt with accordingly." the beedrill said in an angry tone. Eevee stepped forward.

"What kind of beedrill goes around attacking everything that wanders in its territory?! This human can't even defend himself."

"He should have known better than to walk carelessly into our territory. Now step aside, or be punished along with this human."

"I will not step aside and watch you punish a human for something so stupid!" eevee shouted.

"Then you shall suffer our wrath! Attack them all!" the beedrill shouted. Two beedrill flew at them with amazing speed. Aipom jumped in the air and swung her tail in front her, sending a Swift attack at them. Both of the beedrill were hit, but they recovered quickly and flew at them again. This time eevee used Quick attack to knock them to the ground. Before they could recover again, aipom used Swift on the grounded beedrill, knocking them out cold. This angered the lead beedrill even further. "Idiots! The rest of you, attack them!" The beedrill shouted.

Then the rest of the beedrill underlings went on the attack. Two beedrill flew ahead of the other two and used their Twin needle attack on eevee and aipom. Aipom had no trouble dodging the jabs beedrill was throwing because of her amazing agility, but eevee was having a little trouble. While they were fighting the beedrill, the other two beedrill that was behind the first pair flew around them and used String shot on the boy to keep him running. The boy dodged the first shot, but the second shot caught his foot.

"Ack!" the boy said as he fell over on his face.

The beedrill were quickly closing in on the boy. The boy screamed and covered his face to defend himself. Aipom heard the boy scream and jumped in the air, avoiding the beedrills' thrusts. Aipom launched a Swift attack at both the beedrill she was fighting, and the two beedrill closing in on the boy. The beedrill attacking the boy was hit from behind, pushing them forward too fast to stop themselves before hitting a tree. The beedrill were knocked out cold.

Aipom landed back on the ground, but was quickly knocked down from behind by the beedrill she was fighting with. She rolled a few feet from where she landed, finally coming to a stop when she bumped into a tree. Aipom got back up and saw that the beedrill was coming in fast to finish her off. She threw another Swift at the beedrill, but he evaded it. Beedrill got close enough to aipom to use another Twin needle attack. He thrust his right barb at aipom, but she jumped over the beedrill, doing a handstand on his head before turning her body to kick him in his back. The force behind the kick sent beedrill flying forward into the tree aipom was standing in front of, forcefully lodging his thrusting barb in the tree. The beedrill tried to get it out, but it was stuck. Aipom looked at the struggling beedrill and laughed at it.

Meanwhile, eevee was finishing his fight with a beedrill by launching a Shadow ball at it. The beedrill was knocked out. Eevee looked at the head beedrill with a sinister glare as if daring him to fight.

"Oh, you want to fight me little fox? Fine then. I'll make sure you don't leave here alive!" Beedrill flew at eevee with even greater speed than his followers. Eevee dodged to the left, barely avoiding his attack. Before he could counter the attack, the beedrill had already turned around and jabbed eevee in his side with his barb, sending eevee flying a few yards before hitting a tree. Eevee slowly got up, but quickly fell back down as pain ran throughout his entire body.

"Ahh, what did you do to me?" eevee asked clenching his teeth.

"That's just my poison making its way around your body. I gave you just enough to keep you still while I punish the human, then I'll come back to finish you off if the poison doesn't kill you first." Eevee tried to get up again, but his strength was slipping away. The beedrill laughed at his attempts to get up.

"It's no use, so just sit back and enjoy the show." The beedrill turned around to see aipom getting the sticky stringshot off the boys' foot. "You're not getting away from me intruder!" the beedrill shouted as he flew toward them.

Aipom turned her head to see the beedrill coming at them. She launched a series of Swift attacks at the beedrill, but he dodged them all with ease. He was just few feet away and the only thing she could counter him with were her fury swipes. Just then, beedrill was hit from behind, knocking him to the ground rolling into the bushes behind them. Aipom looked around to see where the attack came from. Then her eyes locked on eevee. He was barely standing, with sweat pouring from his face and his breathing was very heavy.

"He must have shot a Shadow ball at him." thought aipom. Suddenly, the beedrill flew out of the bushes with pure hatred in his eyes.

"I was going to let you live long enough to see your friends die, but I think I'll take care of you now!" beedrill shouted. He made a beeline for eevee. (never thought I'd make that pun.) Eevee tried to attack, but immediately fell on his side. The poison was too much for him. Eevee watched as the beedrill came closing in on him to deliver the final blow. Just as beedrill was readying an attack, he was hit hard in the back of his head, making him hit the ground rolling into the tree next to eevee. The beedrill was knocked out cold. Eevee struggled to keep his eyes open, but it was no use. Eevee closed his eyes waiting for death to take him away.

Eevee awoke from his slumber in a daze. "What? I thought I was going to die." he thought to himself. He looked around and noticed that he wasn't in the forest, but a large white room. Then he realized that he was in a large bed. "Where in Mews name am I?" Eevee was lying on his belly. He tried to get up, but was stopped by the pain in his side. "Aahh, son of a-" was all he got out before getting cut off by sudden bounce on the bed. He lifted his head to see what caused the bounce and saw aipom, who stood over him looking upset. "What's wrong?" he asked. Almost immediately, he was slapped by aipoms' tail. Eevee turned back around to yell at her, but he felt something wet fall on his face. He looked up and saw aipom crying.

"You...idiot. *Sniff* "I was...worried...about you. I thought you weren't...gonna...wake up." aipom said trying to talk through her crying. Eevee turned his head to the window and saw that the sun was setting. He turned back to aipom and asked

"How long have I been out?" Aipom wiped the tears from her face and calmed herself down enough to speak normally. Then she answered

"Three...days." Eevee couldn't believe that he has been sleeping for three days. Then he thought back to when the beedrill was knocked out.

"What happened to the beedrill?" eevee asked. Aipom tilted her head to the side, a little confused by what he was asking. Then she remembered and told eevee what happened.

Meanwhile, the young boy was running to the pokemon center in Sandgem town. He wanted to see if the eevee he brought in awake. The young boys' name was Eric. He's a nine year old kid born in Twin Leaf town. He stood at a height of 4' 9", a little tall for a boy his age. He has long brown hair that reaches his shoulders. He wore black jeans and white shirt. People were glancing at him while he was running, wondering why he was in such a hurry, but he didn't care. He just wanted to thank the eevee and aipom for saving his life.

Once he got to the pokemon center, he went up to the front desk. There wasn't anyone there, so he rang the little bell on the desk. A short while later, Nurse Joy came around the corner from the hall where she treats injured pokemon. "Hello, is there something I can help you with?" she asked in a very sweet tone.

"I'm here to check on the eevee I brought in three days ago." Eric replied.

"Oh, you're the boy that came in here with a badly injured eevee. I'll be right back to see if the eevee's awake. Please have a seat." Nurse Joy walked back into the hall she came from. Eric was so worried about the poor little eevee, he didn't want to sit down till he knew it was okay. He felt that it was his fault for getting the eevee so badly hurt. The incident still gives him chills when he thinks about it.

Flashback

The beedrill had just knocked eevee into a tree. He watched as the little eevee tried to get up, but couldn't. Then the beedrill turned to face him and charged. Though the aipom tried her best to stop him, he was just too strong. Eric covered his face as a last resort to defend himself. Then suddenly, he heard a little explosion and some thing fall into the bushes next to him. He uncovered his face and saw that eevee was standing again, barely. Eric looked around for the beedrill. The beedrill sprang forth from the bushes and charged at eevee. Eric knew that eevee was too badly injured to fight anymore, so he wanted to at least turn the beedrill attention back at him. Eric quickly looked around for something to throw and saw a small rock. Without really thinking, Eric grabbed the rock, stood up, and threw it at the beedrill with all his might. The rock hit the beedrill in the back of his head and he went down.

Eric ran over to the beedrill to make sure he didn't kill it. He loves pokemon too much to kill them, even if they were trying to kill him. After quickly checking for a pulse, it turns out that the beedrill will live, but will wake up with a killer headache. Eric ran over with aipom to check on eevee. He checked for eevees' pulse. It was faint, but it was dropping. Eric immediately picked up the eevee and ran for the forest exit. Aipom quickly followed behind with streams of tears in her eyes, clearly worried that eevee was probably going to die.

It took about fours hours of constant running for them to get out of the forest and to the pokemon center in Sandgem town. When they entered the pokemon center, There were a few trainers sitting in chairs next to the entrance. They looked at him running in carrying an injured eevee and a aipom following behind. Eric ran up to the front desk and saw Nurse Joy typing on her computer.

"Nurse Joy!!!" he yelled, out of breath and chest burning like a wildfire. "This eevee really needs your help!!!" Nurse Joy looked at the state eevee was in and quickly called for her assistant Blissey. The round, pink pokémon came around the corner with a small bed on wheels and stopped in front of them.

"Quickly, put the eevee on the bed!" she said with urgency. Eric did as he was told and put eevee gently on the bed. Nurse Joy wheeled the bed around and pushed it into the emergency room. Aipom tried to follow, but Nurse Joy told her to stay outside the room until she is done treating him. Of course aipom didn't listen to her at first, but Eric persuaded aipom to stay outside and wait in the lobby with him. This, of course, did not go unpunished.

After Nurse Joy went inside the emergency room, aipom yelled at Eric, saying it was his fault for what happened to eevee and he had no business in the forest. This didn't really get through to him in words, considering the language barrier between humans and pokemon, but he got the general idea and apologized for what happened. Aipom motioned Eric to come closer, so he got down on one knee and was about at her height. She took a couple steps forward and suddenly started scratching at his face.

"Aaahh, that hurts!!!" he yelled out as he fell backwards from the assault. "Hey, I already apologized! What was that for?!" She yelled at him again saying that she won't forgive him after some stupid apology. She then pointed to the E.R. door then a threatening motion to him saying if he dies, then she's going to kill him. Eric got the idea and suggested they sit down and wait for the nurse to come back.

Two hours passed since they took eevee in the emergency room. Nurse Joy finally came back from treating eevee. Eric and aipom jumped from their seats with worried looks. "Is the eevee going to be okay, Nurse Joy?" Eric asked.

"Well, despite all the damage that was done, he's going to make a full recovery. "she said cheerfully. "But I need to know what happened to him. Is this your eevee?" Eric hesitated a little before answering. He told Nurse Joy the whole story. "Oh, I see. You should know better than to go in a forest full of pokemon without having one yourself." she said sternly. Eric looked down at the floor, feeling even worse.

"Can we see him?" Eric asked still looking down.

"I'm sorry, but you can't see him now. You can come back tomorrow after he's gotten some rest." This didn't go so well with aipom. She tried to persuade Nurse Joy to let her in, but she wouldn't allow it. Eric told aipom that they would come back tomorrow like the nurse said and there was nothing more that they could do.

End Flashback

Since then, they have been going to the pokemon center everyday to check on him. Nurse Joy came back from the hall and said "Good news, the eevee you brought in has woken up. You can see him now."

This made Eric feel relieved, like a huge weight being lifted from his shoulders. Nurse Joy made a motion for him to go to the room eevee was in. Eric made his way down the hall and stopped at the forth door on the left. He was about to open the door, but then he saw aipom crying over eevee through the little window in the door and thought it was best to give them a little privacy. After about ten minutes have passed, he checked on them again. This time they were just sitting together in silence. Eric thought that now was the best time to go in.

The door opened. Eevee and aipom looked over at the opening door to see Eric walk through. They watched him as he slowly made his way over to the chair by the bed. There was long pause before Eric could think of some thing to say. "So...are you feeling any better?" Eric asked finally. Eevee gave a short nod and smiled. He then tried to get up again, but he couldn't find the strength to do so. "Hey, don't push yourself." Eric said. "I'm sure you'll be out of here after a few more days of rest." Aipom gave Eric a "how would you know look" and was about to say something, but thought it was best not to get in an argument here.

"Um, eevee. I'm...sorry for getting you hurt like this. It was my fault. I knew I shouldn't have gone in the forest by myself. I didn't think it would be all that dangerous." Eric said looking at the floor. Eevee didn't see it that way. He knew that the beedrill were causing trouble for the whole forest. Eevee tried to tell him that it wasn't completely his fault, but again, language barrier. Though he looked up at the sound of eevee talking, he didn't understand what he was trying to tell him. Just then, nurse Joy walked in the room.

"Hello." she said looking at Eric. "I'm just here to change the eevee's bandages." Coming in the room behind her was Blissey. She rolled in a small tray with some fresh bandages and a jar of cream that speeds up the healing process in pokemon. The cream was a mixture of hyper-potion and lotion. (Good for the skin and the body.) They both walked over to the opposite side of the bed Eric was sitting and began their work. While eevee was being changed, Eric was trying to think of a way to make it up to eevee and aipom. Eevee jumped a little as blissey rubbed some of the cream in his fur, which also made her jump a little as well.

"I'm sorry, did that hurt?" Blissey asked in concern.

"No, it was just a little cold. I wasn't ready for it" Eevee responded.

"Oh. Is there any other place that hurts?"

"Most of the pain is on my sides and my back." With that said, blissey began rubbing some cream on eevee's back and sides. A few minutes later, the nurses had finished changing eevee and were on their way out the room.

"Let me know if you need anything." nurse Joy said as she was walking out the room.

When the door closed, Eric looked out the window behind him. The sun had already set and it was getting late. He turned back around to face aipom and eevee. He thought about how he was going to make it up to eevee one more time in his head. "Yeah, I think it'll be okay." he thought to himself. Now all that's left to do is see if eevee will go along with it. "Hey, eevee, I was thinking. Would it be okay for you and aipom to, uh, come... live with me when you get better. I want to repay you two for what you did and I'm sure those beedrill will come looking for guys once they recover. So, uh..." His voice trailed off to silence.

There was a long awkward silence between them. Aipom and eevee were shocked by what he was asking. They had never been in a humans home before and they were being asked to live with one they had just met. Aipom jumped off the bed and moved to Eric. Then she grabbed his hand and pulled on it. Eric got up from the chair and let the aipom guide him toward the door. She used her tail to open the door and told him to wait outside the best she could. Eric got the idea and sat in the chair outside the door. Aipom closed the door and made her way back to the bed. Eevee had a confused look on his face when she got back.

"Why did you do that?" he asked confused.

"Did you hear what he just said?" aipom asked with a hint of anger in her voice.

"Yeah, he wants us to live with him after I get all better."

"Don't you think there's something wrong here? We just met this human, and he wants us to live with him?!" aipom shouted.

"Well he did say that he wanted to repay us. It couldn't hurt just to-"

"What?!" aipom said cutting him off. "Live with the human who put you here? How's that gonna make anything better?" Eevee hesitated before answering her question. he wasn't sure if going along with it was a good idea. He thought about it for a little while and finally answered

"I don't know if it's gonna make anything better than it already is, but I think we can trust him enough to let him take us into his home." Aipom didn't take the answer so well. She stood on the bed in shock by what she just heard. Her face turned red a moment later and she jumped off the bed. She stomped around the room quietly yelling to herself under her breath.

Eevee watched as aipom stomped around the room. He was a little afraid that she might put him in a worse state than he is now to keep him in the pokemon center. After a couple minutes of venting, the aipom cooled off and went back to the bed. She lied down on her back with her eyes closed next to eevee and took another minute before saying anything else to him.

"Are you sure you want to do this? There's no turning back once you decide." Eevee thought about Eric's proposal one last time in his head. He told aipom to bring Eric back inside. Aipom did as she was told and brought Eric back in the room. Eric stood near the foot of the bed looking a little uneasy. "So, did you think about what I said?" Eevee gave a small nod. "What's your answer?"
