#3 of Master of Slavprot

As October laid down in his bed, he felt Lexi's arm wrap around him. She had insisted on sleeping next to him, and he didn't feel like complaining. Besides, he had too much to do, and so little time to do it in. He waited until the three drifted off, then got up and started to mess with his computer, "I can't wait until he tries something. Just a few more hours."

The sun was rising as Jacques made his way onto the school grounds. He waved to the security guard at the checkpoint and eventually made his way to his parking spot. There, he was hit by a sudden inspiration, something he could do to control October. He smiled as he went to his office and waited for the students to wake up. At around 6 am, he made a private call to October and Clingy's room, something that couldn't be traced, "Hello, October. I was wondering if you could come to my office for a minute. I have some things I would like to discuss with you."

"I was wondering what took you so long." he said as he hung up. Jacques was curious as to what October meant by that, but he shrugged it off and cleared out a spot on his desk. He then pulled out his deck of cards and started to shuffle them. He was going to try and beat October to display his power.

October turned to Clingy, who was still half asleep, "Here, if anyone comes into this room, push the button, but make sure you hide it. Don't worry why, just do it. I have a war to plan." Clingy was confused as October left, but he had no intentions of disappointing him.

It was a few minutes, but October was in his office, wearing his beat up street clothes and carrying his deck in his hands, which was odd since Jacques didn't mention anything, "Nice of you to join me. I was hoping we could play a game, to wake us up a little more, eh? What do you say?"

"Fine with me. Not like I've slept all night. I was just too captivated by the moon's beauty." October smiled as he shuffled his cards and placed the deck on the table, "Ladies first."

Jacques smiled politely, knowing that there was no way that he could lose with October using Tulip's deck. Most of his cards were immune to traps and effects, so October would soon be overpowered, "As you wish. I shall put a Young Dragon (1300, 1000) down and end my turn. I've been meaning to tell you a little more about my school. We run on a strict dictatorship, in order to keep the balance."

October put down a Divine Maiden (1000, 1300) down in defense then placed three cards down, "You know, I'm more interested in history. For instance, I know of a certain time in history, not that long ago. A young woman stood up for what she believed, and was willing to die for it. She was kind and would help anyone who asked, even those who didn't, at any cost. She had many unique abilities, but she refused to use them for the greater good." The Divine Maiden had the power to strengthen a card if she was destroyed.

Jacques sat back, "Interesting. However, beliefs alone will not get you far in this world. I'll sacrifice this dragon so I can place a Treasure Guardian (2100, 2300). I suppose I'll just attack and destroy your Maiden. A shame that you placed such a strange card, I did not think Tulip had that."

October flipped a card over, "She didn't. But I do. Oh, this allows me to summon an Unknown Warrior (1200, 1200) whenever his Maiden is destroyed. Since she can transfer her strength to a card for one turn, I think I'll add it to him, making his attack 2200. Also, I'll flip over this card, which allows me to summon two Town Militia (800, 900) to the battlefield. Funny what happens when an inspirational figure is cut down in her prime. It inspires people to rise up, even though they are weak. Guess it's my turn now." He drew a card, then activated it, "This let's me draw five more cards." He did so then put three cards down and attacked, destroying the Treasure Guardian.

Jacques was still confident, "True, a people can rise but that itself means nothing when the thing they are trying to change is permanent. I place a Red Dragon (1700, 1400) and attack your unknown warrior."

October flipped over a card, "Heh, guess you didn't think of this. Every hero must fight something that is stronger than him, and he won't let a death get to him. This allows me to exchange this card especially for another, such as the Knight of Fate (2500, 2500). When the time comes, every man must rise to meet the challenge. As such, he believes in the Maiden's wishes, and protects and helps others. Huh, looks like your dragon is dead. Just another obstacle in his way. And he will cut down everyone who threatened the Maiden."

Jacques snarled, since October had a better grip on this game than he had thought, "Fine, I activate this, which allows me to call forth every dragon in my hand that has an attack of 1900 or less. Ha ha ha!" He placed four dragons, 1000, 1200, 1500, and 1900 attack, "Unfortunately, this ends my turn. Top this, punk."

"Ah, the Hail Mary of the tyrant, trying to overpower the enemy quickly by use of threats and numbers. However, Fate cares not the numbers, only that there is something to change." He drew another card, "I will destroy the 1900 one. What a shame, I think you're losing this match."

Jacques was very frustrated now, "You haven't even met my true power. I will sacrifice the remaining dragons and place the Tyrant Dragon, which combines the attack of every soldier sacrificed for it (3700, 3700). But before I destroy any chance of you winning, I'll end my turn and let you admire his strength." Jacques was laughing slightly, knowing that he had won, but October was still confident.

He drew a card silently, then flipped over a face down card. The blood left Jacques' face, "Yes, Reckless Assault is a very risky card. It transfers all defense to attack and then attacks. Simple, straight forward, but it leaves the soldier with no defense. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about that any more. Goodbye to the Tyrant, for a new champion has been born." October kept smiling as he dominated Jacques. For a match he was sure that he was going to win, he took a loss with some dignity. "Don't be ashamed, every tyrant falls sooner or later. I think it's funny, really, how this turned out."

"What do you mean by that?"

October's smile faded, "Perhaps it's better that you don't know. Anyway, history has an eerie way of repeating itself. Even though it may not be of the same magnitude, it will happen, Peace Officer Jacques."

Jacques was taken aback, since nobody knew what he was before being a dean. Not even his family knew, so how could this mere student? He had to know, "How, exactly, did you know about that? I am curious to learn more about you, your past, and what you plan on doing in the future."

October stood up, "I bet you do. Suffice it to say again, I won't start anything, but I will finish it. It's just the way I am." There was a buzz in his shoe, "I hope for your sake that no one tries to hack into my computer. Technology is a very fickle thing, and since you have everything wired across a single network, even the slightest screw up could... crash everything. But you would never stoop so low, would you?" He chuckled as he left the room. Jacques wanted to know how October could know this. He turned to his computer and flipped on the monitor.

"Oh... my... God..." There was a simple message on a black screen that said, "DATA CORRUPTED." over and over again to the point where it filled the entire screen. At the bottom, there was a message in a really small print, meant specifically for Jacques, "Strike One." He snarled as he leaned back in his chair, "That little... I need to get this fixed, then I have to show him not to mess with me. He will regret this." He made a quick phone call.

As October walked back to the dorm, he heard yelling. It was laced with fear and pain. October started running through the dirt path and he saw what was happening. Three buff students were standing over a beaten and bloody canine who was whimpering in pain. As October reached the fence, he saw who it was, "Clingy..." He decided to forget the lock and climbed the fence. He dropped down on the other side and instantly caught the attention of everyone at the scene, from the big cowardly bear to the tiny genius lizard. He slowly stood up, adding fear to the crowd, "All of you, back away. Except for the dead ones, they can stay." He marched solemnly towards the body of Clingy, then shoved the jocks to the side and felt for a pulse, "Good. Hang in there. You, Tulip and Lexi! Take him and clean him up. Wrap him up and set him down on the floor. Make sure he doesn't go into shock. Take anyone you need to help."

The cowardly bear ran over and picked Clingy up, "I'll help... Ah!" One of the jocks threw a punch which knocked October to the ground

"Well," he asked, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up. I'll take care of these three. Just make sure," One of the jocks stomped on his face, "he doesn't go to sleep. Okay?" Clingy was taken away as the jocks proceeded to pummel October. The crowd watched as blood began to pour out of him. After a thirty minute attack, the jocks stopped.

"There, I hope you-"

"Heh heh heh heh heh..."

"What the hell?!"

October was laughing on the ground, which seemed impossible. Suddenly, he hopped up as though he wasn't hurt, "That was interesting, but you lack passion. You tried to make it flashy, to get across a message, I presume. However, to hurt someone, you have to go for a few specific points on the body, like the kidneys." he dashed behind one of the jocks a delivered a really hard kick to his kidney, making him collapse to the ground.

"Ytir! You bastard!" A jock threw a punch, which October dodged by simply bending backwards.

"Another way to cause a lot of damage is to go for the joints, as such." He punched as hard as possible into the jock's armpit, and everyone saw his entire arm dislodge from the shoulder. As October fell to the ground, he kicked his face. Then, October stood back up.

"How did you... how are you... why aren't you bleeding?!" October had stopped bleeding and was instead laughing, "You're a monster! Get away from me!" He made a mad dash for the fence, but October was significantly faster and cut him off.

"The last way only works against a male enemy. It isn't pretty, and most will call you a coward for doing it, but what do they know? It's not how you win the fight, it's THAT you win the fight. Farewell." He kneed the jock in the crotch, elbowed him in the face, then stepped on his throat and pushed down, "Can you feel that? The world fading into darkness? This is why you should never challenge someone who has lost everything. Oh, do you want to know a secret? You three weren't supposed to walk away unharmed. He wanted this to happen, so he could punish me." October gave a creepy grin as he walked to the fence and leaned against it. He put a finger under his collar and loosened it a bit.

The familiar sound of sirens in the distance scared the crowd. They scattered and ran inside the dorm. As the security force pulled up, they yelled over the speakers, "Put down all weapons and put your hands in the air." October refused, "I will not repeat myself. Do as you are told or we will be forced to tazer you!"

October turned around, "Really, that's all you have? I am so very disappointed. Oh well, best of luck to you." October climbed the fence and as he landed, security guards swarmed on him. He felt about three tazers, but they didn't affect him any more. He waited for the familiar feeling of being shoved into a car and carried away.

Meanwhile, Clingy was being looked after. He only had minor cuts and some bruising, but was otherwise okay. Tulip and Lexi had bandaged him up as much as they could, but they were a little under experienced, so he looked a little like a mummy. The cowardly bear was in the room, afraid to leave because he saw a spider in the hallway. "There, I think we have it. Clingy? Are you okay? Here, drink some of this tea, is will help the pain go away." Tulip held the cup since he couldn't move his arms.

Clingy took a sip, "Thank you. Is October okay? He was hit so hard... is he hurt?"

Lexi was unsure how to answer him when a student ran into the room, "Hey! October just kicked their assess! It was awesome! They were like 'I'm gonna beat you up' an he was all laughing and totally beat their brains out! He was bleeding and still got up and fought them! Then the cops came and tazered him and he was all like 'whatever' and he got in the car and they went away!" the student then ran out of the room and was screaming it up and down the hallways. They were on the first floor, for they could hear everything.

"Uh... apparently he's fine."

The bear looked at Tulip the whole time, "Uh... miss magic girl... can I ask you a question?"

Tulip looked up, "Yes."

"Could you... uh... could you... teach me... uh... magic? I don't want to be helpless again, so can you help me learn?" Tulip stared at him for a minute, but didn't say a word, "Okay, I didn't think you would say yes. I'm sorry for asking. Please don't hurt me!"

Lexi looked up, and saw a reflection of the sun on the metal frame of the door. Tulip snapped back to attention, "Uh, what? Where am I? Oh, your question, what is it?"

Lexi got impatient, "You're gonna teach him magic. Pay attention! You, bear, what's your name?!" For some reason, she was yelling. This was a part of her condition, being a bitch to anyone she isn't infatuated with.

"Uh... Fluffy. They call me Fluffy."

"Fine, Fluffy, you go learn magic. Tulip, you help him. If anything shiny gets in her way, you have to block it or she'll go brain dead and piss me off. Now, where is October again? I need to find him."
