Motive:
At first, to assassinate Tagg to allow the Fellis greater access to the Great Lady. After to serve the Great Lady and to have an "Understanding" with Boomer. You can't call it a relationship.
Past:
Lei was raised from birth for the expressed purpose of getting Scott Taggart out of the way of the Fellis, so that they could have unlimited access to the Great Lady. The faction that raised her wanted to manipulate Tenaya for their own ends, to become the power behind the throne as it were. Lei was one of the options that they pursued. Trained from childhood in the quite impressive list mentioned above. She was also prevented, via multiple surgeries, from attaining the full growth of the Kahn line. She has all of the speed and strength of a Kahn, but about two thirds of the mass. She can vertical jump almost 20 meters as a result, and can bench press 320 lbs. She was made to be approachable to the Great Lady, and the result is that Lei is the same height as Tenaya, but as strong and fast as Talingar, and just as well trained in hand to hand combat. She endured multiple rounds of intense mental conditioning to allow her to approach the Great Lady and keep on mission. (It's called brain washing... Scrub scrub...)
At 27, she went into the field, and infiltrated Junction posed as a Fellis domestic, her fur disguised as a Bengal. She got a job at Tenaya's publishing and actually Saw the Great Lady and started to rethink her assignment. She then ran into Tagg and the training and mental conditioning she went through triggered and she attacked Tagg. Boomer was there and intervened. The two had a savage hand to hand round, with Boomer breaking a few of Lei's ribs and one of her legs, but Lei chewing into Boomer's shoulder and neck and raking his stomach open. The fight was long enough that Tenaya got downstairs and went Kitteh all over Lei, and her divine nature overcame the conditioning that she'd endured. She pledged herself to Tenaya and told Boomer that she owed him a debt of honor.
She was accepted into Tenaya's service and is slated to be Talingar's replacement as he retires from service. Boomer and her became tentative friends and partners. Boomer helps her discover an identity and life outside of espionage, and she helps him recover from his traumas by getting him to remember what a life was like in the first place.
Reputation:
Lei is the nightmare of any Fellis that thinks they can manipulate Tenaya into or about Anything. She's Tenaya's quiet and deadly shadow, and is considered Gryphon's little sister for all intents and purposes. Also, when Tenaya needs someone to remotely nosebeep Tagg, she sends Lei, just as a friendly reminder.
Stereotype/formula:
If Jason Bourne and River Tam had a tiger kid who had a kid with Ethan Hunt, it'd be Lei.
Network:
Lei is one of the few Fellis that actually has unrestricted access to Tenaya, even the acceptance of the furkids (Merlin, Gryphon, Molly, Meg, and Gus). They teach her to be kitteh. She looks after Mahm. Otherwise, she has very little to do with people, not entirely understanding WHAT to do with or about them. Boomer, Tenaya, and Tagg are her lifeline to anything resembling a normal life (she's doomed..). She's familiar with everyone in Tenaya's life (and has dossiers made for each of them, with analysis of weaknesses and security vulnerabilities), but not friendly or close with anyone. She likes and respects Talingar. She likes, but is sometimes annoyed by Soulway. She's wary of Jasmine, and is sympathetic to Cachet. She's still out on Genna. She has no interest in Old Wolf outside of him being Boomer's sometimes boss. Boomer and her have an "understanding". You can't call it a relationship, but the writer is snickering to himself. Damn shipper.
Habits and Patterns:
Lei is a weapon. She holds herself as one, and doesn't know how Not to be one. She's quiet and talks only when she absolutely Has to. She has zero tact. Simply put, she doesn't care to be polite or political. She leaves that to lesser fools. She appreciates the same blunt truth that she has for everyone else, but has a soft spot for Boomer and what he's endured. She's an adult trying to figure out who and what she wants to be.
Mentally, she has a lot of childlike tendencies. She has a wonder for the world that comes from not having been a part of it very much. New experiences are a treasure to her. Old experiences are boring. Family is an odd sensation, and being part of Tenaya's pride is something she's still coming to terms with (and may or may not still have a bit of conditioning to get over still). She takes the milk and cookies ceremony VERY seriously. (You will eat the cookie now, or I will have to kill you...)
Oddly, she's also allergic to nanite technology. Most typical genetic and body modification and even most Therin medical procedures will drive her body into anaphylaxis. This is why her initial body modification was done surgically.
Talents and Abilities:
Good god this kahn is death. No. Seriously. Death. If you want it dead, now, without question or comment, Lei's got it done. She's a one Kahn IMF force. Her and Boomer make a shudder inspiring team. Pissing them both off would be elevating suicide/homicide to an artistic expression. Lei knows so many hand to hand techniques and disciplines that she can mix and match at will. She can infiltrate almost anywhere, get in, get a target, get out, and get back to watching Tenaya and possibly be back in time for dinner. She's Never late for Milk and Cookies. NEVER. This is understood.
Body/physical description:
Lei is a Fellis Great Kahn that stands an uninspiring 5'2" and weighs in at 175 (of pure muscle) and has the body and build of a martial artist. She has green eyes and, when not dyed, orange fur with black stripes. She has surgery scars all over her body from the body modification she's undergone.
