Max and I beat Patrick and Alex to the cafe by less than a minute. Upon arrival Alex asked for his $5 back, shockingly Patrick did give it back. "You know that I'm going out with Zeal. She'd kill me if she saw me with another person."

I stood up and walked over to where the tigress was sitting with her friends.

"Hey there"

"My friend over there, the husky, wants to know if you'll give him your number"

The heat was the first thing that hit us as we walked out of the cafe. You could see the columns of hot air radiating of the black surface of the road. We started to walk back to Patrick's house when we were approached by three large gorillas. I recognised the leader as Colin, the largest, dumbest knucklehead from school. He was one of those people that forced you to like him. I must have been the only person who hasn't given in yet.

"Oh that wounded me. If one my parents had died in tragic circumstances you'd be my best friend too." Colin stated, thinking aloud, "You never know, one day you could just, I don't know, get shot?"

"Take that back." I said though gritted teeth, turning slowly. I noticed that people were starting to look out the cafe window to see what all the fuss was about.

"Hmm, no. No, I don't think I will." Colin stated

"Take-That-Back" I said more forcibly, stepping forward. A hand fell on my shoulder, grabbing me lightly.

"He's not worth it. Come on lets go" Patrick said softly in my ear. I shrugged his hand of my shoulder and continued walking towards the ape that had insulted my mother.

"Looky here boys. Big bad Rexy is gonna avenge his mummy. Let's teach him a lesson" Colin instructed his two goons. One of them stepped forward and swung his fist at me. Using the martial arts skills I learnt a few years back I dodged the blow and with a well aimed kick to the back of his knee, brought him to the ground. I pinched a nerve point on his neck and put him to sleep. The second ape, seeing his friend go down, charged me head on. I spun and using my tail, tripped him. Hitting the ground hard he was knocked unconscious. By this time the adrenalin was pumping through my veins. Shaking my head I recovered in time to see another punch coming towards me. Blinded in one eye, I dodged the blow and landed one of my own on Colin, breaking his nose. "Hi guys! I was just flying by and thought I'd stop to h...Oh my God! What happened to him?" the girl dragon asked as she rushed over to help Patrick before he dropped me.

"He got into a fight with a couple of Apes from school." Patrick replied as he opened the front door

"Don't worry Zeal, the other guys are worse of then me." I managed to mumble

"Other guys? How many did you take on?" She said sounding shocked

"Three" Patrick stated

"Three, at once. Why did you take on three guys at once?" Zeal questioned. Patrick leant over and whispered something in Zeal's ear. Zeal gave a small nod as she understood what had happened.

"I'm gonna go call Rex's dad and tell him what's happened. Bathroom is the second door on the right upstairs if you want to try and clean him up a bit."

Zeal half carried, half dragged me up the stairs into the bathroom. She dumped on the floor and turned the shower on.
