#1 of Orientation Day

Orientation day for a prestigious college can lead to great opportunities! Even flurries of romance. Sometimes with romance comes flares of lust. Our lovely couple soon find out what college life is REALLY about.

It was orientation at Calqued Academy's college for gifted women, a sister affiliation of the age old school. Usually one's who graduated from there would be transferred here. Many women of different races, ages and sizes came to this place to further their studies. A young woman stood in the doorway being gently nudged aside from the other women walking in and out. A few bags in her hands looking like a deer in headlights, trying her best not to be overwhelmed by everything.

A gentle press of a hand against her shoulder gave her a jolt of fright Her light brown fur standing on end whipping her head around. "Sorry dear, I was just going to ask if you were alright, you looked lost. A woman with pale bluish skin and long purple hair gave the girl a sweet smile. A very heavy Serbian accent weighed on her voice. My name is Fi, I am one of the directors here at Calqued. I will be directing you to your room, do you know where you are assigned?" The woman asked politely.

The hybrid shook her head. "No I don't think I was informed where to go when I received the acceptance letter. I just know this is where I was to go." Fi smiled to her and giggled. "Well you came to the right place. Your room is on the second floor room one twenty one. You have one room mate. She should already be in there if I am not mistaken." Giving the girl a key card, the red panda feline took the card and placed it in pocket making her way towards the elevator. Her dress flowed gently with the breeze as she walked, pressing the button she saw a young human standing and waiting at the elevator entrance.

She was about shoulder size when stood beside her. "Hey, you new here?" The short stature woman asked. The mint green haired feline nodded her head. "Yeah I just got accepted about a week ago." The woman smirked. "Congrats, it's not often we get newbies that weren't transferred from the other school. I'm Darci, I was just like you actually. Got here through good grades and determination. There's some people here that got here for other reasons that I'm not going to mention but don't worry. Keep your nose to the grindstone and keep at it and you'll do great." The ping of the elevator sounded as the doors opened, Darci patted the girl's shoulder smiling. "You coming or what?" She asked.

The feline's eyes widened hurrying into the elevator. "Minttu, by the way is my name. Sorry I didn't speak up sooner." She murmured, "Ah don't worry about it Mint. Shit happens, I can be a bit on the crude side but if you ever need anything just gimme a holler, I'm room one seventy five." The door opened to the second floor as the green haired girl walked out. "Thank you." Darci responding. "Anytime kiddo, see ya around." Before the door shut itself again.

Mint made her way through the winding hallway to room one twenty one, pulling out her key card and popped it into the key slot. A mechanical thud sound occurred unlocking the door and the feline opened the door catching a lynx eye to eye, matching about same height, a very peculiar coloration much like herself. The lynx looked at the girl a little dumbfounded. "Well You must be the new roomie." She spoke up politely, there was an awkward silence in the air soon after she spoke. Leaving a slight tension in the room. The lynx pursed her lip going back to what she was doing. Taking clothing from her suitcase and placing the clothes into drawers.

The door shut behind Mint hard with the click sound of it shutting and Mint moseyed over to her bed staring it down. It was a standard twin size bed very ordinary looking, "So my name's Rufina, if we're gonna be living together for the next year or so I think we should at least get off on the right foot." Mint seemed to snap out of a daze when she spoke up, all she could hear is the sound of her own heartbeat. In her mind she could hear her thoughts. "Is she for real..? Why can't I seem to talk.. Say something stupid!" She snapped up. "Mint!" Rufina looked at her quirking her head. "Riiight..Mint. Anyways I'm going to go over here and going to continue this and then I'm going to continue to unpack. If you need anything just give me a holler alright?" She laughed nervously.

Mint looked at her seeing just how uncomfortable she looked. "So-sorry, I'm just a little socially awkward.." She murmured. Rufina looked back at her. "Yeah? I couldn't tell too much. I mean I have problems with that too but you came off a little scary there. I was afraid you were gonna be one of the loonies that would be smelling my hair at night trying to become me." She forced a laugh.

Mint smiled at her; feeling a little more relaxed now. "Well.. What do you like to do for fun? I mean if we're roommates we might as well find some common grounds." The girl responded very simply, "I like music, I am a little more on the outdoorsy side, usually skiing and snowboarding." Mint smiled. "Well I do like music, I'm outside more often than not. I like to take photographs of the foliage and other things out in the woods. Animals, plant life..Things like that." She swayed her tail back and forth.

"It's always good to have a hobby I suppose." She stopped her unpacking and turned toward her stepping closer toward the girl. "There's something interesting about you. I can't put my finger on what exactly..But there's something...Unique about you." Mint's face turned a bright red, her legs tightening together. "W-what do you mean? Is that bad?" Rufina pulled up her hands and rushed over to her shaking her head. She grabbed the young ladies hands and looked at her. "There is nothing to worry about it's not bad at all." An awkward pause lingered in the air around the two.

"I think orientation ceremonies will be starting shortly. Maybe we should go." The silence was so apparent one could almost hear the pitter patter of the sped up heartbeats of the two. Rufina looked down seeing she was still holding onto her hands tightly. "Oh gosh I'm so sorry...! I didn't even realize. Oh jeez..!" Her cheeks turned a dark crimson. Dropping mint's hands profusely. "I-it's okay! Really, lets go together. It'll be fun." She smiled. Rufina nodded her head in agreement. "Well if you think it'll be okay."

The two girls left the dorm and followed suit many of the ladies that had recently enrolled. A large group of people in the recreation room, "Thank you all for coming! I am your head mistress of the college, Astrid Solomon. I hope all of you best and brightest will come to enjoy your stay in this prestigious academy." In the midst of the prattling on the two girls would exchange glances quietly back and forth. Until eventually mint's fingers slowly found their way over to Rufi's. Taking a single finger in her hand gripping it gingerly. "Thank you." She whispered.

Rufina smiled and slipped her fingers between hers and cupped her hand in hers. "Anytime." She chuckled giving her hand a gentle squeeze. The orientation finished and the girls looked at one another as the rest left. "So how about you and I fetch a coffee?" Mint asked bravely.

"Coffee sounds lovely." I know a quaint little place just down the road from here." The girl's walked hand in hand along side one another and made their way out of the college and out into the busy streets.
