#9 of Highschool Life

This is a filler chapter that I just really wanted to write. These chapters are not that related to the story or plot but (I think) these chapter will show more about the characters. I hope you'll take time to read it and like it the same ^w^ Anyways, without further delay, Chapter 8.5 of Highschool Life. Enjoy ~ !

Ken's PoV

I put my right paw in front of my mouth as I let out a loud yawn. I open my eyes slowly and see something orange that I can't make out in front of me. My vision slowly clears up and it looks like hair. Oh, right, the others are sleeping here for the night. They came to my house, got captured by some reason, and then things happened. Honestly, I never expected yesterday to happen like that. It was very confusing, how many things happened so suddenly and turned everything upside-down, but it all turned out amazingly well. So many of my questions were answered, I was able to finally talk to Dad, and... I have found what I treasure dearly.

I push myself up and look at them. They all look peaceful in their sleep. It never occurred to me that we'd be spending some time at my house. I mean, the way I am, an introvert who never cared about others back then to have friends. Not to mention, letting them sleep in my house.

"Hmm?" I try to stand up, but something is clinging on my left arm. I check and see Rue hugging it. I feel myself blush, how he's hugging my arm while sleeping. He looks cute like a little, innocent cub. I pet his head lightly with my right paw, admiring a bit of his cuteness. I flinch a bit when he suddenly groans, but it looks like he's not waking up anytime soon.

I continue to pet his head as I look at him. I wonder what time it is right now and how long I've been doing this, but as I pet him, I don't mind how long. After all, he's also someone precious to me that I want to protect and take care of. The more I look at him, the more I want to protect him.

After a while, Rue starts to wake up. His eyelids flutter a bit before opening widely. He blushes red all of the sudden, lets go of my arm, and awkwardly sits up straight, pushing his index fingers against each other. With that darker green spot on his right cheek, it makes it look like his blushing is of different colors. And the way he acts, it makes him look cute.

"Umm... how long have I been...?" he sheepishly asks. I shake my head in response.

"Doesn't matter," I say as I turn my head to the other three behind me, "Looks like they're still asleep." Rue crawls by my side and we both look at the other three who are still sleeping. Tabitha has her mouth open widely while drooling on her pillow, muttering some words that don't make sense. Riese is hugging Varu, who is facing away from him, with a smile, snuggling him and rubbing his face on his back. Varu, looking at his smile, seems to not mind.

"So, um... I'm sorry for hugging your paw," Rue sheepishly apologizes.

"I said that it doesn't matter, and I didn't mind," I try to comfort him, but my voice sounds like it was trying to intimidate him instead. Hopefully he understands what I mean. I'll have to change my tone a bit next time. Though, I've been like this ever since, intimidating, terrifying. It might take a while for me to adjust, but I mustn't change completely. After all, I still want to protect them, and I need to be strong to do so.

"Riese...!" I hear someone whispering faintly. It looks like Varu is awake since it came from him. He keeps calling Riese to move, but Riese just replies with some mumbling that I can't hear clearly. Tabitha then lets out a loud yawn as she rubs her eyes.

"Dad, what's for breakfast..." she grunts. With her half-open eyes, she looks around the room lazily. "Oh, right, I'm not at home. Ayup!" Tabitha jumps up with energy, letting out loud grunts as she stretches around. She then sees Riese and Varu and a wide grin arcs across her face. "Ohoho, what is this?" Tabitha bends her body as she puts her paw above here eyes, "You two look cute together," she says with her grin.

"No we don't!" Varu retorts, blushing red at Tabitha's comment. "Seriously, dude, get off!" Varu struggles to push Riese away, but Riese fights back by hugging tighter.

"No, you're too fluffy," Riese comments with a sleepy tone.

"That's not a reason to hug me!" Varu continues to push Riese but to no avail.

As I continue watch them, I got curious if his fur is really fluffy. Without second thoughts, I slowly crawl to Varu and lightly touch his arm with my palm. He's right, his fur is unusually fluffy. His fur isn't too short nor too long, making it have a bit of distance from the top to his skin. The feeling isn't like cotton, but it still feels soft. Soft and fluffy, honestly something I wouldn't expect from a fox. Not that I would know, I never made physical contact with anyone before.

"Woah, lemme try," Tabitha joins in and rubs his cheeks, "Mhm. Soft and fluffy," he continues rubbing his face, this time a bit vigorously. I can tell how uncomfortable Varu is right now.

"Stop it!" Varu pleads, blushing redder. I stop, but Riese is still hugging him and Tabitha continues to rub his cheeks, albeit a bit slower now. It continues on like that until a grumbling sounds echoes the room. I immediately blush in embarrassment.

"I didn't eat dinner yesterday," I say before Rue was about to ask.

"I'm very sorry, Master Ken!" Maggie, who suddenly appears right before us, bows down, "I forgot about your healthy dinner yesterday because I was so caught up of everything that happened. I'm a failure as a maid! I ended up enjoying the day smiling and being happy for you but it turned out that you didn't have your dinner. I'm ashamed!" her pitch raises from time to time as she says.

"How did you get in?" Riese asks, a bit surprised. Maggie straightens herself but tilts her head afterwards with a straight face.

"What do you mean? I came from the door," Maggie moves aside a bit and gestures at the half-open door.

"Uh, it's okay, Maggie. It's not your fault. I didn't eat because I forgot to as well," I tell her, but she just bursts into tears afterwards. "Wh-What's wrong?"

"That's it, I'm making you a hearty breakfast to compensate for your lost dinner. I shall be at the kitchen if you need me," she says as tears flow down her cheeks, but her eyes were serious. "Please excuse me," she bows down, and leaves afterwards.

I can feel an awkward atmosphere floating around us. We exchange looks at each other with a bit of a confused look. After a while, Aunt Minako opens the door with a wide smile while saluting. Her tone is back to her happy, lazy self.

"Yo, you guys slept well?"

"Yes, ma'am!" Riese and Tabitha chorus as they salute as well, with Riese still clinging on Varu. Aunt Minako giggles a bit.

"Well, come on. I don't always see Maggie pumped up like that. You can, like, really tell how she'll do her best in making today's breakfast. Of course, bread for life. Nothing is better than bread," she says the last part to herself before going downstairs, leaving the door half open. I notice that the others were looking a bit uncertain of what to do.

"It would be impolite to refuse an offer," I say with a faint smile as I stand up. "But first--"

"Oh, by the way, you two look cute. Jaa ne ~" Aunt Minako pops up just to say that before leaving again. She was probably referring to those two.

"Just end me," Varu says with a depressed tone, yet blushing at the same time.

"No can do," Riese lets go of Varu and stands up. "Your fault for being so huggable, anyways. So, Ken, we should tidy up a bit first?" Riese asks. I nod in response.

"Let's finish this quick, I'm getting hungry," Tabitha says with vigor.

I ask them that if they're really hungry, they can just leave it to Maggie to do this. They say they don't mind doing a bit of tidying first. I half expect them to just leave it to Maggie. I guess I judge them a bit too early. Either way, we finish up tidying my room a bit and stacking the futons for now. With that done, we go down the stairs together, Tabitha and Riese are talking about how fluffy Varu was and Varu is blushing at their comments. I lead the way to the dining room and there, we are greeted with Aunt Minako seated on the end of the long rectangular table and Mom seated on the other end.

"Good morning, Ken," her happy voice made me flinch. I'm still not accustomed to things yet, even though I know everything is alright between us now. I guess that's the effect of having your mom change 180 degrees in just a day. It's not something that can easily be digested. At least, for me.

"Good morning... Mom," when I said those words, I think I see my mom shudder in delight. I don't know if it's my eyes deceiving me or she's just really happy.

The dining table was big enough to accommodate 12 people, but the table never reached that many. Back then, it was just me and Aunt Minako who eat together. If Mom was home, she'd either eat before or after us. It would just be a silent dinner with Aunt Minako's occasional questions like "How's it going?". I do enjoy the food prepared by Maggie, she's an excellent cook, but days go by and I sometimes don't remember if I really did enjoy it or not. The next day, I'd just go back to being my boring self, distancing myself, and the times when I enjoy the food was overshadowed by my dull, boring life. But now, we're slowly filling up the table to 7 people as the five of us take our seats in the right side of the table. They smile and chatter about things that I can't really relate, but it makes the atmosphere of this once dull dining room brighter.

"Yoh guys lohk sho happy," Aunt Minako says with a mouthful of bread. I'd tell her that it's impolite to eat with her mouth full, but she never listened to me about that.

"That's impolite, Ko-chan," Mom tells Aunt Minako, who then replies with a stern gaze.

"Who are you, again?" Aunt Minako asks with a straight face before swallowing the bread she was eating. "Oh, wait, Mi-chan, that's you. You looked so different I hardly even recognize you! Hahahahahahaha!" she lets out a fake yet joyous laugh, a laugh that wasn't like back then that sounded forced. The other also join in the laugh, some loudly, some silently, but they were still laughing. Me, I just smiled.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting," Maggie goes out from the kitchen with a trolley. Judging from the smell, I now know what she meant by a hearty breakfast. I know I'm blushing right now, because it was a dish that only Maggie and I know. "It's Master Ken's favorite," she says as she hands out the plate one by one along with a pair of chopsticks, and each one almost have similar reactions. They were either surprised or at awe.

"This is cute," I hear Rue silently complimenting the dish. I can see Tabitha already breaking apart her chopsticks.

The dish is omuraisu or Japanese Rice Omelette. I found the recipe of it one day when I was looking for something to cook on my free time, because I have plenty when I'm at home. Almost all of them looked the same with plain design and dressing, that was until I found a unique, and might I add cute looking one. It was a brownish bear made of rice sleeping underneath the omelette like a blanket. It caught my attention and I tried to make one right afterwards. Of course, Maggie was at the kitchen and, since I can't really keep cooking a secret, I told her about this. She agreed on helping and I was able to make one.

Today, however, the bear is replaced by each and every one of us. The color, the shape, everything was in detail up to the muzzle. Maggie even did the effort of adding additional details like Riese's goggles. We all look like we're sleeping peacefully underneath a delicious omelette blanket. Maggie really is an excellent cook.

"Oh, so this is Ken's favorite dish. I can see why," Aunt Minako snickers as she gives me a smug face.

"Yes, Master Ken adores cute objects," Maggie chimes in. I don't know why but I see myself flailing my arms towards Maggie, blushing and trying to tell her to keep quiet but no words come out of my mouth. "There is a story that I really do want to tell, but I'll save that for next time," Maggie says with a smile on her face, but what I see is a mask, and underneath is a devious grin.

"Oh, I think know that story. You already told me about that," Mom giggles. "Also, you can omit the honorifics."

"Yes... Mi-chan," Maggie nods.

"Yep, that's it, Ma-kun," Mom says.

"Uwah... it's been a long time since you called me that...! Mi-chan!" Maggie jumps at Mom and gives her a hug. This made me surprised, since I don't really know any of their history.

"Aw man, again with that. Seriously, Ma-kun, get a hold of yourself," Aunt Minako says while eating her omuraisu, but it went to deaf ears as Maggie continues to hug Mom. "We'll tell their story in another time. Until then, stay tuned," Aunt Minako says in a commentary sounding voice. I don't know what she's talking about, honestly.

"Mmm, this is great!" Tabitha scarfs down her omuraisu with vigor, leaving a bit of a mess on the table and on her face.

"Hey, don't eat your food too fast or you'll choke," Varu tries to tell Tabitha, but she just raises her now empty plate in the air and asks for seconds. "That was fast!"

"Coming right up," Maggie says as she goes back to the kitchen swiftly and coming back with another place of Tabitha omuraisu. "I prepared two of these just in case. I'm really glad you like it." Maggie bows.

We continue to eat our hearty breakfast as we talk about how great Maggie's cooking is. No one starts the topic about what's Maggie's and Mom's history are but it's not really something that I'm that curious about. As long as everything is fine, I don't mind knowing. We did talk about what happened yesterday and we fill them in on what happened. Mom and I tell them everything, from the plan to process, my life, and the result. Maggie and Aunt Minako was actually in on it, but it didn't really surprise me given how calm they're acting.

"Ah, that was good!" Tabitha says as she swings her hands to the back of her neck.

"Mhm, and now that we're done, let's take a bath together!" Riese says with enthusiasm, but Varu, who is drinking some juice, does a spit take, coughing and pounding his chest lightly. It makes the table a mess, but I can understand his reaction.

"What?!" Varu says, blushing.

"Eh, I don't mind. Ko-chan, wanna take a bath together?" Tabitha asks with a wide smile.

"Gladly, Tabitha-chan. I haven't bathed for like, three days already. I think. It'd be nice to have some company," Aunt Minako says.

"Um... Mom, Dad, and I used to take baths together. They're family so it's okay. But...," Rue says sheepishly, his voice a bit faded and hard to hear.

"Aw, fine. Maybe in the later chapters, then," Riese says with a wink and a tongue out. I don't understand what he means by that, but judging from how he said it... nevermind, I don't really understand. I do remember Riese talking about our story as a club... So that must be it. "For now, we shall explore Ken's house!" he points at a random direction with a foot on the table, like an explorer putting his foot on a rock before starting on an adventure.

"This isn't some kind of exploration trip," Varu says with an annoyed tone. "But that doesn't mean I'm not interested," his tone quickly changes to excitement as his tail wags around excitedly.

"You don't mind if we explore a bit, Mrs. Aki?" Riese asks.

"Go ahead. And you can call me Minami-san if you're comfortable with it. I honestly don't like formality," she says with what I think is a lazy tone as she swirls around a strand of hair with her finger. I remember Rue's parents saying something similar.

"Alright, then let's start!" Riese says, raising a fist in the air.

Varu suggests we go to the kitchen first. He didn't tell us exactly why, just that he just wants to see and that it's the nearest place we can go to first. The moment he goes inside the kitchen, his eyes sparkle with amazement. We do have a complete set of utensils, ranging from the different types of knives to the pots and kettles of different sizes, frying pans, baking equipments and measuring cups and spoons, and all sorts of utensils that I haven't named. There's also a large refrigerator filled with all kinds of ingredients from meat to vegetables stored in it. There's also an electric stove and oven. Throughout the exploration, Varu's eyes are sparkling and his tail keeps on wagging excitedly. This make me take time to appreciate how nice and complete the kitchen actually is.

"Are you interested in something?" Maggie walks in the kitchen and asks Varu.

"I've never seen something so great in my entire life. A kitchen with complete tools and equipments, and each one of high quality. The ingredients are also of high quality! You can make almost anything with this kitchen!" Varu exclaims loudly, "And it's also so clean!"

"You have quite an eye there. You must do a lot of cooking."

"I can say that I'm still not that good, but a chef is only as good as his utensils, so the better the utensils, the better the quality."

"That's correct," Maggie giggles.

The two continue on with their talk about food, utensils, and the kitchen. With Riese, Tabitha, Rue and I not being able to relate to the topic, we ask them if we can go on ahead. Varu says it's fine and that the kitchen is all that he needs to know how great Ken's house is. And so, we slowly leave the kitchen. I can tell that the two of them will be good friends.

The next up is the bathroom. It wasn't really anything fancy, just that it's larger than your ordinary bathroom. Though, I do remember there being a public bathroom, but it's always been locked for some reason. We still tried to go there, and it's suddenly unlocked. Was this planned? Nevertheless, we open it and we're introduced to a Japanese style public bathroom and at the end is an empty tub possibly used for a sauna. It looks like it can accommodate six people.

"Yeah, this is where we're gonna take our baths in the later chapters," Riese says.

After looking around the public bathroom, we decide to go the the third floor, where all the recreational floors are at. Riese says that we'll save the living room for the last as that will be our rendezvous point. Climbing up the stairs, I tell them that the second floor only has our own rooms so there's nothing to search there. Also, let's respect our privacy and not barge into anyone's room. There are five rooms on the second floor, mine, Aunt Minako's, Maggie's, Mom and Dad's, and a spare room that's always been kept tidy. Again, there's really nothing to search here.

Upon reaching the third floor, Tabitha's eye catches a sign that intrigues her. The training room. We decide to get there, a bit forced by Tabitha. Once we enter the room, Tabitha looks around and gives a long "wow". I can say that the equipments aren't as many as you see in gyms, but they're complete. I don't need really need to specify the names, just that I do them from time to time.

"Dad would be so jealous when he sees this," Tabitha adds as she lightly touches a barbell. "Yep, totally jealous. Anyways, next room ~!"

We go to the next room, the sports room. This is where I can play some sports that are possible indoors like basketball and volleyball. This is also where I practice Kendo on my free time. I notice that Tabitha is looking with a straight face, but her tail says otherwise as it's waving around happily.

"So, may I stay here for a bit? I wanna explore this place a bit more," and with that, we leave Tabitha alone as the three of us go to the next room.

The next room we have is the gaming room. I happen to have all the console currently available at the moment, but the games I have are only the games that interest me. The genre that I prefer is JRPGs. I don't like games that don't tell a good story. Though, I still like other genres like FPS, but the games that I really play are those with stories. Mystery games come in mind, or games that use logic. In the end, it all boils down to "if I want to play or not" since I don't really spend that much time in playing video games.

"This is amazing!" Rue says with crossed eyebrows. She really seem to love gaming. "You even have all the Atelier games! I still think the classics were better, but the new ones are still good." he keeps on talking about games. I can slightly relate, but it looks like Riese doesn't. "So, um... may I stay here for a while? I'd like to look at all your games," he says sheepishly. Riese and I agree as we leave the room.

"He's quite the gamer, huh?" Riese asks. I nod in response.

The last but not the least is the library. This is actually a great place to spend some time and reading some of the great novels out there. I also come here to read on my free time and when I have nothing to do. I've read some great books here, but there are also those that are a bit subpar. Well, it was the cover that made me buy it, but it wasn't that big of a waste. I only bought some novels, the rest are already in the library to begin with.

I look at Riese and it looks like he's taken a liking of the library. His eyes were sparkling and his tail was wagging excitedly.

"These are a lot of books, and by a lot, I mean a LOT!" he yells the last 'lot' out loud as he runs around and checking the shelves. "Like, how many books are here about planes? Lemme see..." he scurries around, moving from shelf to shelf, searching for books that he's looking for. "Is it okay for me to borrow some books here?" he pops his head out from the side of a shelf.

"Sure. I can't read all of them, anyways."

"Sweet! I'll check back to you once I've found all the book I'm looking for!" he says as he dashes through the different areas like a swift shadow. I had no idea he likes reading, judging from his personality. It's quite a surprise.

"I'm gonna check on the others. We'll meet at the living room afterwards."

"Mhm, okay, sure. Woah! There are a lot!" Riese continues to shout as I leave the room. Nevertheless, he's still noisy even if he likes to read.

I go back to the gaming room to check up on Rue. He's looking at all the cartridges that I have stored in a box. He notices me and flusters a bit.

"Um, I'm sorry. I just got curious," Rue says sheepishly.

"Well, it's exploration. Anyways, do you want to bring some home?"

"N-No! I don't, I mean, um," he's falls silent, probably choosing his words. "I know it's selfish of me to ask but, is it okay?" Rue asks.

"Yeah. You can borrow anything. I've already played all these games, so feel free to choose."

"Th-Thank you!" a smile arcs across Rue's face. I can't help but blush at how cute he looks.

"Anyways, once you're done, we'll meet up in the living room. You know where it is, right?"

"Yep, it's the room with the big door, right?"

I nod. With that, I leave Rue alone as he continues to look around the room, searching for what he would probably bring home. I go to the sport room afterwards, but I notice that Tabitha is nowhere in sight. She probably already knows where we'll go afterwards, so I go downstairs to the first floor.

I see Varu standing in front of the living room door, possibly waiting for us.

"Hey, Ken. Where are the others?" Varu asks.

"Riese is in the library looking for books to bring home. Rue is in the gaming room looking for games to bring home. Tabitha was supposed to be at the sports room, but she's not there so I don't know where she is right now."

"I see."

A deep silence comes afterwards. It looks like Varu wants to say something, but he just doesn't want to.

"We should wait for them in the living room. Maybe Tabitha is there already."

"That sounds like a good idea." Varu says. I can see that he's breathing lighter now. Maybe he was just shy to ask if we can go to the living room.

We enter the living room, but Tabitha is nowhere to be seen. I wonder where she is right now. The living room is simple, a flat screen TV, a large couch able to fit around seven people and a large coffee table on top of the red matted carpet. There are also large speakers, but I don't always use them as they tend to get a bit too loud. Loud musics are very annoying and they tend to hurt my ears. I listen more to classical music or just anything that's not loud. There's also a door connecting to the dining room, but in the dining room it's made to look that that door doesn't exist. I'd say that it's useful when you're like Aunt Minako.

"I'm here! Where's everybody?" Tabitha enters the room, wearing a bathrobe and rubbing her wet hair vigorously with a towel. "I took a bath with Minako-chan. Sorry for not saying."

"It's fine. But you should change your clothes first." Varu says.

"Oh, right, I forgot I'm not at home and don't have any spare clothes. You guys are still wearing those bedroom clothes, even. Well, except for you, Ken." I just realize that.

"Oh, you're right. Well, I'll just change to my uniform tomorrow. Wait, do you know--"

"It's in the spare room on the second floor. Minako-chan told me." Tabitha cuts off Varu before he could finish.

"I see, well that's reassuring."

"So we're not gonna take a bath together this chapter?" Riese suddenly appears from the door with two books at hand.

"Of course not!" Varu retorts, blushing slightly.

"Oh, what books did you decide to bring?" I ask Riese and he shows me the first book, which has a cover of a paper plane and the title 'Soar High and Believe'. I've read that book before, it's a story about an insecure German Shepherd wanting to fly a plane, but his left eye is blind so it's hard for him to be a pilot. Not only that, because of his insecurity, he only has one true friend, a Fox, who is always there for him. He's a bit pushy and straightforward, but the canine is always happy to be with the vulpine. In the end, the canine dies, but the Fox carries on his dreams of flying a plane. It was made by a new writer, and that writer says that his writing skills weren't that great, but the story received good comments, especially since that was the writer's first story to be published.

"That's a great book," I tell Riese.

"I know, right," he says as he puts the book on the coffee table. "So, we're waiting for Rue now, right?"

"I'm here," Rue sheepishly goes inside, carrying five cases. "Um... I'd like these, if you don't mind. I mean, borrow these! I'd like to borrow these," she shows the games while covering his muzzle.

"Sure, I told you any game. You seem to like JRPGs as well," I tell him.

"Mhm, I've actually been wanting to play these, but I didn't have enough money to buy them myself. I wanted to tell my parents, but I just..." his voice starts to fade into mumbles at the end.

"Well, now that we're all here, what should we do?" I ask.

"We're done with exploring the house, and we already got what we wanted. That settles it, we're taking a bath together!"

"Seriously, it's not funny," Varu says with an annoyed tone.

"But I'm serious. Well, if you guys really don't want to, I guess we can go out. I know this pizza place nearby and we can snack a bit there before we head home."

"Sure, let's. I've been craving for some pizza for a while now. I haven't eaten for, like, two weeks," Tabitha says, rubbing her stomach lightly underneath her bathrobe.

"Sounds good. Are you okay with it, Ken?" Varu asks.

"I... never actually had pizza," I tell them. They all seem shocked.

"Are you serious?" Tabitha asks, a bit surprised.

"Don't worry, you'll like pizza," Rue says, obviously excited as his tail is wagging. I trust him on that and take his word.

I tell Mom and the others that we're going out. They were nice enough to give Rue and the others spare clothes for them so they quickly change into them as Maggie goes to the second floor and getting their bags. I decide to go to my room and change as well. After changing my clothes to a casual white shirt and black shorts, I walk down the stairs and see Maggie already handing the bags back to Rue and the rest. Rue is wearing a green long sleeve shirt paired with blue shorts. Varu is wearing a blue shirt and black shorts, while Riese is wearing the opposite with a black shirt and blue shorts. Tabitha refuses to wear a dress, so she wears an orange and white stripe shirt with red shorts. Where did they get all these clothes, I wonder.

"We'll be off now," I tell Aunt Minako and Maggie as I wave goodbye.

"I'll tell your mom. She's currently talking with your dad. See you laters!" Aunt Minako says.

We arrive at the pizza place Riese mentioned and go in. There aren't many people so we are able to take our seats afterwards and, after talking on what will be the toppings for the pizza, Riese asks for a large, bacon and cheese pizza. I have no objection against bacon since they're not that bad, neither do I have any objection about cheese. Besides, if I want to try out different toppings, Riese says that I can just ask whenever I want the next time I visit here.

After a while, our pizza is ready and is served on our table. It was a large, twelve sliced pizza. The mixed aroma of the mozzarella cheese and bacon going through my nose was great. I'm still hesitating on eating it, though, since it's my first time.

"Are you sure you never ate pizza?" Riese asks.

"I've only ever seen pizza, so I never tasted nor ate."

"You'll like it," Rue says as he gets a slice of pizza. "Here," he extends the pizza to me with a smile, and I accept it. He then takes another one as he puts it close to his mouth.

Hesitating, I slowly take a bite, and was surprised on how good it was. The next thing I know, I was slowly eating the pizza. Rue smiles at me as I eat, making me blush a bit. He then eats his own pizza and shudders. The others are enjoying the pizza as well. I'll be sure to visit this place from time to time. Of course, I'll have to balance what I eat since this is made with dough, cheese, and bacon. It's not really that healthy a snack, but it's something nice to eat.

We continue to eat pizza until it's all finish. It was satisfying to eat, especially with them. I don't know why, but food tastes tastier with others. With that done, Riese pays for the bill, even though the others insists on splitting the money. That's nice of Riese to do, but I also feel guilty that he's paying it all by himself. He says that he'll just ask a little favor when he needs to in the future. It sounds ominous, but since he's already paid for it and not taking any of our money, there's really nothing we can do.

After leaving the pizza place, we say goodbye to each other and part ways. I go back to my house, a bit lonely, but I know that they'll be there. Well, they're already here in my heart to stay, but we'll meet each other again at school anyways. Everything happened quite fast, but I'm happy that everything is, well, great. I'm contented now that I know we'll continue to make memories and that they'll always be by my side.
