Back to the future

Sitting in this house and thinking of the past is not my idea of passing the time, but it happens. I am who I am. Champion, don't feel like one. Dictators hitman, closer to the truth. Looking outside and seeing families go about their lives like my world doesn't exist, its slowly turning me sour to the world. And to anyone who tries to be allies, they get the cold shoulder after the ones I've had. Partners, I'm more lenient about, since I still have certain needs to fill. My recent partner, things are slow, but with patience brings its rewards. I don't even trust myself with having more kids, but I've still got more to tell before I get there in the story. Getting up, i walk over to the tv and check the news, the weather report droning on. Hearing a buzz, I turn to my phone and check the screen. Snatching it up and rushing out the door, I read the message. dad, you better get to your hide away, scanners are picking up a large force moving in the area. No idea how long till they find what they want. Jumping on my bike, I gun the engine before my helmet appears on my head, the visor tinted red with my emotions.

Sliding to a stop at the façade of my hide away, I jump off and run towards a screen in the office, initiating an area scan. 13 dots show up several streets away, and I move towards my garage, wings unfurled and flames licking along the surface. Looking around I spot my companion and start directing her to my garage and the small building inside, snatching up a few gadgets including an earpiece and my glasses, the HUD activating the tracker and the glass polarizes over, blocking any view from the outside. Grabbing a sword and dagger set I walk out, the connection in my earpiece snapping into focus and I hear two voices chatting until I clear my throat. "This isn't time for chatting. Poppy, any change in position?" there's slight pause and my tracker updates. "not that I can see. But there's a big target coming in, subterranean by the look of it. I'd say this isn't a social call" poppy responds, her childish voice taking on a serious tone. I smirk, when is it ever a social call. Turning my attention to the tracker, I follow the map to a rooftop overlooking the courtyard that's full of activity. Tonguing the talk button, I bring the mic closer, "Kris, log into my camera, tag them for poppy to scan. I want everything. Affiliation, weapons, down to the strength of their power". Poppy responds "already done. I've been scanning them from a house camera across the yard. They aren't anything that I can gauge with regards to power, but they aren't on par with you. As for weapons, they don't have any firearms. Mostly daggers and swords, one with a war hammer." I grin, picking out the largest "im guessing him?". "yes, but be careful. I don't like being masked from power scanning". Stepping from the roof I land noiselessly behind a hedge, while letting my energy flow, becoming my Kuro form. Grinning maliciously, I step from behind the hedge and summon black swords into my hands, walking over casually. "anyone ever tell you why demons keep dying who set up shop? I'll give you a quick run down of why" bringing my swords up, I run through the nearest guy, then pull my swords out and block a strike, pushing it away and cutting them down. In his time, the large guy has come over and started swinging at me. Ducking the swing, I bring a sword up through his chin, putting him down, and finish off the rest easily enough. Dropping my form I return to normal and touch the mic. "poppy, where's the big guy you mentioned?". I hear nothing but static. "Poppy, Kris. You there?" still nothing. Sheathing my blades I start running back to a rooftop, jumping up, my wings whip out catching the air and I glide over to the factory, watching for anything unusual. Suddenly, my head is wracked with pain and memories start spilling forth.
