Chapter Eight: Ideals, Part Two

Dustin walked forward, cuffed with the bronze colored gauntlets that restricted his powers. The Outsider walked forward out of the prison hold of the courthouse and instead was dragged out into a white lined hallway, photos of previous judges hung. Still even after exiting the prison wing, the Outsider was scanned by metallic sensors avoiding his hands. In front of him, three militants dressed in complete camo from head to toe.

The Outsider wondered if this was his life now, maybe he would be guided from prison to prison, his crimes and sins all too much for one man to hold. Looking forward, he saw a mirror hung on a particularly nasty corner, probably for the benefit of an intern transporting paper from point a to point b. In his state all it did was remind the Outsider of his crimes, looking up into the mirror he saw his two companions in crime.

The lizard behind him, blind to a point, and a shark, one not of this world; joining him in the next adventure of his life. They walked forward with their crimes held on their wrist. And then as the Outsiders walked forward through the hallway and into the next room, they realized they would have to do that both figuratively and literally.

Seemingly set up as a public show for the press, a microchip embedder stood awkwardly in the middle of the courthouse, photographers and cameramen standing for the photo opportunity that would surely be found by the three members of the main New York Outsider group would be a picture beyond all bargains.

Dustin walked forward out of lawyer ring of the courthouse and into the marble lined lobby of the courthouse. As the shark walked forward, his steps echoing off the marble and creating surely a melodic tap that might be the soundtrack to his ironic capture, surely someone in the future would see the irony of his situation.

Seeing the microchip embedder, Dustin took a breath and slowly slid his hand into the machine. The large grey body of the machine that put the most mass on the table holding it up, containing the computing unit that encrypted the devices and made sure they were functioning. An orange push pad, told the prisoner where to lay his wrist down, of course facing up. And then seemingly descending from the top of the machine; a clamp that held the chip to trap him.

Dustin extending his hand onto the push pad, closed his eyes and unlike the slow savored approach he imagined, suddenly the machine shut and open quite like the blind of an eye. Dustin looked at his hand and saw it, barely a pinpoint hole in his wrist in between the bone and vessels. Dustin walked away from the machine, his comrades going to trap themselves as well.

Dustin watched as a police officer grabbed a secondary scanner, somewhat like the metallic scanner and waved it over the soft skin of the shark's wrist. It blinked and recognized the chip embedded in his fist. He was now truly a prisoner of the justice system, surely now Thad would be looking from some sort of room, smiling in joy at the public display he had made.

And then Dustin was turned, one guard from behind grabbed ahold of his wrist and pushed him forward. Nearly stumbling as he passed the crowd of reporters, Dustin looked at them and shook his head. Seemingly thousands of cameras blinked in that moment, the Outsider and his guard dazed by the supernova of lights.

Maybe in that moment, the Outsider could make his attempt to escape, quickly kick himself out of the grip and then make a run for the front of the building. That thought was shut down, Dustin told himself from his mental bubble, those were criminal thoughts, he needed to think thoughts of not-guilty. Then again, he was going to face a tribunal.

Taking a breath as the doors were opened, the Outsider was lead into the courthouse. Before him, the plastic seats of the viewing party were empty, this was a private affair, citizens and press were banned from the inside. And before him, the jury of thirteen sat. Sitting down in front of white rough tables that seemed to fit better in a birthday party, they looked straight at the Outsider as he entered, scanning him and trying to see if they could tell if he was guilty already.

The doors stood open as behind him the Outsiders were lead into the white courtroom. Dustin looked around, observing the courtroom and looking at the decorative white lining on the building. Two tiny windows on both sides of the court, let tiny amounts of light in and above them a chandler lit up the rest of the room in a homely yellow glow, yet to the Outsider this was as far from home as he could be.

Being led to a wooden table, with wooden seats, behind a wooden gate dividing the public and private, the Outsider sat down as he carefully grabbed the seat and sat down. Seemingly the judges were examining all his actions, their eyes carefully guided and viewing him.

The other Outsiders entered the room and Dustin nodded at them, they needed to be a united front. Pushing back on the judges and making sure the Outsiders were better for the city would be the key. This would be the defining moment of his Outsider career, Dustin smiled just a bit knowing that if he could defeat the judges and showed that he and the Outsiders were the best for New York then he would be reborn. In New York he could be a new man, everyone would know what he overcame, that he rewrote the game.

People would here his story, they might be inspired. This would be his moment, they would know he never backed down against the forces who tried to stop him, this was his shot. He would be coming up from the bottom; no one would destroy his reputation. There were million things he didn't do and this court wasn't going to stop him.

As the three Outsiders sat down in their seats, they were facing the thirteen judges that would be deciding their faith. On the other side, Thaddeus sat down at the table and looking over he smiled at the Outsider. Pausing for a second, the Outsider wondered if the general was here for safety or because he wanted to put his two cents into the court proceedings.

"Now then, the court shall enter the proceedings on the State of New York versus District 3 of the New York Outsiders." The center judge said; his name didn't matter; all the judges seemed to be the same. Dustin glanced at them, they all seemed to be same type, they wanted to put him away as quickly as possible, and Dustin was their antithesis. Looking forward Dustin smiled and looked over to Thaddeus, both leaders of the protectors of New York, they both nodded at least respect was sharked in the link between them.

Sitting still, Dustin looked around the courtroom, three Outsiders, thirteen unlucky judges, and five military men, seemed to be the combinations of twenty one that would change New York forever. Dustin just hoped that the city wouldn't combust as a result.

"Now then let's start off with an easy question, if you could describe to us an idea of what you believe your death to living ratio is?" The judge said as he read off a paper, seemingly this must have been some sort of common occasion If he was reading a paper, Dustin was disappointed he would hope his situation would be a bit more unique.

"Ok quick question, why aren't we being trialed in the normal way; you men must be a collection of get military dignitaries and surely you would know that the Outsiders are not a militant organization so why are we being trailed with a military tribunal?" Dustin said as he stood up, Colin hid his strange admiration and disappointment; he hoped the shark would wait a few minutes before deconstructing the whole trail.

"Before you answer judge, do know that we are all citizens of the United States and as such as stated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights, we should have a right for trail before a judge, with a lawyer or even trail before a jury?" Dustin asked, and Colin could only imagine how much Dustin was damming them by even just bring up the legality of the trail and the Constitution. Colin figured even mentioning the ship would bring up the flames in the judges heart.

"Well we have debated about this first Mr. Smith, and we do know that your un-constitutional methods and willingness to break the way should be dealt with in a way that doesn't agree with the Constitution." One judge on the end said ending the nervous side glances of the other judges. "And remember if you will in the charter of your organization that you are guided under the FBI, and trust me that charter will be brought up."

"Fine then let's start again, I'd imagine that on a really bad day we might have a death ratio of one-tenth and with the villains that we deal with on a daily basis I say that our record stands pretty tall." Dustin said as he leaned back into the seat and sat down. The court looked at each other and Thaddeus seemed to smile, already it seemed the Outsiders had crawled into the trap.

"Oh really Outsiders, do you really think that sort of false information. Counting only your district, you have a ratio of one-sixth, on a good day." One off the judges said as he read of his fact sheet. Dustin felt like this was unfair, the judges questioning them and presumably the militants against them all had information that the Outsiders didn't even know.

"Are you aware of that, that in a good day you only have one sixth chance to survive and that is only counting civilians, you numbers drop severely when you include allies." Thaddeus said as he glanced over and seemingly dropped that little fact to the Outsiders, he knew that the system was rigged against them and Dustin glanced back. "If I didn't know better I would say you'd want to kill me based on this information."

"Yes but still think of the damage that could have been done, a massive ratio of one could have been achieved if we weren't there." Elias said as he stood up and got the judge's attention. Their dark and glaring eyes moved over toward the Kagen shark and looked as if they were ready to knock him back into the wooden beam. "Twilight, werewolves, the Neuroseekers, the mutants; all of them threats that could of achieved massive amounts of collateral damage."

"You are aware of your use collateral, indicating that they would have been unintended kills. Are you insinuating that the attacks were against you and only you?" Another judge said, presumably taking Elias's words and twisting them around his neck ready to pull the noose and strangle the Kagen shark in his own sentence.

"Well I might not be a fancy uptown Kagen lawyer, or a lawyer at all but I can tell you that had we as Outsiders not been at these situations we would not have been able to contain them once they broke out." Twilight said quickly adopting the accent you would expect him to and then dropping it as he tried to turn the judges onto his side, meanwhile Thaddeus went down his list, as if it were some sort of roster of the sins they had.

"And on to that, let's talk about what has broken out around you, mutants, werewolves, zombie neuroseekers; all threats that still are alive today. You instantly fail to eliminate these enemies of the states and they still roam around to this very day." Thaddeus said smiling as once again the table of judges had turned glances, as if each one of them had shared a thought turning them against the Outsiders.

"Ok, maybe we failed with the mutants. But we were outnumbered and we had decided to allow them to remain trapped in the middle of the Earth. Now then secondly, the werewolves were all freed from Moonraker's control and we have shared with you the design for the transformation reverser, thirdly, we couldn't have dealt with the Zombie Neuroseekers they only came last night." Dustin said as he turned his head towards Thaddeus, symbolically dropping the microphone as it seemed. The judges grunted and groaned as they took in that evidence.

"Still the mutants work to break out today." Thaddeus said as he read from his paper, "And three good soldiers will never be buried in their proper place only an encased tomb. Another has disappeared and is filled with guilt over what happened."

"And the mutants won't break out, their leader declared it impossible; either way had we not been there, four soldiers would have received improper burials and then the mutants escaping would have invaded this city and taken over within hours; you should be bowing towards us and yet you trap us here." Dustin said as he took the conversation, he looked over to Colin who was sitting down quietly.

"Colin, Viewfinder he was teleported as well. He kept us together, he could see us beyond the wall and even at the bottom of the Earth he could see everything above him; he did everything he could to keep everyone alive and trust me all four of us did all we could to keep everyone alive, so if three dead soldiers are going to die, I might as well comfort them and try to do my best." Dustin said interrupting Thaddeus before he could say anything.

"Those were my men, you let them die." Thaddeus said as he stood up and faced Dustin. And then the air in the room halted, Dustin stood up and turned towards Thaddeus, the military general and the Outsider facing each other. Colin shifted as he felt the shark, grabbing onto Dustin.

"Don't do it show them that you are better than him, you know it in your heart but show that to them." Colin said as he pulled Dustin back down to his seat and like that the tension in the room was broken. Thaddeus adjusted his tie, smiling that he had stared down the Outsiders. Dustin sat down and looked away, he needed this win.

"Outsiders if you might calm down, do not disrupt the court again, and please General Thaddeus please do remember that you are security not the legal defense." The court said as it stared down the Outsiders, the chill returning to the room; Dustin was struck as he figured out who had the power in the room.

"Listen we did the best we could and managed to save a thousand lives for three lives, we regret it every day and we do the best we can." Dustin said as he stood in his seat and calm spoke to the judge calming down and attempting to show that he was at least in some sort of control.

"Fair then Outsiders, but let's move on then onto the next problem, the most obvious knowledge of breaking the charter, your identities." The judge said as Dustin took a breath, suddenly memories came back he forgot about all in the beginning he didn't even know who Ronan was.

And while memories of Ronan the Destroyer and Ronan the Outsider were still fresh in his mind, he then remembered Ronan the Bully. Dustin closed his eyes and suddenly it all came back to him. It seemed like so long from ago, memories tried to rearrange themselves just to make sense. Seemingly nothing made sense; Dustin couldn't remember a time when he didn't know everyone name.

"Oh well." Colin said as he suddenly realized that maybe they were doomed, it wouldn't be Ronan's attacks or Ronan's invasions that would kill them it would be his betrayal all the way long ago that would lead to their deaths. Colin put his head on the table as he tried to mentally deal with his future that seemed to be sinking into nothingness.

"Ok well about that, we were in the same school and both Ronan and I both figured out who Colin was within days of his introduction, both of his identities being blind lizards doesn't make it hard to put two and two together." Dustin spat out as he tried to explain the easy one, Ronan's identity wouldn't be as easy to account for. "Due to unseen circumstances, Ronan's identity was blown during the Werewolf invasion of Yankee Statium, which leads into underground base and back to Ronan's betrayal."

"We are aware of this situation; all we need is your explanation of the situation Outsider." Another judge on the court jargoned out; Dustin sighed and collected his thoughts for a second. He needed to throw as much blame onto the Neuroseekers and Ronan as possible, they might have been able to blame Ronan but then they would have to arrest him as well.

"Well we were chosen to guard a party at the Rockefeller Center. Neuroseekers had planned around us and a new unknown master of Neuroseekers arrived, at this point Ronan, who had chosen to remain as a werewolf, not that he could return, was stolen and based on our current understanding of what happened afterwards had his werewolf side amplified into his current state, his identity being know had no difference in this situation." Elias said from his seat, quite dignified and quite explanatory. While someone else might not appreciate the info-dump, the judges surely would enjoy the exposition.

"Well then, I think we have enough information to make a decision, would it be unanimous through the tribunal?" The judge said as he looked and the panel of thirteen all nodded. It seemed that thirteen was their unlucky number. Dustin held his breath as he waited for their decision.

"While you might have made an excellent case for yourselves, and we cannot jail you on any crimes that needed to be trailed by us. However, publicly your crimes still stand and due to your large waste of money and resources we will have to send you into a public court. However you might be able to make a better case with a lawyer and a jury." The judge said as he seemingly sealed their faith and the Outsiders were sent into public court.

"Now then we still need to agree on where to send you and which court will publicly handle you but it seems you will get your public trail." The judge said as he grabbed his gavel and then slammed it down on the wooden block lazily set up on the table. And with that noise the Outsider's faith were sealed. Thaddeus smiled as he stood up and the three soldiers with him walked forward, Thaddeus looked at the Outsiders, rolling around the metaphorical and literal money in his victory.

And with that the Outsiders stood silent as they stood up, they were now criminals ready to be sent against a public that didn't trust them and wanted them put away. Dustin could only hope that he got an impartial jury, but it seemed now the Outsiders were put away.

Standing up as Thaddeus lead them out of there seats, soldiers inserting themselves behind the Outsiders as they walked out of the courtroom. Thaddeus looked to be on cloud nine as he walked forward, proving seemingly that the Outsiders were the way of the past and now the military guard of New York would be the future. Dustin hated that, destroying the tradition that now seemingly fell at his own steps.

"Well then Outsider looks like you lose, now then New York is going to be safe and you know I am going to gloat in this forever and what better to start with then Newspapers. Maybe I'll get rid of them as well, their Outdated and seem to hurt the public as well." Thaddeus said as he walked forward and opened the door, stepping onto the marble floor and presenting himself to the press. Surely Thaddeus's victory would make for a good shot in the evening press.

"Now then I announce to you the rise of a new organization to protect New York, villains will respect us and we will capture them and kill them before they can escape and hurt others." Thaddeus said to the press, the reports quickly scribbling down his words in a way that Dustin swore could only be a mess to read back onto Newspaper.

"The second platoon of the New York Military will patrol this city with unprecedented extent and no citizen should worry about their safety because the Outsiders have fallen and a new phoenix has risen in their place." Thaddeus said smiling, as the Outsiders seemingly were put down and smacked around. Dustin was mentally steaming.

He looked forward, and around, he was restrained, he might make a run to the door and escape, the police officers were trapped behind the beacon machine and while he could be basically tracked, what better way to disqualify the new leader of the organization that would protect New York on his first day. Looking outside, the sun seemed to be setting on the city maybe about six o'clock based on the time. He could easily hide until darkness and then make his escape.

But then he paused, he needed to better for his team. He couldn't make them villains just because he escaped, he needed to prove his innocence and as much as he hated it he needed to go to the public court and show the city that he was willing to respect its systems. Dustin took a breath and the shark deciding in that second not to run as much as it called to him.

"And with that the city will be protected, need not worry about your safety because we have risen from the ashes of this city and you will be protected or I swear on my head." Thaddeus said to the group and Colin started to shake his head, probably now just disappointed in how long it was taking them just to get them into their cell.

And then walking out into the marble floor, Thaddeus finished his speech and seemingly put his arms out in victory, how modest of him. And then the general walked forward away from the sight of his victory and away to put the Outsiders away. Dustin walked as he was guided forward, and an officer scanned his wrist, luckily it beeped.

And then Thaddeus turned the corner into the hallway of lawyers and Dustin briefly got a look outside, people were protesting outside. Dustin could only hope that none of these people were picked for his jury. Disappearing behind the wall of the hallway, Dustin watched as another flash of a thousand suns was taken, this time of them being lead into their prison.

It seemed that they were going the way of the Betamax, Thaddeus's VHS simpler to use and far cheaper. And while Dustin and his team might have been technologically superior in every sense, it appeared that the public had made its choice and like all that came before him, Dustin would be going the way of the dinosaur. Dustin could almost laugh at the irony of that.

Dustin took a breath and disappeared behind the cell doors, as he sat down. The team sat in silence, as they looked to the windows. They turned from orange to black as seemingly the sun set on the Outsiders, Dustin wished the city had made a better choice.

"The winter sun sets and I awaken."

Both Colin and Dustin turned, obviously towards Elias. The shark started to spit as he shook, his back arching down and his mouth giving out puffs of pain. Seemingly the Kagen shark started to wobble and then he stood up, looking around as the sun set and only the bare light reflected off the moon hit Elias, the shark started to change.

Opening his mouth, his teeth seemingly shifted as two large fangs replaced his normally dull canines and a thirst for blood developed. Elias's wing span opened, Dustin barely reached out and grabbed at it, just before the tip would have touched the forcefield. Something told Dustin he wouldn't want to anger the Kagen Vampire any further.

His eyes turned red, as the pupils contracted and seemingly the vampiric one track mind activated. Elias put his nose up to the sky and started to sniff, all the while his skin turning pale and his blood vessels expanding out. Surely it would have been a sight to behold for the guards. Yet they still did nothing, only standing outside the cell with their guns held up and seeming indifference towards the actions in the cell unless it involved them or their leader.

"Blood." Elias said as he started to sniff around, looking around his eyes turned towards Dustin and as he approached the mortal, Dustin pushed him away. So instead he turned towards, Colin. The lizard backed up as he saw the aura of his lover so violently change before him.

"I need blood else I not be able to control this form!" Elias yelled his normal voice coming through. Still Colin backed up looking at the former husk of his boyfriend, in the past they had formulated something that had worked for the shark. Colin realized that the shark was being pushed to his extreme.

"Fine then, but sip on me." Colin sadly spat out as he sat on the bed and Elias sat down next to him like a child on Christmas day. Dustin watched as Elias put his mouth onto the scaly neck of Colin and then seemingly he slipped in. Watching closer, Dustin saw the fang pass between the scale and into the mushy skin below.

Elias sunk his teeth into Colin's neck and slowly started to sip on the life liquid, quite amazingly there was an instant effect. Elias's skin color and complexion returned instantly and he appeared back to normal. The shark pulled away and Dustin looked at Colin who seemed to be between misery and ecstasy.

"If I focus I can lower blood usage through the night to zero, wish me luck and Colin thank you." Elias smiled as he talked and then satisfied walked to the uncomfortable bed and sat down on it, indian style. Sitting down the shark was engulfed in a blue light as presumably the Kagen side and vampire side fought for control. Dustin sat down to Colin and comforted him as he started to cry.

...

And then there was light, peering through his eyes; Dustin found himself waking up and breathing once again. Maybe this nightmare would be over, maybe it would all be over. Dustin could tell that wouldn't be true the second he felt the bed, it was hard and crusty; and he could see the sun's beams broken by the steel grey bars and tinted by the force field. Hell wasn't a nice place but at least it didn't trap you.

Standing up, he saw Elias, his vampiric urges over and simply sleeping next to Colin. His hand position like he was comforting the lizard, at least the lizard looked at peace in his sleeping form. Waking up maybe it would at least stay like this, the three of them growing up immortal. Then two of them and Dustin might remain. Being immortal was just great.

Breathing as the sun appeared on his body, Dustin looked down at his clothes, the black hoodie and white cargo shorts. His fins appeared a bit dry, probably being in a forcefield wasn't helping. And of course his were the same he was wearing the day before and the day previous to that.

While he might have worn the same outfit combination everyday he still had multiple pairs and washed them; now this was just ridiculous. Standing up as he shoved the crud out of his eye. Standing up, he looked out of the cell and saw two different guards standing. Dustin of course pondered when they switched during the night, but there were of course bigger questions.

"So then folks how dammed do you think we are?" Dustin said as he sat down back on his bed and spoke to the two sleeping. At least it seemed that some sort of forgiveness had been achieved between them. Elias's ear twitched up as suddenly his eyelids followed and then his hand. And with a breath of air into his lungs and duel hearts the Kagen shark awoke.

And with his lover's wakening so did the lizard under him, Colin already seeing the world around him opened his eyes and saw in all directions. Auras entering his eyes and polluting his mind as he was forced to see all. Colin yawned and felt his neck, he smiled at Elias and kissed the shark. Dustin smiled and at least there was some sort of happiness in this place.

"Sorry Dustin sleeping on the job what did you say?" Elias said smiling with a melancholic undertone to his voice. They knew they were being dammed, crucified, made an example off, but if this was their last supper they would enjoy it. Dustin told himself that, maybe they could check in but they could never leave.

"So how dammed do you think we are?" Dustin said as he looked at the two, smiling as he looked at them. If this was their last day with any sort of freedom, then they would enjoy it in the best way they could. Dustin stood up and started to tap on the floor, he smiled at the other two and as they woke up, to the slow beat they started to dance. Colin smiled as they stood up and grabbed Elias's hand as well, they stood up and then they started to dance.

"Now then here's one to something we haven't had in a while." Dustin said as he changed his beat to a medium tempo. "Hail... Hail... What's the matter with your hair?"

Colin laughed as Dustin started to sign, all three of them awkwardly dancing around the cell, seemingly with no care anymore.

"Hail... Hail... What's the matter with your mind and your sign?" And Dustin started to sing; Colin leading Elias in a dance and Dustin trapping to the beat against the bed and the floor, creating his own little percussion band.

"And a, oh, oh, oh a... Hail... Hail." Dustin said as he sang the song he so often heard his mother sign. Sometimes in the car or sometimes by themselves, but it kind of was his hidden soundtrack. "Nothing the matter with your head baby, fid it, come on and find it."

"Hail... Hail..." All three of them sang as they started to get the song, Dustin get Colin in clapping as the three of them danced in rebellion to their own beat to the sound of their own drum. "With it, baby, cause you're fine, and you're mine, and you look so divine."

"Come and get your love. Come and get your love!" Dustin said as all three of them sang the song. Dustin clapped his hands together and put his head back in laugher looking at the two. "Come and get your love. Come and get your..."

And then a screeching sound against the forcefield, all three of them stopped and looked at the metal bars. Quite impressively, as the beat stopped they watched as General Thaddeus pulled his personal pistol away from the prime metal pillar. "Oh great.", Dustin's mind told himself, he had just found a way to damn himself even faster than before.

...

Once again they entered the court room; it seemed to be a less public affair then last time. Where journalists and an angry mob had arrived last time this time the front of the courthouse seemed to be blocked off. As they entered the courtroom, Dustin noticed something as he walked the two guards in front and in back of him seemingly walked to the same step. Looking up to Thaddeus, he walked step by step as well.

And as they passed the chip implanter this time, on the ground the table it stood on collapsed, the four all turned with the same glee in their step. Which was a little strange, no one watched them as they turned and entered the courtroom, stepping onto the carpet as the doors were opened, Dustin looked forward.

"Now then Outsiders, how do you like this little Kangaroo court I've set up?"

As they looked forward, behind the judges at their birthday party tables sat another judge. A shark sitting there with glee, smiling seemingly as old of them but hiding a deep and dark secret. The Kagen Twilight, stood in the judge's desk as he seemingly put his hands forward and shut the door behind them.

"Now say nothing Outsiders, but really I've got you this time. I mean while the public might hate you do you really think that any court would have the balls to convict city heroes?" Twilight said from his desk, seemingly the thirteen judges waved to his own drum. Their eyes blank and expressionless, there movements slow and bulky. "I mean really the only reason I am telling you this is so that you know I did this before we ship you off."

"Well then that explains somethings." Dustin said as he walked forward, escaping from the hypnotized Thaddeus's grip. Maybe Twilight had done something to their public perception so that the Director of the Outsiders would take large notice of them and thus be more likely to hand out the investigation card and then from their all he would need is a court of judges.

"It was just so easy, and tell me how do I look in this outfit?" Twilight said as he stood up, Elias groaning. This time the Kagen shark ever fashionable and adaptable to the situation seemed to be wearing a blackrobe and a white wig over his hair. Twilight's eyes flashed red and the Kagen shark jumped over the desk.

"You let us go, or I will put you through the wall." Dustin yelled as his hands even from behind his back shook. Twilight laughed as he glided over the judges and landed on the floor, the two sharks met in the middle. Dustin with his hands pulled back and powers unusable, and Twilight one of the most powerful Kagens.

"Oh really sounds like my sort of threat." Twilight taunted as he looked at the Outsider, he couldn't do anything with those cuffs on. Twilight walked backwards from the shark and sat down on the desk, grabbing he gavel out of the incapacitated judge and slamming it down on the wooden block. "Now then your crime; of course you have been interfering with the Kagen Manifest Destiny."

"Your verdict; you are guilt and will be dealt with." Twilight said as he teleported into the empty jury box and stretched his legs out. Yawning again Twilight jumped back up into the box and smiled as he looked down at the three Outsiders. "Now then your sentence; death by painful execution; now then a little help boys?"

Twilight snapped his fingers and suddenly Dustin found a gun pushed into the small of his back. If Thaddeus clicked the trigger, his guts would probably be spilled over the floor and that would be all around not a pretty sight to see, so Dustin was pretty much against that happening. Holding on, Dustin watched as Twilight smiled, this was the Kagen's victory and this was his defeat.

"Why do you do this, just give up; who cares about some sort of Manifest Destiny? The Kagens are dying, were losing universes daily and this vampire upgrade isn't working as well as you'd think. The Kagens are losing more and more per day, maybe we just need to give up now!" Elias said as he felt a pair of guns placed against his back and knew they were both aiming towards his hearts, Twilight smiled as he pushed the threat of eternal Kagen death against his brother.

"Oh really, I'd rethink what you're saying; the Kagens are a glorious race. The war might have ended with a loss but I see it as our own pyrrhic victory. We don't lose, the Kagens don't lose." Twilight said as he stood up and looked to the three Outsiders behind him, Colin was the only one not quivering in fear as he stood there with a gun pointed forward.

"And why aren't you afraid, haven't you heard about me or are you deaf as well stupid child?" Twilight spat to Colin as the blind lizard stood there not shaking as the red eyed Kagen walked forward. Colin said nothing as the Kagen walked over, looking the child in the eyes and viewing through the fog. Colin just laughed as Twilight looked into his eyes, like he was searching for an answer. "What are you stupid, don't you get who I am?"

"No I don't I see through your layers of hate and power, I once saw you for what you said yourself to be but now I see the man underneath, I see your fright and your loss in faith of the Kagens but do know it will get better when you lose and you can see the failures of your ways." Colin said as he stood up to the Kagen, Elias looked frightened as Twilight raised his hand.

"You know what, not many people would have the balls to say that to me, let alone a blind lizard trapped on a stupid, stupid Earth like you, so you get some of my respect." Twilight said as he smiled at the lizard and then turned away, walking back. This was still something he couldn't ignore. "But you will be the next to die by my hand."

As Twilight spoke, it was seemingly a command and the two guards pulled the guns away from Colin and the lizard smiled knowing that he might get to live without having to die by a gunshot to the back. That would have been a boring death and Colin didn't want that yet.

"Good then, now we move on to my brother. Look at how far you have come and look at how far you are going to fall. You are the Kagen's strongest and you have a vampire, but yet you will die a regenerationless death all because of your insubordination." Twilight said as he walked over towards his brother and looking at him smiled, Elias didn't smile back. He looked over to Colin and Twilight laughed. "And you breeding with a mortal, didn't Midnight ever teach you better?"

"Shut it I don't need your approval." Elias said as he stood still and looked at his brother; both of them raised an eyebrow and looked for a moment. Standing still the Kagen waited a second and then he walked away, turning his attention towards Dustin. The shark struggled to escape his bindings trying to do something, anything he could.

"And you Dustin, so nice of you. I would have respected you in the war, not unlike those other idiotic sharks Finn and Isaac." Twilight said, Dustin looking confused as Twilight spoke. He didn't question who the two were. He didn't need to know who they were. Standing still Dustin looked around the room and then he started to jump up and down.

'What do you have to pee? Actually please don't do that." Twilight said as he looked at the Outsider before him, he looked so stupid as he jumped up and down. His rattles jangled as the Outsider seemingly attempted to escape his bindings and then Twilight realized what was happening. Suddenly the walls busted open and water poured out.

The Courtroom was ruined; Dustin threw himself on the floor, knocking the solider under him away. Landing on the ground, Dustin felt the water touch his gauntlets. As such happened, Dustin felt it follow between his fingers, just enough that he could wiggle his fingers.

Dustin smiled as he felt the water move around at his command. And then his masterplan, pulling his fingers back forward a second he slashed them forward and then broke through the palm of the gauntlet. Pushing his palm out, he felt his fingers pull out of the metal and were given enough room to wiggle.

"Now then Twilight, let's see how you do without your warriors." Dustin yelled as he started to palpate his fingers and make minislashes through the armor. The armor then opened up and Dustin felt him fingers escape from containment, the shark stood up and opened his arms up as he looked at the Kagen in front of him.

"Now then about those warriors." Dustin said as he put out his arms and suddenly ice formed around the three warriors and they were pulled to the ground. All three of them were knocked out against the wet ground. Dustin smiled looking at his escape of the Kagen's trap. Standing up, Dustin looked around and looked at the Kagen. Putting out his arms Dustin walked forward, as he grabbed some water and started to form a tidal wave of his own.

"So then Twilight you want to hurt my friends, you want to trap us and destroy our reputation, fine then. But if you want to ruin this city's justice department with hypnotism and try to fuck everything up, then you are going to be due for a fucking ass kicking!" Dustin said as he pushed the water back, the tidal wave reaching the height of the ceiling. And then as Twilight realized that he was going to lose, he decided to pull a pyrrhic victory out of the situation.

And then he teleported...

Dustin stood still as he looked at the empty room, Twilight disappeared and the judges and generals and militants freed from his control. While he might have disappeared at least the Justice Department of New York City was freed from its corruption, mostly.

Dustin unfroze the water and pushed it back into the pipes, fixing them with his little touch. It was a nice party trick and generally helped them get away with a little less of trouble. Dustin smiled as the justices woke up and looked at them, he looked around and wondered if their case would still stand.

"So then Twilight took you over, and this case is a scam so we're just going to leave." Dustin said as he looked over the Outsiders and they stood up confused but with a look of relief. The judges looked confused and Dustin just decided to walk out of the door, the Outsiders freed. Opening the door and walking onto the marble surface and the police officers looked confused as they raised their hands.

"Well then, this is the sweet taste of freedom and liberty." Dustin said as he walked out of the courtroom, hoping that their freedom was assure. Walking to the steps, Dustin heard the sound of people outside, and still a crowd of white signs painted with multiple colors standing in front of the door.

"Strange they knew that we had been convicting why are they still protesting against us?" Elias asked he grabbed on to Colin's arm and held him in place finally feeling freedom after two days. While the other two stood still, Dustin walked forward and down the steps.

"Do you think they're going to let us go?" Colin asked as he looked at Elias, the shark rubbed his hand on Colin's back. Standing still, he looked around and waited wondering if this was it. Dustin stomped down the steps and looked through the door and then smiled.

"Well then boys come down here, come and get your love!" Dustin said calling to the two of them. Colin walked down and looked forward, he just saw a massive crowd of maybe a thousand or so people. All standing in front of the courthouse, Dustin smiled and his aura brightened up.

And before them a massive crowd, all of them cheering for the Outsiders as they walked outside of the building. Everyone pushed them forward, out onto the streets and out of the courthouse, they were all welcomed they were all wanted, the crowd supported them and their ideals were proven today. They defeated the militants and they defeated the broken court, because they were the Outsiders.
