#92 of Counter Earth Chronicles

Last Chapter-

Alex, Corbin, Lord Tiger and Kendall fled Capital Stadium heading west into the wilderness. They were pursued by ONE or supporters of ONE (or was it both?) who wanted to DRIVE home their beliefs- causing the four to crash their vehicle on a distant mountain forest (surrounded by even more mountains). When all looked bleak, they were rescued by residents of a separatist colony that hated the empire and were distrustful of outsiders to the point of being xenophobic....

Counter Earth Chronicles

Chapter 91: The Others (You Needed Me Part Seven)

Day 307 (continued)

"How could that even be possible?" I asked Basil. "They fell off of Kendall's hover vehicle before we crashed."

"Apparently some must have survived." Corbin said. "But how?"

"They must have had the trees below break their fall." Lord Tiger concluded. "Basil will you please show us?" The commander asked the dark brown bear.

"Fine, but it is amazing how all you showed up on our doorstep at the same time." The barbarian bear grumbled.

"Hostile much?" The little mongoose boy asked.

"Basil despite what you are thinking, we are appreciative of the kindness you have shown us." I said to the suspicious bear.

"And we can assure you that we are not part of pre-raiding party." Lord Tiger added.

"Humpf!" He shot back.

Gia and Shira helped Lord Tiger walk to an elevated mound just behind the village. Corbin, Basil, Kip and I followed as well. Atop the elevated mound was a binocular type of device attached to a stand.

"What is this?" I asked our hosts.

"This, is how we see what is going on around us." Gia said.

Basil stood on the platform and moved the binoculars around like it was some type of gun turret finally locking in on the position where he and Kip had hunted in the forest below the village. "Look at this."

Shira stepped in behind the dark brown bear to look. "Oh my."

Then Gia, Lord Tiger, Corbin, Kip and then myself. I saw a rottweiler, sergal, hippo, cougar and sun bear wearing sports memorabilia some from the Warriors, some from the Rage, wandering around aimlessly. Five of the seven that had jumped onto Kendall's truck. They had indeed survived the fall, bruised, scratched and bloodied but alive.

"Ok you three, I want the entire story- now, how did you wind up out here?" Basil asked I continued to watch our pursuers.

"We were watching a arena football game at Capital Stadium in World Five." The little mongoose boy started.

"Slow down Corbin, you are probably going too fast for him." I said.

"We know what arena football is." Gia said staring at me. "Continue mongoose."

"Well Lord Tiger had great seats in the skybox so Alex and I accepted his invitation to watch a rematch game between the World One Warriors and the Extreme Rage- World Five's team." The little mongoose said starting his story.

"Our game was crashed by a group of separatist rebels who wanted an audience with the commander." I said jumping into the story.

"Kendall and two subordinates of his." Gia said. "He told me about that."

"An audience about what?" Shira asked.

"Talking to the High Evolutionary about allowing his group and several others to leave the empire for parts unknown to form their own civilization free of beastials." Lord Tiger said jumping into the retelling.

"You mean that there are humans who disagree with the way they have been treated by the empire? You don't say." The barbarian bear concluded.

"Yes. Some express their displeasure peacefully, others not so peacefully and yet others want to separate from the empire completely." I responded.

"There is no way the dictator was going to allow that in the slightest. That was what I started to say to the rebel group." The commander added.

"But we were interrupted by the caterers who arrived with our lunch." Corbin continued. "As they set up, we noticed that something about them seemed quite off."

"They were chanting." The commander said. "Over and over again about the arrival of ONE. Someone or something that was going to solve the world's problems."

"What happened next?" Gia asked.

"They touched two of the rebels that were with Kendall and then those two started chanting and acting weird as well. Like it was some sort of disease that was spread through contact their contact."

"Have any of you seen anything like that before?" Shira asked.

The tiger warrior and the mongoose boy shook their heads no.

"Actually, I have. It was earlier this year at a concert I attended in World Two the technical staff started chanting and behaving in the same way. They were hospitalized after they tried to kill the main act and her band. But they never touched any beast or spread what they had- which makes what happened all that more weird." I told our hosts.

"So you, Corbin, the commander and that rebel fled." Kip said stepping in.

"Yes. I locked the caterers and two of the rebels into the skyroom as we sought help." The tiger warrior said. "We discovered to our surprise that Kendall's subordinates weren't the only ones that had been 'touched'. The caterers had also converted two junior knights and some spectators at the event as well."

"It was the eeriest thing they kept saying join us, join us! As we fled." Corbin said as Kip looked at him.

"Kendall ended up rescuing us and we escaped in his truck, but not before taking on additional passengers." I said to our hosts.

"How many?" Basil asked.

"There were seven that climbed onto the truck." I said thinking.

"Kip and I only saw five." The barbarian exclaimed.

"Kendall desperately tried to throw them off of his vehicle as he flew west over the forest and mountains. His efforts only lead to the vehicle crashing near where you found us." The tiger warrior said concluding the story.

"There is a more disturbing problem though- how many of the other spectators at the arena have been 'converted'? We could be talking about some sort of epidemic." Lord Tiger said.

"We need to talk about this new threat and how to deal with it." Shira said.

"Agreed." Gia and Basil said in unison.

The seven of us quickly returned to the village. Upon our arrival Basil, Shira and Gia had the entire village assemble at a well near its center. This was the first time that Lord Tiger, Corbin, myself and Kendall who was helped to the meeting place, saw how many individuals made up the colony. I counted just short of fifty villagers- beastials, humans, children and cubs. A very integrated colony.

"Greetings family." Gia said starting the meeting. "We are holding this assembly to discuss a threat that has entered our territory."

"Is it the outsiders from the empire leader?" A young boy about Corbin's age asked.

"No Trevor." Shira responded. "The outsiders were victims of a hover vehicle crash and in need of our assistance."

"But aren't they from the empire?" An elderly fox sitting next to the boy asked.

"They are, but we have been careful to hide where our settlement is located and they have had limited access to the surrounding area. So if they did return to the empire, they would have a hard time finding our colony." The saber toothed tiger said.

"No family the outsiders were fleeing another group from World Five. This group appears to be ill, they wander around chanting incoherently about something coming to end the world's problems." Gia continued.

"Who is this other group?" A brown oryx in the audience asked.

"They are comprised of seven- humans and beastials that were at a sporting event in World Five far east of here." Shira responded.

"They have been seen wandering the forest at the base of the mountain." Basil said.

"So what is so special about a group of humans and beastials wandering and talking incoherently in the forest?" A black haired man asked the three leaders of the colony.

"We are not entirely sure." Lord Tiger said addressing all that had assembled. "One thing is for sure. If any of them touch you, you will become like them. I saw it happen earlier today. It is like some type of disease."

"One that we don't know how to stop or cure." I said adding my voice to the conversation.

"The problem is what happens when they find the village?" Basil asked.

"I don't want to be chanting about how great ONE is for the rest of eternity." Corbin said.

"So how do we stop them?" Shira asked all who were present.

"It is only a matter of time before they make their way up the mountain and find us." Kip added.

Corbin and I scanned the crowd as younglings, adults and the elderly both human and beastial gave deep thought about the threat facing the village.

"Does anyone have an idea?" Gia asked. "Don't be afraid to speak up!"

I was fascinated by this direct form of governing. The leaders of the village- Gia, Shira and Basil were asking those they represented for help facing the crisis. Unlike the dictator who would have just made a decision and everyone would have had to live with it whether they agreed or disagreed.

"Why is this happening to us!" A giraffe with a very short neck called out from the crowd. "We have lived in these mountains away from the empire and dictator for many years and now our way of life is threatened because of these outsiders!"

(There was that xenophobia again.)

"No you are mistaken, our way of life is threatened because of someone or something chasing the outsiders a beaver in the audience said. "The outsiders were in need of help. Since when do we turn away those in need?"

"Even if it places us at risk?!" Another woman in the crowd asked.

Those in attendance thought about the implications of what was said. There was a extremely long pause as the members of the colony thought about the coming threat.

"Leaders I think there may be a way." A boy who appeared to be slightly older than Corbin said.

"What is it Calvin?" Basil asked.

"The Eternal Caverns."

"You mean the ones that you are forbidden from playing in?" Shira asked.

"They will serve our needs." Calvin said.

"What are these caverns you speak of?" Lord Tiger said asking Shira, Gia and Basil.

"They are a group of caves that extend deep underground." Shira responded.

"They were partially explored by the founders of our village and then later declared off limits because they are very vast and it is very easy to become lost or trapped inside." Basil volunteered.

"If you become lost in them you could easily wander through them the rest of your days looking for a way out." Gia said.

"That is vast." Corbin said.

"So what exactly is the plan?" I asked the crowd.

"Simple." A brown wolf in the audience said. "Someone will lead these 'others' into the cavern where they will be trapped and wander through there for eternity."

"Wait those of who you speak are citizens of the empire!" Kendall said adding his voice to the conversation.

"You mean that some of them are fellow humans." Corbin said looking squarely at the separatist rebel.

"And others are law abiding citizens who were at an outing for a good time who didn't ask for what happened to them to happen to them." Lord Tiger said. "Do you have an alternative? Should we let them continue to hunt us and endanger this village and its inhabitants in the process?"

Kendall was silent.

"So who is going to lead the 'others' into the caverns?" I asked all in attendance.

The entire village went silent as the colonists and their leaders thought about it, then one by one every human and every beastial started starring at yours truly!

"Me?! Why Me?"

"Think of it as a way you outsiders can earn our trust!" Shira said as she put her arm around me.

(That saber toothed tigress was quite hot, I know why the commander- well, err, um, you know, unleashed the UNF, UNF, UNF monster.)

"Besides, you four brought this to threat to our doorstep now you are going to take care of it." A skunk in the crowd smiled.

(UGH!)

"Only me?! What about Lord Tiger?!" I shrieked.

"He is injured." Shira said.

"What about Corbin?"

"He is a too young, besides you consider him your little brother do you not?" Gia said chiding me. "Do you want him to be in danger?"

(She was right about that.)

"What about Kendall?"

"Very injured." Gia, Basil and Shira said in unison.

(Oh crap.)

So to protect Lord Tiger, my 'little brother' and the village I had no choice but to agree to accept this mission. Basil escorted yours truly out of the village, into the wilderness and down their mountain.

"I probably should have blindfolded you. That way you can't memorize anything you see and lead the empire back to our colony." The barbarian bear said to me.

"Basil. Enough!" I shouted at the very tall dark brown bear with the big spiked club. "It is true I am citizen of the empire, but I am not here to spy on you or to destroy village."

"So you say." He said directing me where to walk.

"You know you are right! I am part of an advanced raiding party- we are coming after you to destroy your huts, wreck your village, eliminate your way of life and drag you kicking and screaming back to the empire, whether you like it or not!!! Oh and we want that big club of yours too!!!"

"So now the truth comes out!" The six foot bear said mocking me.

"ARGH!!!" I screamed at him. "Basil why do have so much hatred for the empire?" I asked him regaining my composure.

"Because the empire tried to destroy me." The barbarian bear grumbled.

"You mean you are an imperfect?!" I said turning around to look at him. "How can that be?" I said as I inspected his physique- his broad shoulders, arms and biceps and his muscular back. Yeah he was chunky around the torso but given his height it wasn't too noticeable.

"Are you familiar with the prehistoric cave bear?" Basil asked me.

"You mean an ancient species of bear that lived on this world long ago?"

"Yes." He said to me as we continued our trip down the mountain.

"I was 'constructed' in a lab from some ancient remains found near World Five."

"You were cloned from some samples? You seem fine to me." I said folding my arms behind my head.

"No according to the master."

"But why?" I asked the barbarian bear.

"Have you ever seen one of my kind or their remains?"

"Uh, not until today."

"My species average height is well over ten feet tall." Basil admitted reluctantly.

"The master considered you defective because you were short?!"

(Man, that is cold.)

"Too small were his exact words. I was sent to the reclamation center shortly after my creation to be recycled. I escaped, wandered off into the wilderness and eventually found my way here."

"Where you became a leader of the colony and loving mate and father. It would seem that you have a good life here. I could see why you want to protect it." I said to him.

"I befriended Rose and Kip upon my arrival. She had lost her mate- Kip's father after a hover vehicle accident that was mysteriously covered up." The dark brown bear said. "The same empire that oppresses you and your kind, but somehow you seem to be ok with that."

"Uh yeah." I stammered.

"Why?!"

"Well, since we are being so candid, I am not from this world. I came from another populated by humans who destroyed each other and the planet from warfare. So I am not a big fan of my own species and seeing how the dictator has kept the human populace here from destroying themselves and this planet, I naturally sided with him."

"So you are a collaborator." The barbarian said tapping his club on his paw.

"Yes. But Basil, I am also not your enemy."

"We will see." The dark brown bear grumbled. "We are here. "This is the entrance to the caverns." The bear with the grey muzzle said pointing. "Lead them into there."

"And when I do?" I asked as I watched him crack two rocks together and a tree branch creating a torch.

"There is a small pocket you can hide in on the right, let them walk by and then immediately double back to the entrance. I will close it. The others will be trapped in the underground caverns where they will wander around for eternity. It is as simple as that." He said placing the torch on a rock formation within the cave.

"I see." I responded.

"Are you scared?" The he beast asked me.

"Very." I responded. "You could also trap me in there as well and have one less outsider for your village to contend with." I said worriedly.

"Now who is being paranoid? Little human if I really wanted to eliminate you I would not need to resort to treachery." He said as he ran his paw tips down my neck and spine.

"Ok, so now I am being more suspicious than you." I said as the bear smirked at me.

"Push that aside we have work to do."

And so we arrived at the forest at the base of the mountain and there they were.

"You know what to do?" The imperfect bear beastial asked me.

"Yeah be brave and try not to become one of them." I said nervously.

"I will wait for you at the cavern's entrance." Basil said departing.

Quietly I took in the surroundings. There were two in my immediate line of sight which meant that there were three that I did not see- out there some where. All I had to do was get their attention.

(Let's see hmm...)

I decided to channel Toby from the Into Darkness adventure porn series.

"Bait, bait, bait, bait! I am nothing but bait! A lonely, lost and confused human looking for some direction in my life. Some-ONE to quell the chaos, confusion and disorganization in my existence and give me order, structure and to give my life meaning and purpose! Isn't there some-ONE out there who can do this?"

"There is!" Came a spooky voice from my left.

"ONE who can ease all of the pain!" Came a creepy voice to my right.

"ONE who can calm the chaos within." Said another in front of me.

!!!

"ONE who can erase the confusion."

"ONE who can prioritize your existence."

"ONE who will give you meaning and purpose."

To the occasional listener what the 'others' was selling sounded good. Especially to those who had no direction in their lives and were just drifting. I wondered if the words coming out of the mouths of the these five were their own or were they under something else's influence?

(Would they ever revert back to normal?!)

I struggled to remain focused. That was when I realized that 'others' had surrounded me.

"Join us!"

"Join us!"

"Join us!"

"Ah sure!" I said cheerfully. "But there is something I have to do first. You can come with me if you like. This way."

I started running up the mountain toward the prearranged location Basil and I had discussed. The horde following me.

As I reached the entrance to the caverns I paused just long enough for them to see me. The rottweiler, sergal, cougar, sun bear and even the fat hippo had followed me up the mountain. I could also see the cuts, bruises they had sustained when they fell from the sky. Noticeably absent were the two humans.

(Did they perish in the fall?)

"Right this way the ONE you seek is right in here!" I said running inside.

(Now was I supposed to make a immediate right now or a later?)

I thought as I ran inside. The light from the torch quickly dissipating with every step I took.

The five beastials walked in right after me.

"This way!" I yelled.

(I think.)

!!!

"Whoa!"

I realized that I should have turned immediately right when I entered the cave, I ended up walking off a ledge and sliding down to a smaller one just below and a deep chasm just below that. So deep I couldn't see the bottom.

(Damn! What do I do?!)

"Help! Basil!"

That was the stupidest thing I could of said or done.

"Soon we will all be helped." I heard a voice say.

"There will be no more misleading pathways."

"There will be only the correct pathway."

I looked up to see three shadows looking down at me from the immediate ledge above.

"There is nothing to fear human."

"Only the eternal bliss of ONE." One of the five, I think it was the sergal said reaching for me.

"Are you saying this, or is ONE making you saying this or is it a combination of the two?!" I asked the horde.

"All is ONE and ONE is all." The horde chanted in unison.

"That was not an answer." I said as I dodged the paws that were trying to grab me. "BASIL HELP!" I screamed as a tall sixth shadow appeared on the ledge.

"I have seen the light." I heard a familiar voice say.

"BASIL! NO!"

"ONE is coming! ONE is coming!" The barbarian bear chanted. "The ONE who will carve order out of chaos, make that which is wrong- right, unite that which is not united, create unity where there is none, establish equality from where there is inequality, construct peace from where there is confusion, constitute contentment from where there is none. ONE is coming! ONE is coming!"

Oh no. They had gotten Basil. I was to be next; this was the end. At this point I was faced with two options:

Let the 'others' rescue me and become ONE's bitch or fall down the chasm to my end. Great choice huh?

As I saw my life flash in front of my eyes, I pondered my situation- the Great Beyond or becoming a ONE's cheerleader for all eternity. Um, I would rather jump.

I was preparing to leap from the ledge into the bottomless chasm when the rottweiler, sergal,, hippo, cougar and sun bear stared at the barbarian bear quite oddly.

"Isn't that what you 'others' are always saying?!"

They continued to stare at the miniature cave bear.

"What? Something I said? Didn't I say it right?"

"You will join us."

"Yes join us."

The horde said as they turned their attention away from me and toward Basil.

The others only had to wait a moment for the barbarian bear's answer.

*WHOOSH!!!* *SHWAKK!!!*

I saw two shadows go flying over the ledge and into the chasm below.

(I think that was the rottweiler and sergal.)

*SWOOOSH!!!!* *CRACK!!!*

(And I think that was the cougar and hippo)

*THUNK!!!* *THUNK!!!* *THUNK!!!* *BLAM!!!*

(Nope, that was the cougar and the sun bear before and that just now was the hippo.)

"Alex! I said the first right!" I heard a voice say as a dark paw reached for me.

"Basil, I thought... I thought..."

"They got me? I may be small for my size, but I carry a big club."

I hugged that barbarian bear right there in the cave. "Thank you my friend. You saved me from a fate worse then death."

The bear broke the hug and pulled me back to the cave's entrance.

"Assist me." He said.

I helped the miniature cave bear roll a large boulder that was next to the cavern entrance. We easily blocked the opening sealing the five in the Eternal Caverns.

"It is done." He said.

"This is the only entrance?" I asked him.

"That we know about." He responded.

"It is sad that they will never be heard from again." I said to the he beast.

"It was necessary to protect the village." The barbarian bear said. "We should get back, it is getting dark."

"Speaking of getting back, my companions and I also need to get back. Our loved ones must be worried by now."

"We will take you back to your empire tomorrow. This evening you will be joining us." The dark brown bear said to me.

"As what?! Outsiders, representatives from a repressive civilization?"

"As our guests."

"So your xenophobia has finally abated?"

"For now outsider." He said to me.

"I have a name you can call me that is better than outsider."

"What is that?" He said turning to me.

"How about friend?"

"We just had a moment didn't we?"

"Yes we did." I responded as I accompanied the barbarian up the mountain.

When we arrived at the village everyone had sat down for dinner. Lord Tiger was eating with Shira and Gia. Kendall was eating and talking with some of the human villagers and Corbin was eating with Kip, Trevor and Calvin.

"How did it go big brother?" The mongoose boy asked.

"Mission accomplished sort of." I said as Basil walked up behind me. "The two humans that were with the rottweiler, sergal, hippo, cougar and sun bear- we didn't see them."

"Nor did Kip and I. It could be possible they died on impact with the ground." Basil said. "We will search for their remains in the morning."

"Making friends Corbin?" I asked my 'little brother".

"Umm hmm." He nodded. "Everyone is less suspicious of us since you helped take care of the 'others."

"Good make friends." I said to the little mongoose.

"If you choose to stay you will like it here." Calvin said.

"We help the adults plant and harvest." Kip added.

"Yeah, we can go hiking, there is also fishing and swimming." Trevor said.

"But only when you are finished with your schooling." Rose said overhearing the conversation.

"So you like living out here away from it all?" I asked the younglings.

They all nodded.

(Perhaps there is an advantage living away from technology off of the land.)

"Come let's get something to eat." Basil said placing his paw on my shoulder.

The he beast brought me to the center of the village where everyone was eating. Dinner that evening was fish, potatoes, greens and rice. We picked up a plate and sat down next to Kendall and Lord Tiger.

"So the mongoose boy calls you big brother? How did that come to about?" Basil asked me as we started to eat.

"Corbin has been staying with me for the last few weeks while waiting to be adopted." I responded.

"What happened to the boy's family?"

"They were killed by a dissident group while visiting a museum in World Four." I responded."

"He has no living relatives left?" Basil asked me.

"It was a big family outing." I said staring off into the distance.

"I see." The barbarian bear said.

"So he is waiting to find a new loving family?"

I nodded.

"I have noticed that the empire seems to suffer from a lot of rebels groups- dissidents, separatists, rebellions."

"It does." I said humbly.

"Most likely due to the way it treats its human citizens." The bear concluded. "It must be why there isn't a lot a commingling between humans and beastials unlike here."

"There isn't" I responded looking around. I watched humans and beastials casually talking with each other as they ate. Just like Basil and I were doing.

"But then there is you." The miniature cave bear asserted.

"That is correct. Some of my closet friends are beastials. In fact I live with a beastial."

"Do you now?" The he beast said giving me his undivided attention.

"A she bear who adopted me eleven months ago."

"So that explains why you seem so comfortable around us here. Especially me." The bear said.

"I have an affinity for bears you could say. Speaking of which mine must be very worried. We should have returned from World Five by now."

"So asking you, Corbin, Kendall and the commander to stay with us is rather out of the question?"

"You are very, very kind Basil. Don't get me wrong. What you have here is something very very special- incredibly special but I can't stay." I said as I finished eating. "We need to find a way to get word back to the empire about what happened at the stadium today."

"Sorry but, our existence precludes technology. Including communication devices of any sort. It would lead the empire right back to us." Gia said walking up to me.

"That doesn't sound like a bad thing." Kendall said overhearing us. "This is kind of what I was looking for something AWAY from the high mucky muck and all his restrictions."

Lord Tiger, Gia, Shira, Basil and myself looked at the separatist rebel.

"Here, I am not looked down upon as inferior or something less than an insect." Kendall said.

"So what are you trying to say?" I asked the rebel.

"I would like to stay."

"Oh you will be staying; you can't leave in your condition." Gia said.

"Very well it is getting late. We should call it a night." Shira said overhearing the conversation."You two think about it and we will talk again in the morning." Shira said as she helped the commander back into her hut.

"Corbin! It is time to sleep." The female saber toothed tiger said to him.

"Kay!" The little mongoose said.

I watched as Gia helped Kendal back into her hut.

"Ah, where I am I staying?" I asked as the villagers started heading to their own domiciles to retire.

"Isn't it obvious?" The barbarian bear said. "You are staying with Rose, Kip and myself."

"Oh." I said.

"I thought you said that you had an affinity for bears?" The bear beastial teased.

Basil escorted me back to his hut where I had awoken earlier. As I entered I found two set of mats on the floor.

"You and Kip will share that one." Basil said to me.

"I see." I said lying down.

"Kip time for bed." The dark brown bear called out to his adopted son.

Despite being on the ground, I remember that the mat was quite comfortable. Sharing it with Basil's cub was an interesting experience as well. Kip cuddled me while we slept.

Sometime during the night the little bear poked me.

"Psst! Alex are you awake?" He whispered.

"I am now." I said groggily.

"Shh! Momma and Poppa are at it again." Kip said to me.

"At what again?"

"Momma has been pester Poppa to grow our family; she doesn't want me to be an only cub."

"Really?"

"He placates her even though they both know they can't conceive." The little cub said gesturing to the commotion on the other mat.

"Basil?" A female black bear said as she entered the hut.

"Rose? Where have you been?" The barbarian asked his mate.

It was the female who had examined me earlier making sure I hadn't been injured. She then bathed me while I was unconscious.

"I went for a walk."

"At this time of night?"

"Yes, I was thinking."

"What about?" The dark brown bear said to his mate.

"You know." She said.

"Oh that again." The barbarian groaned. "Sweetie, it is just not possible- we are different species."

"I was hoping beyond hope that a miracle would happen." Rose responded.

"Sweetie remember that we do have Kip and he can be quite a handful." Basil countered.

"But he shouldn't be an only cub." The she bear said sitting down next to her mate.

"If it only it were biologically possible." The dark brown bear said.

"Regardless it is fun trying and hoping. Besides Basil I am in season." The she bear said kissing him.

"Very well, but only because I love you." The he bear said.

I watched as Rose embraced her mate gently removing his 'shorts'. He reciprocated removing hers and her top as well. Both of them throwing their clothing at the far wall of their hut.

Rose lowered herself on her mate's groin just right allowing him to fill out inside her. She then leaned forward to kiss Basil who nuzzled her on the snout.

Gently the he bear moved his paws to massage his lover's breasts as Rose placed her paws on her mate's shoulders.

After this brief moment of foreplay the she bear started raising and lowering herself on the he beast's shaft.

Kip and I watched the two ursines mate vigorously.

"Wow, they rarely do that!" The little cub whispered to me.

"Why is that?" I asked him.

"They both are usually too busy. Momma tends to the gardens and Poppa is busy running the village with Shira and Gia." Kip said.

We heard the two mating bears grunt, groan and moan as they moved toward the conclusion of their intimacy. It was brilliant display of affection from the couple.

"Rose, I am close." Basil moaned to his mate.

"Basil if it does happen I want a girl this time. No, two girls."

*GRUNT* "No promises, but I will see what *grunt* I can do."

"GRRROOOAR!!!!" Rose shouted.

The she beast's orgasm was enough to push her mate over the edge too. I then heard Basil vocalize what he was feeling at that moment too. I think the entire village heard it.

"RAAAAAAAWR!!!!"

"Whoops!" The two moaned in unison. As they awoke half of the village.

Day 308

When dawn came Basil and Rose gently woke Kip and myself."

"Good morning you two." The female she beast said to me.

"How did you sleep?" Basil asked us.

"Well enough but there was that incident during the night." Kip said to his adopted father.

"How much of that did you hear?" Rose asked.

"Hear?" I said. "We watched and heard all of it." I said as the couple blushed. "That was one of the most beautiful displays of affection I have ever seen. You two must love each other very much."

"So momma when are my sisters arriving?" The little cub asked.

"Um, we will have to wait and see if poppa and I were successful."

"What if you weren't?" Kip asked his mother.

"Then we will have to try again." Rose said as she grinned at her mate.

I decided to walk outside the hut to join Corbin, Lord Tiger and Kendall for breakfast.

"Look at the view!" The little mongoose said as he stared at the vista.

"The fog covered the mountains just right this morning." Kip said as he sat down to breakfast.

Gia, Shira, Basil, Lord Tiger and Rose soon joined us.

"You really have achieved a lot here." The tiger warrior said to our hosts.

"You keep saying that." Shira said. "In fact all night while I was saying other things."

(Do tell!)

"So you have had some time to sleep on it what do you say?" Basil said as he handed Corbin, Lord Tiger and myself a helping of rice.

"I would like to take you up on that offer but I still have to decline." The tiger warrior said. "I have responsibilities- a city, friends, loved ones and empire to protect."

"What about you Alex?" Shira asked me.

"What you have here is something very, very special. I wish I could stay I really do, but I have loved ones I must get back to." I said. "Corbin on the other paw- this would be perfect for him."

"Actually no big brother, Shira, Lord Tiger and I were talking about it last night. Well I was, they were cuddling. If I were to stay here, I could never come back and visit you or momma bear. I would also miss hub games, sports, museums and modern life for that matter." The little mongoose said.

"I understand." Shira said.

"I will." Kendall said.

"You have no choice, you aren't going anywhere until those broken bones heal." The human female said to the rebel.

"Besides aren't you wanted by the empire? I suppose you would be imprisoned upon your return anyway." Basil said.

"So exactly how are we supposed to get home?" Corbin asked. "We can't call for help.

Lord Tiger's communicator was left in the transport vehicle at the stadium."

"My communicator has been dead for weeks." I added.

"I suppose we could drop you off at a point close to your civilization and you can seek help from there." Gia said to Lord Tiger, Corbin and myself.

"So you are going to take us back?" Corbin asked.

"But won't we see exactly where the village is located in the process?" I asked our hosts.

"Don't worry about that Alex." Gia said to me. "We have taken precautions."

"You see we just drugged you." Shira said.

"You won't see or remember a thing until after you wake up. It is for our protection as it is yours." Basil added.

As the three leaders of the colony said that. I started feeling very dizzy. I turned toward the commander and Corbin and they were experiencing the same thing.

"We had a feeling that you would want to return back to the empire." Gia said.

"So we added something extra to your breakfast." The saber toothed tiger said.

"Basil that is not even the slightest bit funny!" I said to him.

"It wasn't meant to be." He said smiling. "No outsider can know of our village's location."

"It is better that way." Shira said.

"But we don't even get to say goodbye!" Corbin said trying hard not to succumb to the whatever they had given us.

"Goodbye Corbin, Alex, Lord Tiger." Gia said hugging each of us. She was followed by Shira who did the same to me, but kissed Corbin and the commander.

As I started to succumb, I was hugged by Basil. "Farewell Alex the outsider, my friend."

I wanted to thank our hosts for their friendship, hospitality and helping us during our time of need as well but Corbin, Lord Tiger and I were soon out cold- again. I understand why the three leaders of 'World Six' did what they did. But damn, that was sneaky.
