Kit's beginning.

Kit, the light orange and white fox, rose up out of the hard cushioned mattress that he had come to know as his bed. He quickly searched around the mattress to find his phone before grabbing it and checking the time.

At almost the exact same second he got it close enough for his still sleepy eyes to see, it flashed a bright white and began buzzing off an annoying tune loudly, signaling to the fox, without even having to look, that it was 5:40, the time he needed to be up everyday Monday through Friday to get clean, get his stuff, and make it on time to his classes on time.

As the fox hurried outside the run-down apartment to his class he locked the door behind him and began his way down the stairs.

"Hey Kit." Yelled an elderly voice from across the balcony. It was Ms. Mcmane, an elderly tiger with tan, faded yelled fur striped with graying black.

"Good morning Ms. Mcmane, if I may, why are you out here so early, the sun has barely began to show itself." Kit chuckled as he looked at the elderly fur stare of into the beautiful pink the sun had created in the clouds above while he made his way down the final step and stopped to listen to the her.

"Oh ya know, just the usual hun." She sighed in contempt as she continued to stare.

"The usual?" Kit was slightly confused as to what ‘the usual' was.

"Yea, some sorry bastard called me a whore yesterday, so I figured I'd go and slash their tires or something of the sort." She smiled at him cheerfully. Add that to her 78year old age, you'd think she was playing, but Kit knew better.

"I love you Ms. Mcmane, you're the toughest, meanest, nicest, most tender person I know." Kit giggled. Ms. Mcmane was the first fur to come up to Kit when he first moved into these ghetto apartments he now called home.

"Oh I love you to baby boy, you know I'd gladly take a bullet for you..." She paused for a quick second and made a gun shape with her index finger and thumb. "I'd take that bullet and shoot it off in whoever is stupid enough to mess with you."

Hearing this Kit couldn't help himself, his quiet giggling turned into loud fit of laughter.

"Alright, alright, enough play time, you need to head on off to your classes so you can make something more of yourself and get out of this shithole." The tiger stated as she began walking down the stares.

"Yes ma'am. Hope you have a good day Ms. Mcmane." Was all kit said before turning around as he began jogging his way to the road to make up for lost time.

Kit had moved into these apartments because of how close they had been to the college, and since he didn't have a car, it was sort of a necessity to be as close as possible. But not even a week had passed after he moved in before the cops and ambulances had surrounded the front area of were Kit's apartment was. It had turned out that a fur was killed there, beat to death. After that Kit had realized just how horrid this place really was, causing him to stay inside a lot, always scared of what might happen to him. But Ms. Mcmane had come to my apartment to see if I had a cigarette, and somehow we began talking, ever since she's always getting me outside with her to talk while she smokes.

It was a short walk to the college, and the fox usually got there early enough to goof off, but never did due to the lack of friends to goof off with. Everyone seemed to ignore Kit, and those who noticed him were anything but nice to him, all except for this one fur, a girl named Casandra. She was a beautiful vixen with ruby red, mixed with snow white fur. She had always acted friendly towards Kit, and after getting to know her more and more, the fox found himself secretly falling in love with her, but he never would have the courage to tell her for fear of scaring her away, or making things to awkward between them.

Classes moved along quickly, most of Kit's work was finished in class, and now he would be heading home to finish the rest, cook and the clean up and go to bed. Just like every other boring day, but Kit wasn't the type to complain.

As Kit was walking on the sidewalk, he realized that a black sportscar was slowing down to pull up beside the fox, keeping its speed equal to the fox's movement.

"What's a Kid like you walking out here in the heat like this?" Shouted off a thick masculine voice as the tinted window to the passenger side rolled down, revealing a handsome grey wolf driving the car.

"What's a guy like you becoming concerned about a ‘man' like me?" Kit replied slightly annoyed at being called a kid. But the wolf had a slightly good reason, Kit only stood about 5'6" and had a slender build, so he didn't exactly look 19.

"just concerned is all, c'mon, why don't you let me drive you home, I'll feel horrid if I don't." The wolf pleaded as he stopped the car in the middle of traffic and leaned over, sticking his paw near the window beckoning Kit to come.

Kit hesitated for a few seconds before walking over smiling cheerfully at the seemingly harmless wolf, as he got close enough to the door the wolf leaned more over and opened the door roughly slamming it into Kit's leg.

"YOuch!" Kit yelped aloud as he fell back on the ground grasping around his knee where a small amount of blood had began to form.

"I'm sorry, here let me help you!" The wolf exclaimed as he opened his door, still in the middle of traffic, and ran beside Kit, picking him up with ease and gently placing him inside the car, before taking a quick glance at the car door before shutting it. "Are you alright?" He asked as he began speeding off into the streets.

"Yea, its only a little gash." Kit said wincing a bit as he did his best to keep the blood from leaking onto the wolf's fancy car. Out of the corner of his eye he could see the apartments coming close. "My place is right up here."

The wolf began slowly turning into the apartment complex, only to see that a few cops were there arresting some fur. This caused slight fear to flood over the fox.

"This isn't the kind of place you should be, how bout we go get a drink or two instead, that is, if your ‘man' enough?" The wolf chucked.

"Yeah alright, and yes I'm man enough, I am 19." Kit stated, doing his best to seem more masculine to the wolf, instantly causing the wolf to burst into a roaring laughter as he drove off.

"Alright Mr. Macho." Was all the wolf said as they continued their drive.

Kit could only turn his head and blush at the embarrassment as he watched out the window. "Thanks by the way." Kit said getting the wolf to calm down a bit to hear him. "Ya know, for getting me away from there."

"Oh that, it's nothing for a cute fox like yourself." The wolf smiled slightly as he continued down the road.

Cute? Kit thought to himself. He wasn't sure what to make of it, but to him it had seemed like the wolf was hitting on him, but Kit paid no mind to it, reassuring himself that the wolf couldn't be gay, he wasn't flashy or flamboyant in any way, he was your everyday average straight fur. With this thought aside he continued to watch the road unable to think of anything else to say to the wolf.

"My name is Blaine, a pure bread wolf of the Marks family." The wolf as Blaine said with a slight hint of pride in his voice.

"Oh, my name's Kit Kennedy a Fox, I don't exactly have a family." Kit replied, seeming to pay more attention to the passing grass then he was at Blaine.

"Well it's nice to meet you Kit." Blaine said as he reached his arm over and gave Kit's shoulder a light taping rub.

Kit couldn't exactly tell what it was about Blaine, but when he had touched him like that Kit because slightly uncomfortable, causing Kit to be without words.

"We're here." The wolf finally broke the silence as the car came to a slow stop. Kit had been day dreaming the whole ride about his dream job before being snapped into reality by the wolf's words and began looking around, he soon realized that they weren't at a bar, but a big white building, it looked to be a rather large hotel.

The two furs were still parked a couple of yards away in a parking lot, which had a sidewalk leading from the center of the lot to the building, with a large fountain in the center, as he looked more he noticed neatly trimmed bushes of flowers growing around the building and some throughout the yard.

"A hotel?" Kit questioned in awe of the amazing, assumed to be expensive hotel.

"My house." Blaine stated as he got out of the car.
