Unlimited Sky
Ch.3 Desire
by Mangy Mutt

Stars...fall. It's inevitable. Call it nature, call it fate; but sooner or later it has to happen. Some stars are average and meant to burn on throughout time, but then...there are stars that have been born with a gift above others. They burn brilliantly for a short but single purpose, and then they fade away into darkness. Truth had yet to find out which kind he was.

"RATUN...METEOR..." Truth whispered.

His body burst into bubbling flames. The flames roared and swelled rapidly until they became a massive sphere of liquid fire. The monstrosity soared down towards the Red Eagles ship. They screamed in horror and tried to move the ship out of his way. Pointless...There was no escape from Truth. His meteor swallowed the ship, incinerating it to nothing in an instant.

The fire dissipated and his body changed back to normal. He turned and kicked the air causing a small explosion of fire that sent him flying towards the next ship. They fired on him while he fell; bullets, cannon fire, they all melted away when they hit his body. He landed on the deck. The metal beneath his feet bubbled up and turned red from his heat.

The Red Eagles on board backed away from him cautiously. He could sense their fear. They knew that they were helpless against him. They knew that they couldn't hope to stop a star. One of them started flinching nervously; a fox with a broadsword. The soldier stared at Truth and bit his lip in anger.

Truth looked at him. "You want me dead?"

"Murderer!" The fox spat.

"Muderer...? I am a liberator. Don't you wish to be free of this lie?"

"Shut up!"

"Come...Let me free you..."

The man screamed and swung his sword. It struck Truth in the side. The blade melted into nothing when it hit him, leaving no sign on his cloaked body.

"Lace get away! He'll kill you!"

Truth's hand shot out. He caught the vulpine by the face and dug into his skull. "Be...Free!" His hand erupted into fire and the man's blood curdling scream split the air when his face started melting.

"Lace!" the soldiers screamed.

The other eagles tried to stop Truth. One of them grabbed his arm. The soldier screamed in agony when his hands melted away after touching him. Others suffered the same fate after getting to close to his body.

"EAGLES! STAND DOWN!" a female voice barked. "You're no match for that man!"

A massive warship flew up next to the Eagle's ship. The steam from the motors spouted and cooled down and a group jumped on board. The soldiers backed away and three figures walked up; a female collie and two bears. The blonde collie was dressed in a silver breastplate inscribed with complex glowing symbols. Beneath that she was wearing a short cut gray skirt. Both of the black furred bears were wearing brown trousers and golden breastplates decorated similar to the females; although the tallest bear's symbols were much more elaborate than the others. Each one of them was wearing a boot length overcoat with large white straps starting at the shoulders and running down the sleeves. The female's coat was a dark gray and both of the bears were wearing a greenish brown.

All three of them looked tired and beat up. The taller of the two bears was slumping, while he held a hand to a bloody crack in his armor. He drew in hard ragged breaths.

Truth looked them over. "Ah...more survivors. I didn't think there would be that many children of Genesis left after that battle."

The collie turned to the taller of the two. "Raz...Take the soldiers and leave on our ship."

"But Neyra we have back up coming! Jah should be here soon. We just need to hold them off."

"No..." she whispered. "Jah's not coming."

"What?!"

"He asked me to cover for his patrol as well as ours."

"He did what?! Why the hell did you agree to this?"

She looked away. "I..."

"Raz." The other bear shook his head. "It's too late to worry about that. You have to leave now...Brother, this is Truth we're facing. Genesis needs to know what happened. That means one of us has to make it backâ€"ALIVE!" he screamed and rushed towards Truth.

"Josiah NO!" Raz yelled and tried to stop him.

"Raz! GO NOW!" Neyra screamed.

Raz paused for a second looking confused. Then he urged the soldiers to follow him and set the warship in motion. The cylinders sputtered for a second and started expelling the steam again. It lurched forward and started moving.

Truth looked at the warship and lifted his hand.

"Oh no you don't!!!" Josiah called. "MATUN! IRON!!!"

The bears skin rippled and turned a dull gray. Each step he took made a loud metallic clang on the ship's deck. He struck Truth in the chest with all his strength.

Truth flinched and the man pulled back from him. The metal skin of his arm glowed bright orange and bubbled as it began to melt. He twisted his arm and the hot metal covering it shattered and fell to the ground, leaving his limb underneath unharmed.

Truth was surprised the Genesis child had avoided getting melted by touching him. His flames had stopped the brunt of the blow, but he'd come close to having his core struck.

"I guess you can be hit," said the bear. "Everyone talks about you being invincible."

Truth lifted his arm up and pointed it. His arm melted away and became a bubbling mass of gas and liquid fire.

"RATUN...MELTDOWN." Truth whispered.

He swung his arm and flames spread out and swirled, becoming a thick pillar of roaring fire. It came down towards Josiah melting through one of the masts. He dodged it and leapt on top of the hut in the middle of the ship. The flames crackled and changed direction. They caught up to him in an instant. All the mythic could do was stare; the fire was too fast for him.

"JATUN! TEMPEST!" the collie yelled.

She drew forth her sword and swung it. The air distorted and started to spin. It formed into several spinning discs of wind. They flew through the air and sliced through the fire pillar making it break apart.

Truth pulled his arm back and stared at her. "Why do you resist me?" She glared at him. Truth looked up at the sky. "I was like you once. Naïve, and mislead. Why don't you realize your fighting over a lie? It'sâ€""

"MATUN! ANVIL!"

Josiah's arm turned silver this time. His arm swelled me the metal grew larger until it became the size of a boulder. He spun his body to gain momentum and struck Truth.

Truth didn't even move to block. The metal hit him so hard that the metal deck cracked beneath his feet, making him double over.

Josiah grinned "You're not so tough after all!"

"Out of the way!" Neyra called. Josiah pulled back from the stunned Truth. The woman swung her sword in an arc. The air rippled so hard that the ship shook underneath them. Strong gusts of wind formed around her arms as she gripped her sword.

"JATUN!!! GALE BLADE!!!"

The wind compressed and formed into an ethereal blade extending from her sword. It sliced through the air and cut Truth right below the waist. There was a burst of flame and Truth was cut in half. His body fell to the deck in pieces.

Josiah rushed over to her side. "Quick! We need to find an escape ship!"

Neyra was stunned. "I-I beat him? I beat him we should be okay right!?"

Josiah gripped her arms and shook her. "Godamnit Neyra you can't kill Truth that easy heâ€""

There was a flash of sparks and everything went still. The man let go of her and stopped to look down at the flaming spear protruding from his chest. He dropped to his knees and clutched at it.

"JOSIAH!!!" Neyra screamed.

She looked over to see Truth still standing there unharmed. The pieces of what she'd thought was his body burst into flame and disappeared. He held out his hand and produced an exact copy of himself. He snapped his fingers and it disintegrated into sparks. "I swear you children are so easily fooled."

She ignored him. She shook the bear. "C'mon Jos! Get up! GET UP!!!" Neyra yelled at her dying companion. His mouth moved wordlessly and then the life left his eyes. She looked up with tears running down her face.

"RAAAWRRR!" the collie screamed and swung her sword at Truth.

"JATUN! STâ€""

Truth grabbed her throat before she could finish the incantation. He squeezed harder and she dropped her sword and grasped at her neck. She gasped and tried to yell but nothing came out. Her eyes rolled back and she passed out.

Truth dropped her and turned towards the fleeing ship with the fleeing Red Eagles on board. It was fading into the distance. He pointed his hand at it and his arm turned to bubbling flames. The arm expelled gas and began to swell until it became a large bubbling sack of oozing fire.

"RATUN! METEOR SHOWER!"

His arm exploded, shooting out hundreds of flaming chunks. They streamed through the air taking on the appearance of a spray of shooting stars. They rained down on the fleeing ship. Dozens of explosions lit up the ship's disappearing figure. Pieces of it were destroyed and melted through, but it was too far away to receive the full force of the attack. Despite the flames lighting the hull it managed to stay intact. But it slowed down to a mere crawl.

Truth closed his eyes. He had to make sure. There could be no survivors. "You won't get away...I'll chase you down to hell and back for believing in that lie." He prepared to fire towards the ship when he felt another presence.

"Truth...Let it go," said a female voice.

He turned to see another cloaked figure walking towards him. She was much shorter than him and each step she took left a trail of puddles on the deck. A long scaly tail extended from the foot of her cloak.

"And why would I do that Arrogance?"

"We have more urgent matters."

"Such as?" he asked.

"We have business in Zeta. The hubris himself sent the order."

Truth went silent. He shrugged and picked up the collapsed collie.

"I saw you choke her. You didn't use your fire...Why?"

"She may be useful alive."

"Tsk tsk. Your losing your touch," she snickered.

Truth looked around. "Where's the ship?"

To answer his question the air distorted beneath the ship they were on. A large shadow appeared. The darkness pulled back exposing the massive multi decked ship. Its multiple cylinders sucked in and out. Instead of producing steam it instead expelled jets of blue flames for propulsion. The hull was adorned with different symbols carved into its side and on the massive red dragon head that peaked the helm.

Truth and the cloaked woman jumped overboard and dropped towards the dark ship. They both landed and dozens of ebony armored soldiers milled about them.

"Master Truth! Mistress Arrogance! At your command!" they barked.

Arrogance giggled. "I never get tired of that." She turned to them and they saluted. "MEN! Set a course towards Zeta the prison island! Those are our orders!"

"Yes mistress!" they called and ran about preparing the ship.

One of them approached Truth. His black armor was much more elaborate than the others. Its polished surface was covered in spikes and horns which flexed in and out with his plates as they expelled tiny wisps of flame. He saluted with his arm across his chest.

"My liege," he addressed Truth. "What about the Eagles' ship. Shouldn't we check it for survivors?"

"SOLAR FLARE!"

Truth kicked out and his leg became a jet of white fire. The fire flashed and shot from his foot making the sky blindingly bright. There was a pause and the air rippled into a massive explosion. White fire consumed everything. There was not a single trace left of the ship they'd just left except for a few cinders.

Truth lowered his leg. "...There are no survivors." He threw the woman in his hand to one of the soldiers and made his way to the stairs.

Arrogance broke out into maniacal laughter. "Now there's the Truth I know! For a minute there I thought you were going soft."

The fire armored soldier stared after Truth in awe. "So this is it," he said in a low trembling voice. "This is the strength. This is the strength of the man who killed Roy The Fallen Star and gained his power!"

He was back on the beach. Back home...A voice called him and he turned to see the tiny kangaroo.

"Jah you shrimp!" Roy laughed.

"Shut up! Ai'm gonna be bigger than you one day! Just wait!"

"Yeah, whatever midget. And stop talking like that. You're starting to sound like the locals with that accent."

"But Ai loike the way they talk."

"If you say so."

"Hey look what teacher gave me!" said Jah. He produced a large brown akubra hat and plopped it on his head. It slid down and covered his face.

"Hahaha! It's still too big for you midget. And what's with saying teacher this teacher that. Just say the name."

"Ummmmm. Ai lokie sayin teacher better," Jah laughed.

Roy shook his head. "You're hopeless." He looked off at the blue water lapping against the sand. The white waves splashed soaking their legs. Roy stared hard at a single spot He pointed two fingers and flame ignited at their tips. He twitched and shot a bolt of fire far out into the water. He waited and a fish floated to the top with a hole in its body.

"Owow! Coool!" Jah pointed his fingers and tried to imitate Roy. He waited but nothing happened.

Roy plucked Jah's head. "You knuckle head you can't do that yet. Hell if it wasn't for this island being protected you'd be near death for being on land."

Jah frowned and flexed his tiny arms. "I'm going to become strong! Teacher's gonna help me. I'll even be able to walk on land one day."

"Tsk. Good luck with that kid.

Jah stared out across the water. At the very end he could see the edge of the floating island where the water fell off. "What's it loike out there?"

"Huh? Oh yeah midget you never have been off the island have you?" Jah shook his head and Roy smiled. "It's a whole different experience out there. We're just one little spec in this large world. After the Rising, the land split into hundreds of pieces so there are so many islands out there besides ours."

Jah gasped. "Wooow! Ai wanna see em all."

"Not gonna happen."

"Huh?"

Roy frowned. "Exodus. They hunt our kind Jah. Remnants of the world before the Rising. They see our existence as a sin. Our birthright Jah as children of the elements. That's why we and the Red Eagles are at war with them."

Jah puffed out his chest. "I don't care! I'm not gonna let anyone stop me! I'll have my own adventure and see every Island! An' if they try and stop me then Ai'll fight Exodus off myself, an' Ai'll beat every single one of them!!!"

Roy burst into laughter. "Ahahaha! Yeah right kid. YOU? You're going to destroy Exodus?!"

Jah pulled the hat up and grinned. "I won't let anyone get in my way."

Roy stared at him hard and then rolled his eyes. "You're too much like teacher."

Jah went quiet and stared at his brother. "Hey Roy..."

"Yeah?"

"Why didn't teacher join Genesis with you?"

Roy frowned. "Because teacher thinks staying in hiding is the best option. But I refuse to live my life in fear. I have things that I have to fight for. You, all the innocents in this war, and...and..." He went quiet. Roy dug into his pocket and placed something in Jah's hand. "Little brother...Do me a favor. There's someone special to me. I want you to protect her because...I may not always be around. If I can't be around I want you to become strong so you can watch over her..."

Jah smiled and looked at the red pearl in his hand. "Ooh it's shiny. Sure thing big bro!"

They could hear voices calling in the distance.

"It's Boillere and Teacher!" Jah exclaimed.

There was darkness. He snapped back to reality. Truth opened his eyes. A warm Bubbling indigo liquid washed up against his nude body. He was back in the chamber now, standing in the middle of the pond.

There was a splash and the purple liquid rippled. Truth felt something brush by him beneath the surface. There was another ripple and a figure rose from the water right in front of him. The figure was female. Just her head was peaked out first, but ever slowly she stood exposing inch after inch of her slender body. First her breasts appeared. They were small but her pink nipples perked up at him. Then her slender waist came into view followed by her hips. It was a lupine. The rabbit's snow white fur seemed untouched by the purple liquid; it simply evaporated off of her fur. Her gray eyes stared up at him in amusement.

"Arrogance." Truth whispered, recognizing her without her robes.

"You've been standing there for hours." The echoes of her voice bounced back and forth. She started inching forward. She stopped to stare at Truth's naked human form. "This place is special you know." She combed her fingers through the liquid.

Truth looked down. "The source of Exodus's alchemies. It allows us to blend the elements granted to the children of Genesis."

Arrogance nodded and grinned. "It also has another trait...It brings forth and manifests the true desire of a person. Knowledge, strength, understanding, and lust..." she murred saying the last word dangerously slow.

"...I have no desire," Truth whispered

"Oh but you do. You've been calling out names. Terry, Angela, and Jah."

"The living cannon..."

"Yesss." She hissed. "Roy, the one you killed. That was his brother. Are you having regrets?"

"Never. Having regret is from living with lies. I am Truth."

She met him face to face. Arrogance pulled back his reddish orange hair to stare at his blue eyes. She trailed a hand along his chest making him flinch. "Then maybe you're having an echo. A mythic's power is linked to their soul. So when you gained that man's power you gained everything." She leaned up and mashed her wet body against his and kissed him. "All his thoughts." She kissed him again and held it longer. "All his memories." This time she kissed him as hard as she could letting her tongue graze against his.

His lip quivered and he felt heat flush through his body. But it was not the same as his power. It was different. An image flashed through his head. At first it was just a shadow, but then it began to take shape. Red hair, autumn brown fur, and eyes a mix of hazel and green. The squirrel turned to face him and he felt the heat in his body increase.

"Terry..." he moaned. Arrogance moaned when she felt his strong grip on her rump. "Yesss..." she moaned.

Without warning he hoisted her up so that she was straddling him. He pressed his already throbbing meat against her slit. She gasped and bit her lips feeling him rub up against her clit. Arrogance gripped Truth's shoulders and sunk herself down on his cock. She pushed her hips to him harder feeling every inch force its way in. He spread her legs for support while he hammered into her cunny. Her hips moved in a mesmerizing pace rolling and grinding against his every stroke.

"Hah," she yelped feeling him hilt inside her while he grabbed her waist. Truth kicked his feet in the liquid to paddle them both back to the edge of the pool. He finally reached it and leaned her drenched body up against the slope of the basin they were in.

He squeezed and cupped her soft flesh and sunk deep into her. She gasped and her cunny quivered around his warm meat. Truth couldn't stop thrusting. All he felt was heat in his body; an unbearable heat that needed to be quenched. And her body felt cool to the touch. Her hard nipples felt ice cold poking against his chest. His power flowed into his body involuntarily heating him up. Arrogance body responded and only became colder. Steam began to rise from the places where he touched her.

"Nggggh." She moaned and squirmed feeling his hot flesh dig into her belly deeper and deeper. Her insides spasmed from all his heat filling her. She cried out and dug her nails into his back as her orgasm hit. Her velvet walls gripped his shaft fiercely during her climax. He grunted and started pounding into her harder making wet sloppy sounds from their mashing wet bodies.

The liquid around them didn't ripple at all from their movement. It instead began to glow a bright pink. Everything suddenly intensified. Sensations shot through his body and his cock pulsed hard. He grunted and came. It felt like it lasted forever. Wave after wave of pleasure and desire filled him while he shot thick ropes of his seed inside her. He pulled out and came again shooting a thick jet of his warm cum onto her belly. He gasped and stared at his dick still covered in her juices and at his jizz trailing out from her pussy. He could barely breathe with the intensified feelings going throughout his body.

Arrogance pulled herself up and grabbed him. She closed her lips on the head of his meat kissing him and working it slowly at first. Then she began to devour him. Her long tongue lapped over his cock and down to his sac. She deep throated him taking him all the way down to the hilt. This sent him over the edge. Stars exploded into his vision and the liquid around them glowed even brighter. He was in pure ecstasy. She coughed feeling his warm jizz fill her mouth and slide down her throat. It was too much. He gasped once more before crumpling into the pool with a splash and blacking out.

"My Liege! My liege come quick!"

He snapped back to and looked around the pool, but Arrogance had already left.

"If you're looking for the Mistress she is already up top."

"You're not supposed to be down HERE!!!" Truth snapped.

The soldier recoiled in fear. "I'm s-sorry my liege butâ€""

Truth sighed. "I'll be there just go back up top."

"Yessir!"

He rushed to strap on all of his clothing. Truth paused when he draped the cloak over his body. What had that image been...The squirrel? Who was she to make him react to Arrogance like that? He heard yells up top and decided to worry about it later.

He dashed up the stairs and kicked the doors open. He came face to face with Arrogance. She had an annoyed look on her face. She pulled her hood back on and turned. She drew his attention from the yelling soldiers to the sky. Above the clouds they could see flashing lights of green and blue. There was a loud roar and they saw a large metal tail whip beneath the clouds.

"How did the yarhei get here?" asked Truth.

"I'm guessing they were sent here with some of the other ships. Dragons for air support no doubt." said Arrogance

A bright flash of blue pulsed in the sky. It exploded with a loud crack and there was a piercing wail. Silence...Then they looked up to see the body of the yarhei dragon plummeting from the sky. Its body had been torn in half.

Truth frowned seeing a glimpse of the fleeing eagles' ship. "Men! We have enemy stragglers! Alert the other ships and give pursuit!"

"Aye sir!" they voiced back

"Here comes one know," said Arrogance

Another ship approached them at break neck speed. Its flames dulled down to a mere simmer when it came close enough.

"Permission to board!" called voices from the other ship.

"Granted!" Truth responded. He wanted answers.

A group of soldiers boarded the ship. They were not dressed like the usual army of Exodus. Their armor was dull gray and plain with no markings whatsoever. They were carrying a pale man with a hardened face. He was bleeding all over and steam spouted from various cracks in his armor. It was air armor by the look of it. He was very familiar with the handiwork of Exodus's alchemists. They dropped the man in front of him and Truth frowned recognizing the face.

"Tavin," he muttered. "So do you care to explain why we've come to find this island in such chaos...?"

Tavin tried to speak but he only spat up blood when he opened his mouth. He coughed and cringed in pain.

"Arrogance..." Truth whispered.

She turned away. "Why should I? He's too weak to serve us. He doesn't deserve to live."

Tavin glared at her and tried to yell only to start coughing again.

Truth grabbed her arm. "Arrogance this isn't the time...I'm not going to ask again." His hand heated and smoke began to rise from where he'd grabbed her arm.

Her eyes grew wide and she stared from him to Tavin. She sighed and walked over to the bleeding man. "Pathetic." She grabbed his face.

"KATUN. REFRESH.

His body broke out into an uncontrollable sweat. Liquid streamed out from the pores of his skin and leaked down to cover his entire body. Everywhere the liquid touched the cuts and wounds of his body closed up and re knit until his flesh looked as if it had never been harmed. He coughed one last time and then gasped in shock. He stood up drawing deep breaths and straightened himself out.

"Thank you my liege Iâ€""

Truth cut him off by pressing two fingers to his forehead. He slowly heated them just enough to make Tavin cringe.

"Explain now before I shoot."

Arrogance sighed. "Honestly. Why the hell have me heal him if you were just gonna kill him off anyway?"

Tavin winced. "It was the living cannon."

"What about him?"

"He came and rescued some prisoners andâ€""

"And you failed to stop him," Truth said coldly. He got ready to fire.

"W-wait! Wait! There was something else. A mythic! A bat! She had the symbols on her body. T-the genesis symbols!"

Arrogance shrugged. "So what the children have these symbols all the time. Just kill him Truth."

"No it wasn't just one symbol!!!"

Truth and Arrogance both froze. He withdrew his fingers from Tavin's forehead and grabbed him. "What did you just say? Don't Lie!"

"I swear it! She had all five of the symbols on her body!"

Truth stared at him through the slits in his veil and then dropped him. "Interesting...Tell me..." He squatted to come face to face with Tavin. "...Tell me everything you know about this mythic."
