A DAY BY THE RIVER
Jake awoke to the soft snoring of his mate. His head laid upon the purple chest of his mate whose obsidian scale glittered softly in the early morning light. He gave a soft sigh rising from his mate and sliding out of the bed.
He walked out to the balcony over looking the deep blue lake that flowed thru the forest. Jake watched the river flow catching the morning suns rays causing it to look like thousands upon thousands of diamonds. So lost in thought Jake didn't hear his mate walk up behind him.
Darky softly wrapped Jake into his strong arms. He heard Jake gasp in shock when his arms wrapped him into their embrace.
Darky softly whispered in his mates ear "beautiful is it not my mate."
Jake leaned back into the embrace reveling in the warmth radiating off of his mates embrace. He closed his eyes listening to the steady and strong rhythm of Darky's heart.
"Why don't we have lunch by the river today my mate?"

Jake saw his mate look over at him the light in his eyes dim and fading. In that look Jake saw three things: pleading, despair, and love. Jake heard a soundly loud 'snapping' sound and his mate's body going limp.

Jake snapped up to a sitting position drenched in a cold sweat screaming "Noooooooooo".
Darky was immediately aroused by his mates scream of terror. He quickly looked around thinking maybe someone had intruded into their lair. After a few moments he realized no one was there he turned towards Jake seeing a far off look in his eyes and his body coated in a thick layer of sweat.

After a few moment when Jake didn't respond he wrapped him into a tight embrace. He felt Jake's body shivering in only what he could guess was fear as their lair was a rather comfy temperature.
"Jake my love are you ok?"
Jake unsteadily moved his hand to gently caress his mate's face. He heard a soft murr from behind him. Jake quickly spun around his mate's arm wrapping his arms tightly around his mate burying his face in Darky's chest. He began to sob violently at realizing it was all just a horrible dream and his mate. His love was still with him.
Darky softly stroked Jake's back offering gentle reassurances to his mate. After many minutes Darky softly pushed his mate away. He looked into his lovers eyes gentle kissing him.
"Do you want to tell me about it?"
"NO" Jake excitedly shouted.
"I don't even want to think about it if I don't have to. It was too horrible."
Jake averted his eyes from his mates feeling fresh tears start to form in his eyes.
Darky leaned forward pressing Jake back down onto the bed enwrapping him in another tight embrace pressing his maw into his mates. Their tongues softly slid across each others and low moan escaped from Jake.
Jake pushed away from his mate a soft sigh escaping him. I have to get back to work in a little bit but I will be back tonight.
Darky silently nodded his head clearing his throat in the process.
"When will you be back love?"

When Jake arrived at the electronic shop Grandpa and Foo were busy taking inventory. As he approached the counter his grandpa turned towards him.

He finally managed to meekly say "Rose?"

Side notes
For those who haven't really watched the TV show Rose is a girl that Jake likes and dated when in human form but was mortal enemies in his dragon form. Jake found out her true identity and later revealed himself to her after which she disappeared. That said I'm not really into the whole rape thing but I felt it kinda necessary to progress the plot. Soon I will be introducing my character in up coming chapters so keep your eyes peeled for him :D
