This was an absolute surprise to come from utterly nowhere! My buddy Chazcatrix was chatting with me one day, and out of nowhere offered me one of two designs he was working on! I didn't ask for it, I didn't work any deal out, just "Hey, I created two designs, you want one?" And here we are!

Within only a few days, I had come up with a name, a bit of an interesting history that makes him worth looking into as part of my world's history, and a charming personality that could, theoretically, warm the heart of any he came in contact with!

Enjoy this little bit of profile, history, and a scene that I hope to one day lead into some sexy interactions with other characters in and around Talba's castle!

Chiryn Amaet

Species - Capricorn

Race - Blend of Cockatrice and Ulokar, two races previously thought to not be cross-compatible

Gender - Male (Feminine)

Height - 140cm/4'7"

Weight - 55kg/121lbs

Sexuality - Pansexual

Personality:

Chiryn Amaet is a tiny hybrid creature - comprised of equal parts shark, avian, stallion, and dragon - who has been travelling through the central region of Dalon for over a year, looking for a place to call his home. His attitude is forever positive and his flame of passion for life is seemingly incapable of being doused by the negativity of the world that surrounds him. No matter what happens in his life, he smiles and moves on for better or for worse, and he never lets a set-back slow his appetite for optimism.

He's a little shy, bashful, and demure, but not averse to using his charm and charisma to get his way - especially if 'his way' somehow manages to make everyone happy. Though he has dedicated his short life to helping others, he's not entirely selfless; he intends to share the best vibes, but never at the expense of his own power of positivity. He would do anything for another, as long as it didn't somehow compromise his morals or challenge his world view.

In that sense, he can be seen as quite manipulative and selfish if viewed in the right light, but the contrary that he never seems to be the cause of actions that bring harm to others is something of a revelation wherever he left his mark, right up until he found the tropical region in Epicelia known as Arrenthen, ruled over by a king and queen most known for their liberation of those less fortunate or those without the free will of their own needed to carve out a better life for themselves from the fabric of Dalon's cloth.

This is a bit of history about his quest to use that free will he has unburdened by the painful memories of the past to do well by the heart and soul of others.

=========================================

Queen Talba Ebonoldty and King Vaulix Arraidama rule together in Castle Arrenthen, the parliament buildings in the city of Arrenthen, which was in the southwest corner of the nation of Arrenthen. Their home was nestled in the crook of two mountain ranges and right at the epicenter of a sprawling delta that was woven through the great Arrenthen Basin.

The unique location of their castle and the city that surrounded it made the capitol of Arrenthen known as one of the most well fortified, impenetrable fortresses in all of Dalon. In nearly four centuries of ongoing conflict, that was one castle that was never breached, invaded, or taken by unwanted aggressors. For this reason, the entire capitol city has developed quite an interesting culture of consumerism, arts, entertainment, and academia. Without the threat of war knocking at their door, the populace focused their energy on leisure activities and recreation while the royal guard instead were tasked with defending the city, under-staffed as they may be.

Furthermore, the castle itself eventually turned into a pseudo tourism destination, where guests and locals both were invited into the grand hallways to meet with the king and queen while also dining at the restaurant that at one point catered to royals and nobles only. All in all, it's a welcoming spot for any and all who wanted to visit, get a dose of culture, or be in the presence of a king and queen that both wanted nothing more than to make their people happy.

Given the king and queen's propensity for charity and desire for freedom for all, much of their energy was spent not on ruling - they had entire parties full of people who took care of the political minutiae for them - but on their own personal quest to make the world a better place by freeing as many from slavery as they could. Their task was always the same, to travel abroad with bags of coin hanging from their hips while buying up as many enslaved as they were able to carry on the ship. Housmaidens, sex slaves, children, elderly, and everything in between were on the menu for the generous rulers of Arrenthen.

After buying them with the implied desire to abuse them to their fullest extent, the former slaves were then taken back on a royal frigate to the shores of the mother land, where they were then informed that they'd been liberated, and would be free to go where they chose while also being offered a job for meager but fair wages as servants in the castle. There, they would be fed, given rooms of their own, and housed free of charge while also getting some coin of their own to spend on what they wished - usually on the entertainment that the town was most known and revered for.

At the end of a one year tenure at the castle, most hard working former slaves were offered a bag of coin - enough to settle down their own home - and gently urged out the door to make a life for themselves with their new-found freedom. Most took this deal as a well earned bonus and left the capitol on the best of terms with the queen, but some chose to stay, dedicating their lives to the rulers that had been kind enough to give them the life they never thought they'd have to themselves.

Though the network of reformed slaves-turned-servants was quite wide in the castle, Talba was shocked to one day hear that a tiny, peculiar looking hybrid creature by the name of Chiryn Amaet had actually spent his own time and money travelling to Arrenthen to work in the castle, like a liberated slave would have. He had infinite possibilities before him and the coin to make it happen, yet chose to serve others for a meager pay and a nice place to stay with others who chose to serve rather than go out on their own.

He had no known history as being property of another, his race was apparently unique to any others that Talba and Vaulix had seen, and he only had the clothes on his back and a small bag of valuable coin on his hips when he arrived, asking for a place in the castle. Naturally, Talba felt this rather peculiar and denied him entrance due to the fear of an assassination attempt, but in time (and with the help of a telepath), he was deemed safe and sincere in his desires to serve. Even if he hadn't been granted impunity from fear, his chipper attitude and straightforward nature ensured he was seen as genuine from horn to tail tip.

The arrival of Chiryn seemed innocent at first, but after meeting with the little chimera, Vaulix decided that it would be best to keep him around. Though the queen initially insisted that only reformed slaves were granted a role in the castle, Vaulix felt something deep and powerful within Chiryn's tiny frame. A hidden strength that not even Chiryn knew he possessed. Vaulix had mentioned to Talba that the little creature's frame was home to a great reservoir of charged ademane, the energy stored deep inside him, masked by his own subconscious desire for peace and harmony.

Within days, the chipper little scamp was blending into the environment with ease. Talba was happy to give him a role in the castle, but expected him to live off premises due to the fact that he had no need to be harbored and eased into home life following a liberation that he never experienced. He refused to talk of his past, but was no slave, so he had no need for charity. Instead, he rented an apartment on the second floor of a nearby blacksmith shop near the castle, and walked to 'work' every morning, joining the other servants and workers in the breakfast hall before the day's chores were to be handled.

This lasted for weeks before issues started to arise with some of the others.

Chiryn was happy to be brought into the fold with the slaves that had grown to call the castle their home, but his arrival wasn't seen as the most pleasant for some of the longest tenured, who resented Chiryn for not living the same life of hardship they had to suffer through in order to be gifted with such liberty and generosity. In the eyes of some, Chiryn hadn't 'earned' his keep in the castle, so he was treated as a hostile invader. Two castle maids in particular - Mikhail and Arnika - took particular ire with him, at least at first.

Both of those two - the longest tenured favorites of the king and queen - were eager to voice their displeasure to the other servants and maids, and when word got back around to Talba, the queen had a good, long talk with them about the universal theme of acceptance in the castle.

Of course, a simple speech wasn't enough to tamper their hatred for the one who was invading on the one bit of life and land they'd come to call their own. In a weird twist of fate, however, they abandoned their ire and seemed to change their mind on him overnight. Immediately after their change of heart, they warmed to his presence and were happy to share space with the enigmatic chimera.

In fact, pretty much everybody in the castle and surrounding city came to love Chiryn. Despite being a paltry 4'7" tall, he had the biggest heart in all the lands next only to Vaulix. He donated nearly all of the spare money he made to local children or would straight up buy food for beggars on a regular basis. Though being relatively shy and bashful by nature, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind, share his thoughts, and exert power over others, in an odd way.

On the outside, he appeared to be a weakling, but anyone who came to know him quickly learned that he was a powerful, dominant submissive; depending on his mood, he could easily be seen as either. He was eternally polite, never threatened others, and maintained a chipper attitude even in the wake of emerging conflict, yet always managed to get what he wanted. If someone threatened him or refused him for whatever reason, all he needed to do was flash a toothy grin, say a few words of 'encouragement', and pretty much any would be happy to bend to his will.

One of the things that Mikhail and Arnika originally hated about him was that he was quite manipulative. He was always smiling when he thought it would get him what he wanted; he always pouted when he knew it'd guilt someone into giving him something; and he had no problem flat out crying or teasing a few sobs when he wanted to make someone feel bad.

After that night when their views of him changed, Mikhail came out as describing Chiryn's personality as 'manipulative, but always with the best intentions; the little guy does what he can to be in control of a situation, but always with the interests of all parties involved in his mind'. A particularly interesting way to describe someone who so easily got what their way by coasting on charm and charisma.

Time passed, and eventually Chiryn grew to be one of the queen's favorites, as his charisma was like a vaccuum that sucked the hearts of any around him. It wasn't until any conflict surrounding him died down and dissipated that Vaulix decided to take some time to get to know Chiryn Amaet. This is their encounter.

=========================================

"Chiryn, my dear, can you come with me?" Vaulix asked as he entered the room that Chiryn was cleaning. Arnika was there, too, as help. The two servants had been laughing and joking about their roles at the castle before the king's unexpected visit.

In most circumstances when a king entered the room, folks would bend a knee in respect, but Vaulix insisted people not do that and the servants they hired to keep the castle clean were actually chastised for such actions. Instead, Chiryn offered a gentle bow with one arm folded over his belly while his tail lowered and curled behind him. "Yes my king? What can I do for you?"

Arnika bowed as well, but her ears flattened a bit against the back of her head. Her keen canine nose could practically smell something was off, but she couldn't quite place it so she didn't say anything.

"To be entirely honest, I would like to get to know you a bit better!" Vaulix chirped with a smile, his flamboyantly colored wings spreading a bit as the plumage on his avian half fluffed out. "Nothing serious, I just want to take a walk together, you and I."

Chiryn was no fool, he could also tell something was peculiar about the situation. Still, he wasn't one to allow himself to jump to conclusions or assume the worst; his mentality usually twisted his image of reality to seek out the most positive possible outcome. At first he hesitated, but quickly responded. "Uh, sure! I'm okay with that. I still get paid though, right? Like, you're not firing me or anything I hope!" His tone was upbeat and jovial, hiding a subtle hint of worry.

Vaulix waved a hand, rolling his eyes. "Oh skies above no. Like I said, nothing bad. You've been a wonderful pair of hands here and I'm sure the others would be happy to have you around if for no other reason than the cheer you bring. Still, I would like to have a conversation with you about-" He paused a moment to rub his chin - the hard beak like snout of a cockatrice - before clicking his tongue to the roof of his mouth in exclamation. "-About your particular set of skills. Arnika, my sweet girl, could you leave the two of us be?"

She squinted her eyes at the king in distrust a moment before nodding. "Yes my king." With that, she gave Chiryn's gold plated shoulder scales a gentle pat and rushed out the nearest door to join up with the other servants.

Once alone, King Vaulix let out a long, drawn out sigh as he slumped back on the couch, wings spread the full distance from arm rest to arm rest, hands up on the back of it for a moment while he waited for Arnika to shut the door behind her. He crossed lifted an ankle to his opposite knee and tapped his calf with his fingers, amber eyes staring intently at Chiryn as the white flesh around them started to glow a light shade of teal - The same color as his wings. "Do you know why I've requested your time today, my dear?"

Chiryn curled his tail up under himself, the tip pointing forward between his feet to give him something to lean and balance on; the width of it and the flatness of the ventral scales actually made it a nice makeshift chair for him as he crossed his hands on his lap and blinked innocently at the king, his own eye color shifting to the same teal as Vaulix's eye-rings. "I really don't, I'm sorry to say. Truth be told, I'm quite curious but I trust you'll tell me when you're ready. I get the sense you've got a great reason that you're waiting to reveal, so I'll sit here patiently until you are ready." He nodded in a respectful bow, barely able to contain his gaze from glancing around the room, struggling to keep his focus on the king.

Vaulix shifted on the couch, slowly folding his wings back up in an odd way that left the wing elbows down with most of the feathers flat on the little groove at the base of the back rest that was initially designed to hold tails. "Well, it's just about you, as a person. As an entity. As a part of this castle's wonderful staff. Your existence concerns me, and I feel the need to investigate a bit more before I feel I can truly test you." He nodded and averted his gaze before taking in a deep breath; he knew very well that he had to tread lightly with how he spoke and what he said.

"Oh? I'm not sure what you mean by that, Vaulix." He paused to scratch at the base of his horn. "I mean, I am pretty sure I've told you all I can about me, what else do you want to know?"

"Everything, my friend. Everything." Vaulix stood up straight, his much larger body looming tall over Chiryn. The king was a massive 275cm tall, compared to Chiryn's diminutive 140cm. It would have been intimidating for most if not for the fact that Vaulix had a reputation for kindness and compassion beyond all others.

"B-but I told you everything I know, I promise! Remember, you even had a well respected telepath look into my mind to see what was missing!" He wasn't desperate, but he was quite eager to get to the bottom of this rather peculiar situation.

Vaulix got down to one knee while still towering over Chiryn. "I know, and I believe you. That's the problem. See, I'm not sure if you know this about me, but I am quite a capable telepath myself. Far greater than the one we hired to ensure you weren't here to harm us. Also, my empath abilities lend me a special sort of link to my subjects when practicing healing magic, so I can guarantee I can read what you think and feel what you feel at any given time. I know you're telling the truth, but there's a significant blank spot in your history that I mean to discover. I've never met anyone with memories repressed to thoroughly that even I couldn't extract them."

"O-oh, I see." He lowered his head a bit and closed his eyes, thumbs fiddling at each other as his entire form drooped, long silver hair flattening to the back of his neck as the color in his scales and stripes faded a bit. He had a bit of a camouflage ability that allowed his patterns and textures on his skin to change at will, and it was clear he was showing a deep rooted shame. The topic of his past and lack of memories had come up before and he nearly left in tears when he realized that he had absolutely no recollection of anything before a year or so back. For some strange reason, he lived his life as if that part of his past didn't exist and never needed to; the lack of memory of his parents or childhood was unnerving, but his state of mind was in a constant state of flux to find the best possible demeanour, so he couldn't let it get to him unless others brought it to the forefront of his mind.

To him, he wanted only to be happy, to please others, and to ensure that his life was filled and surrounded with joy, delving on a past he couldn't recall did nothing to make his life or the life of his friends better, so he focused nearly all of his energy on other things like cleaning, cooking, and sex. Lots of sex. Due to his briefly remembered life, he held nearly no taboos about sex and was free to indulge in any curiosity that piqued his interest.

This was quite possibly one of the things that turned the mood of Mikhail and Arnika, two blokes known for their sexual exploits among the servants and even had a bit of a history with king and queen both.

Vaulix extended an arm out to Chiryn, embracing him in a close hug as his down puffed up for comfort. "I know, I know it's hard, and I understand how you feel more than anyone could possibly understand, but there are answers I need from you. Maybe not this day or the next, but one day. I want you to know that I feel the same way you do, I want my people to be happy, I want my friends to be content, and I want my subjects to enjoy the peace and serenity I hope to share. But like I said, your missing memories mixed with a few other enigmas buried deep within you are certainly things that I feel the need to uncover and expose."

Chiryn pulled pack and clasped his hands over his muzzle. "No, I don't want to be exposed, I-I...don't have anything to expose, do I?"

"No, that's a good thing. If you had secrets to hide I'd have plucked them from your mind within minutes of you being here in my kingdom. See, that's what makes you so interesting. I've met others with amnesia, and I've dealt with those brainwashed in the past, and I can always find some shreds or remnants of their old selves buried within the labyrinth of their mind. But you-" He paused to poke Chiryn's cute little snout. "You remain an enigma, your past still eluding me despite months of being within close proximity to me."

He blushed and chirped a bit as he stepped away a bit farther. "So what does this mean? For me, I mean. For the others."

Vaulix stood back up only to sit back on the couch, wing extended and arm raised to invite Chiryn up on his lap, which the little guy happily accepted. After cradling Chiryn in his wing, Vaulix stroked the hybrid's cheek and smiled down at him. "Honestly, probably nothing. Talba and I are the only ones who know about your anomalous void of memory. I'm a healer and a king, but I have a past as a scientist as well and anomalies like that interest me. I've never, ever met someone who just didn't have a history to speak of, and I know you're not only a few years old, so I know you existed before your life seems to have began. That interests me, and I'd like your permission to one time probe your mind a bit deeper. See if I can find anything."

"I thought you said you were always probing the minds of those around you? Am I mistaken? Did I misunderstand you some how?" He snuggled up into Vaulix's wing and closed his wide eyes in a slow blink before starting to purr.

"Awww, you're such a cutie." Vaulix cooed at Chiryn as he held him in closer with his wing. "And you didn't misunderstand, but I don't feel I explained properly. Allow me to elaborate." He paused to pore over his thoughts in his head before continuing. "When I come near someone - especially someone I'm not familiar with - I will allow my telepathic abilities to lightly probe at their mind while my latent empathy scans their heart for their underlying intentions. This is mostly subconscious to me and I am constantly bombarded by the thoughts and emotions of those around me, but when I concentrate this energy, I can get a more complete picture of one's personality. With you, I've mostly just been idly allowing myself to gleam the surface details about you as a person, but all I can find is a brisk life behind you and a big heart."

Vaulix stopped for a moment to lock eyes with the hybrid creature in his wing and arm, only to smile. He felt a kinship with Chiryn, but couldn't quite explain it, and he was okay with that. He still had an explanation to finish. "So of course I've been concentrating a bit more and more of my mind on revealing yours. The more time you spend here, the more I'm able to map out your history back to the first time you woke up in that tavern with no memory of who you were, but there's nothing before that. No dreams, no records of your existence aside from the ledger in that inn's books, and no memories to speak of. I just really, really want to get through the wall that blocks off that part of your life, but it's like your mind has been entirely wiped of all your past, save the skills and knowledge needed to survive. Either you suffered some immense trauma, or a very, very powerful telepath has wiped your soul of its history."

Chiryn's eyes went wide as his breathing became labored. "So you're saying someone completely wiped my mind from before that day? Or that maybe a potion-"

"No, no. No potions. There are no concoctions made even by the gods themselves that could scrub your memories clear from your mind. Remember, if you were just erased, there would still be some remnants to uncover or unlock, but there's nothing. Just blank, emptiness. I only know of one telepath who is also one of the few in the world who can commit mind control remotely, and even she's never seen anything like this."

A smile spread across Chiryn's face, showing his fangs. "It was the bat lady, right? Valencia, I think you called her?"

There was a brief pause before Vaulix nodded gently. "Yeah, she was the one. And her race is called bachier, she doesn't like being called a bat; she just resembles a bat, is all." He chuckled and grabbed Chiryn's legs up to straddle them across his lap and the couch instead of letting them dangle over his knee. "Still, she looked into it and even she didn't have the ability to wipe your mind like that. This kind of scares me, and the immense power I can feel in you only makes me a little more scared, if you want the honest truth."

"I always want the truth, Vaulix. Sometimes it's not pleasant, but there is always value in truth and honesty, I wouldn't want you to hold that back from me in some misguided attempt to protect me from myself or others. I just want to know the most I can, help where I'm able, and offer myself in any way to any cause I feel in my heart. So, why are you afraid of me?" His cure visage morphed into a somewhat more serious one before he chirped and shook off the dour mood that was creeping up his spine.

Vaulix shrugged. "I'm not afraid of you, as far as I can tell, but I know there's something in you that is worth looking into a bit deeper. I know you remember the few times you allowed your latent powers to manifest in violent ways, and I know it haunts you to this day. Those memories are brutal enough that even I as a military healer find them horrifying, yet you have that power in you and your mind never seems to stray far from that chipper attitude you always display. One could call you sociopathic, but I know for nearly certain that your impenetrable optimism is genuine. At least I hope so."

"Oh, it is, my king! It is!" He nodded enthusiastically and stuck his tongue out. "You know how I am! I don't let anything get the better of me! Everything in life is a chance to make the world a better place, an opportunity for self improvement or pride!"

"Indeed, my dear. I wish more people shared your unyielding optimism and apparent inability to harbor negative emotions. I see a lot of myself in you, but you lack the underlying pain of the unpleasant memories that forged me into who I am. That's something to be proud of, Chiryn, and I want you to forever hold onto that. However, I also want to probe a bit deeper into your mind with your permission some time. Perhaps a concentrated, hypnotic deluge into your mindscape will allow me the ability to unlock more of your past, should it be there. Would you allow me the honor of that?"

As Chiryn was about to answer, there was a knock at the same door that Arnika had left through. Vaulix sighed a bit before answering it.

"You may come in." Vaulix called out, still holding Chiryn in his wing. He glanced backwards over the rest of the sofa to see Mikhail poke his head in through the red-wood door.

"My king, I apologize, but-" He paused for a moment to see Chiryn's head poke up from behid Vaulix's wing. He was distracted, but unphased. "But the queen requests your presence. Said she'd love for you to join her and a few others in the banquet hall for a 'lovely brunch'. Her words, not mine." He paused again to look over to Chiryn before closing the door behind him, hands crossed over himself as he bowed in respect.

"I appreciate the message. Thank you for your time, Mikhail." Vaulix urged Chiryn off his lap and got to his feet, shaking out the feathers and walking over to Miki. He turned back to face Chiryn again, who was sitting back down on his curved tail like his own personal chair. "I will have my leave, but I insist you think about what we discussed today, Chiryn. I'd love for you to find more about your past, and I'd love to help in that goal. For now, I have a feast to attend, which I'd be happy to invite you to, should you be so inclined." he gave a polite bow before slipping past Mikhail to leave the two chimera in the room together.

Certainly, Miki while have a few questions about the presence of the king.

=========================================

After that discussion, Chiryn took while to build up the courage to allow someone to go digging in his mind so aggressively, but backed out when he learned it could possibly bring some of his history to light that might hurt his aggressively positive disposition. He did agree to allow Vaulix and Valencia to do the procedure on him, but is still waiting on a time in his life where he is able to mentally prepare for it.

He's still waiting to have that part of himself brought back to the surface. In the mean time, he's happy to maintain a positive attitude with all those around him by dedicating his time to the kingdom, its peoples, and the rulers that so generously offer themselves to the less fortunate.

In Chiryn's mind, Vaulix and Talba were two forces of pure good, and their kindness helped carve one of the richest nations in the world both in economy and culture. Chiryn wanted to be a part of something special, and chose their home to be the place he did it. In the year of travel after his awakening in the tavern that one fateful morning showed to him that this was the place he belonged.

Even if Vaulix's revelation about him made him question himself as a force for good.
