Arthur's Note:

Hello there! I am sorry for not posting up a chapter last week I was kinda busy. I just recently lost my cell phone thanks to someone who I know... what a jerk. Anyway, I also went out and bought a PS3! So now I own all three next gen systems!! I think that's so cool! I can play whatever game I want yays! Anyway, I could ramble on for a hot minute about this so I better stop now, or else I'll have to start naming this part of the chapter "Arthur's Diary" lol!! At any rate, I hope you enjoy the chapter! XD

-PREVIOUSLY ON DRAGON STORM-

Just then Rio's skin began to pulse red repeatedly. He was on the ground in pain screaming at the top of his lungs. Suddenly, a dark aura engulfed him and swirled while rising upward around him. Rio began to twitch uncontrollably until he just stopped and remained motionless.

"War Wolf! What's going on here what have you done to him!?" Lazz asked in panic.

"I have done nothing! When you slammed your foot on the metal floor and shook everything my G.O.N. weaken...remember...it does that. You're the one that pointed that out and reminded me. In other words I have next to no idea what's happening to him, but whatever it is, it's not me!" War Wolf said firmly.

"Well I am not going to find out! Sorry Rio, but this is the perfect chance for me to kill you once and for all! I have made my decision and it's final! I have put a lot of thought into it and well... it was nice knowing you!!" Lazz said and ran up to him and attempted to stab Rio on top of his head.

"Ah! Now I remember!! He did this before! Lazz get away from there he'll-" War Wolf said, but then was interrupted at what happened next.

Just then Rio without even looking up caught Lazz's arm and stopped him. Lazz yelled in pain as his grip was even stronger then it was ever before. Rio then threw Lazz behind him sending him flying at insane speeds into a wall and then crashing into it leaving nothing, but smoke and debri behind. War Wolf tried to mind control Rio once more, but for some reason it had no effect. War Wolf began to panic as he stared at Rio slowly becoming a monster. Rio slowly got up off the ground like a zombie and slouched over and slowly removed his hand from the part of his face he was covering up. War Wolf was in shock as Rio revealed his face. Strange black markings were slowly spreading across his face and his left eye was no longer yellow, as now it glowed a bright red.

OPENING:

I guess I'm just trying to thank you?

Revealing only little bits of honesty.

As days go by we run away, by blaming someone else.

CHAPTER 18: The beast within and Lazz's Final Act of Desperation!

War wolf stood there in fear as he watched Rio slowly rise up from the ground. Rio was becoming a monster again. War wolf remembered what happened the last time Rio did this to his whole team and nearly won.

(Flashback: An earlier event)

War Wolf ran toward Rio and was about to deal the finishing blow when all of a sudden Rio's skin pulsed red even faster then before and his black stripes began to spread all over him covering him from head to toe in strange markings. All the damage Rio just took vanished and Rio roared as loud as he could which put out the fire tornado and it caused an earthquake. Rio grew back his tail and he also sprouted one small wing and spikes emerged from his left arm and leg. He dashed at lightning speeds past everyone and before they all knew it, they were in the ground in pain in massive puddles of blood. May used the last little bit of Quintessence she had and created a huge bubble and everything inside the bubble was instantly healed. May held the bubble as long as she could. Rio was on all fours once more zipping all over the battlefield.

(Flash forward: Griffin stronghold)

"Why can't I use my G.O.N. on you Rio?!" War wolf asked.

Rio did not reply back, but instead growled at War wolf with blood lust. He was slouched over now and he swayed his long tail side to side. He was not even blinking or doing anything else he just kept staring at War Wolf.

"My god... your not who you say you are... just who are you?" War wolf asked.

Just then Rio appeared behind War wolf and clawed him in the back. War wolf yelled as his blood splattered everywhere. Rio then grabbed him with one arm and tossed him across the room watching him crash into a wall. Rio let out a roar and watched as War wolf stood back up.

Arghh...What the hell?" War wolf said in panic.

Rio dashed at War wolf and punched War wolf, but War Wolf blocked it and grabbed him and pushed him down to the ground and stabbed both his hands together into the ground with his black sword. Despite how hard Rio tried he could not fight the pain. He roared loud and the room shook. Rio was helpless, he flailed around to try and get free, but it was no use.

"Raaaagggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Rio screamed.

" The markings on his body are still spreading? Now I get it! It finally makes sense! " War wolf thought.

Suddenly, Rio blasted a huge crimson red fireball at War Wolf who was caught off guard by this attack and was sent flying across the room and quickly used his G.O.N. to put out the flames. Rio quickly used his long tail to grab the sword handle and pull it up out of the ground. His hands were once again free and more black markings spread over his body. The markings covered half of his body at this point. His hands were bleeding heavily due to that last attack. War wolf then reached out in front of him with two hands.

"I'm done playing games with you, just die!!" War wolf said.

With that said, War wolf used his G.O.N. and took a giant chunk of the ceiling and smashed it down on top of Rio causing a giant crash. War wolf used his arms to block incoming debri and dust.

"How was that?" War wolf said.

Just then a huge fireball was blasted at War wolf. War wolf saw this coming and used his G.O.N. to push and force it back toward Rio; however Rio jumped and landed on the fireball and with his speed took off so that it would not burn him. Rio dashed on top of the giant fireball and finally jumped off of it and axe kicked War wolf in the face down to the ground. Rio then wrapped his long tail around War Wolfs neck and began to choke him while raising him upward. Suddenly, Rio punched War Wolf in the torso area of his body and punched him at lightning speeds. There was nothing War Wolf could do. He was getting hit so fast and so hard that he could not think straight. Suddenly, a grenade hit Rio in the side and sent him flying. War wolf fell to the ground in pain and also felt dizzy at first, but then when he came to, he clearly saw Lazz in front of him.

" Your lucky I saved you when I did it looks like you would have died had I not stepped in." Lazz said and pointed at War Wolf's torso armor.

It was cracked and then suddenly fell apart off of his body. The pieces fell to the ground and made a heavy thud. War Wolf looked at Lazz and shook his head.

"You dumb ass..." War wolf said.

"Is that how you show your-" Lazz began to say, but then was interrupted.

"No! Not that I mean I finally figured out how his markings work." War wolf said.

"Interesting... do tell." Lazz said.

"Yes, it's true. I know how it works now. You see... those black marking on his body spread all over his body until they completely engulf him in black. They spread only when you cause him pain! In other words the more pain he intakes the more those black markings will spread. The more they spread the stronger he becomes! And there is no telling what will happen when they engulf him completely!! Take it from me ok? I have fought him twice now... I have seen it happen and I am seeing it happen again!!" War wolf said firmly.

"Interesting indeed! So that's his secret weapon huh?" Lazz said.

"Yeah. However I doubt he himself is aware of it or it's potential outcome." War wolf said while getting up off the ground.

"Did it happen last time you fought?" Lazz asked.

"Yes. In fact the more we hit him and caused him pain the more the markings covered his body. I'm beginning to see how his G.O.N works now. At first he will begin to pulse red on his skin and it will gradually speed up its pulses. The pulsing acts as some sort of awareness or alert skill. It also gauges his level of power. The faster the pulsing the faster the black markings effect will begin. I think it would be best to fight from a safe distance at this point." War wolf said.

"There are only two things you said that bother me." Lazz said.

"Huh?!" War wolf said.

"First, when I shot him with that grenade just now.... Yeah, that was a acid round." Lazz said.

"What?!" War wolf said in panic.

Just then Rio emerged from the debri and got up slowly as the hydrofluoric acid ate away at his skin slowly. At the same time the black markings began to spread even more. Rio roared in pain and tears leaked from his eyes.

"There is no stopping him! As it stands we are outmatched here! He is already faster and stronger then us both and G.O.N.s have no effect! He is only getting even stronger so we should flee now Lazz!" War wolf said firmly.

Suddenly, Lazz threw a fireball above Rio in order to stop a piece of debri from landing on him. With that pain inflicted Rio would have become engulfed in black.

"I will kill you after I deal with the current matter at hand. My mission is to destroy BLACKFANG members and that includes your newest member Rio." Lazz said.

"Tsk! As if!" War wolf said.

Lazz faced Rio and began to ponder his next move.

"Let's see. Now that War Wolf can't read my mind due to the concrete helmet I made he can't make any perfect counter measures. As for Rio... I can't out run him so running away would get me nowhere. That was my last shot in my grenade launcher so I can't use that. My RPG-7 was blown up, that leave fireballs, G.O.N. and my finisher. Now which one should it be? Which ever one of the three it needs to either do no damage at all or kill him in one blow because if he gets hit one more time..." Lazz thought, but then his eyes widened in shock.

Suddenly, Rio just clawed himself on the arm and began to bleed massively. The black markings covered him from head to toe now. He was completely black now. Suddenly, Rio screamed at the top of his lungs as the black aura swirled around him and pushed Lazz and War Wolf away. They came to a stop and looked at Rio. Gusts of wind began to pick up and then suddenly everything stopped and there was a silence and a calm that filed the room. Just then, Rio's skin colors inverted themselves. Now Rio was black skinned with red stripes and there was a red aura that was around him. Lazz and War wolf ‘s jaws dropped. They could not believe how much Quintessence was being put out. Normally Quintessence isn't supposed to be seen, however they could see a red aura around Rio's new body.

"Whoa...Rio are you still there?" Lazz asked.

"Mwhahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!" Rio laughed.

Suddenly, one small wing sprouted from Rio's back and spikes emerged from his left arm and leg. Also chains appeared on his wrists. His eyes glowed red and there was a evil smirk on his face.

"What the hell is going on?" War Wolf asked.

"Rio!" Lazz yelled.

"Rio?" Rio said.

"Huh?!" Lazz & War wolf said.

"Sorry... Rio is not here... mwhaha!" Rio said.

"What the..." Lazz was dumbfounded.

"Who are you?" War Wolf asked.

"You don't need to know you weakling. Just call me Ori." Ori said firmly.

"You rearranged the letters in Rio's name to give your self one huh?" Lazz said.

"Not bad. However it is obvious. I don't need a name, what can one do with such a useless thing?" Ori asked.

" You're right, on the battlefield none of that stuff will make any difference. Hmm... just what are you?" Lazz asked.

" I told you that doesn't matter." Ori said firmly.

"I guess your right. All I have to do is kill you... so it's not like it will help me to do that anyway." Lazz said.

"I would watch your mouth if I were you. It very nearly sounds as though you think you have what it takes to kill me." Ori said.

Just then Ori glared into Lazz's eyes and Lazz felt an overwhelming power. It made him shiver and soon after he was on his knees. Lazz began to sweat and panic. He had never experienced a fear like this before. It was both eerie and choky.

"Unbelievable! If his Quintessence level grows anymore it will be stronger then... unreal... In the Dragon Enforcers Organization every division in assigned a lieutenant as well as a captain. Ori's level of quintessence is almost on captain level! That is something that is out of my league. I myself am only a lieutenant... it would be impossible. His very presence drops me to my knees. I feel like I'm being flatten like a pancake and choked. I can hardly breathe." Lazz thought.

"Enough! Take this!!" War wolf said and reached out in front of him to use his G.O.N.

Just then in a blink of an eye Ori was already behind War Wolf and smirked.

"You won't be needing this anymore." Ori said as he held up War Wolf's right arm.

"AAAGHGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" War Wolf yelled and fell to the ground in massive pain.

"............." Lazz was speechless.

"Hah! What a joke! I can't believe that Rio hangs out with such weaklings." Ori said and threw War Wolfs arm at Lazz.

Lazz managed to dodge it, but it cut the side of his face. The arm was sent flying across the room and finally hit a fire alarm and set it off. Suddenly, sirens went off and the sprinkler system showered them all.

"I'm... not... out... yet!" War Wolf said.

He reached out in front of him with his left arm. However before he could use his G.O.N. Ori blasted a black flame at his feet and melted the concrete and metal around his feet and with the water showering them all it mixed with them both and was instantly dried thanks to the heat the black flame was giving off. Now War Wolf couldn't use his feet and was losing a lot of blood.

"Arrrrghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make it stop!!" War Wolf said in fear.

"The arm he just threw at me was not aimed at me? No. He wanted me to dodge it. So he could set off the fire alarm...it was aimed at the fire alarm the whole time. He wanted to set it off in order to make a loud noise to block War Wolf from using his G.O.N. Also the water was an added bonus, he used it to wield his feet together with the ground so he could not move. And lastly now there is nothing he can do to save himself... he will lose blood and a lot of it. He's done for. Well, that takes care of War Wolf, now for Ori." Lazz thought.

"Was that a black flame I just saw?" Lazz asked.

"Yeah, what of it?" Ori asked.

"Black fire...it is said to be one hundred thousand times hotter then the sun's flames. How can your fire gland support such a level of heat?" Lazz asked.

" I am cursed to live inside Rio's body... he gets most of his power from me." Ori said.

"What do you mean?" Lazz asked.

"Enough! I shall not say it once more." Ori said.

Suddenly, Ori appeared behind Lazz and upper cutted him with his tail. Lazz was sent upwards and quickly looked down and saw Ori blast a black flame. Lazz didn't know what to do. His flame would not stand a chance against that black flame. Suddenly, Lazz thought of something. He quickly shot a mint-green flame at the black flame and proceeded to do so. The feedback he received from each one pushed him up higher until his feet reached the ceiling and then he pushed off of the ceiling and the black flame crashed and exploded on the ceiling. Meanwhile Lazz tried to punch and kick Ori at the same time. However Ori jumped over the attack and landed behind Lazz and was about to strike Lazz when all of a sudden Lazz kicked Ori into the air.

"Why you..." Ori said.

"No! That barely lifted you up into the air! I need you to go higher!!" Lazz said.

Just then, Lazz did a handstand and pushed off the ground and kicked Ori in the torso. Lazz noticed that he was barely lifted by that attack too. As such, Lazz proceeded to kick Ori higher into the air while blasting fireballs down ward to increase his own momentum. With each kick Ori was sent higher and higher into the air. It looked like Lazz was riding a bike the way he was upside down using his kicks one after the other. Finally when Ori hit the ceiling Lazz grabbed Ori's tail and swung him down to the ground with a great speed. Lazz clung to the ceiling with his talons and watched as Ori hit the ground and suddenly the whole room exploded. Then it set off a chain reaction of explosions. One after the other an explosion appeared and soon the whole room was covered in fire.

"arghh!! When did you set these C-4's? Hmmm... it must have been earlier while I was fighting War Wolf. Huh? What the?" Ori said.

"Triple BK suplex Fusion!!!" Lazz shouted.

Suddenly, Ori floated off the ground and was suplexed to the ground once. Then Ori's body lifted up again and jumped into the air and crashed down into the ground and was suplexed again. Finally, Ori's body was tossed into the air and was blasted with a mint-green fireball then was axe kicked back down toward the ground, but Lazz grabbed him and added a spin to Ori's decent and power driver suplexed him into the metal ground for a third time. Lazz jumped off at the last second and landed on his feet.

"I set C-4 while you were fighting War Wolf earlier and then when I was done I grabbed my grenade launcher and interfered with the battle. I placed them evenly apart to set off a chain reaction of explosions that would juggle your body into each explosion. Then while each explosion caused an even bigger smoke cloud I used my G.O.N. to camouflage with my surroundings and used my finisher, the Triple BK suplex Fusion to put an end to you Ori. Now even if you did survive you shouldn't be able to move." Lazz said firmly.

"You were saying." Ori said just as firm.

"What?! Unbelievable... You must be extremely fire resistant." Lazz said.

" Not only do I have Rio's fire resistant capability's, but I also have mine which is a stronger resistance then his. In other words your attack just now had no effect. Hah! Now it's my turn." Ori said.

Just then Ori jumped up into the air and fired blood red fireballs at Lazz. He fired them so fast that Lazz had a hard time avoiding them. Lazz ran as fast as his legs could take him. It was raining red fire and Lazz was headed toward the room he was in before as his final act of taking cover. However Ori appeared in front of him and grabbed his neck and forced him into the ground. Then Ori ran at full speed and dragged Lazz's head into the metal floor. After that, Ori slammed Lazz repeatedly leaving behind indentions of Lazz's body in the metal floor. Lastly, Ori hurled Lazz into the air and met him in the air and hit him into in another direction and met him their too. This progressed until Ori smacked Lazz to the ground and blasted a huge blood red fireball and watched as it exploded on top of him.

(Meanwhile)

"arghghghggghh!!!!!" Random griffin yelled.

"Hah! What a useless piece of trash. Thanks for your G.O.N anyway." Aisu said.

Just then a griffin ambushed Aisu in attempts to try and kill him, but it was no use. Aisu cleverly parried the griffin's attack with his lance.

"As long as my mist is around I can sense anyone in this area. It looks like you didn't have a G.O.N., oh well I guess. Hahahahahahah- huh!? What's this? This over whelming power?! It's far away... such strong levels of quintessence. It has to be if I can feel it from way out here. I wonder what their G.O.N. is?" Aisu said.

(Elsewhere)

"What was that?!" Wild Horn asked.

"I don't know, but it was strong. It matters not, we will complete our project long before anyone can stop us." Rock Lizard said firmly.

" I hope your right... I lost an arm in my fight with Lazz and I lost my horn in my fight with Rio. They are not to be underestimated." Wild Horn.

"Please spare me. You're giving them too much credit. In both those fights you told me you didn't even use your G.O.N. and you still kept up with them." Rock Lizard said firmly.

"Yeah, but I-" Wild Horn said then was surprisingly interrupted.

"There you are!! I finally found you Rock Lizard!!"

"Hm? Hmph. What do you want?" Rock Lizard asked.

(Elsewhere)

"The battle is over!!! The winner is... Necro!!!" Griffin announcer said.

"Alright! You're going to make Rock Lizard proud Necro! Now back to your cell!" Tiger Wanghu said.

"..................." Necro said nothing and walked away.

"You're going to be Aisu's replacement since he decided to be rebellious. If I ever see him again I'll- huh?! What was that just now? It's so far away yet it's so powerful!" Tiger Wanghu said.

"..............!" Necro stopped and looked up, shortly after that he proceeded to walk to his cell.

(Meanwhile)

Ori landed on the ground and walked toward Lazz.

"Well, well, it looks like your still alive." Ori said.

"agggrrrrhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I...I...have to.....run." Lazz said.

Ori walked even closer to Lazz as Lazz crawled away with all his might. He was trying to make it into the fancy room he was in before, but Ori caught up to him and picked him up off the ground and punched him in the torso into the next room. Ori walked into the next room to find Lazz lying there. Ori saw a picture on the floor and he stopped. Lazz quickly got up and punched him in the face and sent him into the room they just came from.

"Why you..." Ori said.

"You...have...to...remember...who you...are...Rio..." Lazz said with his last breath and collapsed on the floor. The picture that Lazz was now holding slipped from his hand and landed by Ori's feet.

"That's...that's... me?" Ori asked.

Ori held his head in pain and began to sweat. He began to panic and tremble. Just then Lazz got up once more and held out his KM 2000 combat knife.

"Impossible! He ...he...got up with sheer will power! Even when he's down he's still in the game. Huh?! Ahh!!" Ori yelled and then his colors reverted back to normal and his wounds did the same by healing themselves instantly.

"You...have to...remember..." Lazz said and then collapsed once more.

"Lazz? LAZZ!! Huh!? Is this...me? This picture...Lazz? Did you do this?" Rio asked and then ran over to where Lazz was and kneeled down to pick him up some.

"Lazz?! Wake up Lazz! LAZZ!!!" Rio shouted.

".... Rio." Lazz whispered.

"Lazz!" Rio said while a tear running down his face.

"I... tried...Rio." Lazz whispered.

"I'm so sorry...Lazz." Rio said.

"It's ok." Lazz whispered.

" I couldn't control my actions, oh, but god I was still aware. Forgive me." Rio said.

"It's alright. Listen, I'm going to be all right, I just need some time to heal. You need to stop him Rio." Lazz said.

"I can't just leave you here." Rio said.

"You have to. This is your only chance! If Rock Lizard succeeds, his secret weapon will be a global threat! Millions will die!!" Lazz said.

"Lazz." Rio said.

"I'm not out just yet!" War Wolf said.

Just then War Wolf reached out in front of him with his left arm and forced Rio to grab his handgun that Lazz was holding on to and loaded it with a bullet and pointed it at his own head.

"What? No! I can't stop it!!" Rio shouted.

"Rio...stop! I'm too weak to move...RIO!" Lazz said.

"Haha! I win, now die!!!" War Wolf said and laughed.

There was nothing Rio or Lazz could do, but watch as Rio pointed the gun to his head and slowly pressed the trigger.
