We are Furies
This is a poignant piece of writing I came up with to help both myself and others understand the passion that flows through our core and what makes us who we are.
Many people wonder who, and even what, we are. I can't blame them for wondering, as we live in a world where self-expression is questioned and looked as some kind of mental illness. By displaying our inner soul and desires to the world, we are considered to be crazy, but I would like to believe that we are brave. Rather than putting on the mask of conformity given to us by society to hide our destiny, we throw down the barriers that hide our hearts and become something more. Our desires to find peace, love, and comfort become our fur. Our unquenchable spirit gives wings, claws, and strength. It transform us, making us as free and wild as the animal we become. Every soul longs to be free, and we have found a way to fulfill this desire. That is why we are who we are. We are Furies, and we stand up for a better life.
