Chapter 16: Recovery

First of I don't own any Char of the Digimon series, however I do own Alphonse aka Al and receive a permission to use other names as well. I apologize first hand if there's a spelling and grammar errors because English is my second. Anything else, Enjoy.
Chapter 16: Recovery
Al was in the darkness for a while. He couldn't see, hear or feel anything as if his body and mind was shut down temporary from overwork. At first he could hear some weak unclear voices, then slowly become louder and mumbles. Al began to open his eyes and he closed it again because the sky is so bright. He groan irritated by the sun light and then try to block it with his arm.
"You've finally awake" Al heard a familiar voice close to him. He turned his head to the voice and it was Antylamon.
Al smiled seeing the familiar face that greeted him. "Hey there, Antylamon."
Antylamon helped him to get up. "Thank the Lord you awake. We've tried to contact you since you passed out."
Al holds his head trying to steady himself. "Passed out, how long was I out?"
"You were out for almost four hours straight. We try to contact you through the Terminal but you didn't reply."
"I was out for four hours? That's impossible! How come a game can make you passed out like that and come to think of it how come I feel pain if I'm injured in the game?"
"That is a mystery to all of us, my little friend." Al heard a new male voice behind him and saw a tall man wearing a white monk robe with a hood covering half of his upper face.
"And who are you?"
The mysterious man removed his hood and revealed a 40 year old blond man with moustache and beard. His hair is quite long and tied back. He reached out his hand to shake with Al, "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Gennai, your supervisor. It's nice to meet you, Alphonse."
Al reach his claw hand to his hand and shake, "So you are the organizer of the Destinies. I thought that the organizer would be an old man or something."
"Well he was an old man when I heard it from others, but he can change his own personal appearance." Antylamon agreed with Al's thought about Gennai.
Al quickly looked at Antylamon in disbelief and then back at Gennai, "Changing his appearance, does that mean he is a Digimon as well?"
"For a short version, yes I am." Gennai replied his question.
"If I may ask, how come I can feel the pain in the game?"
Gennai fold his left hand and put his right hand on his chin. "I could only guess it was the virus effect. In the human world, there is various kind of virus. Some can copy and delete the data; some can change the data. For your case, it transfers either the pain to your brain or your soul into your PC."
"That is one weird virus I ever heard of, and where am I now?" Al looked at his surroundings. He is sitting on the shade of cliff on the mountain. He saw some bushes and boulders and some Digimons wandering around with a weird clip board or monitor. "And what are they doing?"
"They were doing some maintenance on the field that you fought against the glitches."
Al looked closely at the Digimons that help the maintenance. There are 11 Digimons helping the maintenance, Angewomon, ExVeemon, and MetalGrowlmon is one of them. The fourth is the Digimon had green and black armor, a pair of insect wing, red hair and long ribbon antenna. The fifth one had blue skinny body with large helmet, two pair of insect wings and a large mouth. The sixth had a large full bronze armored body with a jet pack and four exhaust. The seventh one wears a ceremonial priest and had a bushy fox tail and a fox face, but somehow Al felt he knew it. The eight one had a green armor in most vital part and had a large ear like green armor and again a jet pack in horizontal form. The ninth had three pair of wings, a blue pants, and a helmet. The tenth is... "ANOTHER VIRUS?!" said Al and quickly rush toward the Angemon which mistaken with the virus he fought before.
All of the Digimon looked at Al spontaneously and that include Angemon. "Where...?" The Angemon looked around then slowly realize that the virus that Al meant was him then raise his hand in defense. "Oh no... Wait, you mistaken me with something!" Al ignored what he said and began to attack.
Al shot three Pepper Breaths toward Angemon and Angemon dodge it without any trouble. Al knew that he will dodge it so he keeps on running toward Angemon after the shots. He then jump to the air and ready his claw to attack. When Al almost readied his attack, he heard someone yell "THOUSAND SPELLS!" and after that numerous of papers flew toward Al and wrapped him up in the air. "What the... Hey!" Al said when he is wrapped up.
Al looked around for the culprit who bind him in the air, and it was the priest fox or to be precise the priestess vixen after confirming the voice when she called her skill. "Let me go, or we will be killed by that virus!" he plead to the priestess, but she didn't reply.
Angewomon fly approaching Al who hung up in the air. "Take it easy, Alphonse. He is not a virus."
Al looked at Angewomon in shock and confusion, "What do you mean?"
"This is Angemon, he is one of the Destinies like me." She introduced him to Al. "Also he is my boyfriend."
Al looked at the Angemon then looked back again to Angewomon for three times to digest the situation. "Oops... My mistakes." Al started to blush for his matter. He looked at Angemon apologetically, "Sorry for charging you like that, Angemon. I thought that you are one of them."
"I can understand that. She told me that you fought Angemons and MagnaAngemons before we all arrive here." Angemon accept his apologies and understand his situation.
After thing has settled down, the priestess release her binding spell on Al. The binding slowly loosen up and Angewomon hold him on until both of them land safely on the ground.
"I have to admit it; you're quite strong for defeating the glitches alone and endured all the damages they gave to you." A male voice came from the black and green armor Digimon. "I'm Stingmon, Ken's partner nice to meet you."
"You've already met Angewomon, MetalGrowlmon, Antylamon, ExVeemon and Taomon. The large brown one is called Guardromon. The large head with a big mouth is Kabuterimon. The green armor rabbit is Rapidmon. And the blue werewolf is called WereGarurumon." Al looked at the last of the Digimon he didn't see when he was distracted by Angemon's appearance. What Stingmon said is true; WereGarurumon had a distinct figure of a werewolf with white bluish fur with blue stripes on certain parts. He wears a belt across his waist that goes across his upper body and connects to his blue jeans. A 'glove' covers one arm and spiked brass knuckles are on one hand. He also wears earrings and bandages on various parts of his body.
"I agree with Stingmon. You are able to withstand against all of those glitches on your own while protecting someone; and it is nice to meet you." WereGarurumon lend him his paw hand to shake with Al and Al accepted it.
"I survive because I have change into different form. But how I change is still new to me because I don't have a clue." Al explained the reason how he survive against the herd of Angemons.
"I guess that you Digivolve into higher form to battle against all of them," said Kabuterimon while continuing the maintenance.
"Digivolve... What is that mean?" Al asked in confusion since he is new to all of this.
"Digivolve is a short version from ‘Digital Evolution'. It is a common ability for all of us Digimon to change into higher and stronger form. Of course we can't say the long one so we decide to call the short version." Antylamon answered his question.
"And thus it was called Digivolution or Digivolve." Al concludes the explanation. "But I was digivolved, I turned into what?"
"Well if you're an Agumon then you turned into Greymon." Rapidmon answered his question.
"Greymon, are you sure about that Rapidmon? Last time I checked the name, it was GeoGreymon." Al began to doubt about all of this.
"That is not possible. You must have misread the name."
"What he said is true." Angewomon support Al's opinion. "I've been with the first and I know what Greymon looks like, and he was bigger than Greymon."
"Maybe Agumon had another form and yet we do not know up until now. Or maybe because of the virus effect you've been had it." Gennai put his right hand on his chin thinking some possibilities about Agumon's new appearance. "But the weirdest part is that you can see the glitches first hand before things happened. I should exam your character next time, hopefully it can help others."
"Any way, break time is over. Let's continue our task before re-opening this area again." Rapidmon announce and return to his work.
"Now that you mention it, how far are we progressing?" ask Gennai remembering other duties in the mountain area.
"We are almost finished before the commotion start." Rapidmon report the progress.
Al went back to the place where he passed out and watches the rest repairing the damages he caused with a depress sigh. Gennai and Antylamon saw his depression and sat on each side of Al. "Is there something you would like to talk about it?" Gennai asked trying to open the conversation.
"I just felt sorry for what I've done on this place."
"Do not worry about it."Antylamon want to assure Al. "We always do this after eliminating the glitches."
Al looked around again and noticed something was missing. "Antylamon, have you seen the BlackGabumon that with me before?"
"You mean ShadowWolf?" Antylamon asked Al if that is who he meant. "He was with you for two and a half hours after the repair team arrived. We tried to tell him that you will be fine but he insisted for not leaving from your side. Somehow he felt guilty about something without a reason, I don't know."
"I do." Al answered his question. "He still thinks that he is responsible for the virus outbreak and getting me injured till I was passed out."
"In that case, you have to make a short report for what you saw and do during the glitches. You can submit it to Kari when you are in school." Gennai asked him the usual procedure.
"Aww... man, do I have to make reports each time there were glitches?"
"You have to because we have to compare it with the previous data, so we could tell what, how, and when will happen."
"I guess I should head back to the human world and write the reports immediately."
Angewomon heard their conversation and began to call Al, "Before you go. I have a message from Kari. She said that you should take a day off for today."
"I'd love to but I can't absent today."
"Why?"
Al scratched his head knowing their ignorance. "I can't tell my mother that I was passed out in the game for six hours non-stop. She will think that I was playing a whole night."
"I forgot that you are the only human that didn't have a partner and live with your mother." Gennai answered completely forgot that Al is only a high school boy with a body of a Digimon.
Al shook his head "Anyway I need to go back to the city first before I logged out. But um... how can I get to the city?"
"There is a portal near here. You can get to the city through that." Antylamon answered and Al began to walk heading toward the nearest portal that Antylamon mentioned.
Al saw something on the ground it was a light blue square with a light blue circle in it. It was almost similar with the portal in the city. Al step on the portal and a specific question has been asked for anyone who steps on to the portal. It asked "Do you want to return to the city?" and gave the choices. Of course Al selected yes and he was teleported to the city within a minute.
Al was back to the city again and it was night time. The street is illuminated by street lamps. The buildings are also illuminated by either electric light or candles or fireplaces. It is beautiful scenery almost like a Cinderella Castle at Disneyland.
Al wanted to log out immediately but he was side track by the scenery and a figure right in front of him. There sat the BlackGabumon either someone he knew or some stranger. Al approaches it slowly and a name tag appeared telling the name of the user. Al was surprise the user of the BlackGabumon, it was ShadowWolf. Al walked slowly to surprise him. When he met eye to eye, ShadowWolf is remained silent as if he just saw a statue of ShadowWolf. He heard something weird from somewhere. The sound is like... a snore, and it was coming from ShadowWolf. Al was completely amazed by ShadowWolf action. He even waited for him even though he was told not to worry and logged out. Al whispered to him with whisper type to relay his message. "I'm fine and awake. Thank you for worrying me when I was out. I hope that we can meet again when I played the game again next time. Thank you for your help, and See you again."
After typing his message, he opened the menu and select log out and he is out of the game. He removed the goggle set and put it down the table. He closed the game in his computer and shutting down his computer. He looked at the clock and it was four in the morning. "I better start writing the reports now so I can submit it to Kari when I see her in school."
