#3 of New to Town

Can I just say how happy I am that I finally got this all updated?

I'll seriously try to not fill each description with self-pride xD

Sunlight shone in through the window; Sam being closest to the window groaned as the light hit his face, slumping out of bed shielding his eyes as he closed the shade. He looked up at the sound of footsteps, and a knock as John peeked in, seeing the brown wolf. "Ah, Sam you're up. Can you get Chase up for me? The movie starts at 12:30, just enough time for you two to get ready."

Sam looked at the other sleeping wolf, then to John and nodded. "Sure. We'll be down in a bit." John smiled and stepped back downstairs, while working on fixing his tie. Sam looked back to Chase and smirked, poking Chase's nose. "Hey? Wake up hehe." Chase's nose wiggled as he turned over on his front, with a noise of protest. "Hmm..." Sam had an idea.

He leaned in and gently brushed his fingers over Chases' now exposed sides, who immediately made a noise and sat up, with his pillow as a shield. "Okay! I'm up! Just...No more tickling heh..."

Sam gave a hearty laugh. "Ticklish?"

Chase wrinkled his nose. "No...What's up?"

"We gotta get ready, your dad said the movie starts at 12:30." He said pointing at the clock. Chase saw the time and scrambled out of bed, and walked to his closet.

"Well, if you want to shower you can go first. I'll wait on you, it's downstairs, first door on the right." Chase said picking out some jeans and a shirt.

Sam nodded and rubbed the back of his head, giving a nervous chuckle. "Yeah..So hey do you have an clothes that would fit me? I didn't bring anything to wear. I guess I could just wear what I did last night."

Chase shook his head. "No, that's fine. Look in my closet and wear whatever you want, I guess while you do that I'll get showered first. Sam nodded; after Chase walked off he picked himself some clothes and walked downstairs, sitting on the couch watching the news that was on, while Chase showered. Once he was out and Sam showered, John called from the kitchen to ask if they were ready.

Both boys got in John's truck, and he drove them to the theater a few miles away. John handed chase some money. "This is for the tickets, and some snacks. Don't spend too much or you're going to be walking back, there should be enough for tickets, snacks, and a cab." Both boys nodded, and John gave Chase a hug as he got out. "And try not to destroy the house while I am gone!" He said with a chuckle. "I'll see you both tomorrow."

Chase waved as his dad drove off, and then turned and walked with Sam inside. "Thanks so much for inviting me to come see this with you, I've wanted to see it ever since I saw it was out." Sam said with a wagging tail.

Chase grinned. "No problem! It's better to see movies with a friend, than alone." Sam's face flushed at the friend comment, he had never really felt like anyone cared to be friends with him.

They both purchased their tickets, and bought drinks, saving the money for the cab, with some left over. By the time they got into the theater, the previews were on the last few. Deciding on seats in the back, they filed in the middle, being a small town, the theater was empty minus a few silhouetted individuals in the front.

"Can you see? We can move, but personally at scary movies I don't like being so close to the screen heh..." Chase said with a nervous chuckle.

"No these are fine." Sam said, sitting back and looking at the screen as the previews finally ended and the movie began.

A few minor jumps and scares in, the movie was halfway in when Sam leaned in and whispered. "Betcha she's in a daydream, like that one guy said."

Chase leaned in, eyes locked on the screen. "What makes you say that...Everything seems- Ah!" Chase made a little noise as he gave a little startle, bumping against Sam, staying there, nudging against his shoulder.

Sam looked over at the figure against him. "Heh, you okay?" He asked with a tilt of his head.

Chase's face had gone red, as he looked over out of the corner of his eye. "W-who me? Yeah fine heh, it just kind of surprised me is all."

Sam's face had gone red as well, but the dark theater hid all. "Good thing I was here, or you may have fallen right out of your chair." He said with a small chuckle

Chase suddenly realized he was lying against Sam's shoulder and quickly sat upright. "Yeah..Thanks."

After the movie, Chase and Sam called a cab back to the house, and stepped inside, both sighing out as they flopped on the couch. "I'm telling ya, those theater seats sure are uncomfortable" Chase said, squirming on the couch.

Sam glanced over. "Yeah, they are." He swore Chase had just been looking at him, but had quickly turned his head away, to the end table to grab the TV remote, face hidden from Sam. "You okay? You seemed a bit quiet on the ride here. Heh did that crummy theater soda upset your stomach or something?"

Chase shook his head. "Nah, hey you hungry? There's a pizza in the freezer we can cook up." Sam realized he was indeed pretty hungry, the two deciding to skip out on the popcorn and save the money to get larger drinks.

Chase got up and got the pizza in the oven, and returned as the two watched TV and talked. By the time the pizza finished both boys walked into the kitchen, Chase grabbing a knife to slice the pizza.

"So is your dad usually gone like this a lot?" Sam asked, looking around the kitchen.

"Sometimes, he'll be back tomorrow though, he's been gone longer at times depending on if he needs to go out of to- Ow!" The knife clattered onto the counter, and Chase held his finger as some crimson beaded up from a fresh cut. Chase groaned as Sam quickly helped him to the bathroom. "Ow...I wasn't paying attention and slipped the knife..."

Sam looked in the mirror, and grabbed some peroxide and cotton balls. "It's not that bad...It doesn't look too deep. May I?" Sam said pointing to the finger. Chase nodded raising his hand to Sham, who gently took it in his own, and dabbed the finger with the cotton ball. Chase hissed through his teeth and looked away, a blush playing on his cheeks at the attention. "Does it sting?" Sam asked with concern.

"Mhmm..." Chase nodded.

"Well that means it's working, heh." Sam noticed Chase kept adverting his eyes. "You okay?"

"Yeah..." Chase nodded again.

Sam gave a little smile. "C'mon...I can't see your eyes when you're looking away." Immediately Sam realized he had just said what he was thinking aloud. Chase already looking up.

"You...like seeing my eyes?"

Sam got red and rubbed the back of his head. "Well yeah...I like your eyes...They're like little moons..." Chase's blush intensified and he giggled a bit much to his attempt to resist, looking away nervously. "Well uh, the pizza will get cold, so we should go get some before then." Sam said, keeping Chases hand in his own, and tugging him along. 'He sure is acting strange...maybe...'

Chase followed, looking at their hands, curious just what this other wolf thought, whether he could really see why Chase was so shy all of a sudden around him. "Wanna play some games after we eat?"

Sam grinned "Hell yeah! I think I'm getting a lot better!" He said cheerfully.

Chase chuckled. "We shall see."

After grabbing some sodas, and a few slices of pizza. The two made way to Chase's room and switched on his system, spending the last few hours, controllers in hand, watching the sprites battle across the screen, by the time that got boring they decided to switch on some regular TV.

"Hey, Sam?" Chase began.

Curious he looked over tilting his head. "Yeah? What's up?"

Chase's ears dropped back as he lost his words. "Nevermind...It's nothing." Chase replied.

"Oh...Okay." Sam said, then smirked. "C'mon what's with the gloomy look? Give me a smile." Sam began, leaning in tackling the other wolf to deliver a flurry of tickles at his sides. Caught off guard by the assault, Chase couldn't help but break, and laughed, falling onto his back curled up clutching his side, as Sam followed him down, laughing. Sam stopped, with Chase looking up at Sam, slightly blushing as their gazes met, Sam tilted his head.

"You've been doing that all day."

"D-doing what?"

"Your face gets this look, lost in thought."

"Chase's blush become more noticeable now. "You...Noticed that...?" Chase said with a nervous chuckle.

Sam nodded and grinned. "So what is it? Some cute girl on your mind? Does she go to our school?" Sam asked, in reality saying the words didn't feel right. He felt a connection to the other wolf.

"Not quite..." Chase rubbed the back of his head, his eyes getting low. Sam's heartbeat quickened a bit, he wasn't exactly sure why.

"Well." He started, looking at Chase. "Then what is?"

Chase's chest rose and the breath left in a sigh as he looked back up at Sam. "You..."

The room got quiet, Sam's heart pounding in his chest, his face red as he realized now why he was so anxious. He had wanted the wolf for his own since nearly the first meeting, but wasn't about to ruin his happiness in the event that the other wolf had different feelings. Chase had done what he struggled to do. "...Me?"

Chase was shivering under him, despite the warm room. Nerves coursing through him miles per hour. "I..Wanted to tell you after the movie, but I wasn't sure how to explain what I felt...And it's also just been a couple days..."

Sam gave a soft smile. "Well...true but that doesn't mean anything. I know these last couple of days I've been with someone who has treated me nicer than anyone I've ever known. You.

Chase smiled. "Really?"

Sam nodded. "I was also having a debate on whether I should tell you how I really felt too...But I was afraid how you would take it, assuming that you were straight...And I guess I was scared that I would lose another friend.

Chase 's ears dropped back. "Sorry, maybe if I had told you I was gay when I found out you were...This would have gone a different way..." He looked down.

Sam shook his head rapidly. "I'm actually glad you didn't...I know that school, it would have probably been around the school in days, then you'd be in my predicament..." Sam said, mentally hitting himself, as he recalled coming out to his old friend. He smiled and gently tilted Chase's head up, so their eyes met. "If you want to give this a shot...I can't think of anything better."

Chase's eyes looked into the wolf's blue eyes, meeting well with his own silver, and smiled, and nodded. "I really want to."

Sam smiled, leaning in and embracing the other wolf. Both heartbeats combined, in the warm hug. Chase gave a small sigh and snuggled close to Sam. "Chase, have you ever kissed someone? You know...a real kiss."

Chase shook his head, and looked up. "No..I've never actually, been with anyone else."

Sam leaned in, a loving murr in his throat. "Well I know just how to start this..." He said, gently pressing his lips to Chase's, who laid his head back to the carpeted floor, wrapping his arms around Sam, as they made out. When the kiss broke, both males were softly panting looking at each other. Chase sighed.

"Sam...Do you think you can help me come out to my dad...I've been wanting to tell him, but was afraid of his reaction...And if you're there, maybe I can finally do it." Sam's mind was filled with moving figures, an violent, and angry. "Sam? Are you okay...?"

Sam blinked and gave a little smile. "Anything for you." He gently helped Chase sit up, and sat with his back to the bed side. Chase leaned in and nuzzled his shoulder softly, lying against him. They sat there for a bit, Chase was nodding off, his head sinking into the nook of Sam's neck.

Sam chuckled softly. "Getting tired?"

Chase nodded. "Yeah..." The two stood up, and moved into Chase's bed, getting undressed to their briefs and sliding under the covers. Chase didn't waste any time, snuggling against Sam who wrapped his arms around him. Nuzzling Sam's bare chest, he sighed contently. This felt right, and safe. "Goodnight, Sam." He said, closing his eyes.

Sam petted the back of Chase's head, as he stared ceiling, that angry figure moving through his mind. He sighed softly, looking down and smiling at Chase who was already asleep. Sam's own eyes closed, as he drifted off to sleep.
