Liz is excited to be starting on an unexpected journey. Yet, that doesn't mean she's entirely without nerves. Her mate still doesn't know, and she doesn't know what to tell her.

Slice of Lex: Slice of Liz

Liz lay on the couch, staring up at the ceiling. She put her hand over her stomach, and swallowed. Her twin sat on the floor next to her. Liz used her free hand to grip Victoria's shoulder. Both girls were still a little in shock. "So what are you going to do now?" Victoria said, leaning back against the couch, turning so that she could see her sister better. "I mean, clearly Becka should know."

"Yeah, and I'll tell her. I wanted to stop by and visit her today anyways." Liz rubbed her sibling's shoulder. "W-would you come with me?"

"Of course I will."

"Mom also wants me to schedule a doctor's appointment, to confirm the test, and to get a check-up."

"I would trust Mom on that one, I mean, after all, she is our MOM." Victoria said with a giggle.

Liz giggled too. "I guess you're right. I wish I could go see my doctor back in Virginia. She's lovely. I haven't been to any doctors around here since I was seventeen." Liz said, sitting up. "How are you feeling? Still nauseous?"

"A little... You?"

"Yeah, doesn't seem like it's going away. Although, of all fuckin' things, I would really like some hot out of the fryer french fries, and a chocolate shake," Liz made a face like she was confused, "And a dill pickle."

"We have pickles here, Mom just bought a jar for Ryan and Dad to have at lunch." Victoria checked her phone, it was only about eight in the morning. "As for shakes and fries, the Jack on the corner serves lunch twenty four seven."

"Would you, my most lovely sister, consider getting your younger and with child twin some food?"

Victoria stood up, with an elegant bow. "Aye, if it be thy will." The vixen was already dressed, even if it was just her pajamas. She stopped just before leaving, "Anything else you need?" She said, leaning on the wide arch connecting the living room to the dining.

"Um... A mimus sandwich? No lettuce, but extra tomato and pickle."

"You and the pickles, it's like Mom with Kylie all over again. What is it with this family and pickles." Victoria laughed as she pulled her jacket on, the rain having resumed a torrential state once more. "I'll be back in a few minutes. Do me a favor though, see if Lex wants anything while I'm there. I owe her for this morning..." The vixen said, rubbing under her glasses. "Least I can do to make up for that. Poor wolfy." She turned and left, Liz could faintly hear the sound of her running footsteps as she dashed for the truck.

Liz stood up off the couch, her back stiff. She exhaustedly climbed the stairs, her body still not ready to be wholly awake yet. She gently pushed open the door to Victoria's room, even after a decent spraying of deodorizer, the room still had a faint smell of bile. Liz felt her own stomach clench, and she mentally told it off. The last thing Lexi needed right now, or Liz, was for the wolf to get another rude surprise in her sleep. She was snoring gently, the blankets pulled up to her chin, she was mumbling slightly, nothing intelligible. Liz shook her shoulder. "Hey, Lexi." She said. The wolf rolled over, stretching a bit.

"What's up babe?" She said, tiredly. Though as she rolled over, she smiled. "Oh, sorry. What's up Liz?"

"Vic wanted to know if you wanted anything to eat, she's getting me food right now, from Jack."

"Yeah, tell her I want two mimus sandwiches, the way I like 'em." The wolf said.

"Okay, I think I'll go down stairs and get warm again while I'm waiting for her to come back." The vixen pulled out her phone, texting her sister.

"Why go to all that trouble? There's a perfectly good blanket right here? I don't bite." The wolf said, she had fallen asleep in her pajamas in case of further incidents. Liz was hesitant, yet she finally, and slowly crawled under the blanket. Lex remaining towards the wall.

"Thanks, I know Vic won't mind... I just didn't know how to react to that suggestion."

"Would you have taken the offer if it were Victoria here, and me out?" The wolf said sleepily.

"Yeah."

"So what's the problem. Listen, as far as I'm concerned you're basically my sister too. If you're okay with that. So I really don't care, I mean I've taken naps with Kylie before, you're no different in that regard."

"Thanks, and yeah, the more I see you and Vic together, the more you're like a sister to me too."

The wolf let out a soft sigh, as she tipped back over the edge from awake to asleep. Liz took down Victoria's tablet. She lay under the blanket, with the wolf snoring once more behind her, watching YouTube videos. As tired as she was, she still didn't feel like sleeping again. Victoria came home, as indicated by the door shutting downstairs. "Liz? Where'd you go?" She called quietly.

"I'm in your room."

Victoria came through the door moments later, holding three cups, two medium and one large, and a large brown sack. "Ah, you're stealing all my wolf warmth..." Victoria said, with a feigned face of disappointment. "Now how am I going to warm up after being out in the cold rain?"

Lex woke up at the sound of the vixens talking, her ear flicking. "You're a big girl, you'll figure something out." The wolf said with a small giggle, as she sat up.

Victoria sat down on the side of the bed, fishing in the bag. "Do you want me to move?" Liz said, looking hungrily at the food being spread out on the bed.

"You're fine for now, when I want my wolf back I'll let you know." Victoria grinned as she looked at Lexi. She handed Liz and Lexi their food, before taking her own out. "And for my sister, a chocolate shake, large, and my lady gets a doctor pepper no ice."

"Ah yes." Liz said contentedly as she dipped a hot fry into the shake. She grinned as she leaned back on the headboard. "Thanks Vic, this is exactly what I needed."

"No problem my sibling." Vic said, as she unwrapped her burger. "I swear to God I'm craving pickles... Twin magic bullshit, you have."

"Not my fault, maybe you're pregnant." Liz said with a giggle, "I don't know have you two been safe?"

"I highly doubt that Lexi has gotten me pregnant. Although that would be a fascinating anomaly to explain to Mom and Dad..." Victoria said, before taking a large bite of her burger. "Oh, yeah, here's the whole dill pickle you asked for, if you still want it." Victoria said, passing a plastic bag to her twin.

"Oh my God yes!" Liz said. She, much to Victoria and Lexi's surprise, dipped the edge of the pickle into the shake, and took a munch out of it. She was grinning happily as the other two ladies just stared on in confusion. Liz looked from one to the other and shrugged, sipping her frozen drink.

"Well, that was the weirdest thing I think I've ever seen you do." Victoria said, laying down across the width of the bed, feet on the floor.

"So how was it?" Lex said, tilting her head to the side.

"Surprisingly, it wasn't all that bad..."

Victoria sat up again, finishing the rest of her burger. "If you don't mind, could we swap places? I think I'd like my Lexi back now."

"What if I wanted to get up?" The wolf said, tossing her trash in the empty sack.

"Well, that's too damn bad for you, because you're going to sit, or lay, right there so I can use you as a personal heater."

"But Vic, your sister's still here." Lex said, pointing her thumb at her twin, "I mean, we can if you want, but wouldn't you be embarrassed?"

Elizabeth and Victoria looked at each other. Liz set her shake aside, and Victoria climbed towards the top of the bed, grabbing the pillow out from behind the wolf. Liz and Vic then proceeded to thoroughly whack the wolf with the pillows. Lexi laughed as she was pounded by the pillows. "Stop, stop! I was just joking. I'm not intending to get up anyway. Not until that pesky AM thing on the clock has passed." The wolf stretched out on the bed, sighing contentedly as she pulled the covers back up, stopping just short of her chest.

Victoria and her twin traded places, her kissing the wolf as she sat next to her. "Liz, you don't have to leave, if you're cold you can sit by the footboard and cover up. Then I'd have sibling warms and girlfriend warms."

Liz agreed, pulling the blanket up onto her lap,Victoria stretched her legs out to reach her sibling's. "Now don't start that kicking BS again." Lexi said, looking scoldingly between the two vixens.

"Nah, I don't really feel like it. I mean, I still feel like I'D throw up on you if that started." Liz set her shake on the footboard, stroking the back of the wolf's leg with her foot.

Victoria couldn't help but giggle at the mental image. Lexi cocked her head, her brows furrowed. "I'm sorry. I'm still sorry about this morning as well." Victoria said, rubbing the wolf's ear.

"I like ear rubs and kisses so much better than vomit." Lex said, rolling over in the bed.

"So, what are your plans for right now?" Victoria said, looking at her sister.

"I don't know, still thinking about going downstairs and catching a nap. Going to Becka's hotel around noonish. I just don't want to be alone right now, my emotions are kind of all over the place."

"Well, Dad still has Ryan's and his cots, from when they went camping, in the closet downstairs. It wouldn't be too hard to set it up in here." Victoria, shrugged as she looked at her room.

"That's a good idea, I think I can manage it by myself. If I remember right, those cots didn't weigh much." Liz stood up, straightening her top as she did so. "I might stay with Becka tomorrow, your girlfriend warms are nice, but I like my coyote warmth better." She said, with a small smile. "Besides, I need some time alone with her so that I can wrap my head around us being parents." Liz looked as if she were going to cry again, but she straightened up and walked out the door.

It wasn't very long before Mr. Adams came up with Liz trailing behind him. He carried the cot over one shoulder, rubbing his left leg with his free hand. Still, he had a sort of tired smile on his face. "I can't believe I'm going to be a grandad." He said, as he folded out the cot for his daughter. He let her fold her blanket and sheet out before sitting down on it next to her. He kissed her on the head. "I love you girls, hope you rest better now. Not quite as comfy as the couch, but the company's better." He said, rubbing her back. She turned and kissed him on the cheek before he departed.

She lay down, snuggling down under the warm blanket. "I wish I wasn't so danged cold." She said, as she looked at her twin. Victoria had stretched out next to Lexi, and was looking around the side of her desk at Liz.

"Yeah, I wish I could help you. Oh, wait!" Vic leaned under her bed, and pulled the heating pad out, tossing it to her twin.

"Thanks, that'll help some, at least it'll stop my back from cramping." Liz plugged it in under the desk, and slid it just above her hips. "See you in a few hours." She said, letting her eyes close. Victoria just made some faint sound of agreement as she nodded off herself.

It was about noon before the twins made it to the hotel. They stood on the second floor, watching the rain out the window for a moment. Liz attempting to get her thoughts together. "How am I going to tell her?" She rubbed her hand over her stomach nervously. "I mean, I know she'll be happy, but it doesn't make it any easier."

Victoria just rubbed her sibling's shoulder. "It'll be alright sweetie, it'll all be okay. Just tell her what comes naturally. She's going to be just as excited and nervous as you are." Victoria smiled at her sibling, and pulled her into a side-hug. "However, nothing's going to be accomplished if you don't actually knock on the door."

Liz sighed, and looked her twin in the eyes with a small frown. "I guess you're right." The vixen walked back to Rebecca's room. She hesitantly extended her arm, and wrapped on the wood.

"Just a sec." A voice called on the other side of the door. This was followed by the sound of a shower stopping, and a door opening and shutting. There was a momentary pause before the door opened. Rebecca stood in the doorway, ushering the two vixens inside with a friendly smile. "Liz, hey! I've missed you." The coyote said, as her vixen leaned up to kiss her. "And this must be Victoria, am I right?"

"Yep, that's me alright." Victoria hugged the drying coyote.

"Well, you two sit down, and let me get dressed. I'll be with you in a minute." Becka walked into the bathroom, letting the door shut behind her. The vixens sat on the bed, Victoria's arm on Liz's shoulders. "So, what did I do to get so lucky as to have two beautiful vixens appear in my hotel room." Rebecca was wearing a cute green shirt with black capped sleeves, and a pair of more femininely cut and decorated jeans. Victoria had to admit, Rebecca was pretty cute.

"Well..." Liz started, she hesitated for a moment. "Do you remember a few weeks back, when we were in the kitchen, and we got kind of... silly?"

Rebecca looked from her to Victoria. "I remember, yeah. But, are you sure you want to talk about this with your sister here?"

"Look, I'm not going to reminisce babe, but it is important. Do you remember what happened? I mean, as we were wrapping it up?"

Rebecca sighed, leaning her head forward. "Yeah, again, I remember. You haven't been laughing about that have you? It's not something I could help."

"Oh babe no! No, no, no! I know you couldn't." Liz sat in front of her, stroking her knees. "It's just... I'm... You're... " Liz couldn't get the last words out, no matter how hard she tried. Victoria sat next to her, placing her hand on Rebecca's.

"Liz is pregnant. You're both going to be moms." She said, her expression neutral.

Rebecca's ears perked back up, she stared into space. "Are you upset?" Liz's head drooped, her ears pinning back on her head.

Rebecca dropped to the ground, pushing the chair backwards slightly, so that she could be at eye level with her mate. "No, why would I be upset. This is amazing!" Becka had tears in her eyes as she pulled her vixen closer. "Oh this is so cool!" Rebecca put her hand on Liz's stomach, just inside her shirt, a large grin on her face. "When did you find this out?"

"Today, though I've suspected since last week. I was late, and I've just been horribly nauseous in the morning." Liz said, hugging her knees. "I was just too scared to actually take the test. It was Vic who told me to."

Rebecca hugged Victoria as well, an arm around each Vixen. She then sat up, hugging her knees to her chest. "Um, I've got some news too. I've had some time to think while I've been here, and I realized something. I want to do at least the hormones. I've called a place back home, and they've gotten me an appointment for a couple days after I get home. They'll do a lab appointment, then call me back the next week to actually get things started." She smiled, as her and Liz locked eyes.

"I'm happy for you," The vixen said, her lips met the coyote's for a brief peck. "I'm happy for us right now." Liz giggled, "I guess this means we should set a date, preferably not something too many months away. I don't want to be giving birth at the altar."

"Agreed," Becka said, as she stood and helped the vixens up. She started to say something, then stopped herself. Even though she was happy, she looked just as in shock as the rest of Liz's family had been. Finally she smiled, "I guess this is all the more motivation to tell your family what's happening, isn't it?" Becka kicked her feet idly off the side of the bed. Liz rubbed her back soothingly.

"You can take that at your own pace, Mom and Dad love you, even without actually meeting you in person. You make me happy, and I adore you." Liz turned the coyote towards her, gently. "Ryan can't stop talking about spending time with you, the few times you guys have chatted with one another. I think you'll be fine babe, I really do. Just don't rush yourself, make sure you're ready."

The coyote leaned her head over, resting it on Liz's shoulder. Victoria smiled, they reminded her of herself and her wolf. She stood up and adjusted her top. "I've got to go get some chore stuff done before class. It's great actually getting to meet you in person Becka, I know Lex would love to as well." Victoria waved as she walked out the door, closing it softly behind her.

"Are you leaving too?" Becka asked, turning sadly to her mate.

"Nope, I figured I needed to spend tonight here. I've already had plenty of comforting and support from Mom, Dad, Lex and especially Victoria. I figured that we could both use each other's support tonight." Liz lay back on the bed, Rebecca crawling up beside her. Once more, the coyote placed a hand gently on her mate's stomach, rubbing it softly.

"I love you Liz, and I'm so excited that we're going down this road together." Becka kissed the vixen on the neck, causing Liz's head to lean into hers.

"I love you too Becka. It's going to be an adventure for sure..." She said, as the two canines nuzzled their faces together. Liz rolled onto her side, Rebecca's arms came around her, holding the vixen tightly to her. There was no intention of sleeping, both canines just taking a day off to enjoy an increasing sense of closeness. With each other, and with the child that was already so loved.
