#12 of A different kind of training

I'm back! I'd like to thank you guys for your patience with me for getting back on my paws. If you'd like to know what happened, check out my journal. Now for what you've all been waiting for, the next chapter of A Different Kind of Training! Unfortunately, this one doesn't have any sex, but it does introduce a few new characters when Ronan goes to visit his parents... to confront them about their investment in a certain underground establishment. One word: awkward! Well, I hope you guys enjoy my writing. And don't worry, more-sexy times will come in the near future.

Obvious disclaimer: I don't own pokemon, but the characters themselves belong to me.

Also, for those who are interested to know why I left, you can check out my journal here.

POV Ronan

It was the next morning, and my pokemon and I were at a diner for breakfast. As usual, we had ordered plenty for the table and they were chowing down. I had stepped away for a bit to make a call.

I pressed the call button to my parents' work phone. Odds were that they were there rather than the house. It only rang twice before it was answered.

I heard the familiar voice of my father say, "Hello?" It was clear that he hadn't checked the caller ID. Otherwise he would've greeted me by name.

In a teasing tone, I said, "Guess who."

I heard some sudden squeaking. He probably suddenly sat straight up. "Oh, hey Ronan, didn't see the number on the phone."

"Thought so," I replied. "So I just got the Rainbow badge in Celadon."

"That's great news," he said proudly. "You're getting through them awfully fast, huh?"

"Yeah," I said thoughtfully, "I suppose I have. My pokemon deserve the credit though. I mean, I seem to keep finding the strong ones. My kecleon knows mirror coat, my buizel knows ice beam, and my charmander has already grown strong enough to use flamethrower."

I could hear some scratching on the other end. It sounded like he was writing something down. "Certainly sounds lucky to me," he replied. "Any other interesting variances in their move sets?"

"Not that I can tell," I said. "Anyways, I was thinking of dropping by the office for lunch. I could grab a pizza and we could spend some time together. Sound good?"

I could hear him clicking something on his computer. "Yeah, twelve-thirty sound good?"

I smiled. It would be nice being able to spend some time with my parents again. "Sounds perfect. I'll catch a bus heading there. Mind if I use the card?"

He chuckled, "I'll allow an exception for this."

"Cool, see you then."

"Bye."

We both hung up, and I went back to my table. It looked like the pokemon had polished off the bacon without saving me any. I gave them an annoyed look. "Really, guys?" They just gave me innocent smiles in response. I shook my head and sighed with a smile. No matter what they did, I could never stay mad at them for more than a few minutes. They were just too cute. Luckily, I managed to get in some of the remaining sausage and pancakes before they got to them.

"So what's the plan?" asked Masu. "Another hike through the forest?"

I shook my head and replied, "Nope. We're gonna take a bus to Saffron City, so I can visit my parents."

Masu quipped with a smirk, "You mean the parents who donated a small fortune to an establishment bordering on a pokemon brothel?"

I couldn't help but blush at the thought. It had come as quite a shock to me when I had learned that my parents were pokephiliacs, too. The thought of them fooling around with pokemon... well, it was a pretty awkward picture. I knew that I would have to talk to them about it, but I couldn't even imagine how to ease the conversation into the topic. "Yes... Those parents," I replied slowly.

Yari chuckled. "Gonna ask them which type of pokemon they like banging the best?"

Surprisingly, Nengan expressed my indignation for me with a sharp tone, "Yari!" He was giving Yari a chastising glare on my behalf. I found it sweet that he was defending me.

Yari whined, "Aww, c'mon. It's not like we all don't want to know."

"No, you guys are staying in your balls until after I talk to them about it," I said sternly, pointing a finger at Yari. "Got it?"

Yari looked a bit taken aback at how I acted about it. "Yes, sir," he muttered quietly before looking down at his nearly empty plate. I felt kinda bad about it, but I knew how they'd act. Yari would act all perverted about it, asking all the most inappropriate and invasive questions, and Masu would talk about how much I act like a bitch for him. The only one who I would actually trust to be out during the conversation was Nengan, but I felt like it should be something just between them and me.

It didn't take much longer for us to finish our meal. I paid with the credit card, and then we headed out to the bus station. I recalled my pokemon before heading in. I wasn't sure if they would try to charge me for each of them, too, so I decided to play it safe. I approached the ticket vendor and said, "I'd like a ticket to Saffron City, please."

"One thousand pokedollars," the vendor replied. I held out my card, which he took and rang through the machine. He pulled out a ticket and handed it to me, which I thanked him for before departing. I got onto the bus and took a seat near the back. I was happy to find that the seats were pretty wide. It looked wide enough for everyone to fit. I let out my pokemon, who were happy to be out.

Masu sat between Yari and me and then stretched, "Man, I hate being confined to that ball. It's so irritating."

I rubbed his head a bit. "Sorry, bud, but I can't keep you out all the time," I replied. He gave a look of enjoyment as I petted him.

Yari smirked and teased, "You enjoying being petted, Masu?"

Masu glared at him in a friendly manner. "You better watch that tongue, or I might make you put it somewhere else," he retorted with a smirk.

Nengan chuckled, "As if he'd mind." Yari licked his lips in a lecherous manner and smirked at Masu who gave a grin in reply. I couldn't help but find them really cute. They seemed to becoming really good friends in spite of their rocky start.

Nengan craned his head back to look up at me. "So what are your parents like?" he asked curiously.

I gave a light sigh. "Well," I started, "they are certainly good parents. They were always there for me when it really counted, but their work life kept them away most of the time. They are incredibly dedicated to their jobs."

"It certainly sounds like it. They were the ones who made the translator, right?" he asked.

"Heh, yeah, them and a group of engineers," I replied cheerfully. "And I am damn glad they did. Otherwise I wouldn't get to hear you beg for me stop doing this." I began to tickle his sides which got him to immediately start giggling.

"Ronan!" he laughed as he writhed and squirmed around in my lap, trying to avoid my fingers. I couldn't help but chuckle as he tried to bat my hands away. After a few more seconds of tickling him, I relented to let him catch his breath. He turned around and gave me a cute pout. "That's not fair. You're, like, three times my size."

"Aww, I was just playing around," I replied. I scratched just under his chin getting him to churr in pleasure and gave him a quick kiss on his nose. I got close to him and whispered sensually, "You know I can't help but want to touch you all over." He couldn't help but grin and get a light blush as I said that to him. He gave me a quick lick on the cheek in response.

The rest of the time we spent chatting and goofing off. It was a lot of fun just being able to talk with them without having to worry about getting lost in the woods or getting exhausted from the constant walking. It's too bad we couldn't do this all the time. The only downside was not being able to actually join in on the dirty jokes with them. I didn't think that the other people on the bus would find it very amusing talking to my pokemon like that. I got a few odd stares just talking to them in general, but I explained about the translator and they gave a nod of understanding. I don't know why I felt the need to explain. Perhaps just to ease their mind that I wasn't a schizophrenic who was off his meds. I know I would certainly feel a bit uncomfortable if I saw someone who thought that they could understand pokemon perfectly without a translator.

What would've probably taken us a couple days, only took the bus a couple hours. We arrived in the busy Celadon City's bus station. People were bustling around, trying to find or get off their bus. We quickly rushed out of the station and onto the streets where it was slightly less busy.

"It's a mad-house in there!" Nengan exclaimed.

"Yeah," Masu agreed, "I swear there was this kid who tried to intentionally step on me. Should've iced that impudent brat."

"You would've been in some real trouble if you had," I replied, "so it's good you didn't." I looked around. "Wait... where's Yari?"

Nengan and Masu looked around. Nengan said, "He was right behind me."

"Damnit," I cursed. "I knew I should've recalled you guys before we got off." I began calling out for Yari, hoping that he would hear me. I only called out a few times before I heard a strange noise. "Kekekekeke." It sounded like a kind of giggling. I looked down where the sound was coming from and saw the distinctive stripe. I yelled angrily, "Yari, that's not funny! You scared me to death!"

Yari stopped using his camouflage ability and kept laughing, "Sorry, Ronan, but I just couldn't help myself. It was the perfect opportunity."

Masu snickered at Yari's joke. "Nice one," he smirked and gave him a high five.

"Don't encourage him!" I said a bit angrily. I knelt down next to Yari and said, "You really had me worried."

Yari seemed to understand exactly how I felt by the tone I used. He nodded and looked down sadly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I won't do it again."

I kissed his forehead lightly, "Thank you." I stood up, and with a much cheerier voice, I asked, "Now who wants some pizza?" That certainly got their spirits back up. All three were jumping and shouting excitedly, which made me chuckle. They're always so cute when get excited about things. We all headed down to my favorite pizza joint, PizzaZard. It was a local pizza place that miraculously managed to stand up against the major pizza chains that littered the city. The owner was a good friend with my parents all the way back from their schooldays. He had a charizard that helped him cook the pizza. They always managed to cook it perfectly. And the sauce, to die for.

We entered the pizza joint and head up to the counter where the owner was. He was my parents' age, tall, and slim. His fiery red hair was held up in a short ponytail. One of his eyes had a jagged scar over it from some accident he never told me about, but whatever happened, it caused that eye to go blind. The other eye shone a brilliant azure color that almost seemed to sparkle in the light. He was of course wearing an apron that had a fierce-looking charizard breathing a large flame on it. I noticed that he was wearing an earpiece with the Silph Co. logo on it. It seemed to be a new version of the translator I had. My parents must've given it to him as a gift. "Hey," I said happily, "Uncle Tido! It's been a while."

His real name was Tidashi, but I prefered to call him Tido, and he jokingly insisted that he was my uncle, so that's what I called him. "Hey, kiddo," he said with a smile, "long time no see. You're usually here, like, every few days. What's going on?"

I chuckled a bit, "Yeah, I've been out of town for a while." I motioned down to my pokemon.

He grinned. "That explains it. And I see that you chose a charmander, just like I did. You certainly take after me." We chuckled at the lame joke.

"Yeah," I replied. "How could I not? Cute little lizards at the beginning, and strong, magnificent dragons at the end." I noticed that Nengan couldn't help but grin in pride at the compliment to his species.

"So, what can I get for you and your friends," he asked happily.

"Let's see," I replied, thinking a bit before ordering. "I think we'll get three personal pan pizzas, one with anchovies, one with pineapples, and one with that super-spicy sauce and pepperoni. And also a large sausage."

"Coming right up, kid." He goes into the back room to make the pizzas.

I said to Yari, "I seriously can't believe that you actually like pineapple on your pizza."

"Hey," he shot back, "I don't judge you for enjoying mint in your water."

"That's just to help clear my sinuses," I said defensively. He replied by childishly sticking at least of foot of his tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes and gave a look that said, "Really?" Masu and Nengan chuckled at our little argument.

Tido popped his head out and asked, "Hey, Ronan, wanna come back here and say hi to Draco?"

I grinned excitedly. "You know I would never say no to that," I replied, rushing into the back room, my pokemon following me. I was immediately greeted with a hug by a large charizard. I chuckled and hugged him back, "I know, buddy, it's been too long."

He rumbled happily in my ear, "I've missed my little buddy." He gave me an affectionate lick on the cheek, making me chuckle a bit.

I smiled happily and replied, "I've missed you too, Draco. Enjoying the easy life?"

He must've noticed that I had a translator, either that or he wouldn't have minded if I didn't understand him, because he answered me in a casual tone, "Well, there are times when I feel a bit cooped up, but Tidashi is sure to give me time to exercise and spar at the fighting dojo."

I patted his back between his wings. "That's nice to hear. I wouldn't want you to go stir-crazy from not being able to get all that energy out." He nuzzled me affectionately and I petted his head a bit. "So I've stated my own journey, which is why I haven't been around lately."

"And you didn't tell me?" he asked feigning feeling insulted. "We could've thrown you a big pizza party before you left."

"You mean you could bake a dozen more pizzas than we would need so you could eat them?" I teased. He gave a small pout, which looked quite amusing on such a large beast. "Keep that up and you're gonna get an even bigger belly." I patted his large belly.

"Hey," he gave a friendly growl, "this is all muscle." He gave a smirk, and in a teasing tone he said, "Or do I need to wrestle you to the ground again to prove it."

Draco and I had play-wrestled many times before. We started when he was a charmeleon, and it was much more evenly match then. Ever since he evolved, I hadn't won once, but it was still fun trying to take him down. I would always end on my belly with him sitting on me. The idea of being beaten and pinned down by him now... well, it was certainly something that I found very appealing. I tried not to let on how much I actually wanted it.

"Anyways," I said trying to change the subject, "I thought you might like to meet my team." Motioning to them in turn, I continued. "This is Masu, he's got a fighting spirit that rivals yours. This is Yari, a mischievous little pest if I've ever seen one." Yari smirked at how I described him. Suddenly I felt claws climbing up my back and Nengan popped his head over my shoulder as he hung on. I chuckled at his antics. "And this is Nengan."

Nengan waved and said cheerfully, "Hi there."

Draco chuckled and rubbed Nengan's head, "Aww, you got a mini me."

Nengan growled playfully and nipped at his hand. "I may be small, but I'll bite you claws off." He gave a smile afterwards to show he was just playing.

Draco chuckled and grinned, "You're a feisty one, aren'tchya? You remind me of me when I was a 'mander." He scratched under Nengan's chin a bit, getting him to chitter happily.

"And how long did it take for you to evolve after you started battling and training?" Nengan asked with a hint of eagerness.

Draco tapped his chin a few times, clearly thinking back. "I think it was only a couple months before I evolved."

Uncle Tido interrupted, "Draco, gonna need some more flames here." Draco immediately headed over to the uncooked pizzas and breathed a steady flame over them. It only took a matter of minutes before the pizzas were fully cooked to perfection. "Ready to get rung up, Ronan?"

I nodded and headed back into the main area, pulling out my credit card and handing it to him. "And be sure to give yourself a nice tip," I said with a grin, "my parents are paying."

He chuckled a bit, "Well, if you insist." He slid the card through the scanner and handed it back to me. "Enjoy the pizzas."

I smirked and replied, "I always do." I grabbed the pizzas and walked to the Silph Co. building. I would have talked to the receptionist, Betty, first, but as my arms were full of a bunch of pizzas that were slowly losing their heat, I opted to head straight up to my parents' office. The elevator ride seemed longer than I remembered. Perhaps it was because I was a bit nervous about the upcoming conversation that was sure to be very awkward and embarrassing. It had to happen though. The most difficult part would be figuring out how to bring up the subject.

The elevator opened at the top floor with a quiet ding. My pokemon and I headed out and went straight down the corridor. At the end of the hall was a set of double doors. "Mind getting those for me?" I asked my pokemon.

"Yeah," Nengan said cheerfully, "no problem." The three of them scampered down the hall and pushed one of the doors open and held it for me. As I go in, I see my parents had gotten up and were coming over to help me, both of whom were wearing translators.

My father had short black hair and was a bit taller than my mother. His eyes looked more rested than usual, but the wrinkles of weariness were still prominent. My guess was that he had gotten some shut-eye while he was waiting for me to get here, but he was still probably working too much. He seemed to have changed for the occasion. Instead of the usual suit and tie, he was wearing his relaxing clothes: a tee-shirt and jeans. He actually seemed to have lost weight since last I saw him. He had lost a noticeable amount of his belly which was where he kept most of his weight. It was clear that he still had a bit of chub, but he certainly was a lot slimmer.

My mother looked fairly similar. The same wrinkles, yet surprisingly awake eyes and casual outfit. Of course her clothes and hair were a bit different. She had auburn hair that was shoulder length, which she had put up into a ponytail. She had on a short-sleeved shirt and yoga pants. Most kids would've been embarrassed to see their mom in yoga pants, but I didn't really mind. At least she was fit. It wasn't a pretty sight when someone really overweight is wearing spandex.

Dad came over to me and grabbed the pizzas, "Here, let me." He took them over to a table that was set up there. It was a small table, built to seat four people comfortably. It would fit all of us though, if we got a bit closer. "Is that sausage I smell?" Dad asked with a grin.

He and I shared the same love for sausage pizza. I gave a small smirk and replied, "You know it." As my father set down the pizzas and began getting some pieces onto some paper plates, my pokemon quickly climbed onto the table.

Mom gave a soft chuckle. "Looks like your pokemon are eager for food, too," she said. She came over and rubbed Nengan's head, making him give a low rumble of appreciation. "Quite the cutie you are."

Nengan smiled at the compliment, "Thanks. My name's Nengan"

Mom stroke his back and replied, "What a cute name."

He arched his back into her hand, enjoying the attention. "Ronan picked it out for me," he said with a soft trill.

Having dished up the pizzas, Dad placed the plates with the sausage pizza in front of the chairs. "Let's see," he said to himself as he opened up the personal pizzas. He opened up the spicy-sauce pizza first. The strong scent of the spice hit him quickly. "Whoa! I take it this one is for you," he said placing it in front of Nengan, who grins and nods. He opened up the next one. "Anchovies," he said in a teasing tone, "now I wonder who could've wanted this."

Masu raised his paws, trying to the pizza that was just out of reach, "C'mon man, I'm starving."

Dad chuckled, "Impatient little one, isn't he?" He lowered the pizza onto the table in front of him. Masu eagerly took a few bites out of it.

I chuckled too, "Yeah, that's Masu for you. He wants what he wants when he wants it." I petted his head a bit. "He's quite the fighter though."

Masu smirked and, with a little bit of pizza still in mouth, said, "Best one he's got."

Yari chuckled and smirked, "I still kicked your ass when we first met." I faceplamed. Yari knew exactly how to push Masu's buttons, and that was the biggest one.

Masu balled his fist and shook it angrily at him, "You cheated!"

Yari gasped and in a false tone of indignation asked, "How dare you accuse me of doing such a thing?!" I rolled my eyes. I had thought that they were over this. It seemed different this time though. They seemed to have a slight undertone of playfulness and teasing.

"Oh, I dare!" Masu shot a weak jet of water gun at him, just enough to push him off the table. Yari landed with an "oof" on the floor. Masu crossed his arms and grinned triumphantly. Yari responded by sneaking his tongue around Masu's ankle and pulled him off the table too. Masu gave a surprised yelp as he suddenly was falling to the ground.

My parents chuckled. My dad joked, "Quite the team you got here."

I grinned and replied, "They're just kidding around." I paused for a moment before adding, "I think."

Dad opened up the final pizza and asked, "Pineapple?"

I shrugged, "I really don't know why Yari likes it so much, but he insists." Dad shrugged and placed it next to the others while Masu and Yari climbs back onto the table. Mom grabbed a few sodas and placed them on the table.

We all began eating. Damn, I missed this pizza. There was no other pizza that was as good as this. I didn't know how he managed to make it so delicious, and to be honest, I didn't really care. As long as I got to enjoy it, I was happy with it.

Dad started the conversation, "So how are you enjoying your journey so far?" He looked genuinely interested, which made me happy. It was nice to know that they were really behind my decision.

"It's going well," I replied. "As you can see, I'm off to a good start on my team. We've all been working really hard on becoming stronger, and they know quite a few neat moves."

"Really?" Mom asked leaning in interestedly. "How about some examples?"

"Well, as I told Dad earlier, Yari knows how to use mirror coat," I said. "That certainly helped us out in a few battles. And I'm sure that it will be invaluable in future battles, too. Masu can use ice beam. Helped us out quite a bit when taking on Celadon's gym."

"That's about all he could do there," Yari ribbed teasingly. He snapped his tongue and grabbed a pineapple chunk with it.

Masu growled and pushed him a bit, "Not like you did much better."

Yari gave a cocky smirk and shot back, "But I did do better."

Masu couldn't help but chuckle at how cheeky Yari was being. He shook his head a bit and retorted in a friendly manner, "Oh, screw you."

This, of course, got Yari to reply in the way he always does. He licked his lips teasingly and said in a playful tone, "Maybe later."

A light blush spread across my cheeks. 'Oh, Arceus,' I thought to myself, 'I can't believe he actually said that. Is he trying to embarrass me?' I tried to hide my face by pretending to have a small coughing fit into my elbow.

"Don't choke on us, kid," Dad joked, chuckling softly at his own joke. Looked like my distraction worked, plus it gave a reason for my red face. He looked over to my charmander and asked, "What about you Nengan? You've been pretty quiet"

Nengan looked up with a mouthful of pizza and sauce covering his lips and cheeks. "Hmm?" he asked, clearly unable to speak from how much pizza he'd stuffed into his mouth. My parents and I laughed at the sight.

Mom grabbed a napkin and went clean his face, but he was too quick and licked up all the sauce before she could get to him. "Enjoying the pizza?" she asked cheerfully, wiping off the saliva that he had spread on himself.

He gave an eager nod before swallowing. "It tastes so good!" he beamed happily. He immediately takes another few bites of it, his cheeks swelling as he got as much as he could.

I petted his head affectionately and said, "Well, maybe we'll have to go back and tell Uncle Tido and Draco how much you like it. And maybe we can get you another one." The little lizard eagerly nodded his head with his eyes wide in excitement. I smiled at his eagerness. "Alright, sounds like a plan." I wiped a little bit of sauce that he had missed and wiped it off on a napkin.

Dad smirked and warned, "If you keep spoiling them with these kinds of treats, they might start getting a little bit of chub." He pinched Nengan's belly a bit to emphasize the point, making the lizard whine in embarrassment.

"Don't worry, Dad," I replied, "I might sure that they get plenty of exercise during their training."

Masu smirked deviously, "Yeah, he's helped us build up quite the stamina." He put a slight stress on the word stamina, just enough to notice. My blush returned; this time I hid it by wiping my face with a napkin, despite the fact that it was perfectly clean.

I was quick on my feet and added, "Trekking through the forest certainly helps with that." It wasn't a lie, the treks certainly did help them build up their stamina since I kept them out most of the time, but it wasn't what Masu was referring to. I didn't know why I kept avoiding the topic that I had planned to talk to them about. I guess I was just really nervous about coming out to them despite the fact that they had the same love of pokemon.

"So have you met anyone interesting on your travels?" Mom asked curiously.

"Just one," I replied. "His name's Ricky. We met while I was heading to Celadon City. He wanted to say hello to Nengan because of how cute he is." Nengan looked up at the sound of his name, his cheeks nearly bursting with pizza. I started petting him while I continued. "After a short talk we decided to do a no-stakes match to test our pokemon. He won, but the match taught me quite a few things."

Dad smiled. "Failure is never a failure so long as you have learned what not to do," he said. It sounded like a quote, but I had no idea who said it, so I simply nodded.

"It was late by that time so we shared a campsite for the night. We got to talking and apparently he's actually great with machines. He wants to become an engineer after his travels."

Dad smirks knowingly, "Does he have anywhere particular in mind?" It was clear that he knew where this was going.

I decided to go for the flattery card. "He wants to work for only the best and brightest in Kanto." That got quite a laugh out of my parents.

"You sure know how to give a reference," Mom chuckled.

"I just thought that I'd mention it now," I replied. "I don't know when he'll be finished travelling. I just thought that I'd bring it up since I'm here."

The conversation turned into talking about different battles I've had, both with other trainers and the two gym leaders. I had an inkling that part of the reason that they wanted to hear about them was to find out if the pokeballs were having the effect that they had intended. I really wished that I knew what it was that they were looking for, but I understood that they couldn't tell me. By the time I finished updating them about the journey and they finished talking about how work has been going, we had all finished eating. I figured that it was now or never, but I just couldn't have my pokemon there when I told them. I felt like it would be too embarrassing. I also realized that simply putting them in their balls would be rude to them.

I looked to my pokemon and said, "Hey, how about you guys go down to floor twenty-one and tell some of yours stories to the pokemon down there. I feel like they must be a bit bored." Floor twenty-one was where they were testing the translators. Because of this, they have plenty of pokemon down there to test it out on a variety of them. "I bet they'd love to hear some of your stories about how you fought to keep your section of the lake, Masu."

They knew exactly what I meant, but Masu, being the annoyance that he was, decided to prolong it. "You sure, Ronan?" he asked with a smirk. "We don't mind staying up here and hanging out."

To my great relief, Yari and Nengan helped me out. They each grabbed one of his arms, and Nengan said casually, "You heard him, Masu."

"And be sure to grab one of those new prototype translators for me," I added as they headed out. Nengan gave me a thumbs-up in acknowledgement.

My parents looked slightly confused. "Why did you send them away?" Mom asked.

"Well," I started, but I never finished. 'How the hell am I supposed to bring this up...?' I thought.

"Are you okay?" Dad asked slightly concerned. I wasn't surprised he was concerned; I was acting completely out of character.

I took a deep breath and let it out before I continued. "You know that Ricky guy I was telling you about?" I began searching through my bag.

Mom asked, "What about him?"

I pulled out the slip of paper and replied, "He gave me this." I set the paper on the table between us so they could read it. Blushes of crimson ran through their cheeks as they read it and my dad bit his lip.

My dad was the first to speak, "Well, I suppose the secret's out now, isn't it? I take it you checked it out."

I nodded, my blush just as bright as theirs. "Yeah. It was... something." A silence followed. I don't know how long it lasted, but it was certainly one of the most awkward silences I experienced.

Mom cleared her throat to break the silence. "And they told you that we were benefactors." It was a statement, rather than a question. She most likely assumed that because I there was no way I would be talking to them about it otherwise.

"Yeah," I answered. "I probably wouldn't've found out if it weren't for the fact that they had the translator tech." Another awkward silence followed. 'Damn, why does this have to be so awkward?" I thought to myself.

"Alright," my dad said firmly, "let's get this over with." I was a bit confused at what he meant. "Yes, your mother and I donate money to the Basement. Yes, we go there for more than business purposes. Yes, we are pokephiliacs. But the fact that you found out in the way that you did means that you are too, and there's nothing wrong with that." My cheeks blushed crimson and burned like fire through that, but I suppose it was better to get it all done with at once than one agonizing question at a time. "Anything else you'd like to know?"

I was having trouble wrapping my head around all of it. I mean, I knew all of this, but hearing it from my parents themselves... well, it was something completely different.

I don't know how long the initial shock lasted, but it felt like it was at least half-an-hour. I shook my head and muttered, "Sorry... I just..."

It was my mom who replied, "It's fine. Take as much time as you need."

It took me a while to get used to the situation, but eventually did. After the initial awkwardness faded, we began to open up a lot more to each other. We talked about how we first found out that we were attracted to pokemon. I told them about my first time with Nengan. They had apparently found out when they were still in school. It had started as a dare between them and Uncle Tido. Then they confirmed my unanswered question about him and Draco; they were actually a couple. It certainly explained why I never heard anything about his love-life. We must've talked about the subject for at least an hour. We only realized how long it had been because Masu barged in.

Masu was the first to come in. He pushed open the door and shouted with a huge smirk on his face, "Hey, Ronan, you done telling them how much you like getting fucked by me yet?" I glared daggers at him. It was as if he were trying to embarrass me as much as he could.

"Quite the mouth on him," Dad observed. "Perhaps I should get him a muzzle until he learns some respect." I smirked as I saw Masu flinch at the thought.

Mom was quick to join in, "I think a collar and leash might do him well too. He certainly could use some obedience training."

The look on Masu's face was priceless! He had a look that seemed to be a mixture of fear and shock. "You wouldn't dare!" he exclaimed defiantly.

They both just grinned and Dad replied, "You wanna bet?" Masu shrank back just a bit at the threat.

Yari and Nengan ran through the door. Nengan was sopping wet and dripping onto the floor as he spoke, "Sorry, Ronan. I tried to stop him, but I had to thaw out Yari." Masu snickered as he heard this.

In a chastising tone, I yelled, "MASU! This is not funny!"

That just made him laugh even more. "You wouldn't be saying that if you saw how I froze him."

"You think it's funny to freeze your friends?" I asked rhetorically. "Well, if you can't figure out who you can use your moves on, then you can't use them at all."

That got him to stop laughing. "Wait, what do you mean," he asked confused.

"No more battling until I say so." I smirked as I saw his reaction; he was not happy.

He balled up his fist angrily. "You can't do that!" he yelled.

"You wanna bet?" I challenged. "You know that they have lockable collars to prevent disobedient pokemon from using their attacks, right?" He gave a look of terror, making me smirk in satisfaction. "My dad designed it for household pokemon who start acting out. But I'm sure it would work just as well for a disobedient pokemon like you. Now, do I need to get you one of those, or can you behave yourself?" Masu nodded silently. "Good. Now apologize."

Masu turned to the others with his head hung in shame. "Sorry Nengan. Sorry Yari." They both expressed their acceptance.

Dad redirected the conversation. "Now that we got that out of the way, we've got something we'd like to show you."
