#3 of Rise of Evil

This is chapter 2 of Rise of Evil. I haven't been making them very long because i've been having trouble with motivation. No one seems to care much for my writing. Oh well, everyone starts somewhere. Either way, enjoy and leave a fav if you did. If you want the story to be longer, and have better progression and seem better then this one, well just say so.

"Sometimes we learn by doing, but what happens when you do by learning? In other words, everyone's experiences are different." ~ Elder Armotores

The Elder wolf contemplates over what he had just gotten himself into, agreeing to teach that young pup magic. It could be disastrous, but he hoped it would only be so in grave circumstances. Upon these thoughts, he was awoken to breaking of a glass of some sort. "Shadow?!" Yells the Elder, the name foreign to him, having just learned it. He hears footsteps charging down the hallway followed by a sudden crash of more glass. The door flinging open to reveal a small pup, Shadow.

Shadow whimpers out "I didn't know reading could be that bad..." He trails off at the end jumping into the room with a pure silver glowing monster behind him. The monstrosity goes to break through the door, but the Elder wolf stands holding out a hand (Paw?) and speaks clearly.

"You can not harm the building that we stand upon for it is sacred. Beast, your death is here."

His hands suddenly burst into flames as the rooms walls glow, shadows being cast all over the room. Suddenly, the flames all combine together until they erupt forward causing a cone of pure heated energy to burn down the monstrosity on the other side of the doorway. The monster backs up, but once hit by the heat begins to fall apart as if a metal construction. Shadow whimpers watching, being too young to have resistance to all the elements.

The Elder wolf rubs his hands together extinguishing the flames. Shadow whimpers out "W-Who are you sir?". The Elder wolf turns and sits down. He closes his eyes and sigh, his breath coming out as steam. He looks at Shadow with a serious look, and holds out his hands palms up. He slowly creates a cast of light, showing that his form has changed, but he is still an Elder wolf.

"Shadow, my name is Armotores. I was an arch-mage from long ago. My name is enough to get someone killed if they actually knew it were me." Says Armotores with a deeper voice then before, but he still has the calmness from before. Shadow sits too and stays focused on Armotores. They both stay focused on each other with a calm look. Armotores yawns and lowers his head.

"I'm a little old to be using magic anymore. It's so easy to go overboard and then completely lose all your life energy. Life energy is what keeps you living, and it regenerates with time. It will also regenerate with food, and will grow in amount the more you have physical and mental training." Says Armotores, his ears staying against his hear. Shadow nods, noting it all in his mind. Shadow trying to copy him, rubbing his hands together and create flames. However when nothing happens, he just sighs.

"Will I ever be able to do magic like you do? Or will I only learn the cast magic you seem to dislike so much?." Asks Shadow with a sigh. Armortores laughs a bit, handing Shadow a book about magic studies that he made. The book title suggesting that it is to explain the basics. He flicks through it quickly, and looks up quickly.

"It speaks of how you can only use two types of magic. Item magic and one other. The item magics don't take your energy, but rather has a limited number based upon its origin." Says Shadow with a glow arising behind him showing the room better. Unrealizing of it, Shadow was creating it. Armotores looking as he can see a gold, black, and purple color mix of energy from Shadow to the light. Thinking to himself Armotores begins to realize how much energy Shadow has without him realizing it.

Armotores stands and starts going through the house, fixing it all with a channeled magic that has near to no Life Energy drain. Shadow following and watching him, trying to copy his movements with the same stance. The air starts to vibrate and glow around him as he unwillingly turns back time for a full foot of space, the entirity of it going back to be damaged. Whimpering Shadow stops lowering his ears. Armotores looks at it and begins to fix it again saying "Careful Shadow, you don't know how to control it yet, you better train with me first before you try anything else." He finishes it off and sighs finishing the cleaning, the day coming to an end with them in their own bedrooms.
