#18 of Shaman Squirrel Chronicles

This takes place 3 years after "Breeding Noraxia" and 17 years before "Here There Be Cygnagons."

Swiftrose was the 11-year old daughter of Pinetail, a 41-year old Shaman Squirrel. She was outside one morning talking to their 115-year old Cygnan Mammalian Dragon, Noraxia. She was a large, majestic creature, weighing roughly 3,000 pounds. She had light brown fur, with a dark brown mane going from her neck to 1/3 of her tail.

"Hey old girl," Swiftrose said to the Cygnagon (short for Cygnan Mammalian Dragon). "I hope everything goes well with you and your baby. I know it's due soon. I don't have any name ideas yet. But I will, I promise." The young squirrel hugged Noraxia's neck and went back inside the cottage. She lived with her father Pinetail and stepmother Sharna, a shaman horse.

Swiftrose was a very curious young squirrel who often asked random questions. "Daddy," she said. "Why do Cygnagons have six limbs? The Iskret who come from the same planet only have four."

"You know, honey," said Pinetail. "That's a very good question. We can find this out at the Gwen Library."

"Oh, it's a very nice library," said Sharna. "Very peaceful and quiet." Despite being 67 years old, Sharna appeared to be a mare in her late 30's. As a shaman, she had various potions which helped slow the aging process.

"We can take Zara," said Pinetail. Zara was the 238-year old mother of Noraxia, and had served as riding companion for the Shaman Squirrel clan for over 2 centuries.

"Good idea," said Sharna. "Riding would be hard on Noraxia since she's about to give birth."

Zara was crouching in front of the cottage. Pinetail, Sharna, and Swiftrose got on her, securing themselves to her harness. "Zara, take us to the Gwen Library."

Zara took off. She gracefully flew her companions several miles until they reached their destination. The library was a small cottage that was once inhabited by a skunk named Gwen, a good friend of the first Shaman Squirrel Redra.

The three of them dismounted Zara, and walked in. The smell of old, dusty books was not a problem for the visitors. Tending the library were a Rorfian couple named Arag and Wolra. Rorfians are dog-like aliens that resemble anthro-dogs, except they have a long mane of back fur, larger eyes, and shorter muzzle.

"Welcome to the Gwen Library," Arag said with his gruff, low-pitched voice. Arag was huge; roughly 7 feet tall, which was also the height of Sharna. His wife Wolra was only about four feet tall, the same size as Pinetail. It was almost as though Pinetail and Sharna were meeting gender reversed versions of themselves.

"Would you happen to have any books on the natural history of the planet Cygnus Prime?" asked Swiftrose.

"As a matter of fact, we do," said Wolra. She pulled out a book entitled Evolution on Cygnus Prime. "There's a quiet little room over there," Wolra pointed to a small door. Swiftrose went into the room with the book, sat at a chair and began reading.

"She's a quick reader," Sharna told the Rorfian couple.

"Yes, and she absorbs just about everything she learns," said Pinetail. "I'm really proud of her."

"You know, we hardly ever have much company," said Arag.

"That's right," said Wolra. "Did you know that it is a big compliment in Rorfian society to offer guests sexual favors?"

"Oh, I didn't know that," said Pinetail.

"Are you offering us something of that nature?" asked Sharna.

"If it's okay with you both," said Arag. "The room at the other side of the library is a bedroom."

"This won't hurt our relationship, would it hon?" Pinetail asked Sharna.

"Not at all," said Sharna. "Let's respect what they have to offer us." The four of them headed towards the back bedroom.

"This room is soundproof, right?" asked Pinetail. "Wouldn't want Swiftrose hearing us while she's doing her research."

"Yes, we believe it is," said Arag.

Wolra was eyeing Pinetail. "Let's see what you got down there," she said. Slowly, Pinetail took off his tribal garb. "Oh, wow, those are some very big balls."

"Yes, we squirrels are endowed in that way," said Pinetail. "We tend to be the butt of all nut jokes."

Meanwhile, Arag was checking out Sharna, who had already taken off her clothing. "You know, I've never been with a mare," Arag said.

"And I've never taken canine knot in all of my 67 years," said Sharna. "I'm ready!" Sharna got into a natural position, allowing Arag to dominate her.

"You're that old?" Arag said, wide-eyed. "You look great for your age."

"Why thank you!" said Sharna.

The smaller couple were already busy. Kneeling down, Wolra had Pinetail's erect squirrel member in her mouth. "Mmmm," she said. "I didn't know squirrel was so tasty." Pinetail eagerly thrust in and out of her mouth, while Wolra was stimulating her clitoris. She moaned while rubbing herself, longing for Pinetail to move himself there. Her vulva was round and the entrance had the typical Y-shape of a canine's. The two of them got on the ground on their sides, facing each other. Pinetail gradually put himself into Wolra's naughty bit. "Yes!" she yelled as Pinetail slid his entire length into her. They embraced and kissed while making love for several more minutes.

"Oh, I'm about to cum," said Pinetail. Then, ribbons of squirrel sperm gushed into the female Rorfian's twat. They remained in an embrace, while making out.

"That was so good," said Wolra.

The larger couple was in the natural position, as Arag was thrusting in and out of Sharna. "Yes!" said Sharna. "You're so big! Gimme that knot!"

"Good idea," said Arag. He put his whole length into the mare, and started swelling.

"Oooh, yes! I feel it," said Sharna as she felt the knot swell. Then, burst after burst of canine seed gushed into Sharna. "Yes! I can feel that too!"

Arag and Sharna remained locked. Arag lifted his legs over in order to be in the tied position. They were now butt to butt, with their tails in the air, intertwining. After a few minutes in this position, they separated. The four of them got dressed.

"That was amazing!" said Sharna.

"Oh, it was!" said Pinetail.

"We're glad to be of service to you," said Arag.

"Maybe we can do this again," said Wolra.

Pinetail and Sharna had left the room. Soon after, Swiftrose left the other room, holding the book.

"So, what did you find out, Swiftrose?" asked Pinetail.

"Well, it all started with the first planetary colonization missions from Earth in the 22nd and 23rd centuries," said Swiftrose. "There were two ships that intended on colonizing the planet Cygnus Prime. They were the Shenandoah and the Persephone. The Shenandoah carried domestic animals and crop seeds, and the Persephone carried wild animals and trees."

"Well, we knew about the colonization attempt," said Sharna. "But go on."

"A funny thing happened," said Swiftrose. "An anomaly opened up and swallowed the Persephone and took it back in time 40 million years. There is evidence that the humans from that ship successfully colonized those millions of years ago, and seeded the planet with the life they brought from Earth. Among the many animal species they brought were squirrels and fruit bats. Over the 40 million years, the squirrels evolved into the Iskret that we know today. But the fruit bats took another turn. Here, let me read this, it's hard for me to remember."

Swiftrose turned the book to a page describing exactly what happened with the fruit bats and other animals. "It says this: 'After the Persephone disappeared back in time 40 million years, there is evidence that the science teams from that ship had conducted genetic engineering experiments on some of the animals they brought with them. Some animals had genes spliced into them, causing the next generation to develop an extra set of limbs. Unfortunately, not all of these experiments were successful because most of the six limbed animals were sterile. The only animals that were able to reproduce after having the extra set of limbs were the fruit bats. After the humans mysteriously vanished from the planet, nature took over, and the genetically engineered 4-legged fruit bats eventually evolved into the Cygnagons we know of today.'"

"Wow, so humans who travelled 40 million years in the past caused the existence of the Iskret race and the Cygnagons," said Wolra.

"Makes us wonder what ever become of the Persephone's descendants over those millions of years," said Arag.

"Some say they left Cygnus Prime and seeded other worlds with animal life," said Pinetail. "I'm pretty sure they also planted lots of tree seeds here on Silvania."

"That means we Rorfians could be descendants of dogs!" said Wolra.

"More likely some species of wild canine," said Sharna. "The Persephone only had wild animals, while the other ship had domestic ones."

"We may never know for sure," said Arag.

"Well, it was nice coming here," said Pinetail.

"We really enjoyed our time," said Sharna.

Arag and Wolra waved good bye as Pinetail, Sharna, and Swiftrose left the library and mounted Zara. She took off, flying them home. Swiftrose studied Zara's wings as they were flapping. "Very bat-like indeed," she said.

Zara then purposely landed next to her daughter Noraxia.

Two older squirrels were petting Noraxia, encouraging her. Zara's three riders dismounted. "Hi, dad, hi grandpa" said Pinetail, addressing his 66-year old father Bremlur and his grandfather, the 103-year old Great Elder Mokus.

"It's about time you're back," said Bremlur. "Noraxia's ready to give birth very soon."

"How soon?" asked Pinetail.

"Soon enough that we are all need to put our hands over her," said Mokus, with his age-strained voice. "You too, Swiftrose. This is going to be a very important part of your training as a shaman." Mokus was a very ancient squirrel, slow moving and with grizzled fur.

Bremlur put his paws on Noraxia's side, instructing Swiftrose. "Position your paws like this." He spread his fingers out, and closed his eyes. "Now concentrate. You very much want Noraxia to have this baby without any pain."

"Yes, Grandpa," said Swiftrose. She also closed her eyes, and concentrated. Sharna watched with enthusiasm, as the Shaman Squirrels did their trick. Mokus, Bremlur, Pinetail, and Swiftrose all wished for Noraxia to have the baby without pain, to the extent that a purplish haze enveloped Noraxia. The haze obscured her nether region, making the birth not visible. After a moment, Noraxia was now no longer pregnant. The haze dissipated, revealing what had come out of her. There were two babies, one much larger than the other.

"Looks like we have a male and a female," said Mokus.

"Naming will be up to the youngest Shaman Squirrel," said Bremlur.

Pinetail and Swiftrose approached the larger of the two babies, the female. They noticed a blue haze below each of her wings.

"Swiftrose, do you have a name for these two?" asked Pinetail.

"I do, but only for the female," said Swiftrose. "First, I must say what I learned at the library was some very important information. I'd like that ship to be remembered through this baby. I will call her Persephone."

"I like that name," said Bremlur.

"Indeed, it's a pretty name," said Mokus.

"Persephone it is," said Pinetail.
