Jessica was someone who traveled quite frequently. She worked full time, but was always able to make time each month to make a trip out to somewhere for a weekend. She traveled all around the world, from Europe, to Asia, even Antarctica. More often than not she was her own tour guide. Jessica enjoyed having the freedom to discover cities, villages, and buildings all on her own, no path she had to follow.

One of the things she always wanted to do but wouldn't fit this style was an African Safari. It would be cool to see all the wildlife out there, but a strict path had to be followed in order to ensure the safety of everyone on the safari. She went to some of the biggest zoos but that wasn't quite as fulfilling. She wanted to be face to face with them, she loved animals of all kinds and they tended to love her to.

One day in summer, she had a whole week off and decided to finally go through with her African Safari plan. While sure she had to stay with the guide, maybe she could sneak away and just go on her own little tour and re-join the group before it was over. It seemed like an easy plan, but she knew it might be hard to get away from the group. She figured if she ever found a bush she'd stop to tie her shoe and then hide in there until they were out of sight. Hopefully no one would notice.

She found a more obscure one where it was all on foot rather than in a vehicle so that made the plan easier to execute. It seemed like a big violation of safety standards but it fit in with her plan. Jessica determined that if it was that dangerous then it wouldn't still be open. She got her arrangements taken care of and got her plane ticket to get her out there.

She soon arrived and set out on the safari with a small group of ten. The plan was all according to plan, she just had to wait for the right moment to "strike" in the metaphorical sense. Jessica did enjoy seeing the animals, but wasn't a big fan of the large group aspect. Eventually, her moment came. They had all finished their water break and were getting on the road again. Jessica stayed behind, tying her shoe. She quickly rolled into a bush and they were none the wiser.

It was almost too easy. Jessica began to walk the other way from the group after they were out of sight, falling off of the trail. It was mostly plains, and actually rather uneventful. She was starting to think it would of been better to just stay on the trail, they would at least know where the animals are. The safari was quite hot but it seemed to be getting hotter by the minute? Itchy to? What was going on?

Jessica's eyes widened as she saw orange fur had grown all over her body. Black spots formed all over from her neck down. Her nose became much large and took on a more oval-esc shape as they moved higher up on her head. Her eyes became darker and changed from blue to a dark hazel. Jessica's nose became brown as it pushed outward into an average size muzzle. Her teeth became much sharper as more formed to align her new long jaw.

Jessica started to panic, falling onto all fours as her bone structure changed drastically. Her legs and arm both taking on digitigrade forms. Her hands and feet both became three digited paws with her nails turning into claws. A thin tail formed behind her while her body shrank down vastly, Jessica's clothes now covering her entire body. She pawed her way out of her former clothing, now a full hyena.

She looked at her body the best she could. By the looks of it she was the average size for a female hyena, nothing too special about her. Her ears drooped down and tail went between her legs as she started to move deeper into the safari. Maybe she should of stayed with the group after all. At the very least, she would be able to explore much more of the safari then she ever could and get closer to any animal she wanted, unless they ran away at the sight of her. She was a predator now after all. She sighed and took off, if she was going to be a hyena she may as well enjoy it!
