Chapter 17: Boss Battle, part 1

I was dashing through the long hallways of the giant warehouse, crowded with boxes in high piles around the corners. In the next hall, I saw short gaps from the boxes below, for which I easily hopped across. From there I saw a bright light at the end of the hallway, and ran right to it. Upon arrival I could see the setting that was in front of me. There was flattened cardboard laid in cluttered piles, rails, and half pipes. Hanging from the ceiling were huge prism shaped boxes being held by the corners with silvery metal chains. The setting for it was odd enough, yet it reminded me of an old skateboarding game I used to play on the Nintendo 64. Then, I looked up and a bright light summoned someone, or something, onto the arena and appeared in front of me. This was followed by another person, whom I guess was his accomplice. But I only stood dumbfounded when I saw their faces. One person was an anthropomorphic tabby cat with piercing red eyes and a sinister smile. The other was an anthropomorphic St. Bernard with a build that suggested half-husky and half-muscular; Also, they we're wearing purple body armor with a black dragon and the words 'Postality Knights' embedded in the torso.

"I'm guessing you're the Keyblade master, Eric Lewis." The tabby cat said and he bowed to me, which seemed to be sincere. "Allow us to introduce ourselves. I'm Biggs."

"And I'm Wedge." Said the dog, then Biggs gave a small chuckle.

"Sorry we couldn't get to know each other a little better, but." Biggs said, and he held out his hands and conjured up a weapon. It was a golden martial arts staff with a lion's head on each end. Wedge drew his weapons, which were two small daggers, and held them in a reverse grip. "It's time for you to die." Knowing that they were a threat, I drew out the Keyblade and held my position. We were both at the ready and after a few seconds, they began to charge. Wedge seemed to have vanished, but Biggs stayed and jumped towards me, ready to strike. I jumped to the side to avoid his blow, and rolled out of the way into the top of one of the half pipes adjacent to the wall. I got up and started to match weapons with him, evenly attacking and guarding against each other. He tried to get me on the side, but I made a back flip, barely missing me by inches. In that split second, I called upon my pendant's powers, and changed my class.

'Class Change: Gunner' I finished the flip and grabbed my twin pistols from the sides of my belt, then began shooting. The tabby spun his staff with agile speed to block every bullet on the shot, then Wedge appeared in front of him with a front flip The quick assailant lunged at me with quick swipes and stabs, but I guarded with quick reflexes of my own and was shooting back at him as a counterattack. Upon him backing off and my gaining some distance, I jumped a front flip across from him. Then I quickly looked up and saw the other fighter about to stab me with one of the ends of his staff. My adrenaline continued to rush as I quickly dodged out of the way, off the half pipe, seeing Biggs strike the ground with a powerful thrust; although, it seemed to have power. I landed and quickly tried to conjure a skill.

"Silver Bulle-" I was caught off guard as Wedge struck upwards, knocking my guns out of the way, and he proceeded to grab me by the collar of my shirt. Jumping across me, he dragged me to the ground and tossed me up into the air with a powerful thrust. I was helpless as Biggs leaped to me, and was about to strike me. That was when I heard a loud gun blast, grazing the tabby cat's side; thus, causing him to flinch and me landing safely. I did not know where the blast came from, nor did either of my adversaries, but I could see that Biggs was kneeling down on the ground with his paw covering a short bloodstain on his armor. Someone then jumped and landed behind me; looking back, I could see that Lieutenant Joe Honda had came to my rescue.

"Honda!" I could not believe it, yet I was glad that he made it out of the crowd okay.

"Yo kid." He said. "Couldn't let ya have all the action."

"But what about Bush?" I asked him. "Didn't you take care of him." The man shook his head.

"I'm saving him for later. Now, I had the vision that you were in trouble, and I had to come help you." I just smiled and said.

"Thanks."

"Not a problem." The two of us looked and saw that Wedge tended Bigg's wounds with a healing item and he was back on his feet. We looked and drew our own weapons; Honda drew out a Katana that he was carrying on his back with his other weapons, but I changed my class to a thief and then drew my twin daggers. The two knights too, held their equipment in place. We stood there, intently, not making a move as we studied each other's motives. Then at a quick pace they lunged at us. Honda back flipped to avoid Biggs' attack, and jumped backward, slicing one of the chains off of one of the huge crates.

Meanwhile, I was matching blades with Wedge; defending myself as I was stuck to my right knee. I sensed the crate swinging down to us as I dodge rolled out of the way, but Wedge was caught off guard as it hit him directly and sent him flying. I ducked as the crate came swinging back, while Wedge recovered and was running along the sides, and jumped up to assault Honda. The former lieutenant swung from the chain to his direction, yet was unsuccessful with his comeback as Wedge caught a hold of him with his thighs. With one huge thrust he back flipped as he tossed him hard and fast, and he collided with the crate head first, and spun to the ground. Biggs charged at him and made a quick swing to his head, but Honda moved out of the way in time and tripped the tabby with his free foot. I ran back into the battlefield to join in the brawl, and Wedge soon after to start the free for all. Honda grabbed a rocket launcher that was strapped from his back while I gave Wedge a roundhouse kick to push him back. He prepared a rocket and aimed at a nearby barrel that was near both of them and launched without warning. The rocket hit the barrel and caused it to explode; the two opponents we're caught in the blast and we both kicked them back. They soared to the half pipe near a corner, and they hit the top edge and skidded through the grounding.

We charged at them as I changed class again; 'Class Change: Fighter'. We jumped effortlessly to the top of the half pipe ready to battle, when we suddenly found ourselves dodging something that swooped right at us. It went to a complete stop and we realized that a third opponent, Xanirb, was now facing us; teamed up with the other two. He was a red-scaled dragon, floating in midair with his flapping wings, wearing the same armor as the other two warriors, and he carried a light broadsword. We stood there holding our ground, keeping our eyes peeled on all three of them.

"Remember me?" Xanirb asked me, but I was confused and said nothing. "You kicked me in the balls earlier!" You?! My mind raced, and I made a flip off the pipe to signal the battle continue. I tried to defend myself, but the dragon's aerial maneuvers was taking the advantage, and he knocked me away. Honda had jumped towards my side at that time, and was double teamed by Biggs pole smacks and Wedge's back flip kicks. He went flying through the air; I got back up as a Mage and pushed fireballs right at them. Then I jumped onto Xanirb's chest and sent myself in the air by directly shooting another fire spell right at him. Then I used the opportunity to shoot Wedge down as he jumped towards me to gain more momentum, so then I was able to grab a chain from one of the still hanging crates.

I was able to catch Honda in time and gave him an acrobatic toss to a safe platform above. I went ahead and destroyed the chain that connected to the box and swung myself to the platform, while our adversaries had moved out of the way of the falling crate. We took the short moment of catching our breaths, and then prepared ourselves as Biggs and Wedge caught up to us. We both dodged the next powered blow from Biggs, and Honda charged at him with one of his Katanas. His attempted hits backfired however with an impacted guard from him, and the tabby gave a jump kick to the back of his head, sending him flying towards me. With a heavily impacted blow, he collided with me, and Wedge gave a roundhouse kick towards my face. The force of the kick left me stunned and disoriented, and I was about to fall off the heavy scaffolding. Although, Honda quickly saw that coming and caught me just before I barely fell, and swung me back onto the ring. I changed back to my default class, and casted many fire spells from the Keyblade to hold Wedge back.

Honda sensed something, and hoped back up to the arena in front of me, and pushed me backwards. I shook a little from the sudden impact of a thrown crate to which had taken out the arena, and split it in two. My side was falling downwards, and I feel on my ass as I was sliding towards Biggs, who was waiting for me. I eyed quickly at where the crate was thrown from. It was Xanirb, still standing on the ground level, and flew towards me while drawing his sword. As a gunner again, I drew my pistols and shot to hold him back. Then I quickly made a reverse cartwheel and did a back flip off the railing; hoping to get enough momentum to make it back to the stationary platform. However, my luck ran thin, as I tried shooting everywhere to get a hit, Biggs blocked all of it, and Xanirb swooped around to kick me from behind. Biggs took the opportunity to jump off my back to send me falling towards the ground. I panicked, as I thought it was the end for me. However, Honda saw this as he was fighting Wedge the whole time, and thought quickly to save me. He forcefully knocked back the blow with a guard impact, grabbed him, and threw him towards me. The dog didn't want to go down that easily and prepared a teleportation spell, but by the time he casted it, he bumped right into me, and we were both sent back to the ring. I was thankful and rested, yet I got back up as I went to continue the fight.

Honda made the first move, but the ruthless armored fighters went all out and kicked him to everywhere in the arena. I went into his place went all gun-blazing everywhere, hitting nothing but illusion. That was followed by a swift jump kick to the face by Wedge. Judging from the force of the kick and the nose bleed, I was running on low. Honda went back in to sneak another kick to Wedge's face, and back flipped to dodge Biggs' attacks; although, it proved futile as he was hit by Xanirb's punch. He was knocked into me after I got back up to prepare an Ice bullet, and missed the shot in the end. The dragon made a howling grunt as he punted the ground. The sheer force broke apart a majority of the scaffolding and sent the two of us flying in the air. From the largest force, he held out a fist and charged it.

"This is it!" He shouted. "The end of you! Dragon Punch!!" He punched the debris and sent it flying at extreme speeds. We were directly hit by it and was broke through the windows to the outside. We landed on a platform that was close to the very steep cliff, and I tried to gather my senses again, feeling groggy and even more disoriented. I could feel that it was also possible that my equilibrium was disturbed too, which lead to trouble. Honda though, with his Marine Corp. instincts, got back up and went to fight again. He matched blades with Wedge again, but the damage done left him to be overpowered. Biggs threw his staff straight at me; I quickly saw that and rolled out of the way from sheer adrenaline. However, the weapon had shown an electrical charge, and exploded right in front of me. I found myself flying in the air, screaming in pain. I looked and saw Xanirb looking at me angrily with his fists high in the air ready to strike.

"GO TO HELL!" Then he bluntly hit me in the gut and I hit the ground hard enough to break part of the floor. I was lucky to survive such a force of velocity. Honda had retreated to my side at that time, quickly being pursued by the others. I got back up slowly but surely, but it was difficult with the cheap ambushes. Xanirb had kicked Honda, at the back of his head, toward Biggs, while Wedge did the same to me, and teleported towards me again. Each warrior took a hold of one of our arms and spun us around. They threw us into each other and performed twin butterfly kicks; which was followed by a sword slash by Xanirb as he flew towards us. We both just flipped and hurled into the platform again. This was just it, we couldn't fight anymore; it was over. We tried getting up as we braced ourselves for the trio's final assault. I clenched my eyes with fear and braced for the pain. But no pain had come to me, nor did it come to Honda. For behind us, a huge figure ran towards our enemies and gave one swift roundhouse kick, knocking them back away from us. I took a look and was shocked and happy to find out who saved me; it was him.

"Kimahri!" I shouted happily. The Ronso took a look at me and saw that we we're injured. He knew he had to draw out a rare item he kept with him in the side of his belt. He opened the bottle and threw it in the air, and a warm healing aura had brought me back in fighting shape. Honda found that he too was completely restored. I remembered from back in the games I played, that he used a Megalixir. "I finally found you!" I said to him, and he nodded.

"Is that him?" Honda asked. "Kimahri?"

"Yeah, thats him." I said with an assuring nod. The three of us looked as we saw the three villainous knights get back up and draw their weapons again, ready to fight another battle. We too drew our weapons; me with the Keyblade and holding the stance, Honda grabbing out a Sub-Machine Gun, and Kimahri with his trusty spear. We both stood there silently, the wind only making a sound, waiting for one of them to make the first move.

Phew, on a side note. I'M BACK! And back with a vengeance. This time, I'm going to make sure I'm spot on with my updates, even when I'm in college. Anyway, I'll see you around. I'm going to write the next chapter. Oh, by the way, if anyone guesses the reference from this chapter gets a cookie. ;)
