Chapter XV: Three Months
#15 of Rise of the First Front
One last poem to get you excited, and while peace might remain in Carson City, albeit uncomfortably, the Kagens have other worlds to take care of and here is one to show off a bit more of my literary prowess, and if you like it please help me get popular and spread out my stories with a favorite and a vote, it may not mean a lot to you but it does to me.
I'll tell you a story I know
But it does start off very slow
I learned as much from all my experience
That in all most it is of the up most serious
The lesson to be learnt from all of this
Is to learn some of bliss
And what I have sworn
Is that those walls are meant to be torn
Once in a land much different from our own
Two tribes had been waring because a stone had been thrown
War broke out between the masses
And both sides fought valiantly with brasses
An Earth different from the one that you know
And peace from above interrupted the status quo
And while all had been thought lost
They above all else disagreed with the cost
In fact they said they are an interested third party
As they landed on the ground the three had all started off hearty
This group was the same except one
And the person named Benji thought it would be fun
Looking back on the plain, he was glad the warp didn't go awry
He'd seen it before, temporal spuds exploding and they might all go sky high
The leader said they would go on horse
And with a quip Benji let him know he was coarse
On that bit awkward note the three were departed
And one knew this was not a trip for the fainthearted
For the mortal affairs
Mortals would give them what is theirs
Of course Benji was different from his peers
They tended to be ones to grind gears
While he was with them, both immortals
And they could generate portals
And Kagens are what they called their name
And to all but one, they would call Benji a bane
This made for annoyance
When the leader acted like he had clairvoyance
And on the primitive world within the group traveled
Then identities quickly unraveled
First off was the one I was familiar with the most
And in their adventures I could boast
And of course this Kagen was known as Bright
Once I feared him but now he knew him as a knight
As their horses trotted along, in the golden sun
The two knew that soon after they would both be back on the run
Still hoping from place to place, along the void
Well Benji thought of it nice, especially when they destroyed the android
Bright fought for good and with a smile he beamed
I knew in my heart that after all Benji's work he had been redeemed
The world that they were in was primitive
Trees loitering in the land filled with medieval like citizens
And as our horses trotted along, Benji looked to his side
And sitting there was the man who once controlled the tide
Twilight was his name
And in the previous universe he might have gained some acclaim
And they knew that when we arrived, he surely was now a bit mean
But that didn't matter because they arrived at the scene
Two groups had arrived at the clearing
And it was obvious that the conflict between both was nearing
They dismounted our horses
And he knew this fight wouldn't be fought with armed forces
Unlike the world of his own where war was fought with guns
Benji knew this wouldn't be fun
Yet for the future civilization here might know
With this worldly forest, a different Earth with a war fought with arrows and bow
And as the Kagens approached them, their leader looked to be stand over them
If all went right then after the end they would be under his thumb
Benji glared to his side, "This idiot is going in with too much aplomb"
"And why am I rhyming without qualm?"
The Kagen sighed, "It's a filter placed on this dimension"
"Just leave it alone and don't give it much attention."
"Whoo boy this is going to kill me."
The leader, Twilight acting as much as a marquis
Stood above the settlers looking with false care
Alas they knew he was filled with hot air
"Sir." A settler spoke
"What will you do to end this war in one stroke?"
"We will build a wall straight uppity!"
Twilight said with not much subtlety
"Has the fool not learned not to attain peace?"
I said looking at the Kagen filled with caprice
"But why must we be separated can our races not live together?"
"Trust me this will send this place into the nether."
I stood up and decided that it would be me who spoke
"I disagree, you Kagen bloke."
"Ah and look at that the Earth one talks."
"Who gives you the right here in the boondocks?"
"I think you're in the wrong."
"And I think I have the right, I am just as strong."
"Twilight!" Bright yelled
And the Kagen's head unswelled
"Ah and see the dragon emperor speak."
Twilight spoke, trying to make his brother meek
"Brother I don't have to play that game."
"Why do I have to take all the blame?"
"Either way this wall needs to be built."
Twilight said trying to make the other two wilt
"No it doesn't peace can be attained."
Benji said becoming quite strained.
Twilight turned and frowned, "And you think I should care?"
"I have a far more than a million words in my share."
"To spend the time helping each and everyone"
"You should do it then!" Benji said with the force of a metric ton
"Twilight, you know he is right, one Kagen cannot handle it all."
Bright spoke, "We need to give all the attention to these meatballs."
"Fine then, go to the next adventure that you need."
"And on this world on one will bleed."
Twilight took some humbleness and looked at the two
"The people here will be glued."
"Together one in the same."
"Truly this has been an interesting day."
"No really don't screw this up, use the most subtle touch."
Benji spoke, "I think this world has had too much."
One of the leaders approached, "Well maybe this will be peace in our time."
Benji glared at Twilight, "Careful, that last time that was said it was a war crime."
"Do not underestimate our world, we will find a deal that is fair."
"I will help you most honestly, I do swear."
Twilight spoke and tried to look like an open book
"Well Twilight, don't tell me you're not a crook."
Benji spoke, "Well as long as you're not a used car salesmen."
"Either way Twilight, we'll be off, help this world find Zen."
"Don't disappoint me for Dawn's sake."
"Well we have a lot at stake."
"Good luck brother."
"Don't smother."
And like that we on horses were off
And between us not a cough
Until at the landing we arrived
Benji sighed, somehow we survived
"He's becoming more erratic." he pointed out
Bright spoke, "I won't give it a doubt."
"This rhyming is killing me, let's get off this planet."
And Twilight getting off the horse, put his hand up, "Okay, Janet."
"See what I mean."
"Don't worry my queen."
And with a bow of loyalty
In a portal we took off like royalty
To each and every world that came next
To explore the universe, so complex
And really the lesson learned that day is that sometimes people
Lean too much on their own steeple
And forget their own ideals
And end up falling on deals
Of course most of all, don't build a wall
Because either way, one day it will fall
