Chapter 12: Another Growth Spurt

Toby was having the best sleep he had in years. His heart was still beating fast and hard from the night before. The door knob clicked open, and his ears perked hearing someone enter his lair. He growled softly, and he opened one eye groggily. He found Tom leaning against the door jamb with his arm crossed.

"So how's the little stud doing?" Tom asked before he grinned mischievously. He took a couple steps into the room before he began to fiddle with the wolfman figurine, which it almost matched the form that Toby was currently in. "I hear you found yourself a human. She is a very lucky lady to have you for a mate" He said with a chuckle.

Toby glared at him before he flipped facing away from him and nuzzling his head deeper into the pillow. "Raah!! I'm too sleepy..." he muttered letting out a deep muzzy groan.

Tom laughed. "Hun look...The alpha male is love sick" He teased.

His wife walked up to the door and smiled. "Oh bless his heart" She said before giggling lightly.

Toby sat up and looked at them annoyed. "I said I'm sleepy!!" He yelled in a deep scary beastly tone.

His mother walked up to the door with her arms crossed. "You're so dramatic! Just get up" she spoke with an annoyed leer.

He stood up and his head nearly banged against ceiling, which Tom and Nancy both stared at him in horror. She gasped a little holding her hand up to her mouth trying to hide her expression. "Toby...you've grown" she said before she blushed. "You certainly have been eating well" she said.

With the mention of food his stomach churned and growled out loudly. Toby moaned sitting back down. "I'm up already" He muttered in discomfort.

His mother stared at him with silent satisfaction. "Wow...he has to be eight feet tall right now" she muttered.

Toby groaned. "My head hurts" He muttered rubbing the top of his head. He examined his body seeing his muscles were much larger than they were prior. He squeezed a bicep, and he smirked. "Beefy..." he muttered. He looked down at his quads and blushed. "What the hell happened? I'm all hunky..." he muttered still in a daze.

His mother cleared her throat. "Toby...I think we should take you to see Dr. Lovejoy sooner!" She muttered in shock. He nodded slowly before she shook her head laughing. "I knew you were due for a growth spurt...I didn't know you would get that big" She said. She punched Toby in the arm. "You're built just like your father! Big and sturdy!" She said proudly.

He moaned clutching his stomach. "I've never been so hungry before..." He said whimpering. He leaned back and popped the vertebrae in his back before he yawned again.

She giggled. "I bet you'll be a little bigger than your father" she said with excitement.

He snickered as he looked up at the ceiling as he reverted to his human form. "I guess I can't transform in the house anymore" He joked.

She patted Toby's arm. "You can...just don't stand up in your therian form. Anyway, I found you a den that you can move into once you graduate. Your room is even big enough for you to relax in your lycaon form, and it's in Lake Oswego on the actual lakefront. I doubt there'd be a dorm big enough to fit you or Zoe" She said proudly.

He grinned before he looked at the floor troubled. "What about Todd? I promised I'd look after him" He asked.

She laughed and nudged him. "Hey, don't you forget about Bernie and all of us...You aren't the only one that can help Todd" She said.

He sighed rubbing his head groggily before his stomach growled again. "Hold up...are you saying that Zoe is going to be my roommate?" he asked.

She rolled her eyes. "Well, you'll have separate rooms, but yes, Bernie is helping pay rent" she said casually. She put her hand on her hip and smiled. "You didn't think I'd let you be completely on your own, did you?" she asked.

He smirked before he stood up, which his stretched out clothes suddenly dropped to the floor, and they all stared at his body. Nancy smiled. "Wow...You're going to make Sasha a very happy woman..." She said.

Toby looked down and finally realized he was nude, which he turned away blushing. Tom quickly pushed his wife out as he dared to not look back. "Need some privacy! Get out!!" he shouted before he slammed the door shut.

Nancy giggled. "Looks like he's got the family heirloom " She said.

Lilian blushed before she snarled at Nancy comment. "Nancy! How can you be so juvenile?" she reprimanded her.

Toby listened from the other side of the door blushing madly. His eye twitched rapidly at the subject matter of the conversation. He sighed and put his clothes on, which he found the advantages of spandex leggings and shorts as pants were difficult to fit him while he had such dramatic growth spurts. He walked out of his room and groaned feeling his hunger eating him alive.

Nancy nudged Tom in the gut. "Ask him!" she whispered.

He gulped looking towards Toby. "Well, Toby...I spoke to your mother earlier about rebuilding your old house back where it once was, and I was going to give it to you" he said timidly.

Toby stared at him for half a minute before he let out a heavy sigh. "Yea, that sounds good" he said as his mother set the food on the table, and his fangs glistened in the morning sunlight as he grinned. "Thanks..." he said before wolfing his meal.

She sighed with frustration looking towards her guests nervously. "Chill out Toby! Enjoy your food...You don't have to treat it like it's going to run away!" she said passive-aggressively. She smiled awkwardly to her guests, and she shot a glare at her feral son.

He looked up at her. "Are you sure? Cause I thought I heard is moo..." he joked before his eyes widened noticing her glare.

She sighed heavily as her guests were more amused than grossed out. "Show some sophistication around our guests will you? You are an Alpha male, and you need to work on your table skills. Now here is your fork and knife..." she said setting them down in front of him.

He scowled at her before he grinned at an idea that popped into his head. "You're joking right?" he asked as he carefully took the fork and knife looking at it as if it were foreign before he started shoveling the food down.

His mother finally lost her patience and clunked him upside the head with a spatula causing him to yelp. "That's not how you use your utensils, Toby!" she scolded him while waving the spatula at him.

He looked at her frightened and started eating slow while watching her carefully. She grinned then looked towards her guests who were snickering. "See I knew you could do it" she said.

"I say, this biscuit is most pleasing to my pallet, may I have some more Mother? And might I add that the scrambled eggs was most exquisite" Toby said making a perfect impression of an English upperclassmen.

She put her hand to her temple rubbing it vigorously letting out a heavy defeated sigh. "What am I going to do with you Toby?" she mumbled.

"What on earth do you mean by that mother?" He asked still doing his impression.

She laughed slightly. "I swear...You and your father are bunch of goofballs. Just eat your damn food before I clobber you!" she said.

He grinned. "Kay!" he said speaking nervously. He finished off breakfast looking at his mother very pleased. She saw the empty plate and his satisfaction, which the brought a smile to her face.

She laced her hands together and set them on the table. "Toby, listen hun, I need you to cheek on Todd to see how he's doing...I bet it was pretty rough on him without a fellow werewolf to console him" She said.

He nodded slowly. "Kay, but let me finish my..." He said before looking at the table with disappointment. He realized the huge chunk of Beef Jerky that was on the table magically vanished. Tom shifted his eyes looking guilty, and Toby glared at him. "Di'ja take my?" he asked.

Tom gulped holding out his hands and shaking his head. Toby walked up to Tom causing him to shiver with fear as Toby got into his face. Toby scowled pulling the jerky out of Tom's pocket protector on his shirt, and he violently tore a piece in front Tom's face. He growled munching on the jerky loudly.

"I was only playin'" Tom muttered.

Toby grinned. "That's right...you wouldn't be foolish to jack the alpha's food" he said before he looked back at his mother. "Welp, now that's taken care of..." He said patting his stomach. "...I'm going to go check on Todd" He said grinning.

He ran out the house and he noticed Todd sitting on the curb in the fetal position. Toby cocked his head and walked back into the house. "Did you know Todd is outside?" he asked his mother.

"Yea, he's been out there moping for 15 minutes now" Lilian said from the dining room.

Nancy nodded sipping some iced tea from the coffee table. Toby glared at them. "You didn't try to help him?" he asked.

Nancy smiled weakly. "It's best if you did. You're the one he trusts most...It would only be effective that you help him" she said as she sat her cup onto the table before she looked towards Lilian.

"I already tried...but he wouldn't talk" Lilian said walking into the living room.

"That poor boy...this must be all confusing to him. Once a human and now he has to deal with being a werewolf for the rest of his life. I really have pity for him. It isn't his fault. Maybe Toby can get through to him" Nancy said sipping more of her iced tea.

Toby sighed heavily. "Fine..." he said lowly. He headed out of the house.

Todd looked at Toby with anxiety as he came up to him. Toby sighed as he walked up behind Todd. "Hey how's life treating ya?" He asked. Todd sobbed, and Toby frowned sitting right beside him. "What happened?" he asked as if already knowing.

Todd whimpered. "I slept good, but I felt like my stomach was on fire. It hurt so much. I think I hurt Sasha." He said sounding upset.

Toby growled. "What did you do!!?" He yelled with a burst of rage.

Todd flinched cowered in fear raising his hands over him in self-preservation. "I almost choked her...I didn't mean to hurt her!!" He yelled.

Toby gulped realizing he had terrified Todd as the scent of urine filled the air, which he sighed heavily. "I forgive you...I know it's tough to adjust, but you are going to have to work extra hard on controlling your strength and your mind..." He said calmly. He still looked very troubled. "Is she okay?" he asked.

Todd looked up at him nervously. "I...I...I think so. Are you mad at me?" He asked.

Toby glared at him. "Damn right! You hurt my mate!! Just leave me alone!" He yelled. He darted off towards Sasha's house. He barged in and ran upstairs, and saw Sasha's parents by Sasha's side. Sasha looked up at him shaken but relieved to see him. "Are you okay Sasha?" He asked.

She smiling faintly and nodded slowly. "Yea, I'm okay. Todd just went berserk when I woke him up" She said in a shaky and hoarse voice. Her parents looked between worried, but tears welled up in her mother's eyes.

"Okay, well I guess he wolfed out. You fed him right?" He asked changing the subject.

Sasha nodded. "Ya, but...after this episode we're thinking about having Todd live with you. We have no idea how to take care of a werewolf let alone take one down. I mean...It took everything my dad had just to restrain him, and he was scared of being turned into one" She said.

Toby came up and sat beside her. "You sure? I mean he is your brother. This was just an accident. I'm sure that..." He said before Sasha interrupted.

"...No Toby...If he's with you, then we know he's safe and happy. I know you're the strongest Werewolf of them all, and you're also the sweetest, kindest, and gentlest one as well" She said putting her hand on his cheek looking deep into his eyes and smiling. "Maybe it will rub off on him" She said.

Toby looked at Sasha's parents unsure. "You're fine with this? " He asked.

They both nodded. "You're more qualified to do this more than anyone, Toby. You were able to track him down and bring him back safely. You know more about what's going on with him than any of us, and from what I hear from Sasha, you're pretty strong. I mean you dragged a whole entire football team 50 yards without breaking a sweat" Sasha's father said confidently.

"This is coming from a guy who had a shotgun pointed at my face" Toby said scowling suspiciously at Sasha's father.

Her father laughed. "What's wrong? Don't tell me that it will kill you, what kind of werewolf are you?" He asked.

Toby glared at him. "Even though we can survive being shot doesn't mean it still hurts!" He said coldly.

"Y'know, Toby does make a good point. I've seen Toby whine getting medication put on one of his wounds...like a puppy" Sasha added.

He cringed. "Cause that crap stings...thanks for reminding me Sasha!" He snapped in anguish. He rubbed the area on his abdomen where it once had a hole and whimpered.

She laughed nudging him playfully. "Poor Toby..." she teased.

He smiled happily. "Just don't do it again..." he said before he looked at her sternly. "So...how did you wake up Todd?" he asked curiously.

She looked at the ground. "I yanked his pillow out from under'em" she said knowing what she did was not the brightest idea.

He raised an eyebrow. "Well...um...that was a very bad move on your part. I know you're his sister but...well...given the circumstances with what happened to him. You got off lucky. We aren't that playful if we are extremely stressed out and hungry. It's not a surprise why he was so...aggressive" he said before he cleared his throat. "It still doesn't give him the excuse to throw a temper tantrum" he remarked.

Makita sat beside Toby looking up at him with her ears flattened against her head. "Is Todd alright?" she asked.

He looked down at her and smiled. "Don't worry...he'll be fine. Why won't you go talk to him and give him some company?" he said ruffling Makita's ears.

"Okay" She said wagged her tail happily. She got up and left the room. Sasha's parents were dumbfounded seeing their daughter's boyfriend could carry a conversation with their dog.

He looked back at Sasha. "My clan has gotten me a den in Lake Oswego for college, so I'm moving after I graduate. I'm just telling you this because if you want me to solely take care of Todd he'll have to move with me" He said before he looked towards her parents. "I'm thinking that I'll have enough time to get him adjusted by then. Would you be comfortable in having him come back?" he asked.

Sasha's parents looked at him strangely at his choice in words. "Alright...We'll have him come back once he's gotten better" Sasha's mother said.

He smiled warmly. "I don't want to separate you from him completely. I know how important a pack is, and this should only be a temporary thing" He said.

Sasha's parents continued to look at him oddly. Sasha laughed. "He means that he knows how much you want to see your baby, and that he knows how important family is..." She said happily.

He nodded. "Yea, what she said" He said. She stroked her chin concentrating intensely on him, which he leaned away from her. "What?" he asked looking at her oddly.

"Something is different about you..." She muttered before she grabbed his arm and felt up his bicep, tricep, and his deltoid, then moving towards his pectorals. Toby flinched and pushed her hand away blushing madly. "...You've kind of gotten bigger didn't you?" she asked grinning with approval.

She leaned into Toby's chest and rested her head into his shoulder. Her parents looked at the puppy love seeming okay with Toby wrapping an arm around her. Toby murred softly as her parents smiled knowing where this relationship was going and how it will play out.

"So, I see my daughter is in love with a werewolf how quaint" Sasha's father said crossing his arms over his chest.

Sasha blushed and dislodged from Toby's embrace. He whimpered with disappointment as he was enjoying their cuddle. "Dad!" she yelled in embarrassment.

Toby looked at the ground unsure what they were going to do, so he pretended that he was not there. Sasha's father sighed heavily before he looked towards Toby curiously. "So do you have the same problem as Todd is having?" He asked.

Toby looked at him oddly as he got out from spacing out. "Huh?" he muttered.

"The food thing..." Sasha's father said.

"Oh...well..." Toby muttered. He laughed a little. "I try not to starve myself, if you know what I mean. Though I have had my moments where I get cranky, but I only retaliate never instigate. I have enough resolve to take things until someone strikes me. It only happens briefly where I lose my cool. If my mind is set on something I have more power over it. Rest will strengthen your mind, and food will tame the beast. Sasha tames the madness that's inside me though" he said.

Sasha blushed and rubbed her shoulder. "He's much more behaved" she said.

He sighed. "After my father was killed, I felt a bit different, like a piece of me was missing or broken, and something leaked out in the process. I've been a lot more at peace in the past couple of months, and that's all thanks to your daughter" He said.

She cuddled up next to him again, and her father looked between the two. "So what you're saying is...Sasha brings balance to you, correct?" He asked.

Toby gritted his teeth. "Sort of...there's more to it than that" He said. Toby sighed looking towards the living room. "Come out! I know you are there Todd" He said.

Todd stood up from behind the couch. "Oh you're good" Todd muttered.

Sasha's father was a little shocked then chuckled. "Well nothing surprises you does it my boy?" He asked patting Toby's shoulder. Toby looked at Sasha's father's arm which had a slight cut on it, and he noticed Toby looking at it before he hid his arm around his back nervously.

Sasha fidgeted with her fingers not noticing what fate her father had. "So...It's alright to be with Toby?" She asked sheepishly.

Her father nodded. "Of course, just don't get knocked up" He said beginning to sound panicked.

Toby flinched. "Knocked up? Um...wow..." he muttered. Sasha blushed brightly, and he looked at her father worried. "Are you alright?" he asked.

Her father was terrified with his question. "I'm fine!" he shouted

Toby looked towards Todd and frowned. "Todd...do you lick your paws when you eat?" he asked.

Todd looked at him oddly and nodded, which Toby looked towards the father. The father began to sweat bullets as Sasha looked between them. "What's going on?" she asked before she looked towards Toby. "What are you getting at?" she asked.

Toby sighed. "Well...If you lick your paws, and you scratch someone bad enough to draw blood...you can pass on lycanthropy that way" he said.

Sasha looked towards her father worried. "You didn't get scratched did you?" she asked.

Her father went catatonic, and Todd began to panic. "I...I...I didn't know!" he shouted.

Toby looked at the father's wound, and he quickly got up and ran to his room. Toby looked at Sasha and sighed heavily. "Well...there's a chance but keep an eye on him" he said.

She nodded slowly before she looked towards her brother annoyed. "Wash your hands after you eat!" she shouted.

Todd groaned. "You mean I have to wash them before and after!?" he muttered.

Toby shrugged. "Either that or just don't lick your figgen paws, dude!" he said firmly. He looked towards Sasha happily. "I'll give you a ride to school" he said.

She smiled widely. "Oh, well thank you! I'll get ready right now" she said before she headed over to the door stopping and looked at him smiling.

He smiled back. "Ich liebe dich (I Love you)" he said happily as he got up to walk out the door with her.

She giggled. "Ich liebe dich auch (I love you too)" She said kissing him on the cheek.

He gasped. "Du sprechen Deutsch auch? (You speak German too?)" He asked.

She blushed. "Huh?" She muttered.

He laughed. "Internet?" He asked.

She nodded. "I used an app to translate a response" she said smirking as they walked down the hallway. He made his way outside while she got ready.

A Washington County Sheriff squad car pulled up in front of the house, and Bernie walked out, which he walked around to the trunk before he pulled out huge box. He carried it over to Toby and dropped it at his feet.

Toby looked up at him oddly. "What's with the box?" he asked.

Bernie smirked at him. "Training weights...over a hundred pounds of it. Listen things have become grown worse in the past twenty-four hours. I'm going to have you and Zoe pick up your training" he said before he looked at Sasha. "The bodies that we found...they have a Nordic rune symbols carved on their foreheads, and it turns out that Ian wants to invoke Ragnarok" he said. He looked back at Toby. "There's more...The messages all over the metro area were all written in the victims' own blood. The thralls being made are teens...just like he used to do on Hayden Island" he said as he pulled out his phone to show Toby the pictures.

Toby looked at the markings on the foreheads. "What does is say?" he asked.

Bernie sighed. "I looked online and the Dagaz symbol used here means something along the lines of Revelation, though the other interpretations are not very good either" he said.

Toby cringed. "What do the humans know?" he asked.

Bernie sighed. "Well...they are calling Ian and his comrades the Ragnarok Terrorists, and that's all they know" he said. He looked at Sasha before he entered his squad car, and he backed out of the alley.

Toby frowned as he watched Bernie drive off. He opened the box, and in it were ankle and wrist bands as well as a vest. The vest held four bags of fifty pound weights; the ankle and wrist bands weighed twenty pounds each. He sighed as he put them on, and Sasha curiously walked up to him.

"What is with all these weights?" she asked.

He frowned. "Uh, well...it's for sparring with Zoe" he said nervously.

She looked at him oddly before she smiled cheerfully. "Can I watch you two train then?" she asked.

Toby began removing the weights and chuckled. "Yea sure, why not? Just finds a sheltered place. I guarantee there will be debris and other crap flying around, maybe a car or two" He joked.

He looked back as Nancy and Tom left his house. Tom and Nancy looked Todd walking down the driveway, which Tom walked up to him curiously. Todd looked up at him confused as Tom sniffed around Todd's head. "So this boy is a thrall, eh? He sure reeks of it" He said before he playfully ruffled the boy's head.

Todd yelped running over to hide behind Toby's leg. He looked up at Toby, and Toby sighed. "You're so brave Todd" Toby said sarcastically.

Toby pushed Todd out in the open before he walked back to his house to retrieve his backpack. Sasha watched Todd run behind her, and Nancy giggled. "Will you stop bugging the pup!? You're frightening him" Nancy said.

Sasha smiled at her little brother and then laughed at him. "Come on Puddles" she teased as she escorted him over to Lilian as she walked out the door.

She smiled at them as they came over. "Todd, your parents have decided to have you stay with us for now...until we get you settled into being a werewolf. I'm going to take you to school okay?" she said.

He nodded reluctantly before his sister squeezed his hand. "Hey! It's going to be okay" she said as Toby came out with is backpack and longboard. She looked up at him and smiled. "Isn't that right?" she asked.

He set his longboard down, before he looked up at them oddly. "Huh? Oh, yea" he said obviously focused on something else. "We're going to be late" he mentioned.

His mother nodded. "Alright! You two get going!" she told them as she gently pushed Sasha towards him. "Stay out of trouble!" she shouted waving them off.

Sasha climbed onto his longboard, and Toby took off. "Too fast! Too fast!" she shouted yanking back on his backpack. He slowed down, and she shifted her feet. "Man...I almost lost it" she said laughing to herself. She blushed as tried adjusting her bra, which she froze as he looked back at her. "What?" she asked.

He laughed. "What? Were your puppies about to fall out?" he teased.

She looked her eyes at him. "No! It's...um...the wire just digs into my armpit!" she protested.

He snickered. "Then just get a bigger bra" he said plainly.

She growled at him. "You don't understand! They don't make bigger bras, Toby! I just got this bra 3 months ago!" she raised her voice before she gritted her teeth. "I can't afford custom ones" she said lowly.

He slowed down and thought for a moment. "Have you told your mom?" he asked.

She grimaced. "I don't want to freak her out...can we just drop it?" she asked before she let out a weary sigh. "It's not too bad okay? You have worse things to worry about than my bras not fitting me anymore" she said.

He sighed heavily. "If it gets too bad, I'll help you. I have a job you know" she said.

She smiled. "Thanks...but...I can deal with it for now" she said.

He cleared his throat. "I was wondering why you've been making me go slower the past couple weeks" he said, but he noticed a few other things that he just would have to keep to himself. He blushed. "I'm sorry for being a jerk about it...I just didn't know" he said.

She frowned feeling bad. "No...I was having fun...really!" she said before she reached up to pat his bicep. "I've always loved your dominance" she said.

He thought about it before he cleared his throat. "Well...I was still insensitive" he muttered before she laughed at him.

She shook her head happily before she yanked on his backpack. "Go faster!" she demanded, which he did as she said only holding back a little keeping her condition in mind.

Later that day during the big rivalry game, Sasha was in the dressing room wrapping bandaging around her chest trying to reduce the size of her bust. She managed to get her uniform on as the instructor came over to check on her. They looked at each other, but nothing was said as they both walked through the halls to the football field.

She looked around and saw Toby's Mom with Zoe's parents, and she grinned when she saw her parents eclipsed by Bernie, the seven foot three inch werewolf sheriff. They were trying to look around the big guy before Yvonne nudged him, and he scooted over for them. A man was holding up a sign that said, "The National Title Game! #DefactoNatty"

She made her way to the sidelines, and they began twirling their flags. "Ladies and Gentlemen! Introducing the perfect second ranked in the nation 8-0, Tigard Tigers!" the announcer shouted. She looked towards the field as the Tigard football team took to the field. They were dressed in green with black tiger stripe uniforms, and their helmets were black with the two green T's shaped like fangs. Their Quarterback was noticeably more built than the others as he walked passed them. He looked towards her and gave her a look before heading over to the bench. She did not pay much mind to him as he was nine inches shorter than her boyfriend, and he had twice the ego.

She shivered nervously sensing something different about the player, which she thought back on the conversations between Zoe and Toby. "And now! Here comes your perfect 8-0 Top ranked in the nation Timberwolves!" the announcer shouted with much enthusiasm before he added a sound byte of a wolf howl. The team ran out wearing grey uniforms fur designs on their shoulder pads. Their helmet were blood red with a black decal of a wolf, which the eyes and fangs used the red relief of the helmet.

Wolfie rode on the back of a motorcycle while holding onto an oversized flag of the superimposed double-t school insignia, which Toby and Zoe running not far behind through the cloud of fog shot from the carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. The crowd roared as two media drones flew overhead filming the coin toss with Toby, Zoe, and the Tigard Quarterback. To Sasha's surprise, they seemed to be paling around, and the Quarterback pointed towards her before Toby jabbed his finger into the Quarterback's chest pad. The crowd went into a frenzy as the referee separated them. Olivia stared at the squabble, and she held her hand up to her face trying to hide her shock.

Zoe shook her head at them as the referee patted Toby and the Quarterback's shoulder pad before he flipped the coin. Sasha was nudged by Barbra, and she leaned over. "What just happened?" she asked.

Sasha frowned. "I think Toby's playing ticked off" she said.

Barbra grinned. "Oh, boy! This is going to be interesting!" she shouted.

As the game started, the Quarterback copied similar plays on the opening kickoff. Zoe had to kneel in her end zone as the Quarterback playing gunner ran at her like a rampaging bull. Sasha gasped realizing her hunch on the Quarterback being a werewolf was spot on!. "And it's a touchback!?" the announcer shouted sounding very perplexed.

As Toby took the field with Zoe, they waved their hands about with the coach. When they lined up, Zoe was at a tight end position, and the werewolf played cornerback position. As the ball was snapped, Toby ran towards Zoe. She kept a five yard distance from him, and just as the werewolf got within ten feet from him, Toby flipped the ball backwards to Zoe before he delivered a brutal crunch into the werewolf's chest as Zoe ran to the sidelines turning the corner. The crowd cringed at the sound, and Zoe leaped up trying to reach the ball out towards the goal line before she got foiled being pushed out of bounds by the safety just three yards short of the end zone.

Toby helped up the werewolf and they both slapped each other on the pads before running down to where the play was whistled dead. "And it's a 77 yard reception by Zoe!" the announcer shouted.

Sasha stared at the Safety never seeing anyone jump as high as Toby or Zoe. "Oh my gosh!" she muttered.

Barbra looked at her oddly. "What's wrong?" she asked.

Sasha gulped. "Um...they copied our team" she muttered.

Barbra shook her head. "Dirty cheats!" she shouted.

Their next play Zoe took the snap, and Toby ran into the end zone drawing the safety on him. Zoe attempted to jump over the pile, and she quickly tossed the ball to a smaller player by the other corner of the end zone. Zoe soon was pushed back landing on her side hard as the small receiver caught the ball. The receiver stared at the ball in his hands in shock before he looked towards the referee holding up his hands up.

"Touchdown! 3 yard shuffle pass to Percy!" The announcer said.

Sasha stood up and cheered. "Go Percy!" she shouted.

Zoe and Toby started crowding Percy before Zoe playfully swatted him in the pads so hard that he flew back onto his back. Percy rolled around on the ground like a turtle before Toby and Zoe helped him up.

Toby and Zoe looked up at the Coach holding up two fingers, which they yanked Percy from leaving the field. Sasha watched the ball get snapped, and Toby ran it towards the goal line. He was grabbed by the arm, and he stretched his other arm out for the goal. The referees held up their hands, and the crowd went ballistic. "The two point conversion is good!" the announcer shouted.

The head referee ran out to the center of the field turning on the mic. "The ruling on the field that the ball crossed the goal line before the player was down! The play is under further review!" the referee told the crowd.

Sasha looked towards Barbra and grinned. "It's a good thing Toby grew a couple inches this past week" she said.

Barbra stroked her chin. "I was wondering why Toby was looking so different" she muttered.

Sasha grinned. "Yea, he's gotten a little hunkier too. That's probably why you didn't notice" she added.

Barbra grinned. "You look a little different too" she said as she looked her over. "You're awfully lucky. I wish I could gain some weight in my fun places. The only place it seems to go for me is straight to my belly" she said.

Sasha blushed and smiled faintly. "Well...it's kind of a curse. All the guys stare at me now" she said timidly.

Barbra snickered. "Oh, so you think that fight was started over you?" she asked.

Sasha nodded before she looked back onto the field. "Toby's gotten really protective over me...more than usual" she said.

Barbra raised an eyebrow. "Did this all start when Olivia tried to rip the crown from your head?" she asked. Sasha nodded and smiled. "Oh man, and you don't think he's being too overbearing?" she asked.

A big smiled crept upon her lips as she shook her head. "Nah, he knows his boundaries. I feel like we understand each other" Sasha said before she looked at her boyfriend with romance in her eyes. "He's very good to me" she trailed off.

Her friend looked over at him and bit her lip having her own desire for him as he got pummeled by his teammates. "Well that's good" she said.

The referee came back out onto the field and turned his mic back on. "After review, the ruling on the field is confirmed! The two point conversion is good!" he shouted before he turned off his mic and went to the sidelines.

The game went back and forth as both coaches pulled their werewolves from the defense leaving a halftime score of 72-67 favoring Tigard. The defense on either side was very exhausted, and they watched the coach go over plays with their respective werewolf players. They were fearful of being scolded for not putting up much of a resistance, but they had no idea that their opponents had werewolves on their team.

The quarterback gave Olivia a flirtatious growl as he walked passed her as they retook the field. Sasha nudged Toby as they crossed paths. "Hey...What's going on? What was that fight all about?" she asked.

He cocked his head. "What fight?" he asked before he chuckled after he remembered. "Oh, that...Van and I were just playing. He was just telling me that you were quite the looker" he said.

"He said you had a nice set of ass and titties, and Toby chewed his ass out" Zoe interrupted as she walked up. She smiled at Sasha. "I can't believe how Percy keeps ending up at the right place at the right time!" she said before she looked towards Percy sitting by himself on the bench. She frowned. "Jez, that guy needs to get pumped up! He's just scored a touchdown, and he's just sitting there not being a part of the team" she muttered as she placed a hand on her hip.

They both looked over at him, and Toby scratched his head. "He's new, and you know how shy he is" he mentioned.

"We're just going to have to fix that" She muttered before she left them to go beat on Percy's pads.

Sasha watched with amusement as she huddled up to Toby happily. "Is it just me, or does Zoe seem get along with Percy very well?" she muttered.

He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know...I thought she was just bossing him around" he muttered.

She shook her head at him before patted him on the chest pads. "Win this for me! Okay?" she told him before pulled him down lifting his helmet to sneak a quick kiss.

She walked away just as the players set up for the kick off. The games continued to be close, but now there was only thirty seconds left in the fourth quarter, and the score was now 144-131 favoring Tigard. This was when the werewolves came back on the field, and the crowd was very anxious.

Tigard kicked off, and Zoe caught the ball with Van running towards her. Toby began to run towards the sidelines, and she quickly tossed the ball back to him. Toby caught it and took off with cheetah speed. As the other werewolf tried to ram him, he hurdled him leaving the werewolf to fly into the bench. The crowd roared as Toby ran into the end zone with twenty seconds left, which the crowd cheered so loud the announcer over the speaker could not be heard. They kicked a PAT and the score was now 144-138 favoring Tigard.

When Tualatin kicked off, they lined up strangely, and before the couch could call time out, they performed an onside kick. The ball flew low, and bounced off the ground before Zoe pounced on the ball once it traveled ten yards. The crowd was ecstatic as the referees blew the whistle and signaled that it was Tualatin's possession still.

Sasha clenched her hands together, as the Zoe got the snap. She ran around trying to milk the clock before she got backed into her own end zone. She heaved the ball bouncing off a media drone and landing into Toby's arms as he turned to jump up. He reached out and the ball hit the pylon in the corner of the other end zone as he was being tackled by the safety. The crowd howled as they kicked another PAT, which the score was now 145-144 favoring Tualatin with eight seconds left.

They kicked off, and Toby ran with Zoe to rush Van. Van tried to ditch the ball to the other werewolf, but Toby tipped the ball. The ball sailed back towards the end zone, and flipped the ball up with his foot before it touched the ground. He caught the ball and ran into their end zone as the clock ran to zero. Wolfie ran up to him and jumped on top of him slapping at his helmet as the students started to rush the field. Sasha looked over at the scoreboard which shown her school's win, 151-144, and she ran onto the field with the students.

She huggled him in the end zone after he got out of the dog pile of students, and she patted him on the chest. "You did it! You did it!" she cheered giggling happily.

Van approached them, and he held his hand out. "Dude! How did you manage to catch that!?" he shouted in disbelief.

Toby slapped him a five, and he winked at him. "I play soccer remember?" he answered with a wide grin.

The other werewolf came over and slapped Toby on the back. "Hey! You didn't need to catch it!" he joked.

Van snickered. "Highlight reel!" he shouted before he looked over to Olivia on the sideline with her arms crossed over her chest. "I'm going to get that shewolf's number!" he told his buddy. He wondered over to Olivia, and he removed his helmet.

Olivia looked at him confused as he gave her very alluring eyes. She lowered her arms and rubbed her shoulder blushing, and she averted her gaze looking at the ground timidly. She looked back up at him briefly and smiled faintly as Van circled around her looking her over. Sasha and Zoe snickered at the courting ritual.

Van grinned. "Damn girl! You're looking fine!" he said.

She looked towards the others nervously before she gulped. "Um, who are you?" she asked.

He snickered. "My name is Van Strong, and you are?" he asked.

She smiled. "My name is Olivia" she said before she pulled her phone out from her purse. "Just send a text to your phone. I'll save your number...okay big guy?" she asked.

Zoe and Sasha then looked towards Toby who was mugged by a mob of media. His couch forced his way up to him, and he grabbed Toby's shoulder pad jerking it around. "Get dressed down! I'll handle this!" he shouted. Toby nodded and ran off before the coach looked back at the interviewers sighing heavily.

Zoe and Sasha followed behind and went to change back into their normal clothes. They later caught up with each other in the parking lot where all their parents were gathered around him. Bernie looked up at Zoe and waved her over, and Sasha's parents looked up at her.

She frowned and hurried over leaving Sasha behind. "What's up?" she asked him.

Her father patted her shoulder. "Would you mind bringing Todd along with you when you start your training?" she asked.

She raised an eyebrow. "Why? Wouldn't it be a little dangerous for a pup being anywhere near us?" she asked.

Her father grinned. "I was thinking maybe raising the stakes would make things more applicable for you two. You aren't always going to be fighting mono y mono...there will be cases where there are many innocent bystanders" he said.

Nathan looked at him nervously but said nothing. Sasha looked between them overhearing the conversation. "I'm going with you guys too..." she volunteered.

Her father looked at her annoyed before Bernie grinned. "Excellent" he said before he slapped her father's shoulder. "Relax, we're using pads and mock weapons. They aren't in any real danger" he said.

Her father sighed heavily. "Alright" he said apprehensively.

She slid underneath Toby's arm and huddled up to him. "You were awesome, Toby" she said before Zoe grinned eagerly.

Yvonne looked towards her daughter amused. "I saw you picking on that Percy kid a lot...did you find yourself a new date, hun?" she asked.

She looked at her and rolled her eyes. "Tch, He's too afraid to ask the Amazonian warrior goddess out!" she said.

Her mother snickered. "You asked Toby out" she teased.

She looked towards Toby and shrugged. "Toby's too dense to ask a girl out without help" she said before she sighed lowly. "We were so young..." she muttered.

Toby scowled at her and crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm not that dense!" he protested.

His mother coughed abruptly then cleared her throat. "Um, let's get going. I think the traffic has cleared up by now" she said.

Yvonne looked to her phone and laughed. "We got to get back anyway...Steele had a diaper explosion, and Terry's stressing out over the boys" she said. Bernie shook his head, and Zoe snickered.

Sasha at them oddly, but she laughed remembering that Zoe's parents named their youngest son after Toby's father. "Better help him out!" she shouted.

They soon parted ways, which Sasha rode with Toby on the way home, and her parents followed behind. Toby wrapped an arm around her as she shivered in the back of the car. She looked up at him and frowned. "Hey, do you think my dad will be okay?" she asked.

He looked back at her and shrugged. "You mean is he going to be a werewolf or not?" he asked. She scowled at him, and he gulped. "Um...I don't know. We'll just have to find out" he said.

His mother looked at them through her rear view mirror. "Your dad it going to be fine" she said.

Sasha frowned. "So what exactly were y'all talking about then?" she asked.

His mother paused as she pulled into the driveway. "We were talking about pups mostly..." she said before she frowned. "...I doubt that cut would be enough anyway" she muttered.
