Hunting Accident

The hunter stalked through the forest, looking for his prey. If he didn't finish his job today he would not get paid. This was the first time he had ever had trouble tracking bears. They were his main prey and to be outsmarted by one was unconscionable, and he simply refused to believe it.

His boss's orders were clear enough, "Either that bear goes or you do." The farmer's face had been beet red with anger as he held up his dead bird. "I have shot that thing more times than I can count, I want it gone or you are fired."

"Yes, sir," the hunter replied without a moment's hesitation.

Now here he was in woods looking for this creature. The tracks were easy enough to follow but they seemed to go in circles and he began to notice landmarks that he had seen when he first found the tracks.

A sudden noise caused him to stop, it had sounded like crackling leaves, aiming his gun in the direction the noise had come from he waited, and waited. The sound did not come again, "Damn," he muttered and continued his trek.

The sun was setting behind the trees and he was losing daylight quickly. He had to find this damn thing or else. If he didn't he would be fired and he would have no extra money to buy his toiletries, little did he know he would have no need of the money soon enough.

The hunter had just about given up when he heard another noise coming from behind a stand of trees. He cautiously crept up to the stand and peered through. On the other side was a clearing he did not remember seeing before.

After making sure the coast was clear he stepped into the clearing and waved his gun around looking for any sign of movement. He continued walking toward the other end of the clearing, when suddenly he tripped.

The hunter sprawled head over heels, losing his gun in the process. He came to rest in some sort of red liquid. Looking around he noticed that where he found himself was strange, he was still in the clearing BUT a white circle had been placed directly in the center with oddly shaped mountains jutting from it.

Looking around wildly the hunter tried to glimpse the source of the crashing, and at the same time surmise how he had drawn the conclusion that the booms that reached his ears were in fact footfalls. He listened momentarily, his suspicions confirmed; they were too evenly spaced to be anything other than massive, earthshaking footsteps.

What came crashing and crunching through the trees toward him was mind boggling. It was unbelievably massive, covered in brow fur and looked like a man but with a bear's head, tail and paws where his feet should have been.

Only then did the hunter realize just where he was, on an enormous plate. From the look of it he was on a piece of bread, and the red fluid he was in seemed to be ketchup. He began to struggle and try to get out but the thick goo held him fast. The closer the monster came the more he struggled. As the creature drew near he began to scream, a scream loud enough to wake the dead but not get the attention of the macro coming toward him

The bear stopped just feet from him and plopped his massive rear down on the ground causing the earth to shift under the sudden shift in weight. The hunter began to shiver as he watched the macro load up his other piece of bread with gigantic trimmings, then topped it off with the piece of bread he was on, laying him on top.

No longer seeing the creature was no comfort, in fact it was worse. He had no idea what the creature was about to do until he felt himself rising into the air. The shivering man felt his stomach drop as the rest of his body flew upwards at scary speeds, and stopped with a jolt.

Hearing nothing for a moment, the hunter became puzzled until he felt himself moving again, and then suddenly stopping again. The hunter was confused as to his current location until he heard a SNAP as the bear's teeth closed.

The hunter began shivering in earnest now as he felt the bear's probing tongue begin to separate the mouthful of food. He felt the tongue come across him, and this gave him a glimmer of hope, would the bear feel him and save him? Certainly he couldn't mistake a human body for a part of sandwich trimmings. To the man's dismay the tongue continued over him not even slowing down. Then the teeth began to move, crunching and compacting. The hunter moved away as best he could and luckily was missed by the sharp fangs that adorned his current home.

After a short time he felt the tongue flip up sending him and the now compacted food in to the awaiting gut. The throat gripped him tightly, squeezing the air from his lungs as he traveled its length.

When he exited the sphincter at the bottom he was deposited into a warm liquid. He failed to realize his current circumstance until the burning started; his clothes melted quickly leaving him with no protection against the acidic juices.

As his skin began to melt from his bones he could only sit and stare at his rapidly dissolving body. At first the pain was not bad, being blocked by disbelief. Once that emotion faded, the pain set in with a vengeance. He began to scream, blood-curdling screams that would have turned any sane man crazy and any crazy man into raving lunatic.

His screams continued as more and more of him was dissolved into nutrients for this massive creature. After his legs had completely been eaten away, the sweet black oblivion claimed him and he felt no more.
