Sorry if this is a little raw, my first writing prompt in a while.

No editing, no review, just a quick jaunt in a kinda-naughty magical act.

Please, feel free to drop some feedback, it motivates and drives this dragon to perform more!

Dinner and a Show

By DatDandyDragon

A thunderous applause erupted in the dining hall as the curtain rose, revealing a dark, empty stage. The lights cut as a spotlight shown, scattering through the audience before working its way to the center of the entertainment, smoke beginning to pour from the wooden platform. A strong wind blew and with a flash of light, the evenings entertainer appeared. An average height dragon stood within the spotlight, his blue scales shined through his white formal apparel. Lowering his hat, revealing his small horns protruding from a tuft of hair, moving it to cover his face with a boisterous laugh, the top flew open and confetti flew towards the audience.

"Ladies and gentlemen, those of scaled, and those of fur, I welcome you to a show most spectacular. My stage name is Blue, going off my scale's hue, and tonight you're in for a treat, numerous acts of magic and feat."

Wish a flick of his wrist, appeared from his hat, shooting upwards and catching it with flair, the dragon revealed the cloth it to the audience. Flashing a toothy grin, as if the cloth was floating, he would lay it flat as if it were a cloth atop a table, following up with a click of his heel, four legs would drop and hold up the whimsical fabric.

"Now, this part of the act requires the audience's participation, now please be quick young man, no hesitation." Outreaching with a hand and pointing with a digit, the spotlight followed towards his marked guest, a young fox sitting alone at a table near the rear.

"Yes, you my friend, you must hurry. Don't hesitate, or worry." Words flowing around the fox as if waking him from a nap, the fur would snap his senses and climb from his seat, making his way towards the stage through the crowd giving him an applause.

Stumbling up the steps, the fox felt an urgent need to reach the side of the dragon, even tripping as he reached the top only to be caught by the magician in white.

"Now when I said don't worry, I didn't mean for you to scurry." Another toothy grin broke along his face, as he helped his new assistant up onto his feet. A difficult task for the fox, as every word only lulled him more so into a state of relaxation, wobbling a bit as he tried to stand at the magician's side.

"Now assistant, why don't you give them a bow, I'm sure this next trick will leave them in a state of wow." Once again, the words resonated almost hypnotically, as the fox laid an arm across his midsection, and bowed, making sure to point towards every corner of the room while the trick was being set up.

From his hat the dragon produced another square, this one of what appeared to be red-painted wood, holding it up and revealing both sides to the audience, before placing it on the floor, where he began to peel at it. Pulling open the square, doubling its size, then again, and again, and again...

Eventually there stood, the dragon, the fox, and a giant red box.

"Now, if my delectable assistant would step inside, we're in for a wild ride." Opening the box would reveal nothing out of the ordinary, just a plain red compartment with what appeared to be a velvet plush interior. The fox would glance inside, then up at the dragon with a smile and nod, before stepping into the chamber, turning to face the audience once more with a wave.

Taking a bow one more time, the dragon would slowly shut the door, running his claws along the edges as if sealing it. Once he finished tracing the design of the box, he would reach out in a bear-hug gesture and as if magic, fold it in half. Then, his claws moved to the top, and with a jump, he pressed down, folding it once more. Again and again the dragon repeated the process, the box dwindling every time until it was the size of the miniature piece of red wood he pulled from his hat at the start of the trick. Showing the square to the audience and taking a bow, the dragon rests his hat atop the table that stood at his side, and bent backwards, letting his maw part, saliva glistening between his fangs.

With a toss in the air, the box flew upwards, before gravity caught it and brought it into the dragon's awaiting maw, tickling the back of his throat and traveling into his gullet with an audible gulp. A small bulge traveling down his slick neck and disappearing into his collar, as the audience stood there awestruck.

Regaining his senses, the magician would stand up and take a bow, letting his maw hang wide to show nothing resided within, before giving the table a quick tap. When his claw struck, out from his hat flew the red square once again, and with that, the audience erupted into applause.

Bowing and basking in the lavish, the dragon outreached his claw, pointing to where the fox once sat. "Please, give another round to out lavish guest, who went through with this trick at his best."

There in the seat, sat the fox, waving to the audience as the light shown on him. Once more, the crowd erupted in a thunderous roar, their clapping echoing throughout the hall with more fervor, even loud enough to awaken the fox from his daze.

Not the one that sat in the chair, but the one that sat in the churning gut of the dragon, his senses finally regained as the quivering chamber of flesh around him shook with the magician's laughter.

His nose burned, ears assaulted with the heartbeat above, and the applause outside. Moving his furred paws to his ears in instinct to try and drown out the noise, he realized they were coated in some sort of thick liquid. Tingling at his flesh through his matted fur, the fox began to panic. Unable to see, trying to stand up with no avail as trying to struggle ended in him slipping against the walls and into a pool of this acidic liquid.

Puffing his cheeks, and letting out a burp, the dragon blushed and had to apologize to the audience in the middle of his next trick, letting a claw move to his clothed belly and coax it to quiet down with a rub, knowing full well the hypnotic words of his must finally be wearing off with his prey awakening. The trick was so simple, scanning the streets for an average looking fur of the common variety, and hiding them in the back as he scanned the tables for a guest alone that resembled them.

Giving a bow in the audience, and a wave to his planted fox in the rear, the show continued, quite enjoyable for all in the hall, save for the fox churning away.

Dinner and a show.
