Description: A revered creature learns that the priests who worship him are not the only living beings in the world. When his peaceful village is invaded by space pirates, the native finds himself wrapped in the clutches of one such individual, whose goals might not be entirely benevolent.

A Dance with Space Pirates

An ancient tale spoke of a lone priest who retreated into the heart of the wildlands in search of absolute enlightenment. Long years passed with barely any mention of his name. It was as if nature swallowed him whole. As if even his kin forgot his memory...

Until there came a day when the priest returned to his village. He crawled on all four limbs like an animal. Time left him frail, and the trials he endured sapped the little strength he had left. The rest of the temple's priests flocked at his side, taking their elder kin towards the ceremonial altar for one last rite before the last breath left his aged throat. They cleansed him with water. Adorned him with robes stained with the ashes of his forefathers. One by one, the priests gave him one last bite of bread before placing the divine metals in his hands. A chunk from the earth, and one from the sky.

Yet the priest refused to take the two orbs. With a weakened arm, he gathered the entire temple around him, and with a crooked, shaking finger, he pointed towards the sky above.

"There. There," the priest mumbled between his lengthy breaths. Many tried to reason with the old priest. Many asked him questions, prodded his side, begged him to speak a few more words. Help them understand!

But age had finally caught up with the hermit. In the bosom of his own people, the elder priest gave his last breath, leaving behind cloud of confusion that spanned through decades. Some said he was searching for the sky god's messengers. Others argued that the light of the sun was more important after a life spent in the shadow of the forest.

A few went even farther than that. They interpreted the priest's last words as a warning, a threat that came not from the vast depths of the uncharted oceans, but from the darkened cloak of the endless skies.

If only their warnings had come sooner...

In a small village, a group ran for their lives. They took towards the swamps, hoping the dense vegetation would shield them from their enemies.

"Protect the offering!" the high priest shouted frantically. Though they had no weapons but their bodies, the rest of his group flocked around the precious creature. This offering, as the high priest called him, had been the fascination of the village for a while, yet the living wall of flailing arms and thumping feet that made him feel more scared than secure. What could prayers do against this terrible invasion? How could a priest's words pierce through the crackling whistles summoned from the great metal beasts that cut through the skies?

Nobody wanted to know. That's why they ran as fast as their legs took them. The priests' only hope lay in the vast western swamps, where the grasses grew tall and the water tricked the foot of those unaccustomed to the wetlands.

"Water!" The creature blurted out as he stumbled upon a stream. "Through water! Quick!"

He didn't loiter more than necessary. The words had been spoken, an arm had been swung. Now his feet had to do the rest. The creature leaped and dived him into one of the many canals webbing around the mire. His powerful tail was no longer an inconvenience here. Along with his webbed limbs, each swerve pushed the creature forth through the murky water faster than he ever ran. He was the lord of this realm now...at least until his lungs demanded air.

He leaped on the bank. A lone splash, followed only by the song of the insects.

"Mrrhm?" the creature scanned his surroundings. Water trailed along his fine hide, a nuance darker than the sky. The creature's eyes, two sapphire gemstones, frantically searched for the rest of the group while his fingers clenched nervously. "Where are you? Did I...did I go to fast?"

The creature's frills drooped with dampening dread. There was nothing here. Just grasses, water, mud...and the squelching sound of too many legs.

Those were not his priests.

With a quick breath, the creature lifted his heavy tail and ran with all the strength he could muster. It wasn't long before breath stuck to his throat. The wind stung his hide. His throat was even worse, all cut by the absence of moisture.

If he stopped, he died.

Painful shivers rushed through the rest of his muscles. No matter how hard he pushed himself, the chasers still remained fast on his tail. The grasses did nothing to block their eyes, and the thick mud seemed equally ineffective at slowing them down.

Worse than that. Pale flickers of light made the creature's pupils narrow against the only source of light in the night. The moon, the stars, the sky...it was too early to see them!

The creature realized his mistake when the verdant maze spat him out. Land stretched ahead of him. Bare land, with no trees to shadow him nor grasses tall enough to obscure his steps. Earthbinder's forest loomed in the distance, taunting him with the prospect of safety. A single wrong turn probably cost him his life. This is not where he wanted to go. Not with such a significant distance separating him from the cover of trees. Perhaps the mire was not the best choice after all...

He took a deep breath, then ran again, his finned tail tip heavy with mud. A step. Just one more step. If he stopped, he died.

The creature became so focused on his mantra, he missed the lone figure standing between him and the forest. Was it a priest? A warrior sent from the skies to aid him? For a moment, hope blazed within the creature's frightened heart. Then the shadow adopted an unfamiliar stance, hands clutched around something too compact to be a staff.

An offworlder.

The creature's feet skidded between the blades of grass. Panic took hold of his senses. This was how he was going to dive into the eternal realm, face first into the grass, with a mouthful of dirt unable to even scream. The shadow raised his weapon, then fired it.

A crackling sounds burst along with a blazing flicker of light. Whooshing projectiles ran past the creature's limp form. He couldn't move. Couldn't even scream. All he could do was to watch the shadow's metal spewer, which unloaded its contents furiously towards the mire.

Someone screamed from behind. The creature perked behind just in time to see the mire grow ablaze with the molten exchange of blazing projectiles. The shadow dropped onto the ground, making itself smaller, harder to hit. The creature too crawled along the grass, tiny motes whistling past his ears faster than he could even blink. There was obvious enmity between the two sides. The lone shadow shot at the mire, and the mire replied back with more vengeance than any lone warrior could ever dispense.

And it was growing closer. Even someone eons behind the offworlders' fire spewing technology figured how stacked the odds were against them. Two against a dozen. Or rather, one. There wasn't much the creature could do aside from watching, hoping, and praying to all the gods for a way out of this entanglement.

The shadow reached behind his back. Another weapon? No one could say. The creature thought he even saw a tail come into view for just a moment before the shadow threw its arm back. Something flew his grasp. The creature couldn't see what it was. He only heard the roar that came a moment after. When he glanced back, his broad pupils narrowed towards the fiery wedge carving its way through the mire like a spear plunged into a beast's gut. A few screams lit the night apart, and for a moment, the creature's heart was weighted by the death of his enemies. Nobody deserved such a painful end.

But the shadow was not done yet. It leaned its weight on one knee, then worked his hands against his weapon, for the stone-spewer started changing before the creature's very eyes, becoming bigger and longer. The shadow pressed his face against a luminous visor, steadied the weapon, then pressed his finger down with a hard click.

A cobalt boulder shot from the spewer's blazing muzzle, the light even brighter than the moon's glow. The creature's snout followed the ball of light all the way to the mire's burning edge, where expanded into a sphere of blinding radiance. The earth trembled. Even the air became warmer for a moment.

The creature's maw parted with fright and awe. The ball of light incinerated everything around it. Grasses were reduced to cinders. Water instantly dried in the puckers left behind by the streams. There was nothing left, apart from the face of his chasers, a squad of offworlders that hid behind barriers of shimmering light. The lone shadow unleashed his fury against them, the heated projectiles bouncing off like arrows slamming against stone. He cut the stream to launch another blazing sphere, yet the molten light flowed around the barrier rather than eating through it.

"FIRE!" a voice came from behind, and a storm of flying fire shortly followed.

The creature crawled towards the forest. With the corner of his eye, he noticed the shadow pulled something from his weapon. When slammed against the ground, it formed a dome around them, offering the shadow enough time to grab onto the creature, pull him close towards his chest, then push them both up like a bird flapping its wings.

Only that the shadow had no wings. Just arms, and legs, and a contraption that made the most irritating sound strapped upon its back. The creature slammed his eyes shut. He couldn't bear the sight of the rolling ground for more than a few heartbeats without spilling the contents of his belly. He imagined flying more like the waves of the sea, calm, collected. Not the wobbling dance performed by his captor's contraption. He spoke as hard as he squeezed, but the creature could say or do nothing for the duration of that terrifying flight.

When the clutch receded, the creature fell back on the ground, harder than he needed to. He could hear his captor's steps shifting through the grass. Oh, he was angry. Though the spoken words sailed by the creature's frilled ears like the wind around mountains, emotions were a lot blunter. His captor was mightily displeased, and the reason wasn't particularly hard to pinpoint.

A cold foot slithered underneath the creature's belly, pushing him onto his back, exposing him to the face of his captor. He was a fox. An angry, fluffy fox whose verdant eyes and white painted muzzle were darkened by the scowl of his eyebrows.

He pointed, growled, snarled and spat. A particularly harsh string of words left his maw. When he got only a blank stare in return, the fox dug into one of the several pockets of his tattered vest. He pulled a rock-like thing, which found its way onto the creature's bare belly. What was he supposed to do with that? Eat it?

The fox crossed his arms. He waited for something.

Grabbing the unusually smooth object, the creature sniffed it briefly before he proceeded to inspect it from all angles. There was something inside. Warm light. The same kind that-

"Ow!" he recoiled as the fox's hardened foot slammed against his side.

The object repeated the frightened yelp with an eerily static voice.

"What is this. How-" the creature's eyes widened as the sphere he clutched came to life, repeating his words into the fox's guttural tongue.

"This is an universal speaker," the offworlder rotated a similar ball between his fingers. His ball did the same job, only it repeated the words in the creature's tongue. "You figured out what it does, yes?"

"I...I think so," the creature nodded a few times before settling back on the strange device. He still had a hard time grasping how a ball with a bit of light inside could speak like a living creature.

"Good. Time to go then," the fox offered a hand.

His friendship? No. He just wanted his prey up on his feet, as if his request wasn't ridiculous enough.

"You want me to do what?" the creature said as he wrapped his tail around his body, as if that could protect him from the fox's weapon.

"Find the pirates. The ones who shot at you, and me. The same people that tried to kill us!"

"But...they're gone," the creature gazed towards the burning mire. "How do you expect me to-"

"I don't expect. I command." The sphere's voice darkened to match the fox's anger. "I saved your life. The least you can do is help me in return."

The creature remained silent. He knew there was nothing he could say to sway the fox's thoughts. Those piercing green eyes, his snarly muzzle...he just wanted something to spill his hatred on, just like his offworlder companions.

"Talk," the fox scratched his back. "I didn't save your life to stare at your fine features. What are you, a walking fish? I'm amazed you lived that long. You're probably not even trained to-"

"What do you want me to say?" the creature spoke over the fox's rant.

"Anything. I want to know what you heard when they came here. I want to know what you saw, what you know about the people who tried to kill you."

"Us," the creature perked his head to match his captor's gaze. "They wanted you too. Why?"

"Braska's talons. You really are a stupid one," the fox paced around, the metal encasing his shins clicking ever so slightly. He wore a tattered outfit, caked with dirt and ruptured by age. "You know...there is this tale I remember. One that my mother used to tell before tucking me in for the night. It was about a sea monster. He was bigger and stronger than anything else in the world, but he was also dumb. If I remember correctly, he was kinda similar to you..."

"Me? A monster?" the creature tilted his head, blinking curiously. "I can't be a monster!"

"Why not?" The fox crouched. "You certainly match the looks. Green frills? Bright eyes? Claws?" the fox chuckled as his metal covered hand brushed against the creature's bare claws. "No, no. I won't call you that. You're not a savage. Kthulhu!" he blurted out much to the creature's own amazement.

"Kh...kath...kuhutu..."

"Kthulhu!" the fox laid a heavy hand on the creature's shoulder. "That's a name fit for a warrior like you. Now that we are properly acquainted, what do you say we do a bit of hunting? You use that fine nose, keen eyes, or whatever ways you can to find those filthy deserters, and I'll make them leave your home. How does that sound, Kthulhu?"

"Kthu..." the creature's tongue twisted every time it tried to utter that stupid name. "Don't like kuhutu. Call me by my real name. I'm-"

"Wasting precious time on frivolities. Can you even help me? Did I do the right thing by saving your life?"

The creature dipped his head in shame. That last remark hurt more than the fall he took ever since he was separated from his priests. If there was anything he hated, it was being a burden to somebody.

"I can help. I think..."

"Good," the fox grabbed onto his weapon. "I want to know where they went. They must have landed their ship somewhere close and you know this world better than I do. Tell me where they are. Come on, get up. Lead!"

"I can try..." Kthulhu said.

"No," the fox snarled. "You'll succeed."

They headed back towards the swamplands in search of the other offworlders. Kthulhu -as he started to call himself in the fox's presence to annoy him- knew how futile this endeavor was. Fox said it himself. The metal bird needed stable ground under its feet, not water soaked dirt. It was somewhat amusing to see the fox contort his muzzle every time one of his feet slipped into a puddle. Could water be the way to repel these invaders? Kthulhu pondered on that as they worked their way along the mire's branches. When his feet started aching, he knew they spent a significant amount of time following a trail that had gone colder than a corpse.

"Grrr...we're getting nowhere. I'm starting to question your tracking abilities."

Kthulhu pressed his rebellious lips shut. He didn't want to be seen smiling. Not when Fox almost went knee deep into the water. The offworlder used his hands to brush it off. His hands, among all those strange contraptions he had!

"Use flames."

"What?"

"Fire," Kthulhu poked at the talking sphere. "Is fire inside this, yes?"

"I won't explain what technology is to someone who can't even follow a trail. Are you sure we're on the right path?"

"I'm sure you're wet," Kthulhu swished his tail playfully, much to the fox's snarling disappointment.

"The fire I use will turn us to ash before you scream the word stupid. There's a perfect drier back on my ship. That's what I'm going to use."

"Ship? You a sailor?"

"A sky sailor," Fox straightened his back in a rather majestic pose. "Mr Fox, ready to serve at your command, your sliminess," the offworlder bowed so convincingly, Kthulthu almost bought his lie. "I will escort you anywhere you want. Entertain you with tales. Clean your claws, kiss your bare feet, do whatever it takes to please your royal blueness."

"You're not serious," the creature chuckled.

"Oh, now you realize?" Mr Fox said. "Took you what, ten seconds before you processed my real intention? I want to find the ones that came here before me, who are, by the way, the same people that attacked your village."

"Attacked?" Kthulhu's tail straightened behind his back. A shiver went along his spine. Cold, nasty dread. "You saw them...kill people?"

"No. I was too busy trying to find their damned ship," Fox grew more serious as he stared towards the sky. "A space ship, my stupid blue friend. That's their only way off this rock. Doesn't make sense to chase them. I'm one. They're many. Dying is one thing, but dying tired...now that's not how I want to go."

"Go where?"

Fox's sharp canines almost revealed their full length when his lips contorted into another snarl. "It's an expression. I think I expected too much from you. Just lead me out of this damned swamp already. Find us solid ground. A meadow, plains, anything wide enough to support a ship."

"I'll find it, but..."

"What? What else concocts inside that fish head of yours?"

"They didn't kill anyone, did they?"

"I wasn't there to see! Stars, you really know how to ask the good questions. If you're so interested in their whereabouts, you should go ahead and ask them. Lead me right to their little camp."

Kthulhu's legs settled into motion again. He led the fox out of the swamp, as requested, though he found no flying ship around the forest's edge.

"Are there fields around your village? Big, open fields?"

"Yes, but-"

"Lead me there."

He said that, yet his reaction proved otherwise. With his weapon clutched towards his chest, Mr Fox took the first person he saw within his sight.

"He's just a farmer!" Kthulhu wrapped his tail around him.

"Get off me."

"Don't kill him. Please."

"I said...get off me!"

Kthulhu pulled back. He was somewhat pleased to see that his village remained mostly intact.

"They're here somewhere...just have to get a good shot..."

"My people are not going to harm you. We're not like your friends."

"Not worried about them, fish head. It's my friends I'm worried about. They are going to do horrible things to your village if they know I'm here, so better keep your mouth shut."

"But...doesn't look so bad," Kthulhu said. The fields looked as good as ever, the huts haven't vanished, even the villagers kept to their usual routines. Most of them were out on the fields with their red gas lanterns, plucking moon's grasp, a weed that only grew during a full moon.

"Aye. It isn't. Because they want you working. I know the way their work better than you do, sea monster," Kthulhu followed Fox's finger as it went towards the temple. "That the chieftain's hut?"

"No, just the temple."

"A stack of stones, more like. They got a watcher inside that one. And in one of those little huts is a collector. Jolly fellow. Goes from home to home filling his pack. Do you have gems? Metals? Anything worth taking?"

Kthulhu's heart skipped a beat. The temple. The metals. Oh no...

"Yeah," Fox licked his fangs. "Seen that look before. That's why they turned to plundering. My friends are a special breed of bastards. Feed on the helplessness of others. Like to make them beg and cry while they pluck everything they want. Sometimes it's metals...but I heard of a few cases when females boarded their ship."

"No..."

"Go on," Fox insisted. "Go there. Tell them what vile kind of inbreds they are. Make them leave. I'll give you my gun and my ship to see that happen."

"They'll kill me, won't they?"

"No. That's not their style," Fox slowly crawled back, an eerie smile draped along his muzzle. "They'll just do things to you. The kind of things that haunt your dreams. Things not even monsters like you can fight against."

"Stop calling me that!"

Ktulhu moaned shortly after. With a firm clutch around his snout, Fox pulled him back, forcing him to crawl like a beast.

"Unreliable. Volatile. Weak," Fox mumbled. "Two of your farmers headed back to the temple. My friends know I'm on their tail. Question is...do you know what their next move will be?"

Kthulhu whimpered. He wanted to growl. To hiss. To snap!

Then the fox let him go.

"Wasting time. That's what I've done by taking you with me. I'll leave back to my ship. See if I can find these bastards on my own."

"I'm sorry! I just wanted to-"

A quick hand wrapped around the creature's hand. "Enough of this mewling crap already. Get up. We're leaving."

For as calculated as he usually sounded, Fox landed his ship quite a distance away. He kept a tight hold on Kthulhu's arm, as if the creature could just shake that grip off and flee in the wilderness. In this offworlder's company, he felt more a prisoner than a friend. Fox even lacked basic manners. It was weird, how an offworlder with so many advanced contraptions could be so...cold.

Kthulhu's ire collapsed into sheer amazement once they reached the ship though. Nestled in a meadow just on the fringe of the Earthbearer's forest was the most impressive metal beast he ever laid eyes upon. It sat on four legs, the circular discs flattening the earth around them. Its sharp snout gave the impression of a spear's head, and its belly even had the color of the red metal common to the region.

"This is one big beast... How do you sail it?"

"By entering its guts of course," Fox pressed something inside his vest, and the beast came to life.

Kthulhu instinctively drew back. He was naturally startled by the hisses and the lights flaring around the ship's metal hide, but Fox had none of that, dragging the poor creature all the way towards the ramp that led inside the great beast's belly.

The smells might have been odd around the outside, but here it literally reeked. Many sharp scents fought hard to wrinkle Kthulhu's sensitive nose. The tubes running along the side of the tunnel smelled of wet anvil, while the vapor they belched was a slightly more pleasing combination between the swamp's smells and freshly washed cloth.

"Is that blood coming out of it?"

"Steam," Fox rolled his eyes. "How far behind are you?"

"And these long metal shafts...do they have a pointy edge at the tip?"

"Never saw a pointy pipe before."

Kthulhu reached out towards a white puffy cloud. Fox caught him right before he delved a finger into that steam thing.

"Stop touching!"

"I didn't!"

"You wanted to!" Fox said sternly. "This ship is mine, understand? My property. My territory. If you touch it, I'll get angry, and when I get angry..."

Kthulhu's eyes shined. He couldn't take the fox seriously. Not when the steam soaked into the fluff of his tail.

"What...happens if you get angry?"

"I...do things...things you aren't going to like..." he scrunched his muzzle, then grabbed his tail. "Perfect. Just perfect."

"Your territory, is it?" the creature quipped.

"Shut up. Mind your hands. Actually, why do I even bother? Burn yourself. Freeze. Touch everything you want until you decompose bit by bit. I'll be in the commander's quarters."

Kthulhu played his fingers between the warm steam clouds coming from the piles. He quite liked how warm it felt...but seeing the fox leave with his wet tail drooping towards the ground was too amusing to pass up. He joined at his side, enjoying the strange vibrations coursing beneath his legs. This ship felt more interesting with every passing moment.

At the end of the corridor was a single spacious room. A table was set in the middle, grey, just like the walls. Farther ahead, three more corridors pointed in different directions. Kthulhu wondered where they led before his eyes settled back on Mr Fox, who dropped into a chair with a pleased rumble.

"Home sweet home."

Kthulhu crouched besides an empty chair. It looked strange, and at the same time, very comfortable. He pushed into the cushion with a finger, his claw sinking quite a bit inside.

"No. Don't. You'll ruin the padding."

"Sorry," the creature pulled back. "We don't have puffy leather in the village."

"Let's not talk about that, shall we?" Mr Fox leaned over the table. "Grysha, you awake?"

Motes of light appeared on the table's surface, arranging themselves into a floating wolf head. "Awaiting your orders, commander."

"Give me a map of the surrounding area. And switch to whatever language this creature speaks. That robot voice is getting on my nerves."

With that said, Fox leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and left Kthulhu alone with the luminous head.

"How is this working?" he ran his hands along the perfectly smooth table.

"I am the ship's A.I. assigned by Mr Fox to assist you," the ship spoke with perfect clarity.

"How weird..." the creature grabbed his tail, stroking along its length to keep himself from feeling to odd. He was talking to a floating wolf head made from blue light, after all.

"Do you wish me to change? Become a creature you are familiar with?"

"Rrrh...me?"

The light reformed. The snout shortened slightly, becoming rounder. The ears extended into frills, and the eyes became slightly bigger to match the head's shape. Within a few heartbeats, Kthulhu stared at his own image, grabbing his tail so hard it hurt.

"Are you pleased with your likeness?"

"Y-yes. Very...pleased. Never realized I look so...good," Kthulhu grinned from one end of the mouth to the other. "Can you get my voice?"

"I can," the ship repeated.

"What about becoming...more? You know, have a whole body instead of a head."

"Such request is possible. Mr Fox however does not care for such frivolities. May I remind you that we have both been tasked to find the space pirates?"

"Yes, yes," Kthulhu leaned over the luminous map. He had a bit of trouble reading it, but the ship was more than helpful in that regard. It was almost like playing a game. He had three chasers -or drones, as the ship named them- at his disposal, and he had to send them scouting for treasure -or in this case pirates.

Kthulhu sent one in each of the world's corners, then waited, and waited, until the results came back.

"Negative."

Kthulhu rolled his eyes. "Are you sure? There has to be something. A sign or..."

"Absolutely," the ship said.

"What about the village? If we send one of these drones there-"

"Negative. Giving away our position contradicts Mr Fox's orders."

"He's not here now," Kthulhu whispered between his teeth, then shuddered when a furred auburn hand slammed into the table.

"He is very much alive, fishy. Grysha. Progress report."

The map floated towards Mr Fox, turning along as the ship pointed out all the points of interest. The news weren't pleasing, to say the least.

"So we've got nothing."

Those verdant eyes unnerved Kthulhu as they fixed upon him. "I tried."

"Try, fail, try again. You're old enough to know how this game works, beastie."

"I don't know where they went!"

"Don't know, or can't put that fish head of yours to use?" The fox leaned closer towards Kthulhu. "They invaded your home. Stole from your village. Are you going to let them have their way with you? Take you like a female?"

"Don't know, don't know," Kthulhu shook his head. "I told you everything I could. Why can't you believe me?"

"I had my fill with words. Results. That's what I want. Grysha, take the helm. I'll show our friend to his quarters."

The ship started trembling. Kthulhu had no idea what was going on. He just followed Fox frantically along a corridor until he found himself standing before an empty chamber.

"Get in."

"But-"

"In," Fox pushed him forward. "Not going to say that twice."

Kthulhu knew he had no choice. He went inside the chamber to be separated by a wall of light similar to the dome he saw back at the mire when Mr Fox failed to kill the space pirates.

"Bastards," the creature placed his bottom on the cold ground, legs crossed, hands on his knees. "Wish they never came here. I wish none of them did..."

And with that he closed his eyes, distracting himself from the vibrations playing around the edges of his slit. Those soft tremors felt very...distracting. They made Kthulhu's inner flesh tighten on and on until thick squelching sound loosened along with his fluids.

"Awwrr..." he growled silently. His crevice required tending. Normally, this task was meant for the priests, but right now Kthulhu was inside a metal beast's belly. He had no water to cleanse himself with. No fabric to soak. Only his two, bare hands.

So he got up on his feet and paced around the enclosure he had been gifted with. Splotches of slime appeared on the green tinted color of his inner flanks. He couldn't keep walking around like this. It was better to let his gender breathe.

So Kthulhu laid on his back, spreading his legs with a soft squelching sound. His lubrication wasn't exactly eager to be parted from the surface of his lips. Bridges formed between the dark blue edges and the insides of his fleshy shelter, becoming bigger and wetter the more Kthulhu spread his legs apart.

The tendrils snapped. Kthulhu breathed a sigh of relief. The hardest part was done. He survived this simple procedure without touching himself down there. Now he had to endure the rest.

The creature flexed his toes. A sweet smell filled the room. Normally the priests would be all over his special place, collecting his nectar or praying to the gods of fertility. Kthulhu never appreciated them. More often than not, the priests were loud, too intrusive.

But now he missed them. In a room filled with nothing but his scent, Kthulhu found his thoughts wander into a forbidden territory. What if he...touched himself down there? It wasn't a sin if he just poked his flesh a few times.

Or maybe it was. The priests were particularly vague on that topic. Who else but the Gods knew of their plans?

Kthulhu closed his eyes. He wanted to relax, but his deep breath did more harm than good. A hefty amount of scent rushed deep into his nostrils. The creature's cerulean eyes trembled from how potent his own scent felt like. Oh, how tempted he was to dive a single finger in there and taste his own juices. A heartbeat passed. Then another. His blood heated with each passing moment.

Then Kthulhu remembered he was in Mr Fox's ship. Or rather, trapped inside with no hope to escape. Did he lose his mind, to spill in such a place?

The creature carefully rolled onto his side.

"Nrrrrhh..." he growled as his lips involuntarily pressed together, the warm, clammy feeling making his gender tremble with luscious squelches. He had to live with this for Gods knew how long. How could he endure this torture? Other villagers took mates to sate their desires. Some even bred with beasts.

Kthulhu was always alone. Even here, on the ship, he was bound tighter than he'd ever been. Mr Fox never really cared about his well being. He just wanted to find his pirates, wherever they were.

The vibrations became more and more bothersome. The ship was moving. Sailing towards the clouds, no doubt. With his eyes firmly shut, Kthulhu focused on his home. He was a creature of the sea, not made to be carried into the skies by anything or anyone. Even thinking about that short flight he experienced at the mire was enough to knot his stomach in three different places.

Time became an annoying nuisance. His arm tingled, trapped under the rest of his body, while his tail was stuck between his legs as an extra layer of protection. He felt mightily uncomfortable after a while of sitting on his side, but even with Mr Fox away, Kthulhu didn't dare to move. He wanted to fall asleep in this place. Willed it with all the acumen he could muster until his mind grew weak and his body tired.

Kthulhu had the strangest dreams. Flashbacks that took him to a very particular moment in time. Desires that made his nether lips tighten with blissful spasms.

He awoke with a gasp, with his heart beating frantically inside his chest. It wasn't because of panic. The urge came back, and it was stronger than ever.

Kthulhu carefully pushed his tail away to peek between his legs. In the darkness of the room he couldn't see much at all. The only source of light came from the corridor, weak and frail. He had no choice but to bend his spine and draw closer, yet as he did so, a strong wave of scents rolled straight through his widening nostrils.

The first was sweet, filled with the pleasant tinge of familiarity. He knew it well.

But the second was not quite so tame. It had a fire within it that tickled his flesh in ways he barely understood.

Kthulhu pulled his knees up. He felt awfully wet down there. Trails of gooey moisture already overflowed from his soaked flesh, making his groin warm and sticky. With a tentative finger, he reached down to his drenched lips. It took a bit of strength to push the pad of his finger against the edge of his vagina, and when that happened, the young creature gritted his teeth with strain. That simple contact felt unbearably intense on his bare, aroused pussy. He was puffier than he'd ever been. Sure, he had nights when heat leaked out of him, but he was rarely conscious when it happened. Right now, every breath he took threatened to unleash the overwhelm upon his sensitive place.

Kthulhu's lips tightened with a soft squelch, sending a shiver through his glistening body. He had to release. No. How could he, without the priests to collect his essence? It was preposterous. A sacrilege.

What to do then? How to tame this rising urge? Kthulhu blinked his eyes as he searched for answers. He felt so tense right now. His instincts were on the verge of exploding, yelling at him to get off the ground and do something about the wetness between his legs After a minute of silence, Kthulhu slid two fingers towards his pussy. Perhaps, if he was quiet enough, nobody -not even the gods- would notice. He moved lower, and lower, gritting his teeth when he touched the rim of his entrance.

"Aaawwrrrr!" he snapped at bare air, his finger pulling back as if bitten. "Warm. Too warm, too wet...Priest. Need a priest to...to..." Kthulhu panted with utmost desire, knowing full well he had not the strength or the expertise to release his nectar by himself. There was no other way but to escape.

The creature crawled towards the door, touching along the rim, feeling the thrumming of the barrier against the pads of his finger. Offworlders often needed a nexus of energy to power up their devices. Mr Fox pulled something out of his weapon. That's how he created the barrier that allowed them to escape.

Kthulhu explored the door thoroughly. He found nothing suspicious with his hands, so he tried his claws, sneaking in the tips along the door. The frame grew warmer, and warmer, until he pulled his finger back.

"There," the creature tapped the wall. "Need to hit. Something strong."

His tail? No, no. He couldn't risk breaking it against the wall. Kthulhu then looked at his feet. Better. Sturdier.

He propped himself on his back, then slammed his foot against the wall. His first hits lacked strength, but when he was sure Mr Fox was not coming, Kthulhu hit harder, and harder, until the barrier fizzled into nothingness.

"Awwrr, rawr!" the creature rolled around excitedly. "Did it did it did it! Ship is mine. All mine!"

He crawled silently along the corridor. Everything was silent, as if even the ship was asleep. Kthulhu stepped on his toes as he headed towards the command room. Most of the lights have dimmed into a soft glow. The ship's head wasn't on the table, and Mr Fox, the determined captain of this ship, slouched back in his chair, tongue poking out between his canines.

He was asleep, same as everything else.

Kthulhu's heart quickened. He never had the chance to explore his savior...until now. Mr Fox was dressed much more lightly. His previous equipment was replaced by soft fabric. He had a dark colored vest that split around the white of his belly, a short pair of pants, and no metals around his bare legs.

Kthulhu rounded the fox a few times. He knew why he was wearing those ugly garments: to appear meaner than he actually was. His fur was rather dense, red, just like the setting sun. Kthulhu particularly liked the color of his belly. White suited the fox quite well. Would he bear the same color between his legs?

The creature's eyes glimmered with curiosity. He approached the sleeping fox as silently as he could, then sniffed him from the top of his ears all the way to his belly, going along his side, passing the tawny fabric of his pants, drawing in the smells lingering around the male's crotch.

Kthulhu clenched his jaws as hard as he could to suppress a silent growl. He never smelled such interesting odor, and his eyes picked on a splotch of wetness right in the middle.

Kthulhu couldn't help himself. He flexed his fingers, then slowly, carefully pushed the fox's pants down. His breath hitched in his throat. His muscles tensed. He was going to see him. Gods, he was really doing this! And as he rolled down the pants along the fox's silky fur, Kthulhu held his breath in, looking only at the ground until the bothersome cloth met the steel ground.

Only then he looked between the male's legs.

His pupils widened not under the shock of surprise, but under the warm shivers of arousal. Kthulhu never saw a male's cock before, certainly not a fox's. He had a vague idea of what to expect. After all, his curiosity did get the better of him that one time when he sneaked in at the hot lake without his entourage of priests accompanying him. He saw a few sheaths. Some balls. But never pink.

His cock. That's what it was. He was too innocent to understand it back then, but now, with Mr Fox' gender displayed right in front of his eyes, Kthulhu certainly knew what he was staring at: an irresistible treat that oozed one of the most enticing smells he ever ingested.

Kthulhu slowly approached his snout to take a closer look. The smells became stronger, more irresistible. When he took another breath, his eyes rolling on the back of his head for a few seconds. It was so intense...so delicious. And it looked so plump! The whole genital region was covered in short white fur. Three things stood out. Mr Fox' sheath, the spheres underneath it, and the wet fleshy head that poked its slimy tip out.

Kthulhu immediately realized Mr Fox was different than the people from his village. He was not only smaller, but had a different anatomy altogether. His sheath hid something else within its bosom. The outline of two smaller spheres was visible right above his sack. Oh, that looked plump too. Did it feel as fuzzy as it looked?

Kthulhu's curious fingers acted on impulse, grabbing one of the spheres, then the next, playing them before his fingers.

"So warm..." he licked his lips with lust. "The higher I go...the warmer you are..." The creature whispered as he slowly climbed along the fox's sheath. He felt the tension rippling through it like the waves of a churning sea. The cock was alive. It pumped like a living, beating heart, hardening for just a second before returning to its half aroused state. Kthulhu grabbed around the second set of spheres, and when he did, a soft wince escaped from the fox's muzzle, freezing everything in the room.

For a few seconds, he remained stuck there, with one hand on his sheath and the other on his balls, wondering if the fox would wake up and catch him right in the act.

He didn't. Kthulhu pulled back. He had quite a fright, but somehow, just looking at it didn't feel quite enough.

"You are wet too..." he placed his head right between the fox's auburn flanks, supporting his chin on the surface of a fist. A sticky sheen covered the pink opening of the fuzzy shelter, all coming out of the cock he stared at.

Kthulhu closed his eyes. His tongue slowly slid between his parting jaws, and without a sliver of doubt, he touched Mr Fox on what was possibly the most intimate part of his body.

His senses went aflame at the contact. Musky scent entered his nostrils, sharp and overwhelming. Kthulhu circled around the warm fleshy head, then rolled his tongue back into his salivating maw to sample that delicious, highly arousing taste. It was sweet, slightly bitter, but to his aroused senses it registered as something much more enticing.

Kthulhu swallowed the potent concoction. His head swam with lust and desire for the male's essence, so he went in for another taste. He puckered his lips, then let the fox's wet tip slide inside, feeling it tense briefly before a squirt of lukewarm fluid splashed upon his tongue.

Kthulhu moaned silently as he wrapped the tip with his lips. It was so hot, so juicy, so arousing. He played his tongue around to feel its smooth texture. Tiny veins ran under the flesh, their outlines throbbing with increasing desperation. Mr Fox grew inside his mouth, and that made the creature feel even warmer than the member he was suckling on.

Kthulhu's lips smacked with lewd noises as he drew in the tastes from Mr Fox' cock, his tongue swirling around the oozing head, passing so slowly over the hole that squirted all that delicious treat. Mr Fox was very sensitive there. The more he insisted, the quicker he squirted, and soon Kthulhu was no longer pleased with just the head.

He pushed the sheath down, making sure to lick over the entire surface of the salty member on the way to the bulge. Slowly and surely, his mouth was filled by the fox's engorging cock. He pushed, and pushed, until his lips touched the hard outline of his bulge.

That was his cue to stop. He didn't want to harm him, so he kept his warm cock in his maw, suckling it with the voracious hunger he could muster. Every throb that coursed through the tightening flesh made him bigger, harder, warmer, and Kthulhu feasted on it to quench the thirst of his aroused instincts.

Yet even that was not enough. After a minute or so, Kthulhu started thrusting his hips into bare air. Drops of translucent fluid dribbled from his soaked flesh.

"Nrrrrffff," Kthulhu moaned as he swallowed the mixture of precum and saliva. It felt so good to feel that warmth run rampant along his lips. So filling. He pushed himself forth, then back, his aching lips sliding with the weight of the momentum, coaxing wave after wave of hot lubrication.

He thrust once, twice, thrice, and when the heat became too immense to contain, Kthulhu threw his head back, leaving Mr Fox to throb in the bare, dry air. He was big. Healthy. Fertile. And his instincts whispered of only one thing.

Breed him.

Kthulhu stood up. Lines of thick arousal dribbled down his legs. He straddled Mr Fox' sleeping form, advancing towards his cock until their genders aligned. Then, slowly, Kthulhu pushed himself down.

The heat of a hardened cock made him wince with desire. He rubbed his shivering lips around the pointy head of the fox's member, trembling with the desire to mate. He didn't quite know where to fit it, so he kept rubbing genders together until that hard, throbbing organ suddenly slid inside his narrow hole.

Kthulhu grabbed his rebellious snout and squeezed it shut almost as hard as his muscles embraced the heated pole piercing towards the core of his being. He never expected it to feel so intense. Tears formed in his eyes, trailing down his face along with a long, whiny whimper. Mr Fox' hardened erection slid through his soaked tunnel like a perfect match, rubbing his untouched walls in ways he never thought possible.

Kthulhu let him slide deeper, and deeper, breathless from the intense feelings rushing through his incredibly receptive flesh. He parted invitingly before the male's cock, and when his lips kissed his bulge, he gasped from how good that felt.

"Muurrrrrhhhhh," the creature's jaws trembled like his erratic pussy. He wanted this. Needed it. He rode that hardened shaft a little, coercing it to squirt, but after a few spasms, holding it inside just didn't feel enough.

Kthulhu slowly pulled himself back. His flesh dribbled worse than his maw. He wanted to wipe the drool off his chin, but that meant letting go of his snout, and Kthulhu didn't trust his instincts to behave. What he felt a moment ago was more than what words could describe. Overwhelmingly intense. Almost frightening. He had no idea what would happen if he took in the entirety of the fox's member inside him...but by the Gods' serene breath, he wanted him there; deep inside his shelter, spurting string of hot liquid into the wet embrace of his flesh.

Kthulhu took a shaky breath. He rubbed his pussy along the fox's throbbing cock, finding the rippling sensation extremely stimulating. He did that for a bit. Then his instincts demanded more. The creature anchored his weight on his limbs, then thrust himself upon the male's cock with quick, lustful motions, his squelching lips painting the fox's snowy crotch with strands of translucent lust.

Kthulhu felt the heat build up within his pussy. He kept at it for several messy thrusts, taking Mr Fox inside him, kissing his sheath, his balls, his crotch. It felt wonderful, yet at the same time, lacking the sting of finality. Something was missing. Kthulhu thrust harder, and harder, until his pussy slipped a bit too far. The bulge that acted like a barrier now slipped right inside him, a mass of hardened flesh that stretched his virgin tunnel more than he ever expected.

His blue eyes shut with strain. Breath stuck in his throat. All he managed to let out was an uncertain yelp as his untouched pussy was filled with the strongest ripples he ever tasted. Heat twisted and contorted within his tunnel. Something stirred, deep within his being, stronger and more terrifying than any threat.

Kthulhu didn't know what it was. Only that it was coming...and that he could do nothing to stop it.

"Mruuuurrrrrr!" He clamped his fingers around his snout as his muscles suddenly tightened. All the heat he harbored within him, all the lust, all that pent-up pleasure he built with his humping now oozed out with sharp, blissful squirts, coating the fox's cock with two sharp waves of liquid heat.

Kthulhu didn't know what exactly happened. Everything lasted for only a few seconds, but he felt tired and worn. He slowly picked his head up. His face was covered in tears of pleasure, and each of his limbs shivered with weakness. It was done. He mated.

Kthulhu pulled himself back, wincing as the big bulge plopped out of his pussy along with another wave of liquid heat. He felt satisfied for a brief moment until his messy lips started itching again. The heat rolled over him like a blanket, even more oppressive than the first time.

Kthulhu licked his dripping teeth. He held Mr Fox inside for a bit so he could recover, then pressed his pussy onto his bulge, feeling his flesh stretch around him until his big knot slid right in.

"Awwwrrr...so...so big..."

Kthulhu's fleshy pussy kissed Mr Fox' cock in the lewdest of ways, keeping him fully inside, massaging him within his warm flesh. Then, when his flesh began to itch, he pulled himself back, allowing more sweet heat to impregnate the fox's crotch. Kthulhu loved the thrill he got from humping that hardened cock. It just fit so well inside him. Of course the sensation of being filled was another motivator, along with the generous squirts he expelled. Those were a special treat.

Kthulhu picked his pace, no longer caring about bulge or no bulge. He took everything within the fleshy reaches of his tunnel, moaning with elation as his muscles stretched around the fox's knot.

Kthulhu thrust, and thrust, each time harder than the last, until that wonderful sensation of liberation threatened to explode once again. At the height of his bliss, he smacked his wet pussy onto Mr Fox's soaked crotch, pushing the soaked sheath rolling all the way down, exposing the entirety of that glistening erection to the pounding of the creature's thrusts. The fox's body trembled too. His balls tensed, his cock throbbed, and Kthulhu kept on riding that sweet hard stick up to the point where his whole body threatened to give in. A burst of ecstasy rushed through his pussy, so intense and debilitating that every muscle in his body froze.

"Uuuuurrrrr!" Kthulhu's lips smacked against the fox's wet crotch. He fell on top of Mr Fox, hot and sweaty, surrounding his cock in a nest of soaked, trembling flesh.

It was too much for the sleeping fox to bear. The intensity of the mating got to him way faster than Kthulhu ever anticipated. He first heard Mr Fox grunt, then, before he could even open his mouth, a sharp jet of heat rushed through the creature's tunnel.

It was seed. Thick, creamy seed. Only one spurt came yet the feel of that life giving essence sliding through his passage loosened Kthulhu's pent-up lust. He didn't just cum. He exploded, bathing Mr Fox with a whole tsunami of heated riptide. Gushes overflowed from Kthulhu's spasming pussy, and to the fox's sensitive cock, that was a heavenly feeling. His mating instincts prompted him to push, to lodge his knot as deep as he could to keep the erupting essence inside.

Kthulhu couldn't handle himself after Mr Fox started spurting inside him in his earnest. He nibbled onto his neck, soft moans washing into his ears as he milked the fox with lusty vengeance. It felt so good, so filling to have his sensitive insides painted with a male's essence. His instincts washed the lingering fear with waves of blissful pleasure, and his pussy ejected them through sharp squirts so that the fox's precious seed could be drawn deeper inside.

It was so much. Mr Fox was cumming so hard, so fast, his malehood throbbing viciously under the caress of Kthulhu's restless muscles. Each time the creature spasmed around the hardened knot, the fox pumped, sending yet another rope of gooey seed into the soaked reaches of the creature's dripping cunt, forming a pool of warmth inside his overflowing tunnel.

Kthulhu wanted to stop. His breath grew shallow, his chest felt tight, his body weak... He couldn't cope with the intensity of his first mating, but the pressure exerted upon his muscles was great, and the squirts too intense to keep back. As soon as his orgasm ended, another started, sending him into another milking fit all over again. Stars started sparkling into existence before his eyes. He blinked them away, but they split into more dazzling shards until his body threatened to give in.

That's when Kthulhu stumbled back from the chair. The fox's knot plopped with a messy squelch, allowing a riptide of thick fluids to splash upon the ground. Kthulhu tried to hold them in, yet his muscles spasmed eratically, unloading wave after wave of burdening proof upon the ship's floor.

With no way to mask his actions, the creature rushed back to his chamber.

The solitude of the prison felt slightly comforting. Kthulhu smacked his fist against the panel, but the luminous door refused to rematerialize. He was alone. Exposed. What if...?

Kthulhu shook his head fiercely. Mr Fox was fiercely asleep. If that constant thrusting didn't wake him up, nothing would.

With his fears settled, Kthulhu focused his senses on something more enjoyable. He dabbed at the wetness between his legs. He felt sticky. Warm. Filled with more than just temporary relief. Pushing a finger inside, the creature trembled and growled. Even after all those spasming quivers, his muscles remained sensitive. Kthulhu twisted around a few times, gathering enough slime, then sniffed the unique scents before taking them inside his maw.

"Mrrr...mrawwwrr..." Kthulhu rumbled pleasantly. He knew the sweet tint of his juices rather well by now, yet the thicker, more bitter fragrance felt much more fulfilling. It was the taste of life. Of seed, spurted from a male's plump sack. The creature dabbed back between his dripping folds, then licked and slurped, not minding the sound of steps until a figure stood before him.

"You little slime..."

The creature wrapped his legs with his tail, flinching back towards the wall as if the Fox was pointing a spear at him.

"Why have you done it? Why?!"

"Do...do what?"

"Are you going to play stupid with me? That's your escape plan?"

"No escape. Just...I slept, is all. Slept in here."

Though his privates were concealed behind two tucked knees and a tail, Kthulhu knew he needed more than just lies to persuade the fox. He had that angry glare back in his eyes. A ferocity reserved only for his enemies.

"Admit."

"Mrr?"

"Admit!" Mr Fox snarled. "Stop lying and tell me why you forced yourself upon me!"

Kthulhu froze. No words escaped his maw. None needed to. The fox swiped some of the goo, sniffed it, then thrust his finger back between Kthulhu's big, cerulean eyes.

"Seed, eh? Seed and cunt juice. I knew you were an odd one, but I imagined you'd have something between your legs. A small cock hidden deep inside. Turns out I was wrong. You wanted to breed me."

"No. Never. I just-"

"You want my bastards running around your village? That's it, Kthulhu?" The fox spat that name with utmost spite while the creature bowed his head against those harmful words.

"I can't...I can't..."

"Can't what? Look at me and say it!" Mr Fox thundered.

"I can't breed!" Kthulhu's teary eyes shot up. "The priests who take my essence...they said I'll never carry life inside my belly. I never wanted to harm you, or take advantage of you. Just..." the creature's voice softened. "I just wanted to reward you..."

The fox yelped with laughter.

"It's true," Kthulhu continued after the ship grew silent. "You saved my life. You were good to me...better than the pirates would have been for sure. I wanted to take you back to the village and hold a feast in your honor, but then you told me about the watcher and the looters and..."

"Yeah, yeah. Heard that story before. I'm not going to let you off the hook so easily. Cock or no cock, you'll repent for what you did for me."

"Rep...repant... What is repant?" The creature tilted his head.

"Repent. Means to make up for your mistakes," Mr Fox took a few more steps, then crouched right in front of Kthulhu. "I was good to you. Still am. So I am going to give you a choice and not throw you off my ship like they did with me. You either stay on this ship with me and put whatever talents you've got to use on tracking down these pirates, or I will navigate back to whatever remains of your swamp and dump you there like a crate of cargo. What will it be?"

"Stay. I'll stay," Kthulhu said immediately. "You aren't...too upset with me, right?"

"That depends on how helpful you are."

Kthulhu tried to ignore the warm snakes trailing along his flanks as he got up. He already felt embarrassed enough with the fox's verdant eyes fixed on him.

"Bet you weren't so indecisive when you rode me."

"I...I-"

"You, you, you," a fuzzy arm wrapped around Kthulhu's neck. "You are going to put that fish head of yours to use, and then, if I somehow feel more generous than I usually am, I'll let you use the shower."

Kthulhu narrowed his eyes. "What's a shower?"

"You've got a lot more to learn..." Mr Fox said as he led the creature back to the command chamber.
