What is Targöht Global?

Oh, you didn't know? Now may be a good time to inform you. Though our hero Kavik works inside a Targöht location, he isn't actually_a Targöht worker, nor is Eliza. It's kinda confusing at first, but bear with me. The two of them are considered 'Targöht Global', or just 'Global' for short, which is what most refer to them as. They are outsourced workers who are employed by a different company, but are stationed _inside Targöht locations in order to sell Targöht's more expensive stuff. Their main focus point is selling travel insurance to old people.

There are a few key differences between regular Targöht workers, and Targöht Global. First and foremost is their uniform. The standard Targöht uniform is a bright orange top with white pants. Targöht Global keeps the white pants, but exchanges the orange top for a brown one. Their name tags are different, too, but nobody ever seems to notice.

Another great thing about Targöht Global is, since they are outsourced employees, it isn't actually in their job description to help with basic customer needs. In fact, their boss has told them time and time again, "Help the customer only if you think you can get a sale!" Sale is the keyword. Targöht Global workers are salespeople, not customer service associates. Being a salesperson, it was expected for Targöht Global workers to approach each and every customer with the intent of getting them to buy something they otherwise "didn't know they needed."

The best part about Targöht Global is that the regular 'Orange Shirt' employees, and their bosses, have zero authority over Global. Targöht Global is their own company, with their own mission, and their own boss, separate from the regular Targöht crew. Kavik and Eliza happen to be lucky, for their boss was always far too busy doing boss-y, manager-y stuff and is rarely present at the store. As such, Global almost has free range throughout the store. They're free to work how they want, help who they want, and (maybe THIS is the best part)... Not help the customers who are absolutely bitchy-bitches.

Since Global is an outsourced company, whenever customers are sassy or rude and threaten "Lemme speak to your manager!" or "I'll have you fired!" those are all meager idle threats. Remember, Global doesn't answer to the regular Targöht crew, and they let the 'valued customer' know that. Still, that didn't stop certain butt-mad customers from demanding to speak to a regular Targöht / Orange Shirt manager anyway, but they would always give the upset customer the same answer: "Sorry, but Global is different from Targöht. They are a totally different company and we have no power over them."

Armed with this knowledge, Kavik and Eliza have become somewhat of 'workplace heroes' back in the Tech section. Whenever people get rude and indignant, they could swoop in, tell the customer how rude they were being, and save the day without_the worry of losing their job. The _only_downside... was that they have a monthly quota. If you fall short on that, you're not long for Targöht Global. What's even worse is that on the rare occasion their boss _did show up, it was God awful. I'll spare you the details here, but you'll soon come to feel their pain.

Now that you are armed with some knowledge of your own, let's go back and join Kavik and Eliza on their adventures.
