#1 of Ivy's Tale

Ivy took Agatha up to her room, since she didn't have anything comfortable to wear. While she was giddy, Agatha was more happy, in the sense that she just found a girlfriend. Ivy took after her father that, even in the presence of someone you may care about, you still act like a child. She ran into her room, almost losing Agatha's grip, then took her to the closet, "My mom goes shopping with me, since my dad isn't what you would call... fashionable. Everything in here is really nice and comfy, so try something... ugh." There was a ping in her stomach, quickly replacing the excitement. Something was about to go down, but she had no idea what it could be.

Agatha was rightly concerned, but Ivy just shrugged her shoulders. "Are you going to be alright, Ivy? You don't look so good."

Ivy smiled, "What's that supposed to mean? Anyway, here, try this red nightgown on. If it fits, you can wear it. If not, we'll try something else. Now, I'm going to change into my clothes out here in the hall, so no rush. See you when you're done." Ivy slowly shut her door and went to her parents room, where she had previously stored her clothes. She quickly changed and ran back to her room in a matter of seconds, just like her father had taught her. According to him, you should be able to quickly exchange whatever is on your person with someone else quickly. Of course, this mostly applied to his line of work, so Ivy learned it in place of a hobby. In fact, she knew very little about what her father actually did, as her mother left out a lot of important details. While she was waiting, a thought hit her, "Hey, Agatha! I need to call my mom, so take your time."

"Don't worry about that. I can't figure this thing out." Ivy laughed as she called her mom on her cell phone.

"Hello?"

"Hi mom. How was the trip?"

Lucy (her mom, for those of you who don't know) laughed a little, "Oh, it was fine, except for when Sakura took a nap and forgot to put the autopilot on. And your father, who just couldn't stay still. But that's just him, you know how he doesn't like your grandparents."

Ivy sighed, "Yeah, but you still haven't told me why. Either way, I think we need to talk."

"Is it about your father saying "awesome"? Because I need to tell you something about that. When he needs to determine the truth about something, he likes to play with people's heads. By trying to throw them off, he can tell by their response if they really mean what they are saying. Oh, and I was the one that told him."

"Hm?"

Lucy laughed, "You can't be married to someone like your father without picking up some of his tricks, Ivy. I found out and told your father, so he already knew about your little fight. Oh, and the kiss. Don't ask me how I found out about that, you wouldn't believe me if I told you. Try not to take what he said too seriously, okay? How are you doing?"

Ivy looked back at her room and could hear Agatha struggling with the night gown, "Well, I'm fine. I guess I'm a little hungry. But I think I can get a pizza or something. Agatha's here, so we're going to have a slumber party." There was a loud thump from Ivy's room, which must mean that Agatha fell, "Well, I hope dad isn't being too much of a pain over there. Maybe when you get back, you can tell me what he actually does?"

Lucy sighed, "I'll think about it. Now, attend to your guest. I'll call you tomorrow and check in on things, okay? Goodbye honey."

"Bye mom." Ivy hung up then went to her room, "Everything okay in there?"

"Uh... no?" there was another thump, "Can you come in here and give me a hand?"

Without thinking, Ivy opened the door. Inside, Agatha was staring at the gown, wearing nothing but her underwear. She was trying to determine the best way to tackle this challenge, but was having no luck, "Here, let me show you how to do this." Ivy picked up the gown a tossed it over Agatha's head, "Stick your arms up. The fabric doesn't stretch much on this thing, so you have to move your body to put it on." Agatha lifted her arms and let the dress fall to it's right position. Since Agatha was a little flat chested, there was some extra room in the chest area. Ivy resolved this issue by tightening the straps just enough. It fit her perfectly after the slight modification. The gown was silk, and a dark crimson color, perfect for Agatha.

"Wow... it's so pretty. Why didn't you want to wear this?"

"No," Ivy said with a smile, "It's really not my style. I prefer something loose and easy to move around in. But it really does look good on you. I need to grab some clothes out of here and change myself, otherwise I'll feel dirty for the rest of the night. Feel free to go downstairs and look around. I may be a minute."

Agatha smiled as she left the room and went down the stairs. The first thing she did, however, wasn't enjoy herself. It was trying to find her way around. The house was much larger than what she was used to, but it wasn't impossible. At the end of one hallway, there was a door left slightly ajar. Inside, it was dimly lit up, and Agatha could just barely see inside. There were large, comfortable seats and red velvety cloth lining the walls. She surmised that this was the theater Ivy told her about. She walked up to it and slowly opened the door, and saw that it was indeed a very nice theater room, better than the ones she had ever went to.

Suddenly, there was a soft thump, which made Agatha spin around. Ivy was standing directly behind her, with loose pajamas and her hat. Agatha put a hand on her chest to try and stop her heart from exploding, while Ivy smiled, "Sorry, did I scare you?" Agatha nodded, "Sorry, usually I'm louder than that. So what do you think? Nice, huh? My dad went all out with this. He's really soft when it comes to my mom. She kept telling me it was because he loved her a lot, which is true, but I think he has another reason. Anyway, I digress. Come on, try out the couch, it's the softest seat in the room."

The two girls went over to the elongated chair, called the "couch," and sat down. It was surprisingly soft, and big enough to fit two grown adults. It was in the center of the room, so it had a perfect unobstructed view of the large screen. Agatha shifted around to get more comfortable while Ivy picked up a large remote control, "So, what do you want to watch?"

"Well..." Agatha put her tail in her mouth, "I don't really know. I'm not much of a movie goer, so I don't know what's out. I also don't watch too many movies, so I'm not sure what I like."

"Hmm... I think I may know something. Start off with a comedy, nothing too heavy, nor too light. It should be fine. Oh!" She dropped the remote, and it bounced right in front of Agatha. As Ivy went down to grab it, so did Agatha, who knocked off her hat. Ivy felt her heart jump into her throat as Agatha stopped moving, so she froze as well. This was what her gut was warning her about. She slowly raised her body back up, eyes wide and muscles tensed. She concentrated all of her attention on the blank screen as she felt Agatha's eyes looking at her.

"Ivy? Why are there feline ears on your head?"

Ivy didn't know how to answer. A tear came down her cheek as she realized what a stupid mistake she had made. For years, she kept it secret, even on a windy day. As her father would say, it's always when you feel the most comfortable when the most things go horribly wrong. She didn't have any good excuses, "Well, I... I... my parents, do you know who they are?"

Agatha shook her head, "No, sorry. I've never seen them before."

"Well, one of the is human and the other feline. Usually, they wouldn't be able to mate because of the difference in species. However, my dad is... unique. An impossibility, if you will. He was born a human, but from a pure feline family. He has the abilities of a feline and human, combined. When I was born, they weren't surprised. I've had these ears," she pulled her tail out from under her shirt as more tears came down, "and this tail since I can remember."

She gave Agatha a minute to let it all soak in, "Doesn't it hurt when you tuck it under your shirts like that? I know when I do it gets painful."

"Why," Ivy asked, "don't you feel confused by this? Most people freak out."

Agatha giggled, "You aren't very smart, are you? Love has nothing to do with appearances. I like you for you, not what you look like. Besides, your ears are cute. They're a bright white against your raven black hair. And your tail is also very pretty. I have no idea why you would want to hide it from me." She leaned over and licked Ivy's cheek, clearing away her tears.

Ivy smiled again, as she leaned over to pick up the remote, "Alright, let's watch a movie to take our minds off of this, okay?"

"Hey! Why don't we play a game? That's a pretty fun system there, maybe we could play a multiplayer game together."

Ivy decided it would be okay, then walked up to a shelf in the back of the room that had all of her dad's games. She happened to have her mom's game-playing ability, so she didn't have a chance at any of the fighting games. She did notice one, however. It was brightly colored, and looked simple enough, "Hey, is this one okay?"

Agatha looked over her shoulder, "Yeah, wow. I can't even find that one. It's old, but still fun. Put it in, we can both play it together!" Ivy turned on the system and put in the game. There was something odd about this game, but she just couldn't put her finger on it.
