#46 of Story Commissions

A story commission for a hunky wolf, Rexxwolfe / Skarnyena on Twitter. Involves his wolf and Thunder going into a business together, macro shenanigans ensue.

"Hold it...Almost there..."

Thunder grunted. The feeling in his arms were beginning to go away, slow pricking numbness forming in his wrists and biceps. He'd been holding this sign in different positions for the last ten minutes while his new co-worker barked directions at him on how to hold up the sign most effectively for their new shop. It was a new landscaping / gardening business, and each of them would handle a specific part in it, but generally, they would work together since their jobs went hand in hand. The titanic eastern dragon stood near the building they called their new job, holding the heavy sign near the metallic hooks that would keep it in place.

A grey wolf dressed in nothing but a pair of grey shorts and a tank top held up his hands in the shape of a square at the end of the block, his blond streaks of hair making him stick out almost immediately. The area around their shop had been marked down with construction tape and signs, even if they weren't using any machinery at all. Thunder was machinery enough at his size. Close to a story tall, he was more than effective at moving and lifting things without the noise pollution of trucks or cranes with almost as much destructive ability as well. The whiskered dragon was dressed with a pair of brown, fingerless gloves, an almost skintight orange shirt along with a gardening tool belt and baggy pants.

"Come on, did I get it yet? I'm about to lose all feeling in my arms!" Thunder whined loudly.

Rexx gave a deep hum as Thunder wiggled the sign around in his hands before he cried out, "Stop! It's perfect!"

Thunder put the sign onto the hooks, letting his arms fall with a sigh of relief. His toeless boots stomped across the street until he stood behind Rexx, his foot looming over the wolf only slightly and casting a shadow over the shop as well. The small building had been given a nice coat of dark green paint with a beige sign that read "Rexx and the Beanstalk" followed by their phone number. The two had put a lot of money into buying the place and getting all of their licenses together considering they had only met by chance.

Thunder expressed his need of a job to Rexx after meeting him a year ago from a mutual friend. With their equal love of agriculture and rather big things, the two hit it off well. Eventually, Thunder needed a job, and Rexx wanted to expand his love of gardening to a business, and the place was born. They opened up in a few days and got the paperwork sorted, as well as ads to be run in a few magazines and handed out flyers for their grand opening. A gardening shop wasn't going to bring in the big bucks immediately, but their spin of using a giant for landscaping seemed to attract attention in the good way.

"So, you think this'll work out well?" Rexx glanced up at Thunder with a smile.

Thunder wiped a few beads of sweat off his brow, sighing heavily, hands placed on his hips. "Don't know, guess we find out when we get calls." The dragon glanced around the block for a few moments. He'd noticed some folks staring as they passed by the block, as well as the cars in the street. It wasn't a heavily packed area, but all eyes were clearly on them for various reasons. "And why do I have to be the beanstalk, you could just as easily do it." He finished with a huff.

"Well," Rexx started. He leaned back on Thunder's foot, using one of his exposed toes as resting spot while he stared up at the tall drink of dragon above him. "I wouldn't be as much of a crowd drawer as you, my dear hunky beanstalk, heh." Rexx patted a bulky green toe as he finished, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Thunder's toes curled slightly as a dumb chuckle rose up from the giant.

"...Flatterer." Thunder mumbled.

"With good reason." Rexx continued. Thunder crossed his arms with a huff.

Soon afterwards, Rexx and the Beanstalk were open for business. The days that passed by were an opening day filled with promotions and passer-bys curious about the new blood in the neighborhood. The interior of the shop had been made to look like the namesake of the shop. A golden egg detailed their opening and closed sign, as well as vines that hung along the walls and the clerk table styled like a castle, complete with the giant at the front of it. Thunder surpassed Rexx in height at eight feet tall to his seven, but for the sake of business, the dragon was always tall and large while he and Rexx handled the promotions and general stuff in tandem.

"Fee Fi Fo Fum; I smell the ambitions of a customer! Be they dead, or be they with bread, we'll turn their green bread into...something, we need to work on that. Welcome, how can we help you?" Thunder scratched the back of his head with a nervous smile. The tiger couple that had come into the shop had no choice but to look up at the behemoth of a clerk next to the castle table and the register. He towered above mostly anyone that came into the shop at close to eleven feet tall, dressed in his usual gardening garb.

It took one of the couple to finally respond, at least until the wife, dressed in a spaghetti strap dress elbowed her suit wearing husband. "Ow! Well...we're new in the neighborhood. We're looking for someone to spruce up our yard, we live just a bit in the suburbs...Jeez, is that all you?" the tiger finished.

Thunder sighed a bit. To keep with the theme, Rexx requested that he do one more thing. He let out an uproar of a laugh, like that of a giant before he answered. "Yeah, it's a trade secret and all that. But yes, we should be able to help with whatever you need. If you want to talk details, just ask my co-worker." Thunder finished. He pointed a thumb beside him as Rexx snuck from the back door hidden from view due to the enormous counter, dressed in a pair of shorts with suspenders.

After introductions, Thunder and Rexx exchanged contact information with their first customers of the day. The couple had just moved in and the husband, being too busy with his home job and the wife at work, neither of them really had the time to take care of their yard. They wanted some low maintenance work and possibly a tree to be planted in the front yard since they lacked one. As the couple explained what they wanted, Thunder noticed that the two tigers kept giving him varying looks. It didn't help that his size garnered looks, but the way he scrunched himself to fit onto the table situated near the back of the shop made him look even larger. His ankle brushed against the edges of the table, his tail occasionally thumping against the ground, too.

Once all the details were sorted out, Thunder and Rexx had their first commission, even if it was uneventful.

The next few days were spent visiting their client's house for the sake of getting the lay of the land down. Normally, Rexx would have been the one to go over and get the dimensions of the yard, the materials they needed and more, but the wolf had an idea. The first day they were supposed to come over, the small neighborhood got a look at a giant striding down their streets. It was midday as Thunder walked down the street, his head crowning above the numerous one or two story houses. Every set of eyes in the small suburb had his eyes on him, every step and stride making the ground quake just a bit. Nothing truly moved, but cars would gently shake in his presence, his feet large enough to use any average car like roller skates if he wanted to.

It also didn't help that he was lost. The couple had given their address, but they didn't have their house number visible yet. As such, the titanic dragon was left doing the only thing he could do; ask and promote his business. As the whiskered dragon expected, people didn't take kindly to you when you were larger than their entire house and then some. Whenever Thunder gently crouched down, he could just rap his knuckle on the door as light he could or hit the floor in the same way.

"Um, hello..." Thunder sputtered as the door opened. This was the third house he'd hit up, everyone else either pretended they weren't home -he could still see through the windows with an eye- or offered some colorful language.

"I'm looking for this couple," The dragon said gently. The family inside consisted of two parents and their kid, the son looking up at him with his jaw open. Both parents had their kid behind their arms, but that didn't stop him from looking excited at the prospect of an actual giant. "Do you happen to know where they live?" Thunder asked.

"G-go down the block, take a left, it's the third house on the right side!" The kid chirped out from the safety of their house. The parents glared towards him to which he just shrugged his shoulders. "Come on, he looks so cool, though!"

Thunder's cheeks flushed at the compliment before he nodded his head in thanks. Before he stood up, he went through one of his pockets for something. It took the dragon a few seconds before he finally found what he was searching for. Two of Thunder's enormous fingers -each one was almost the size of the door- placed an almost hilariously small calling card for his size. It had their company name, address, phone number and a small castle with a crude drawing of himself and Rexx on it. Thunder placed it on their doorstep before standing up to his full height and walking off with a wave. "Call us if you want to fix up your garden! We can even do a tree house for the kid if you'd like."

With that, Thunder walked off in the direction they'd given him. His tail swished around happily, almost knocking into a few trees and cars along the way. Eventually, he finally arrived at the specified house. A yellow, two story house stood in front of the dragon, complete with the dead garden that they spoke of. The arbor dragon spied some patches of yellow, what looked like a neglected tree -he didn't think that was possible unless this place saw no rain- along with what looked like a pretty decent looking house.

"Um, hello?" Thunder's boomed accidentally. He cleared his throat and mentally berated himself. He needed to watch his tone of voice. "This is Rexx and the Beanstalk for a follow up, is anyone home?"

He waited for a few seconds before he started to gently rap against the door with his knuckle, then the ground with another gentle call out. It seemed that Thunder had gotten his attention, but not in the way he expected. A doberman, possibly a neighbor, stuck his head out of his window and barked out that he shut up since he was staving off a hangover. Despite his size, the enormous dragon flinched back from the ferocity of his complaint. The tables soon turned once the canine noticed the stature of whom he was complaining to.

"Holy shit...I must be hallucinating," the doberman grumbled before returning to his house to continue his sleep.

With a sigh, Thunder realized he was going to have to come back and check later. He glanced over to the side of the house to check the driveway. It was closed, but after shuffling around, he crouched close enough to the ground and was mindful of his tail and legs to not hit any cars on the street. He spied through the tiny window on the garage door and made out what looked like a car. Okay, so someone was home. The question was, why weren't they answering? Maybe they had their ears covered, or maybe they were asleep?

"But it's midday, and they both said they were busy but one of them always stayed home..." Thunder twirled a whisker between his fingers in thought.

It wouldn't be an invasion of privacy to check around the back, right? Thunder glanced around at both ends of the street, then above some of the houses by craning his neck. No one seemed to be looking in his direction. What was the harm? Thunder slowly stood up to his full height, the house only coming up to his chest. He tiptoed between both houses to the back yards, making sure to keep his tail raised so it didn't slam on anything. With minimal damage and effort, he made it to the back, which seemed just as worse as the front yard. Pushing that into his mind for later, he started glancing through the windows for any indication of life inside the house, keeping mindful of the fence that separated the yard from the other houses. He soon started with the window in the living room and found nothing there. When he glanced around the windows for what looked like the rooms, Thunder found his answer as to why no one was answering. There was someone in the house, yes, but they seemed to be in their own world, enough of their own world that they hadn't noticed a giant trespass on their territory.

The husband of the tiger couple was at home indeed, but he seemingly wore a pair of headphones and looked very distracted on his computer. He had the curtains pulled away, leaving the world open to see him and his provocative dancing for whoever passed by the back of the house. The sense of privacy must have felt astounding, considering the dragon immediately noticed that the feline lacked any bit of clothing whatsoever.

He did look rather hot though, Thunder thought. The dancing tiger, when he'd last seen him clothed, did not look like much underneath his clothing, but seeing him naked, Thunder noticed that he was considerably built and muscled in all the right areas. He couldn't see -why- he was dancing, but he didn't mind the view until he was spotted. The tiger let out a surprised yell as he fell to the floor in a heap and closed the curtains of his window.

"Um, sir, are you okay in there?" Thunder whispered.

He could hear the sound of various objects falling for a few moments until the tiger soon undid the curtains. This time, he wore a plain colored t-shirt and a pair of shorts, trying to look as nonchalant as possible as he stared up at the dragon out his window. "I-I thought you weren't coming until 2, haha...." He said, opening the window as high he could. "Why are you not...you know?"

"It is 2...almost 3 as a matter of fact; I was almost late because I got lost in the neighborhood. And boss thinks keeping size is a great way of promotion and validity, or something. But yeah, you-"

"Don't tell anyone, please." The tiger pleaded. "My wife is the only one who knows the details of my 'job'."

Thunder shrugged his shoulders and nodded. "I was going to say you have a nice bod, haha. Was not expecting that." Thunder mumbled under his breath. At his size, it was still loud enough to be heard by the feline.

After compliments were made, Thunder finally got to finish what he'd supposed to have been doing since his arrival. With the husband's help, he assessed what the couple wanted for their front and back yard along with what was actually needed. The dragon had decided that after the first few mishaps he in the neighborhood, to just shrink himself just a tad more. It was a sight to see for the feline, as the one house looming dragon turned himself at least twenty feet shorter so that he came up to the top of the first floor of the house from the outside. It made the sizing of the yard, as well as whispered comments from the tiger about Thunder's build much easier to deal with.

Once the planning stages were done by near evening, Thunder was left with several rolls of paper scribbled with ideas and suggestions. After exchanging a thanks and a secret pact with his feline client, he headed back to the city at his former size. The house looming dragon was sadly forced to watch his step even more so as cars came flooding in from the city, most likely those returning from their workday. He didn't think they had taken that long anyways, but what could one do? They at least would have a good story about how they saw a green giant cruising through their neighborhood or mark it off as a sign of extreme fatigue.

Once Thunder returned to the shop close to an hour later, Rexx stood at the dragon's usual post, the wolf now nearing 12 feet in height as he waved off some nervous, though happy customers. The blonde haired wolf was dressed in a pair of overalls, one of the straps loose on purpose, which revealed a rather amount of fuzzy grey pectorals. Thunder stepped in, the whiskered dragon nearing the same height and giving a wave to Rexx as he dropped off the papers.

"How'd it go?" Rexx asked as he walked over and gave the dragon a pat on his back and a quick peck on the cheek.

"Fine enough," Thunder shrugged, his face lighting up a bit from the gesture. "I thought you said no flirting on work grounds, it's unbusinessman-like, or something like that." He remarked. Rexx responded with a shrug of his shoulders and soon a wave of his arms.

"And it's near closing time, so that doesn't apply. Did something happen? Usually you don't mind me showering you with water or compliments." The canine laughed.

"Got lost, I'm sure I made a lasting impression on the client's neighbors, and I got to know the husband a lot more than I really needed to." Thunder explained, pulling out several rolled up papers and setting them on the nearest table. "But yeah, we're all good for later in the week. Just need to figure out how fast we can actually do this and what we need to carry."

"Well, that'll be easy. Wonder why?" Rexx answered. The wolf wrapped a burly arm around Thunder's broad shoulders, the dragon letting out a rather exasperated groan.

"I'm carrying everything?"

"No! Perish the thought, we're gonna split the job, what sort of co-owner and worker would I be? Besides, we've never actually done much together. Plus with you, it won't take several weekends to do!" Rexx smiled. He planted another smooch on the dragon's muzzle this time, pulling the meek Thunder into a tight hug.

"D'aww, thanks." Thunder returned the peck with a kiss of his own as he squirmed in the older wolf's grip.

"Nuh-uh, not letting ya go tonight. What's good with all this size if we can't have some fun for our first successful day, eh?" Rexx grinned. The wolf bumped noses, a loose growl rising up from his throat. Thunder blinked for a few moments, his cheeks slowly turning pink at the wolf's indication of what would be happening next.

"O-oh my..." Was all Thunder could say before he was silenced by a pair of wolf lips. The two slowly danced backwards, muzzles pressed together in a fervent kiss as Rexx's paws eagerly groped and squeezed along Thunder's tightly clothed, yet bulging, muscled frame. They pushed past the table at the center of the shop and slowly entered the next room and locked the door where the sounds of fervent lip smacking and growling was heard, alongside the sound of the walls being pounded. Several grunts filled the shop until some hours in the wee night, the two veritable giants consummating their first successful day at work.

True to Thunder's word, his advertising has done wonders, much to Rexx's joy. The next few days were filled with customers wanting to window shop and look at the giant dragon that worked inside along with Rexx himself. The two occasionally switched sizes, sometimes leaving Rexx to play a haggard giant, complete with tattered clothing whilst Thunder handled the paperwork and ideas. Most of their customer base were folks or husbands looking to get out of doing yard work, which lead to a new idea for Rexx and The Beanstalk; renting out their services for a weekend or two.

After setting up appointments and meetings for later in the month, the first weekend of their first job had finally arrived. The enormous dragon and wolf had decided to share the load of carrying several bags of needed fertilizer, along with a few other objects and shovels for noting any possible depressions or problems with the land itself. With all the objects in mind, it left Thunder and Rexx close to 25 feet, around the size of the houses in the neighborhood. That also left the two with not much in the way of clothing since they planned to be here all day. As such, Thunder wore nothing but his usual pair of toeless boots along with his gardening belt and orange pants, forgoing any sort of shirt wear while Rexx kept a pair of brown gardening pants and actual boots along with gloves.

As they walked though the neighborhood, the two were forced to mix their steps between walking on the street and on the sidewalk, avoiding any cars or furs walking by.

"Do we really have to be shirtless? I have stuff that fits us..." Thunder mumbled. With the numerous amounts of baggage wedged between his muscular arms, he had little way of covering himself up. The dragon was substantially beefier than his wolf co-worker, the canine sporting a more "large football player" build than his bodybuilding draconian friend.

"Hey, it helps with the advertising and I'm sure no one's going to complain, I sure wouldn't." Rexx rebutted.

Thunder let out a sharp sigh and frowned as they soon came upon the house where they would be working for the day. The two tigers stood in front of their yard, most of the area around their block clean of anything that would have gotten in the way, like cars. Thunder could feel numerous amounts of eyes on him as the two titans rolled up to the yard. The neighbors were clearly watching from the safety of their houses, he couldn't blame them, really.

Once they arrived, the work quickly began. Most of it had been the tedious part of yard work; getting a better lay of the land and figuring out what bits of the yard they had to re-do completely while not succumbing that to the rest of the yard itself. Various parts of the front yard were marked with rather obvious toe prints made by Thunder as a way to keep track of what areas needed the most work.

The most tedious part of it all was seeding the front and back yard, then the fertilizer as well. The two titans took to taking each part of the yard separately, the seeding process a lot more vigorous no thanks to their enormous size. Thunder and Rexx patted down large banks of the yard with the seeds, making sure that all of them were planted well with gentle stomps along the garden since they didn't need to dig anything up. With the sun beating down on them constantly as the hours passed by, Thunder was the first to clamor for water.

"Ahhh...." Thunder let out a sigh of relief as he sat along the side walk, his legs spilling out across the street and onto the neighbor's lawn. His feet casually loomed along the driveway. Sweat glistened along his enormous, muscled frame, leaving any passer-bys or neighbors still in their houses to stare at the dragon as he doused himself with water from a hose they'd set up to water the lawn and back yard.

"Told you it would work," Rexx snickered as he grabbed the hose and sat down as well, letting the cold water spill over him. Their muscles bulging and flexing from the hard work they started, a good chunk of people walking by slowly either for curiosity or admiration. As their break went one, Thunder and Rexx took to passing by their comparatively tiny business cards by asking furs to come by and take one from the pile as they watered themselves off a good distance away.

"Tell your neighbors about us, we do good work and give a good show!" Rexx waved.

"Rexx and The Beanstalk will also do rental services at a flat rate coming soon!" Thunder chimed in.

All in all, their business was off to a booming start.
