Hello furry and scalie ones. This is my first story. The first part is the introduction to my character and his family. Then, Chapter 1 begins. After each Chapter a few years go by in Double D's life, for I do not plan on writing 28 Chapters. I am hoping I can write my story in about 5 chapters.
The story is told by the character. So, if you hear "I" and "my" in the story A LOT, that's why.

Intro
Hi my name is Michael but everyone knows me better by my nickname DD or Double D, whichever. It is short for Dragondog. Yes, it is as you may think, I am a Half breed and/or hybrid. I am half lizard, half canine. I am 21 years old, I have grey fur, with a smooth, blue color, soft, scalie underbelly. My tail is reptilian but it's covered in fur. My eyes are lizard like, meaning they are slitted and are gold in color. The fur on my head is grey too, and I like to keep it short and spiked, my ears are canine with blue on the inside and grey fur on the outside.

His wings are 26 feet wide. They are covered in soft, sensitive membranes, and are gold in color. Those wings are what won over my Mother. In fact, that's how male dragons get mates by how impressive their wings are. But, I, being half canine, did not get my wings and I got teased a lot, especially from the other dragons. And, that's how I got my other nickname, "Wingless Wonder."
Having no wings is not the best thing because in the dragon species, only females are without wings. Yes, some do get theirs but that is probably because their male genes are more dominate then their female genes. So, it is very rare. Without my wings I became more appealing to males than females. Now, I have nothing against going out with a male, but there are those that would take advantage of me and did. I will tell you later.
I am not an only child. I did have a brother, but *sniff, sniff* it is hard to talk about. *cough* *clears throat* Anyway, sorry about that, I will tell you about him though. He was my brother and my hero. His name was James, he was canine like Mother. His fur I loved the most because it was so unique looking, but it worked for him. He had black fur with a gold belly and a blue tint on the inside of his ears. James was the kindest fur I knew. He was never rude, always thought of others first, and never thought of hurting anyone. Ah, the nickname my Dad would use to get her going. She just loved that name. And there is no real reason to it.
After they put little James to bed and made sure the house was locked up for the night, it was time for baby making. Once they reached their room and both were inside, they shut and locked the door.
