This story deals with the religious and hate issues against gay couples. I am writing this novel to speak out about this problem, and it's time to be accepting of others. Love is love, and if somebody is happy, you should let them be happy, no matter your views. I hope everyone enjoys this new novel. It is something personal to me. If you enjoyed, why not leave a Fave, or Vote? Any positive criticism is good criticism, and I welcome it! So go ahead and comment with any suggestions, and tag anything I might've forgotten!

Part 2

12/10/1949- New Fur- Fourteen Days to the Performance

Everyone had begun to sprint to the sound of the female's shriek within an instant, pushing past the petrified white lion and making their way backstage. The ferret conductor was the first to reach the small wooden door and throw it wide open, practically flying from the center of the stage, pushing his cast out of the way as he snakes behind the curtain and jumps into the small, cold and damp room. Jean however, moves lackadaisically, almost in a trance, too stunned at what he had witnessed.

Unable to believe that his best friend was engaging in an act as terrible as this, the white-lion stands a bit away from the crowd and peers over everyone's shoulders into the small chamber, being almost a head taller than any other fur.

_Ralik...how long have you been a homosexual? How long have you been meeting this stagehand? Why haven't you ever told me...your best friend?_Jean thinks to himself.

Susan and Charlene move quickly to stand next to the tall and slim lion, however, neither of them seem to care about what was going on in the small room, rather, they were both looking at Jean expectantly as the large male stares straight ahead, lost in thought.

"What's wrong?" The ferret conductors shrill voice echoes around the empty room as a female Jaguar runs up the stone stairs, her green dress clenched tightly in both paws above her ankles to keep her from tripping.

"Disgusting! They are going to hell for this! Homosexuals...in our theater! Arrest them!" She growls as she stomps out of the small and now crowded stone room, bringing a paw up to a silver necklace around her neck and clenching it tight. It was of a small, diamond jeweled cross resting on her bust.

"Genie! What do you mean? Homosexuals?" The ferret asks, his eyes growing wide as he watches the female jaguar prowl out and bump the cast with her shoulders, pushing them out of her way as she growls and stalks up to Jean.

"Your best friend is going to jail." She spits into the white-lion's muzzle as she points a finger up to the tall male, fangs bared. "You better watch yourself, Jean. I'm going to have my eye on you now. A friend of a homosexual is a subject to investigation." She pushes past the speechless white-lion and makes her way to the woman's changing room down the hall. Turning and pushing the small wooden door open, she disappears from sight.

"Nobody move!" The ferret yells as the cast starts talking, the level of conversation growing louder and louder as the news of what happened spread from fur to fur like a plague.

"We will all wait for the Opera House Guards. Jean! Come with me!" The conductor barks to the lion as he sets a footpaw on the top step and gestures the tall male forward with a paw.

Jean stares straight ahead as he walks through the crowd of furs, his tail dragging on the black wood of the backstage. The sound of his padded footpaws muffled below him as his heart beats in his throat, echoing up through his ears. The cast of furs seemed to part out of his way, like the red sea did for Moses in the bible. All of them staring at the white-lion as he makes his way through the door and to the conductor, standing next to the tall ferret.

"Jean, stay there." The conductor says as he hurries behind the white lion and ushers a wolf and a ram out of the small room, leaving only him and Jean alone in the room above Ralik and the stagehand.

"No one is to enter except for the guards when they arrive!" The ferret calls, and, without another word, shuts the small wooden door tight.

"Jean. I know this will be hard on you and I know Ralik is your best friend. That's why I want to do this with just us. Keep it private." The ferret rests a paw up on the white-lions shoulder as Jean hangs his head and nods, his ears perking as he hears movement from the bottom of the stairs.

"Thank you, Benjamin." He says with a trembling voice as he turns his head and glances at the ferret next to him.

"Jean. I want you to know that I have nothing against an individual who is..." He takes a breath, "Homosexual. Ralik is a good wolf, and I didn't know he was...that...either. It's just the laws of the land, and he was caught publicly." Benjamin whispers as he removes his paw from the lion's shoulders and starts walking down the stairs, his brown tail lashing back and forth and his whiskers twitching.

"But why is it this way?" Jean growls low in his chest, the sound reverberating around the empty stone room as he stays rooted to the top of the stairs. The tall and slim muscled lion opens and closes his paws, clenching them into fists. "Why do people look at homosexuals so differently? Love is love, is it not? I understand the punishment for a public obscenity, but why punish someone for loving another of the same gender?" The white-lion asks as his fur bristles.

"Jean, Genie is a very religious jaguar, and most people are. The bible states that it is wrong to sleep with another of the same sex. Now come down here with me and help me with Ralik." The conductor commands, cutting off the conversation and turning his back to Jean as he starts making his way down the stairs. The ferret's black coat-jacket trailing on the cold stone stares behind him, his tail lashing, disappearing from view as he descends the spiral staircase.

Jean stares down at the stairs, his fists clenched and his claws digging into his palms.

Why would someone who is religious, and Christian, hate on someone who loves another? Isn't that against their religion for being ignorant and showing hate to their neighbor? Doesn't god forgive those who sin and didn't Jesus teach others forgiveness?

Jean seethes inside his head, taking in a large breath and letting it out as he slowly places a footpaw on the stairs. Steeling himself and placing a paw on the wall, the white-lion descends down to confront his best friend. His best...homosexual...friend.

As Jean rounds the spiral staircase his nose flares and his muzzle clenches. The air smelled of the stench of musk and seed of other males. The two different breeds were easily differentiated. The strong overpowering musk of wolf overwhelmed the sweet smell of the badger's seed. The scent of the masculine seed gave Jean a slight rosiness in his cheeks as his tight, black and shimmering stage-pants strained in the front slightly. Taking a deep breath and letting it out through his muzzle, the tall male moves to stand next to Benjamin, steeling himself and crossing his arms as he gazes at the panting and spent duo.

Ralik was sitting on the cold stone floor, his legs spread and knees up as he lays back on his rear, supporting himself with his paws behind him. The wolf's fur was muddied from the ground as he gasps for breath, obviously not recovered yet from the sexual encounter that they had finished not a few minutes ago. Jean's eyes, despite his conscience telling him how wrong it was, are drawn to his friends spent member, causing his cheeks to flush more. Each of Ralik's heartbeats seemed to send the red erection bouncing and throbbing as it leaks what's left of the wolf's seed down to the ground, connecting Ralik's cock to the cold stone with a white strand. The spent male's large knot, about the size of a fist with rather prominent veins protruding out, kept his erection from receding back into his sheathe.

Despite himself, Jean couldn't help but feel his own groin light up with heat. His smaller, feline and barbed member pressing tightly against his stage-pants as he takes in the sight of his friend's rear. Leaking the badger's white seed down to the stone into a small puddle, soaking Ralik's muddied fur in semen.

What am I doing? This is wrong. Getting an erection while looking at another male. Hide it, Jean. This isn't right!

The white-lion chastises himself as he wraps his long black stage-coat around his legs, hiding his prominent bulge and clearing his throat.

Raising his gaze from his panting and blushing best friend, Jean looks to the larger stage-hand, David, leaning on the table.

The Badger's large gut was inflating and deflating with each deep breath. His pink, long, and flat head member bounced with every heartbeat, dripping his sweet-smelling seed to the floor as he clutches at the table with his paws for support. David's scrotum was pulled up tight against him from the coldness of the room after minutes of heat and lust. The afterglow of sex obviously disappearing from both males as their erections slowly start to go limp.

"Ralik..." Jean states, his voice disappearing as he shakes his head and closes his eyes, unable to look at the two furs any longer.

"Jean...Benjamin...please...we can explain..." Ralik pants as he sits up, his knot now small enough to disappear into his sheath, leaving his red shaft in the air as his balls draw up from the cold floor.

"There's no need to, Ralik." Benjamin says softly, his arms crossed as well as he apprehends the two males.

Was that...sympathy...in Benjamin's voice?

The white-lion wonders as he takes another breath of the musky air, his eyes still closed, forcing himself not to puncture his sleeves with his claws as he keeps his arms tightly crossed.

"You can explain to the guards when they arrive. For now, I would suggest you both get dressed." The tall ferret continued, cutting through Jeans thoughts like a knife as the white-lions eyes snap open.

"You called the guards?" The badger groans as he forces himself off the table and stands, his cock still semi-hard, pointing at the ferret and lion and dripping slightly.

"A little hard not to when Genie comes running out screaming." Benjamin states flatly, shrugging his shoulders.

"What'll...happen now?" Ralik asks as he fights to stand, getting on a knee as his member slides fully into his sheath.

Seeing his best-friend struggle with moving, Jean quickly strides over, ignoring his straining bulge as his large black stage-coat flows elegantly behind him. Leaning down to wrap an arm around Ralik's waist, Jean stands, carrying his best friend with him as the wolf blushes and groans as he puts his weight on his footpaws, leaning on the white-lion for support.

Ralik's and Jean's eyes meet for a moment. Both males didn't say anything as the white-lion holds his naked best friend, however, they understood each other without any language being spoken

Jean could see fear and regret in Ralik's eyes.

And Ralik could see sympathy and confusion in Jean's.

From up above, two deep male voices could be heard as the sound of the wooden door opening echoed down the stairs.

"You guys get dressed. I'll go explain to them what has happened here and where Genie is." Benjamin states as he turns, his long tail flicking as he scurries up the spiral staircase.

"Gentlemen! Thank you for coming!" The ferret's squeaky voice could be heard.

David pulls on his long brown and muddied pants with trembling paws as he looks to Jean and Ralik, his eyes wide and blushing deeply as he bends down and picks up his muddied and cum covered shirt. Pulling the white fabric over his head, the badger moves to go to the stairs and perks his ears, listening to the conversation above.

"Jean. I need to tell you everything. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Ralik tears up, crying as he looks to his best-friend, clutching at the tall male's shoulders for support.

"Ralik..." Jean shakes his head. "Ten years. You kept this hidden from me for ten years." The white-lion leans down and helps the wolf into his grey skinny stage-khakis, pulling them up over the smaller male's sheath and buttoning them around his friend's waist.

"Jean. I was so scared. So Scared. I couldn't tell anyone." Ralik states in a shaking voice.

The sound of the two guards coming down the stairs echoed from above, along with Benjamin's shrill voice.

"Genie is off at the woman's changing room for your witness." The ferret chirps.

"Jean. They're going to take us away. For public indecency. For being homosexual. To prison. I need you to visit. I need to tell you everything. Please!" Ralik clutches at the lion's shimmering white shirt, desperately looking into Jean's eyes as tears start to snake down his cheeks.

"I will." Jean nods and rests his forehead on Ralik's, wiping his friend's cheeks of tears as he closes his eyes, enjoying the contact with his childhood best mate. "You're my best friend. I'm sorry this happened. I care for you. You're family." Jean says softly as two polar bear guards appear, standing together at the bottom stair. Benjamin follows the two burly guards and leans up on the balls of his feat to look over the large males' shoulders.

The white-lion bends down and picks up Ralik's light blue and muddied stage dress-shirt and pulls the spent and exhausted wolf's arms through the sleeves, letting the collard garment hang on his best friend.

"Jean. I'm sorry. Please. I need you to visit me. I-I don't know if I'll last." Ralik states, his voice breaking as he slowly buttons the shirt with trembling paws, his fingers slipping at the buttons as he stares into the lion's silver and sparkling eyes.

Jean rests his forehead on Raliks again as he takes his friends shaking paws in his and squeezes them.

"You're my best friend, Ralik. I will visit as often as I can when I'm not working on this opera." The white-lion states as he lets out a hot breath into the wolf's muzzle.

"Sir. You're going to have to come with us." One of the polar bear guards states as he takes a step forward to the two males.

Ralik looks to Jean as he slides his paws out of the large white-lion's and buttons his shirt up. Slowly, wiping his eyes from tears after straightening the shirt, the wolf turns to the guard, and is met with the sight of David in pawcuffs. The badger's paws chained together and hanging in front of his groin.

"Now. Is that really necessary? Pawcuffs?" Benjamin chirps at the polar bears as the one approaching Ralik reaches for his own cuffs.

"It's for everyone's safety" The polar bear nearest the stage hand states.

"And it's regulation." The other bear says as he reaches Ralik. "Paws please."

"It's okay, Benjamin. I don't want any more trouble. I've caused enough as it is." The wolf states as he obediently holds his paws out and looks to the skinny ferret, feeling the cold metal wrap around his wrists as his tail falls between his legs and his ears lay back against his head.

"You were such good colleagues, Ralik, David. I'm sorry this happened." The ferret states as the polar bears start to lead the wolf and the badger up the spiral staircase. Jean and Benjamin follow close behind as the guards open the wooden door, advancing out to the backstage and the mob of cast furs waiting impatiently.

As the guards, Ralik, David, Jean, and Benjamin stride out of the room, the wooden door closing softly behind them, a torrent of insults washes over their ears.

"Homos!"

"Go to hell!"

"Something wrong with their brain!"

Ralik winces and looks down, his ears back and his tail between his legs as tears fall to the dark stage floor. David keeps his head low and closes his eyes as the guard leads him with a paw on his middle back, his shoulders shaking.

"Hey! That's enough, now! Listen to me! That's enough!" Benjamin squeaks as he tries to get the cast members to stop their demeaning slurs. None of them were listening.

"God will strike you down!"

"Disgusting!"

"Faggots!"

How can they hate on two furs that love each other? How is this right? How is this the law?

Jean thinks to himself as he stops walking and stands still in the middle of the crowd, his paws in fists and his claws poking at his palms as he watches the two guards, David and Ralik walk.

How can this be tolerated?

A growl of anger builds up in his chest as Jean closes his eyes, letting a graceful roar escape from his maw. Reverberating deep in his chest as he bares his fangs and opens his muzzle wide, raising his head to the ceiling. The sound echoes majestically around the backstage, low and in mourning, full of sorrow. The roar grew louder and louder as the cast stop their jeers and comments, terrified by the large male white-lion, standing in the middle of the crowd.

All of the cast stare wide eyed at Jean as the guards stop moving and look at the lion with a bewildered expression. Ralik and David turn and admire the roaring lion over their shoulders, amazed and in awe. Benjamin stares with his muzzle slightly open in shock as Jean's roar slowly dies into a rumble in his chest.

"That's enough! From all of you!" Jean yells, growling as he walks forward and moves in front of Ralik.

"You're my best friend. I will visit you soon. It's wrong what they're doing to you. We will get through this together." Jean whispers as he grips Ralik's shoulder tightly for a second then prowls off to the right quickly, cutting through the crowd of silent and shocked furs, leaving them behind as he closes his eyes.

Susan Rork reaches out to Jean as he stalks past, trying to grab his arm as she looks up into the large lion's face. Freezing with her paw outstretch, the wolf lets it fall to her side as Jean continues past, ignoring her presence. Turning to Charlene, Susan clutches at her chest.

"I love him even more! So emotional!" She whispers to the tigress with wide eyes, full of giddiness. "That roar was beautiful!"

Breathing hard and throwing the twin red-velvet doors from the stage open, and walking into the main high-ceilinged and golden chandelier lit marble lobby, Jean sprints down the white stone stairs from the cast members entrance. Passing more crew members and the golden statues of the opera house goddess, Suadela, the goddess of persuasion and love, he makes his way through the gorgeous room.

"Jean, what happened?"

"What was that noise?"

"Why were the guards called?"

Ignoring the cast member's questions and keeping his eyes as slits, staring at the floor as tears of anger fall, Jean strides quickly to the majestic wooden entrance doors and throws them open with little effort, rage and anger driving him forward.

The tall male runs out from the overhanging white marble stone and gorgeous pillars to stand on the stairs, one foot on an upper ledge and one on a lower as the torrential rain soaks his mane, black and glimmering stage-coat, and glistening white shirt.

Throwing his arms wide and looking up into the grey sky, Jean lets out a cry as he sings the finale of, "True Love", when a crack of lightning flashes across the darkening clouds.

"So why must I be the one to choose,

Is it right to stay normal or true?"
