Chapter 3

He turned his head to look back to see if Kiro was coming, but the Drake padded right past him as he did. Leif then needing to quickly catching up to him.
"So um, tell me about yourself?" Leif spoke, trying to lighten the mood.
"No." Kiro said bluntly,
"Well alright then." Leif said with a sigh, rolling his eyes as he and the large Dragon walked through to the south end gate of Royah. The Trip was just as long as the Fox remembered, his hind paws kicking a few stones along the way.
Kiro and Leif didn't stop moving the entire way, Leif kept asking for the Drake to slow down, but Kiro just ignored his wishes and kept powering on. The two only slowing down as they found themselves padding up to the large draw bridge they needed to exit out of. Three armoured animals standing around it.
Their Purple and golden armour matching with their long thick spears that stood next to each animal. Not that they really needed it.
The City of Royah was surrounded in a thick large wall that was put up many years ago. Well before the Tempori's were known to the world.
King Frort was ruler of the city back then. He was a kind ruler, and a very gentle soul. He treated all his subjects with respect, and care. How ever, The Lordship had a queen. A very evil and unkind queen. A Mind Tempori, who used her abilities to rule the underbelly of the city. Assassinations were made on her from unknown sources but the queen knew how to look after herself.
But one night when the King and queen had had a very large fight, the queen attempted to take the life of King Frort, but the king somehow managed to beat her in battle.
From there, every Tempori was banished to the dead lands. The south forest outside of Royah. Where the evil and forgotten go to die.
The Forrest itself was known to swallow all who dared go off its trail. Those who were smart stayed on the track, but those who were to curious or dumb were never to be seen again.
Years continued and still Temproi's got banished into the Forrest, but after nearly a century later. A King Xander, finally broke the rule of banishment after seeing some potential in them. If they swore there elegance to the throne, they were allowed to stay.
They would live to protect the king, and every off spring they had had to serve under the king's watch as soon as they turned eighteen.
That rule was put into place before the knowledge of naturals being able to give birth to Tempori's. So instead of being forced to work under the king, these all powerful beings had to be kept in line. So they were round up and logged, never able to get a good paying job, never able to go anywhere without the king knowing.
If they left the city, a royal guard was to move with them, to make sure they knew they always had eyes on them, and if they stepped out of line, well, there families were punished. The ultimate padlock to their prison. No humane person would want to see their family murdered. Those who would were evil anyway and deserved to be put down. But for those like Leif, who loved his family. He would be sure to get the nine hundred coin bail on his parents and brother.
Leif was going to get there on time now and he knew it. He felt great about it. Yes he was nervous but he had Kiro and both he and Kiro knew that if he died. The Drake wouldn't get the rest of his payment.
So as the two made their way up, Kiro hoped the gods would give him a silent guard to travel with them. He didn't need two wise asses accompanying him.
Leif sighed as the first guard caught the glimpse of him and Kiro, The tabby cat squinted his eyes and with a rough voice merely said,
"State your business."
"A natural and Tempori wishing to go to Summerston." Kiro called out.
"What is your business there?" The Cat asked, walking his way over to the table, and picking up a thick wooden board with a large stack of paper nailed to the top. The Cat dabbing a quill into a small wooden tub filled with ink.
"Hidden Release." Leif said gently, the cat huffed a laugh and wrote it down.
"Whose fault was the crime?" He asked,
"My family hid me away." Leif said gently.
"The stupid fools." He laughed, the large Rhino and lanky Doberman joining his comrade in his laughter, Leif having to hold back his growl. "Name and family name." The Cat asked looking up.
"Leif Scornhood." Leif said softly, The tabby cat nodded and wrote down the name before he turned to walk into the room built into the wall.
The room had either side cut open so the Guards could let in, and let out anybody who came to the gate.
Leif was about ready to try his gifts one last time before he left, Kiro staying silent as he waited for the cat to return.
"You two going to summerston?" came the deep voice of the Rhino. The two looking over at the very large and smirking Rhino that rested up against the wall, his eyes watching his sharpening stone that he was grinding over his battle axe. His head coved in a heavy plated helm that let his horn poke through the front of it. Chain male falling down his body while leaving his arms open. He wore the regular guard pants that didn't leave much to the imagination.
"Why?" Leif asked, his eyes moving off the Rhino so he didn't have to look at what he didn't need to.
"Well I'm the companion guard on this gate. So I'll be with coming with you. And if your going to summerston that's a big pay for me." he said holding his axe in his hand and looking over at Lief with a smirk. "And the walk won't be so lonely with you around."
"Paws off." Kiro growled, Leif looking over at the drake with a very confused look.
"Oh, mated?" he asked,
"No. I'm just not having him whimper and complain while I'm trying to sleep. ." he growled.
"Oh, just take his maw. He'll be quiet then." He chuckled,
"If I get anything, I'm taking the ass." Kiro growled, Leif looking up at the dragon with a very unamused look.
"I'm standing right here you filth." He growled looking at the Drake with hurt in his eyes. How could a person be so cruel? He just shook his head and looked down sighing knowing full well that he didn't really have a choice in this matter.
"This is going to be fun." The Rhino chuckled as he put the sharpening stone into his belt pocket.
"Alright." the familiar voice of the tabby cat came from the door as he padded out. A letter in a golden and purple envelope. "Christopher will be your guide as I am sure he has told you." the cat explained getting an annoyed nod from the Fox.
"Yeah." Leif whined softly.
"You understand that he will be in charge of the group. If you try to harm him in anyway, he has full authorisation to kill you on the spot?"
"I understand and accept." Leif sighed gently, The tabby looking over at Kiro who nodded his with an eye roll.
"And Christopher, you take responsibility for these two?" the tabby asked,
"Sure do." He said with a smirk, reaching behind him with ease to lock his battle axe into place.
"Alright then." the Tabby said before walking his way into the room once more. Then not to long after that, the Draw bridge beginning to lower.
The three animals all looking at their own item of choice. Leif on the draw bridge, Kiro on the ground as he wondered how long before he murdered the two animals he was with, and Chris was biting his lip as he looked at the Fox. His imagination running wild as he wondering what he was hiding in that cloak of his.
It wasn't too long before the bridge landed, the three now having an easy walk over the dangerous waters below.
"Safe journey travellers." the cat said waving, "Tempori." he said, Leif just rolling his eyes as the three of them walked out onto the bridge. Leif keeping his jaw clenched as he heard he guards laughing over him. He wanted to turn and pull them all into the water. But that would just get him beheaded.
He just gave a loud sigh before he looked over into the dark Forrest, looking out at the road as the darkness of the trees engulfed the trail completely.
"Dont worry about them." Chris said making his way over to the Fox, placing his large arm around over his shoulders. "They're just ass holes."
"Like every guard." Kiro commented,
"Hey Drake," Chris snapped back, "You don't even know me."
Kiro just let out a lout obnoxious laugh and shook his head.
"I don't have to know you, to know you have our head shoved high up your ass." the dragon growled.
"You have deduced that about me have you?" The Rhino asked, Leif rolling his shoulders to try and get the large mammal off him. "How?"
"You clearly think you are important because your amour is far to clean, you have no problem walking over to an animal that doesn't even want to be near you. Your crotch is on display when no animal in their right mind wants to see that from a guard and you seem to have no problem making Leif feel uncomfortable by raping him with your eyes." Kiro growled, not even turning to face the Rhino. "I am here to protect him, that's what I am being paid to do. So if he gives me any indication that you have hurt him. I'll kill you there and then."
Leif looked up at Kiro and for the first time he didn't seem to want to growl at him. He smiled softly, not daring to open his maw to thank the large Drake. He knew better then that.
The Rhinos arm left Leif s, and Leif whined as he walked forward. The Rhino took the Dragons shoulder into his arm,
"You want to talk shit to me boy?" The Rhino growled into the drakes face, "Because if you say shit like that to me once more, I will have no problem taking your jaw off."
Kiro just chuckled into the Rhinos face, shaking his head and moving into the forest, Leif whimpering and hurrying along beside him.
Both heard the Rhinos growl rumble through his throat, before he continued along behind them.
"Please don't anger him Kiro." The Fox sighed, "If he goes the entire journey will be for nothing."
The Dragon huffed and nodded his head.
"I know." He growled, "But I do not stand for..."
"It doesn't matter Kiro." Leif snapped back, "He wont bruise your ego unless you let him."
The Dragon gave an annoyed sigh as he found the Fox to be right. Even if the Rhino was screaming in his face, he knew well and simple that he could murder him before he even unsheathed his axe.
"Yeah." The Dragon said with growl, hating to admit it to himself. Leif just smiling to himself as he heard. "Wipe the smile off your face." Kiro growled,
"...Nope." Leif said, smirking even larger as he marched happily forward.
"So have you been here before?" Kiro asked the Rhino behind him.
"Why does it matter?" The Rhino asked,
"Because I would like to know that when danger does come our way, you're not going to go running home with your tail between your legs." Kiro snapped back towards the guard. His eyes rolling before he shook his head.
"Don't be an imbecile." Chris huffed, "The axe isn't there to show off my coin. Have you ever been in this part of the forest?"
"I wouldn't have taken the job if I hadn't been through here at least twice." The Dragon grumbled back, "I'm no fool."
"S-So you know where we can rest yes?" Leif asked, the darkness and the noises of the night beginning to frighten the small being a little. The Fox's tail gently moving towards his legs as he moved back towards the Drake who took him into his arm.
"If you let that Rhino know you are scared he's going to give you shit for it. I don't wish to hear it. So stop being a wuss, nothing is happening to you." Kiro growled,
"You mean nothing's happening to your pay." Leif huffed, pushing the black and green paw off his shoulder.
"You frightened little one?" The Rhino asked,
"Not used to the dark is all." Leif said, moving away from the Dragon while walking over to the Rhinoceros.
"Well come to daddy sexy," He chuckled, "I'll look after you."
"Least somebody will." Leif said, smiling up at the Rhino with a satisfying grin. Even if he was a jerk, maybe he would protect him.
"So I am very sure I hired you a few months back little one." The Rhino chuckled, Kiro's lips smirking a little.
"I don't think you did." Leif said, his cheeks blushing gently.
"Oh But I am sure I did." Chris chuckled, stopping the smaller one and opening up his coat and nodding his head. "Oh yeah, you are definitely the one. I never forget a body like yours."
Leif whined as he began to just feel uncomfortable, his ears burning in embarrassment.
"P-Please would you stop treating me like you did?" He asked, closing his cloak and padding away.
"Ah, so you do remember?" He asked, chuckling as he followed the Smaller one.
"I had a lot of liquor that night. I don't really remember much." Leif lied,
"Well, I promise you I remember every detail." He said, Leif whining as he felt two large hands getting pushed onto his rear.
"P-Please let go." Leif whimpered, "I only was like that to get the coin I needed for bail... Im not a whore by choice."
The Rhino laughed as he gently groped the Fox's rear, turning him into a tree before standing behind him roughly.
"Maybe I don't give a shit and I need to blow a load?" He growled, Leif whimpering as he tried to push himself away.
"I'm not for sale any more!" Leif growled, "get off me!"
"And I'm in charge here. So you're going to be..."
Leif whimpered as he heard a loud and painful sounding snap. Kiro had had enough of the Rhinos bullshit, and forcing himself onto the fox was the last straw.
"Get off him you fucking disgusting pig!" The Dragon roared,
The Rhino now on the floor, writing in pain as his now broken jaw jiggled under him. Leif whimpered and gripped onto the Dragon. Kiro's arm reaching down to grip him tightly.
"Thank you." Leif whimpered, clearing his throat and gulping down sobs before looking up at the drake.
Kiro nodded his head, not really liking the closeness the fox needed... But not exactly hating it either.
"You are to stick with me now, you get me?" Kiro asked, "You stick by my side for this entire journey. You eat with me, sleep with me, piss with me, everything with me. Alright?"
Leif nodded his head, biting his bottom lip as he just tried to hold back any kind of weakness but even as hard as he fought a rouge tear fell from eye.
Kiro about to snap at the small being, when something finally clicked into his head. This little Fox hadn't been selling his body by choice. He was trying to get his family back. He really didn't enjoy how he was treated, and for a dragon who acts all knowing, he was fucking blind to this... The Dragon sighed as he finally realised how much of a cunt he was actually being.
Leif did deserve his respect, and Kiro would try to give it to him, but after years of being a hard ass, it would be hard for him to give it the level the fox was maybe used to.
"Its alright." Kiro grumbled, wiping away the tear away roughly with his thumb. "If he touches you again, he's going to get more then a broken jaw."
Leif couldn't believe his ears or eyes as the Dragon actually tried to... console him? He nodded his head and watched as he walked over to the writhing Rhino, grabbing him by the helm, and with a quick jab to the underside of his jaw, popped the bone into place again.
"Now, Before you start to run your maw, opening your maw may dislodge it and bring the pain back. So you need to keep it shut for about two days. Do you understand?" Kiro asked, The Rhinos nostrils flaring in anger as he store death into the Dragons skull.
He knew he had full obligation to kill them both right now, but he would only be paid if the two came back safely and with no issues. It was the only thing stopping guards from just mercilessly killing people on the road.
He growled as he nodded, pushing the Dragon away from him. He didn't wish to be near him, he didn't wish to even be here anymore. But the coin he would be getting could buy him a slut for a whole month.
He got himself up onto his feet and with a red raged face moved forward. Ignoring the small fox to his right.
Kiro laughed as he watched the Rhino storm off, Shaking his head as the large being acted so immaturely.
"Th-Thank you." Leif said gently, Kiro giving him a small, nearly invisible smile. He walked over and gave him shoulder a soft squeeze before he continued down the road.
