Some notes before I start, in my stories I use symbols to help prevent confusion, they are as follows:

*****Date*****=Time of events in story

~Character name~=Name of character speaking

()Location()=location of events in story

Now then, with that out of the way, on with the story!

~ Lieutenant Charles Taylor ~

*****December 5, 1945; 6:20 p.m.*****

() Location: Somewhere over the Bermuda Triangle, Close to the Bahamas ()

I'm flying in a small navy bomber and running out of fuel after a bombing practice session. I'm flying at about 10,000 feet. I look at the fuel gauge on the control panel and it reads eleven gallons of fuel remaining in the fuel tanks. I radio to the other four planes that were flying with me "When your plane's fuel tanks have ten gallons remaining radio to the rest of us. We are going to ditch together."

*****April 10, 2008; 4:30 p.m.*****

A reply to that radio message never comes. A bright light suddenly appears causing the rest of the flight and I to temporarily be blinded. A few moments later light disappears and I can see again. What I see both confuses and frightens me. I am no longer over open ocean but over land and the rest of the flight has disappeared. I begin to frantically radio the rest of my flight but nobody answers. It then hits me. The stories about the Bermuda Triangle were real. I check my fuel gauge and to my horror it reads that my fuel tanks are empty. I open the canopy and jump out of my plane. I count off five seconds and pull the cord to open my parachute. I gracefully fall to the ground in a slow decent.

When I'm about twenty-five feet off of the ground a strong wind begins to blow. It blows my parachute into a tree. My parachute gets stuck in the tree. I disconnect the cords that attached me to the parachute I fall to the ground. When I hit the ground I roll to cushion the impact from falling. As I roll my head hits a rock and I black out.

~Mirabelle~

I'm looking for firewood for my trainer Dennis when I hear what sounds like somebody getting hurt. I drop the wood that I was carrying and run towards the direction of the sound. When I get to a small clearing I see a human in some strange clothes on the ground. His head is next to a rock. I approach him and look at him to make sure he isn't hurt. When I get to the other side of him I see something that worries me. His head is bleeding and a drop of blood is on the ground underneath his head. I grab his arm and put it over my shoulder so that I could drag him back to Dennis. Dennis would be able to help him.

I finally arrive back at camp five minutes later. Dennis sees the human I am dragging and asks, "What happened to him?"

Dennis had been teaching me how to speak human but I didn't know very many words yet. I reply, "Found him."

Dennis takes his arm and drags him over to the tent so that he can examine him better. Dennis picks up the first aid kit he always carried with him and cleans the head wound. He examines the wound for a couple of minutes before saying "The wound doesn't look as if it would be enough to knock him out but he may have a concussion. We need to get him to a hospital soon. If he does have a concussion and doesn't get medical help soon he may suffer permanent brain damage. Mirabelle can you watch him while I pack up camp? If we continue through the night we should be able to reach Mauville City."

I nod my head and walk over to the human. I look at his face and think, "He's cute."

I shake the thought from my head knowing that a human would never have a relationship with a pokemon. Besides human/pokemon relationships were illegal. A thought then invades my head "Maybe if he became the champion he could make the suggestion to the elite four that humans can have relationships with pokemon."

I realize that what I had just thought might actually work. The champion couldn't change the laws directly but the elite four are forced to do what he or she says. If I could get him to be the champion he could tell the elite four to change the law. My thoughts are broken by Dennis's voice "Mirabelle can you help me carry him?"

I nod and Dennis puts his backpack on his back. I pick up the human's shoulders as Dennis lifts his legs. I lift the human's shoulders over my head and we run towards Mauville.

*****April 10, 2008; 5:04 p.m.*****

We finally arrive at the emergency room in the Mauville city hospital. We run up to the desk and Dennis tells the nurse at the desk "My zangoose found this man out on the road unconscious and bleeding from the head. I brought him here because I was worried that he may have a concussion. We don't know how long he has been unconscious but he needs to be seen immediately."

The nurse nods at what he had just said and pushes a button. A moment later the double doors to the right of the desk swing open. A stretcher pushed by two humans in white coats. They take the human Dennis and I are carrying and put him on the stretcher. They push the stretcher back through the double doors. I begin to follow them but before I can go through the doors Dennis yells at me to come back. I return back to Dennis with my head hung in sadness and worry for the human I had found. Instead of my usual chatty behavior I'm quiet and lost in thought. I think about the human and wonder if he is going to have any memories lost. Dennis looks at me and asks, "What's wrong Mirabelle? Your not normally like this."

I reply "Worried."

He nods his head and says "Yeah I'm worried about him too. I hope he is going to be okay. I wonder where he is from. He didn't look like he was from around here."

I don't respond to him. I just lie down and go to sleep since worry had taken away my appetite.

*****April 10, 2008; 7:46 p.m.*****

Somebody gently rubbing my side wakes me up. I hear Dennis's voice say "Come on Mirabelle the human you rescued is awake and he wants to thank you for saving him."

I get up and ask, "Where?"

A female voice answers "Follow me I'll show you to his room."

Dennis and I follow the nurse to the human's room. When we arrive at the human's room he is lying in a bed but is awake. He looks over at the door that we had just come in through and looks at Dennis before saying "So you're the one who found me and brought me here right?"

Dennis replies, "Actually it was Mirabelle that found you. If she hadn't found you, you probably would still be back in the forest unconscious."

The man looks at Dennis confused before asking, "Who's Mirabelle?"

Dennis answers, "Mirabelle is my zangoose. My name is Dennis by the way."

The man looks even more confused and asks, "What's a zangoose?"

Before Dennis can reply I blurt out "Me!"

The man looks at me and says "Thank you. I am Lieutenant Charles Carroll Taylor; I am in your debt for your kind actions. Can anybody tell me where I am and what the date is?"

Dennis answers him "You are currently in the Mauville city hospital. You are currently recovering from neural surgery to fix the concussion that you had. To answer your second question today's date is April 10, 2008."

When Dennis answers his second question, Charles's eyes grow wide and he whispers, "Wow sixty-two years. Everybody I once knew is dead."

Dennis asks, "What do you mean by sixty-two years?"

Charles answers, "Where I come from there is a place known as the Bermuda Triangle. Ships and planes are known to disappear for no reason at all. Those ships and planes never come back. I was flying with the rest of my flight after a bombing practice session when a bright light appeared in front of us. When the light disappeared I was alone and flying over land instead of the water I was flying over. I ran out of fuel and parachuted out of my plane. While on the way to the ground my parachute got snagged in a tree and I disconnected myself about twenty-five feet off of the ground. When I hit the ground I rolled and hit a rock. That's where Mirabelle found me. When I disappeared the date was December 5, 1945. I don't even know if I'm on my home planet right now. Could one of you tell me where Mauville city is?"

Dennis answers, "Mauville city is in the Hoenn region."

I feel sorry for Charles. If his story is true he doesn't know anybody or anything in this world and everybody he once knew is dead now. He had to be lonely. Maybe Dennis would let me go with Charles. Dennis had other pokemon some of which were even stronger than me. I just needed a way to tell Dennis my plan.

My stomach growls from not having anything to eat for so long and I think of a way to tell Dennis. I look at Dennis and say "Hungry."

Dennis replies "Yeah I'm hungry also Mirabelle. Charles do you mind if Mirabelle and I get something to eat real fast? We haven't eaten since lunch."

Charles nods and Dennis leaves with me following behind him. When we get to the cafeteria I say to Dennis "Charles lonely."

Dennis nods and says, "He must be lonely. Can you imagine having friends and family, then losing them all and also having to start again in life?"

I reply "Sad."

Dennis replies "Yeah it is. I just hope he can find a couple of friends and can make it here."

I think for a moment and say, "I go with Charles."

Dennis looks at me with a look of sadness on his face and says "Are you sure you want to go with him? I won't stop you if you do."

I think some more about the decision and then say, "I go with Charles."

Dennis nods and says, "I will tell Charles that you want to go with him. I'm proud of you for doing this. He needs a friend right now."

*****April 10, 2008; 8:36 p.m.*****

We finish eating and Dennis pays the bill for the food. After paying the bill Dennis and I walk over to the pokemart. Dennis buys a pokedex, six pokeballs, and two potions. He also picks up one of the trainer registration forms. He pays for the supplies and we walk back to the hospital.

As we approach Charles's room we hear a harmonica being played. When Dennis and I step into the room Charles notices us and puts his harmonica down. He looks at the items in Dennis's hands and asks, "What are those for?"

Dennis answers, "Since your trapped here right now I figured you should at least try to make the best of your time here, so I bought you a pokedex, some pokeballs, and got you the papers you need to register as a pokemon trainer. Mirabelle has volunteered to be your first pokemon."

Charles looks at me and asks "Mirabelle are you sure you want to leave Dennis and go with me?"

I nod my head and say, "Yes."

Dennis looks at Charles and says "Before you can take Mirabelle with you though, you need to fill out these papers. I'll turn them in for you."

Dennis hands Charles the papers. Charles looks at them and pulls out a pen from his jacket. He starts filling in the various questions. When he finishes filling out the papers he hands them to Dennis and says "Thank you for everything you have done for me."

Dennis replies "Your welcome. The pokedex I gave you has some information about the Hoenn region and pokemon in general. It also has a tutorial on how to battle pokemon and how to catch pokemon."

Charles nods and says, "That should be helpful but why do I have to catch the pokemon, can't I just have them follow me without catching them?"

Dennis answers "You can let them follow you without catching them but if another trainer catches them they will belong to that trainer then and not you. When you catch a pokemon it is registered under your name. You can do what I do with Mirabelle and let her out after you have caught her. As long as the pokemon is registered under your name no other trainers catch that pokemon."

Charles looks confused and asks "But if Mirabelle is already registered under your name then how will I register her as my pokemon?"

Dennis answers "I can trade her to you if you are a registered trainer but since you aren't I am going to release her and have you catch her."

Charles then says, "I think I understand now. So when are we going to have me catch her?"

I answer for Dennis "Now!"

Dennis takes my pokeball and pushes the button to release me. Charles asks, "What do I do now?"

Dennis answers "You grab one of the pokeballs I gave you and you throw it at Mirabelle. When the ball stops rocking it means you caught her."

Charles grabs one of the pokeballs on the table beside him and throws it at me. It hits me in my chest and I am engulfed in red light. A few moments later I am released from the confines of my pokeball. I look at Charles who is holding my new pokeball. I walk over to him and give him a hug.

Charles is surprised by my hug but returns it anyways. He says to Dennis and I "I'm going to go to sleep now. Mirabelle do you want to sleep in your ball or on the bed?"

I reply "Bed."

Charles says to me "Then you sleep on the bed. Goodnight Mirabelle. Dennis can you turn off the lights when you leave?"

Dennis answers "Sure, goodnight."

Dennis turns off the lights and walks outside. I jump onto the bed and lay down close to Charles's feet. As I fall asleep I say to Charles "Goodnight."
