#84 of Entropy Series

The gang converges around a common problem, and family builds stronger bonds with help from a familiar friend.

This is the first slip in pacing for this book! At least I have a good excuse though; it's not every day you spin out of control in a car, after all. The new vehicle search went well, by the way. I had a nice used hard-top VW cabriolet, which then promptly ground out its transmission no more than twenty minutes out the dealership. Then they took it back and I got an amazing deal ($15 grand) on a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze with ~all~ the trimmings. :3

This chapter establishes the boundaries and weight of what comes to follow. It contains some cruelty and a dab of medical ick, but it shouldn't trigger anyone any worse than the last chapter's ending. I don't much like writing about these themes, but I suppose I'm a truthful writer and if it must happen I'll do my best. There shouldn't be any more disturbing moments for a while, at least.

As always, this story may contain adult content and explicit sexual imagery. If you aren't allowed or don't wish to view such material, please stop reading immediately. You may cringe / giggle / have an aneurysm from silly content tags. Love is in the air, and may or may not affect your capacity for rational thought. Common side effects include squealing, crying, and smiling. To all the rest, enjoy! Comments and critiques are welcome and encouraged.

"That should work for now. I'll have something final in a little while." Olivia teasingly shoved a screwdriver into Iolvin's shoulder as she packed up her tool kit. "Don't stand next to exploding things in the future, please."

"I don't generally plan on doing that, but sure." Yoyo rolled his artificial arm around his shoulder socket, then did a similar maneuver with his leg. "And if this is your idea of a patch job, you should be proud. It's close to perfect."

"Except the lack of the skin wrap." Ilaria snuggled her brother as they shared a bed in the Medical Bay. "Makes you look extra muscular though, even if it's in a creepy way."

"Well it's functional at least. Cosmetic stuff comes second." Liv reached into her bag and pulled out something wrapped in cloth. "Oh, speaking of that... Here's a new breast, Ari. Fill it up and all in private if you want."

Ari didn't much care for privacy, snapping the breast into place and securing it over her chest. "Ellie can spare some saline so no need to wait. Thanks for working so fast, Liv."

"That's literally all I have to do around here. Well, that and examine that android."

Yoyo sat upright and motioned to stand. "So we're good here? I can walk and all?"

"Just be mindful not to get anything on the muscles. I'll have a new skin grown in a few hours. Used the last of the stuff on that boob, and ladies first after all..."

Yoyo grinned as he teased the ermine. "I see how it is now. You switched teams so that's where all the special treatment goes now..."

"Rude, Yoyo. Oh, right... speaking of the odd-gendered though..." Ari stood and slowly made her way to an adjoined room. "Carmine, you feeling any better?"

"Someone basically just chucked a baseball into my temple. How do you think?" Car took a moment to simply breathe before returning his attention in a calmer state. "Sorry. This headache's a bitch."

"That's a concussion for ya'. Just take it easy for a bit."

"Where the hell is Adem? He's not avoiding me, you think?"

Ari tried to force out the mental flashes of what his evil side was capable of doing. "I... I uh, had to lock him up. There's more we haven't shared from when you were out."

"Like why you've got a saggy tit?" Carmine was obviously forcing himself to retain a cheerful posture, even going so far as to smile while hissing at an adjustment to his head bandage. "So what did the big oaf do this time?"

"He... killed some kids. Oh, but--!" Ari shook and cringed as she innately attempted to defend a member of her crew, even knowing the severity of the situation. "We, um... We're trying to figure out if he was justified in some way. We can't condone his type of justice, but we need to know... well, if those kids were with the enemy."

"I... suspected it was something like that."

"Those kids planted a bomb, that's for sure. We just don't know if it was an enemy attack, hatred for us, terrorism, or even a misguided prank."

Yoyo walked over when he felt his twin's emotional state, immediately giving her a comforting hug. "Lulu, we'll get through this."

"Was it that bad?" Carmine slumped backwards into his bed and stared at he ceiling. "We're... gonna have to give him to the local authorities, aren't we?"

"If it were me personally, I'd have put a bullet between his ears already." Ari caught herself actually growling out those words and flushed her personal memories of Ademeus to the wayside. "But I can't do that to you. And at the very least, he deserves justice. He'd probably be sentenced to death, be he deserves a fair trial at least."

"I know it wasn't easy for you. He raped you, and he cries about it all the time. You've given him a fresh start and I can't ask for more than that." Carmine started crying and flipped onto his side to hide the evidence. "I know I'll probably lose him in all this, but it was worth a shot trying to save him from himself. Thank you, Ari."

Ilaria perked up with renewed vigor, heading out to the main room. "No, that won't do. If Vi can take back her own body, so can Adem. We'll find a way to redeem him so you two can be happy." She huffed her way into Elliot's office and shoved open the door hatch. "Ellie, how's our special guest?"

"She's asleep. Surgery went better than anticipated, but even with their faster healing the Yangurra still need to rest."

"Ain't that the truth?" Carbon waved from a chair beside the door. "I'm still healing from that damned gunshot wound. It itches like crazy."

"Carbon--perfect." Ari stepped further into the room as her brother and Zoë tried to enter. "You don't happen to know how Yangurran law works, do you?"

"There almost isn't any. If someone's guilty, they normally just force it out with a Link. Punishment is determined by any involved peers."

"Well a Link isn't happening with Adem. Hmm..." The otter started pacing the room, ignoring when her deflated breast flopped out of her sirat wraps. "What's the deal with terrorism then? If a terrorist is found, what's the punishment?"

"Terrorism? You mean the explosion was intentional?" Carbon blinked a few times as Ari's eyes burned in need of answers. "Oh, right. The... terrorists would be treated to their own misdeed. In cases like those, whomever confirms the act can carry out the sentence immediately for the safety of the general public."

"Perfect! There's a chance, then!" Ari pulled up another chair and sat across from Carbon. "Well, maybe not perfect but close enough. Adem... did do more than just kill them..."

"The terrorists? They planned on killing the whole crew so killing them would be proper, as much as I hate to admit it." Carbon clutched her statue of Evelyn like a good luck charm, then rubbed her pendant in a similar fashion. "I believe there are special cases such as war that allow any means that lead a result, though. What exactly did Adem do besides kill them?"

"I... would rather not say with Carmine so close." Ari leaned forward, finally realizing her tit was swaying in the breeze. "Uh... But wait, wartime changes things? Like, you can take whatever steps you like if the sentence is fulfilled?"

"Basically. Yangurraa rarely go to war, and when they do it's over a core belief or something similar. Their wars are to the death, without mercy." Carbon paused as she felt a hint of Eve flare up in her faint Link to the charms. "I don't agree with that, but it's not my place to argue. Besides, this colony could be different somehow so my opinion really wouldn't matter."

"But still, all we need to do is prove those kids were working with the Sect. There might be a chance of clearing Adem's name then, and we can focus on helping his issues from there."

"I guess so, but there's two parts to that." Carbon held out two webbed paws as if they were scales, emphasizing weight on the first point. "You need to find solid evidence since there's no Link available, which is a plausible goal. Then Adem needs to present his case, convincingly... which might not be so easy with his rougher side present."

"Crap. You're right. Well, first we should find some proof in any--" Ari froze for a moment to examine Gimbal as she floated into the room, sporting a plethora of new parts attached to her central core. "Huh. Right, evidence. We don't have too much time before they'll want our heads, even with--" Gimbal roughly shoved against Ari's arm, nearly knocking her over. "Shit! Gods, what does she want? Pris?"

Prisma faded into view inside the frame of a medical hologram projector. "One moment... Ah, interesting; she's done."

"She's done? Done what?"

"Oh, sorry. I guess I was a bit out of context there." Pris shrank herself down to make room for a replica model of Gimbal's core sphere plus each of her new additions. "She's finished her basic protective shell, so Gimbal has been rapidly prototyping communications modules. She says she's ready to start adapting them to English."

"So she can talk now?" Jumping the gun a bit, Ari leaned closer to the floating orb and smiled. "You're able to understand me now? Can you answer me back?"

"She's still parsing our language, Ari. Keep talking and she'll eventually get it down." Pris returned to her regular scale, shrinking Gimbal's models in turn. "There's visual sensors on her now too, but she's come to terms with not understanding visual data. On the other paw..." The AI willed a full holographic representation of the Starbreeze's dock into view, only for it to come alive with recorded motion moments later. "I think ~we~ can definitely make use of it. She somehow records entire scenes in real-time so there's got to be something useful here."

"Definitely! This is superb. Thank you, Gimbal." Ari pulled the sphere close for a kiss to her core. "Help them find what we need to prove those kids were the enemy. I'll make sure we have someone to present it to the locals."

Yoyo blocked his twin's path for a moment to buy a few seconds. "Lulu, you want me to come? I know you and that idiot have... history."

"No, but thanks. We don't want to rile Adem up and wake up his worse side, plus the more eyes we have on this footage the better." Ari took a moment to clear her head in preparation for what was on her mental docket, then nodded to herself and headed out the door. "I'll do my part. Make sure we have the other ready, too."

"I won't let you down, sis."

"I know; you never do."

"Ari, ma'am?..."

Ilaria nudged her snout towards the hallway door for the third time since she'd brought up the topic. "He won't respond well with others listening in. I'll still be able to call out if you're needed."

"Well Mister Cid always trained us to stick with the cargo no matter what."

"Yeah, but this is a sensitive situation." Ari rubbed her temple as she reasoned with the new recruit, a rather colorfully-dyed civet. "Look, this is a special case. I'm not telling you to do more than this, but since we've only got a limited amount of time before a revolt breaks out in town my options are limited."

"I... I guess..." The civet looked around for an excuse, finding one in a drip coming from the brig's sink faucet. "I guess it's a safety hazard if the prisoner slips on leaking water. I'll give you control of things while I go file a work order."

"Awesome. Thank you, uh..." Ari stepped forward with a paw extended. "Well, sorry... I haven't met all of the new guys yet. You know my name, but...?"

"Oh, shucks. Think nothing of it, Ari. I can forgive som'n like that for taking us in after that whole Sect mess. Name's Ginivieve Laurel, but the guys call me Gin."

"Ginivieve?" Ari quirked her head a bit at the disparity between the new soldier's appearance and name. "Sorry... Are you a woman?"

"Ah, I get that a lot." Gin slipped off her military cap and her long, neon-striped hair flowed down past her shoulders. "These uniforms don't show it off like our Sect ones did. I swear, it's like whoever designed these wanted to hide all gender on purpose."

Ari nearly exploded in laughter when she realized the new uniforms were partially designed by Sydney. "Y-Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Well welcome to the team, Gin. And thanks for... ~this~."

"No problemo, ma'am. I'll give you... fifteen minutes or so?" Gin holstered her pistol and stepped into the hallway. "I'll make sure you're okay after that, but just holler if you need help."

"Perfect. Thanks, Gin." Ari nodded as the civet closed the brig hatch and then moved closer to Ademeus' cell. "So, we're free to chat now. No cameras or anything in case you're nervous. How you holding up in here?"

"I... don't like the quiet. Between those kids' voices and myself, I'm pretty sure I'll go crazy like this."

"Yeah... Yeah, I understand that." Ari pulled up a chair from a corner and sat in it backwards. "So you talk to yourself? You mean the... darker side of you?"

"Yeah, him. He's coming back a bit stronger, slowly." Adem sighed in defeat, continuing with a slight twitch to one of his eyes. "I think I can hold him back though. No, I'm sure of it. Ever since I heard Carmine was alright... well, I've been alright."

"Good. That's exactly what I like to hear. We need you in the right state of mind if we're going to clear your name. I'm sure Car would want to join you if they decided to execute you for all this, and I'm not cool with losing anybody."

"Uh... Speaking of Car... can I see him, somehow?"

"I can't let you leave this cell just yet, though I'm working on that." Ari pulled out her tablet and flipped open a security application. "He's still in Medical. I think... Yeah, he's got a console next to the bed. Want to dial him up on this? I'm sure he'd like to hear your voice about now."

"Definitely! Can we do video? Come here and let's see if we can make the most of it."

"Oh, sure." Ari stood and moseyed over, her eyes on her screen as she swapped applications. "Yeah, I think I can do video on this thing. It's not a ship console though, so I might a minute to set it up fir--"

"Psych." The liger grabbed Ilaria firmly by the back of her head and slammed her forehead into the metal bars. "You're such a ~stupid~ bitch. You know that, right?"

"Ah! Gi--!"

Before Ari could raise her voice Adem had already clamped her stubby muzzle shut. "No you don't. You're all mine, now." He grabbed the tablet from Ari's paw, found the security controls, unlocked his cell, and tossed the device onto his bed. "And now that I'm in control, there's a few changes I'm making. The first is that mouth of yours. You gonna stay quiet? Yes or no, bitch."

The pressure eased off Ari's muzzle, giving her but a fraction of a second to squeak, "Hel--!" before even more pressure wrung her whiskers painfully.

"No? Thought so." Adem reached down with his free paw and unzipped his pants. With unsurprising ease due to the size difference between the two, he then forced Ari to her knees as he fed his cock into her mouth. In a single, swift motion his buried himself until his balls smacked the otter's chin. "Time to teach you how you ~should~ use that mouth of yours. A bitch only exists to serve."

Ademeus waited until his victim started passing out before he eased back, allowing just enough slack that she could gasp around his barbed manhood. Once he deemed her ready, he clamped down on the hair behind Ari's head and she took a reflexive breath. Again that length of throbbing, thick liger slammed down her gullet, but at least this time she was prepared with the pulmonary endurance her species held.

"So here's how it is. I'm not staying in this fucking box anymore. You knew that much already." Adem's free paw joined the other to provide leverage as he rapidly fucked Ari's muzzle through the cell bars. "What you don't seem to know is that I ~own~ you. That other butch bitch you like? Your new brats? Don't listen to me and you'll listen to their last breaths instead." He slowed to an eventual stop, then loosened his grip again. "We clear on this? I think you know how to answer."

Ari cringed and shook as she realized what Adem's evil side was explaining. Her only available answer was a mumbled, "Mn-hn," as she started moving her head on her own.

"Good, pet. You came along faster than I expected... not that it helps when you fucking suck at giving muzzle." Adem led Ari over to the cell door and rounded himself to the outside of the cell. He pulled Ari upward and forced his tongue into her mouth for a moment. "I think I have another way for you to prove your loyalty. You want to play ball, or should I show you what your pups look like on the inside?"

Absolutely defeated, Ari drooped her head down and let her body be controlled like a marionette. "I'll... play along..."

"Good. Then show me my favorite trick." The liger reached down beneath Ari's sirat drapes and angled her manhood harshly downward. ~Fuck yourself~ for me."

Ari slowly took control of her own cock, angling it in reverse so it made a large, flaccid loop into her own nethers. "Like... Like this?"

"Deeper. Do it like you mean it." Adem took a step back and held up the front drapes for a clear view. "Don't stop until you cum, bitch."

"But I... I might not be able to..."

"Oh, don't give me that." Adem smirked, then moved closer as he spun Ari around to press against the cold metal bars. "Maybe all you need is a little ~motivation~."

"But it's the angle, and my bacu--" Adem wasn't having any of Ari's complaints. Instead, he shoved himself halfway into her ass without a drop of lube. "Ouch! W-Wait!"

Adem snapped a paw over Ari's yipping muzzle and pressed himself forward, barely able to contain the escalating screaming. "See? The sooner you finish up, the sooner I stop fucking your ass raw. Motivation."

"B-Bas...tard..." Ari growled lowly as she was violated, but as Adem seemed true to his word about destroying her ass she also tried to cram as much of her manhood into herself as possible. "I... can't get any more..."

"Ah, fuck... And I haven't done this in forever either. Looks like you're in luck." Ademeus pulled himself free of Ari's rectum and let his cock rest beneath her tail. He placed a paw on the underside of Ari's cock and tested with a firm press. "Huh, you 're right. Looks like you need more than just encouragement."

"Please... it hurts..."

"Really?" Adem pressed his own cock against the edge of Ari's, then with a massive shove he forced himself inside the otter's overfilled pussy. He kept up the pressure on her manhood though, forcing it to feed deeper and deeper into herself in tandem with the new intruder. "Damn, you're big on the outside and tiny inside. Just my type." He shimmied himself out a bit and tried again, this time with a paw already around Ari's muzzle. He knew what was coming and was entirely prepared for when he forced the whole of her cock inside with his, snapping Ari's baculum like a twig as she knotted herself. "Oh, fuck. I'm dumping a nut, bitch. Any complaints? Want it outside?"

"Ah--..." Ari nearly passed out as the bone in her canine cock shattered and her cunt tore from the extreme change in volume. "N--..."

"Ah... Nothing...? Fine..." Adem hilted himself as he released his seed directly into Ari's violated folds. "Fuck, that feels good. You don't know how much I missed this tight pussy of yours."

"Pl... Please..." Ari's eyes lit up as a forced orgasm ran through her lower body as Adem pulled himself free, the extra sensation on her knot setting her off inside herself as her own spade clamped around it in an act of betrayal. "Gods... no..."

"So you ~did~ like it. Nasty bitch." Ademeus tucked his cock back into his pants as he found the nearby chair. "Well you're so tight it took the life outta me. Don't think this is the last time I'm tapping that tail, pet. And you slip a word of this... and you'll... lose your..."

"F-Fuck... y-y-you..."

"What!?" Ademeus practically kicked the chair across the room as he spilled out of it, immediately inspecting what he'd done to Ilaria's sexes. "Gods, what did I do!? H-How do I...?! I can't fix this!"

Ari twitched as her knot was prodded. "I won't... tell anyone..."

"Ari, no! You need to stop me! Lock m-me... up..."

Adem slumped to his knees, his other side still holding onto a margin of control. "He's still... got you, Adem..." Ari picked herself up and grabbed the cell bars for support. "Ah... Fuck... Adem, I have... a family... to watch..."

The door pulled open in a hurry, the guard civet answering the recent clattering. "Ari, ma'am? Is everything alright? I think I heard a scream."

Ari looked down to the defeated liger as she straightened her sirat bottoms. "We're fine. I just... convinced Adem here that we're clearing his name before we leave. Isn't that right?"

"But...?" A pain in his chest forced Adem to reconsider his options. "Y-Yes. I'll clear my name."

"So he's good to go? You're setting him loose?" Gin walked over and helped the liger to his hindpaws, nearly slipping in a small puddle of Ari's love juices in the process. "Ah, sorry about that. Guess that leak really was a problem. No hard feelings, pal?"

"Uh... No, we're... fine..."

"And are you fine, ma'am? You hurt yourself catchin' the big guy?" Gin reached up and placed a handkerchief over a slight cut on Ari's forehead. "You need to watch yourself, captain. He's heavier than he looks."

"Yeah, I... figured that out the hard way." Ari held the cloth to her head and limped over to the door, the torquing on her knot sending pangs of torturous pain through her crotch. "We should, uh... get the doc to look at us. And the least I can do to make up for all of this is to let you see Carmine."

"But I.... and you...?"

"You might not see him alive again if things go wrong. I might not see my family, either." Ari stopped to open the hallway hatch, hissing beneath her breath as her broken bone tried its best to make her cry. "Go see him. Then we'll do what we must with the locals and... we'll go from there. All we can do is hope it'll work out. Right?"

"R-Right."

"There's way too much math in that for me to--" Iolvin snapped his tail to the floor and jogged over to his sister as she returned to the Medical Bay office with Ademeus in tow. "Lulu! Are you okay? I felt--"

"I'm fine, Yoyo." Ilaria slowly moved to Elliot's desk and half-sat off the edge, trying her best to hold back a whimper as she torqued her broken manhood. "I... I got Adem in order. We're good to present anything we've found."

"I don't give a fuck about that. You were--"

«Yoyo, shut up. I'm...» Ari flushed her head clear for a moment and silenced her wireless Link to contemplate the repercussions of revealing her new situation versus lying to her twin brother. «Fuck it. Adem... No, the bastard inside that poor pussy cat... well, he raped me again.»

«That son of a fucking bitch! He's dead!»

«Yoyo, quiet! Don't make a scene!» Thankfully the Link happened much faster than they perceived real-time, allowing Ari to stop her brother before he acted physically. «He threatened my family, Yoyo. The way he's backed into a corner, I absolutely know he's serious too.»

«So he's fucking walking around free and easy then? Fuck!» Yoyo exuded raw rage over the Link, but somehow found a balance between helpfulness and vengeance. «So if he knows you've told me, he'll snap and go on a rampage? Shit... Lilly's brother was afraid of the guy, and he was unstoppable. We don't want or need that.»

«He already has some sort of thing against me. I'd assume that puts you next on his list.»

«Fuck clearing his name. Let's just give him over and the locals can kill his ass.»

«Yoyo... besides certainly starting one of those rampages, if we do that...» Ari cringed and loosened her thighs some. «We'll need to come back here if we head home, so we need a good reputation and not a destroyed colony. Then there's Carmine...»

«Carmine I'm not concerned about. He shouldn't be hooking up with a serial rapist.» Yoyo felt a pulse of negative feedback for that comment, mixed with the pangs of agony his twin had felt. «Lulu, are you alright? I think... I actually felt pain there. Pain in my...»

«I was raped, Yoyo. It wasn't smooth jazz, flowers, and a bucket of lube.» Ari squirmed as her knot finally gave way, yet the rest of her destroyed length stayed inside her limply. «I need... medical attention, but very discretely. Can you help set that up out of Adem's sight?»

«The bastard hurt you!?» Yoyo slowly reached below his sister's sirat skirt and halted when he felt the stream of cum rolling down her thighs. «He went too deep? What do I tell Ellie?»

«No, that... that'll heal. My penis though...» As Yoyo pulled the appendage free Ari simply had no say in letting out a quiet yelp of pain. «Fuck! Wait, Yoyo! Ah!... He... Fuck, he broke it.»

«He what!?» Yoyo gingerly squeezed his sister's girth, but backed away both as she whimpered and as the flesh bent far out of its normal range. «Oh crap... Shit... I'll let Ellie know, somehow. We need to get that... fixed or...»

«I'm already making a scene. Let me... try to focus on this.» Ari gave her brother a hug and walked over to the holograms the gang was inspecting. «Get Dee to help. He'll be able to talk with Ellie easier than you.»

«Yeah, that's probably the best way to handle it. Then I'll try to find a way out of this mess.»

«Thank you, Yoyo. Just be very careful Adem stays out of the loop.»

«Definitely. He's not hurting you any more than he already has.»

Ari secretly rasped a claw to lightly cut on the palm of her left paw, then held it up for the others to see. "Sorry, I uh... I cut myself on the edge of the desk."

Elliot walked over to give it a check, then headed for a small medical kit to find an adhesive or spray gel bandage. "Sorry about that. I moved it around the other day and cut myself too. The corners don't snap together right and they're pretty sharp."

"It's alright. We'll fix it when we get a chance." Ari nudged her nose towards a view of the ship depicting the explosion in action. "So what did we find, guys?"

"Hard to tell." Adrian looked through a pool of holograms and brought up one they'd paused that gave a great view of dry land. "This is a while before the bomb was placed. See those kids?"

"On top this building here? That's... Yeah, that's them I think." The image fuzzed and flickered in low resolution due to the range from Gimbal's cameras. "Can we clear that up? And who are those two extra guys?"

"That's already after cleanup. Gimbal's unable to tell what is clear versus not, so it's been... interesting cleaning it up." Dee tapped each of the two figures, his fingers resting just above exposed tendrils. "We don't know who these guys are, but they're definitely Yangurraa. And see this boxy thing in this one's hands?"

"Boxy thing..." Something small and delicate sat in the shorter of the two's hands, flickering wildly due to the resolution. "Is that the bomb? Can we prove that?"

"Damn straight we can." Carbon tapped the hologram array and the item highlighted red, then moments later the scene fast-forwarded to the explosion. "That device walked all the way from those two and onto our hull, for absolute certain. That's enough to prove those kids were working for someone with deadly intent. I'd really like to know who those two are that planned the whole thing, though."

"So we don't know who started it, but they were obviously organized and the kids were working for them. That screams Sect to me."

"And that's my consensus. The Sect used kids to play innocent while planting the bomb. That's a common tactic of theirs." Carbon sat down in her chair to the side and nodded now that all the pieces had come together. "We have enough to get you out of this, Adem. If we present this the right way, we can go back to being buddies with this outpost."

"And they can finish loading supplies and we can get the fuck out of Dodge." Ari shivered as her groin lit on fire with swelling pain. "Ah... Adem, prepare your statement. Carbon, figure out how we'll show this to the Yangurraa here without letting them on the Starbreeze. We'll get together in, uh... two hours on the bridge."

"Sure thing." Carbon stood and brought a paw to her pendant in ponderous thought. "I'll bug your girls about it. I'm sure we can figure something out together."

"Ah, Ari? Care to hop in Yomi's room for a moment?" Ellie nervously slid out into the main Medical area and nudged his snout towards the room in question. "There's no disinfectant in my kit, but I used some on Yomi earlier..."

"Oh, sure." Ari acted as normal as possible before a suspicious liger as she shuffled over to Ellie. "Yeah, better safe than sorry."

Dee and Yoyo followed close behind, but Dee barred his husband from progressing when he spotted Adem checking the medical kit for the disinfectant spray. «He's almost onto us. Honey, let's check on Ari's kids. We can meet there.»

«Yeah, good idea. We'll keep them and Rhyme safe, Lulu.»

«Thank you, guys.» Ari slipped into the patient room and limped over to the free bed. "It hurts so fucking much. Help me out, Ellie."

The smaller otter pulled a spray bottle of disinfectant out of his lab coat and placed it on the stand next to the bed. "I'm looking out for you, hon. DeeDee gave me the basics, but I still need to see it."

"Shit... Okay, but I think it'll hurt if--"

"Let me get it, then." Ellie carefully pulled up Ari's drapes and frowned at the obvious break, accompanied by bruising and swelling. "It's bad. Hell, it's... healing in a vastly different manner than normal, which is probably due to your nanites."

"Can you fix it?"

"I'm not sure what I can and can't do. We'll get you in the scanner once that rapist ass is out of my clinic." Ellie reached into his coat again and pulled out a syringe. "For now, I'll give you something to dull the pain."

Ari backed away harshly, but went limp in pain after the impulsive move. "No painkillers! I don't need that shit in me!"

"Ari, I'm aware of your history with them but you need this right now." Ellie used his patient's inability to resist to his advantage, jabbing the needle into her upper thigh. "Sorry. If you move around while I'm working down there it might go sour though. You don't want to lose your penis, do you?"

"Fuck. No. No, I don't." Ari frowned as a familiar tingly sensation flushed through her lower body. "No more than that. I don't want to go back to... being an abuser..."

"That's it. You have my word." Ellie gave Ari's cock a tap or two and nodded when its owner didn't respond. "Now let's see what's going on under that sheath..."

"Be careful. It still burns a little."

"It does? That's unusual. Normally that means nerve damage or..." Ellie immediately regretted looking closer, his paw now covered in a thin layer of liquid infection. "Your nanites are acting too fast for their own good. The wound wasn't clean and so... Crap. We have to operate before this infection spreads."

"You're gonna cut me open!?"

"Just to drain the infection and clean things up. With any luck I can just set he bone and give you some antibiotics, if they even work with you now anyway." Elliot walked over to a tray near Yomi's bed and brought the contents over. He picked up a scalpel, made sure it was dried of any cleansing solution, and brought it down to Ilaria's crotch. "You might want to look away for this. You ready?"

Ilaria slumped her head to look at the doctor lazily. "Mnn... Y-Yeah..."

"At least the painkillers are working. You won't remember a thing." The small, pale otter carefully lined the area with medical napkins and rubbed a benzine antiseptic prep over the side of Ilaria's penis. "Wish me luck?"

"Mm... Yeah, unicorns..."

"Are we safe in here, Pris?"

The AI stared blankly for a moment, then finally blinked and nodded her head. "The room is sealed and mostly surveillance proofed. My body's keeping guard as well. I'd still keep my voice down just in case."

"Alright, good. Thank you guys for hearing me out." Iolvin sat down at the end of the ready room table, leaning forward to lace his fingers nervously. "Let's get this emergency meeting going. I need your help, and your absolute secrecy too. If you're not cool with that, leave now."

There was an awkward silence between the close friends and family filling the various seats of the room until Carbon spoke up. "We're with you, whatever the matter. Sounds serious, too."

"It is. Adem is out of control, literally. He can't control his body any more for whatever reason." Yoyo forced himself to sit back in his chair and loosen up a little, though it didn't do terribly much for his mood. "The bad egg in him is walking around because he threatened my sister and her family. My family. Our family. He needs to be stopped, but if he gets a hint of anyone finding out he'll probably tear this ship apart with his bare paws."

"Wait, Ademeus is back to the way he was?" Lilith shoved her chair back in disgust. "Shit. I saw him get in a fight with my brother and they both ended up in a bed for a month. This needs to be handled... gently, to say the least."

"Exactly. He'll ruin our mission and destroy what else we have with the good-guy Yangurraa, and that's supposing we even live to care." Yoyo gave up on sitting and stood whilst kicking his seat backward. "He already... hurt Lulu. We need to contain him before he does more damage."

"Oh, speaking about that," mentioned Elliot as he swiped through some medical records, "your sister is doing well. She had... Well, she's missing more of her than she deserves already, and Adem just took another bit. I'll go into detail later if you'd like."

"First of all, erase whatever you're reading there. No telling if Adem might come across it randomly." Yoyo leaned a little closer to the smaller otter and lowered his voice. "And what's the damage? We're all family here, but if it's sensitive..."

"Oh, well she's a bit more like you now." Ellie lightly slapped his data pad against his crotch. "You're definitely trying to stay twins."

Yoyo couldn't help but choke out a sharp response that everyone definitely heard. "She lost her dick!? Fuck, I'll kill the bastard!"

"No! Yoyo, it's not that bad! No no!" Ellie reeled Yoyo back to a calmer state and whispered his update more privately into his ear. "Her baculum was rotting away and needed to be removed. It'll heal in a few days I'm guessing. She'll just have a floppy cock like your prosthetic ones is all."

"Gods... You scared me there for a minute. She'd lose it if she lost another part of her from that guy." Yoyo forced his lungs to calm down with a few slow breaths. "Okay... Sorry, guys. Adem. We're here to talk about Adem."

Adrian reached over and rubbed his husband's side. "Honey, we should take Ari's kids for a while. We can keep them safe while she rests."

"Rhyme would probably kill us. She..." Yoyo sat down again, scooting his chair under the table next to Adri. "Her kids are growing up fast and she's really intent on missing none of it. Besides, that would probably cue Adem in on our plans."

"But I won't." Sydney rested her elbows on the table and clasped her paws together. "My job is security, and if we're all going out to chat about our little incident with the natives it won't look odd at all for me to shadow Ari. Besides, I owe her and her family."

"Cid, no special treatment. You mostly lead your guys these days, and again I'm not looking to set the guy off."

"But his assumed punishment is death. If he went berserk and we stopped him with force, everything would work out in a way." Carbon sighed as she thought of the intricate details of the forming plan. "I suppose Cid could stay hidden though. We have our new suits and stealth is a big function of them. I'm forgetting what special abilities Adem has exactly, however. If he's got better vision like me, we might screw things up all the same."

Cid joined her partner in a sigh. "I thought he just had the awesome healing. This is making my head hurt now."

"Yeah, I wish Eve could help me remember more. My memory isn't the same without her."

"Well think about that and let us know if you remember something certain." Yoyo drooped his head as the room went silent again, then forced a proposal. "Wait. Speaking about stealth and spying, what could Gimbal do? She's small and her sensor things pack a punch."

Prisma's hologram conferred with Sprite, until the small, slimy girl pulled up a message. <Gimbal says she may help, but she isn't certain of her durability should Ademeus attack.>

"She's scared? Yeah, even if I was a space rock I'd be hiding from that guy too." Yoyo leaned forward and slammed his fist onto the tabletop enough to vibrate the bolts that held it down. "Fuck. Well that's an option, but I can't force her to do it. There has to be some way to help Lulu though. I can't just leave family to suffer like that."

"Then I'll help."

Everyone looked around the room, unable to place the voice. Everyone except Carbon, who looked like she'd heard a ghost. "What...?" The statue of Evelyn faded away in a pool of ultraviolet light, followed by the stone on her Pendant. "No... Wait! I need tha--!"

"Carbon, you don't need that charm." In a flush of reds and yellows, A small body built itself sitting on the edge of the table. That body gained definition, then color, then presence. Evelyn stood herself up on shaky legs and smiled. "You have ~me~, silly."

Contrary to her intents, Carbon collapsed onto the floor drooling streams of gleeful tears. "Eve! Goddess, you're back!"

"Eve?" Iolvin blinked a few times, then reached down to help the hybrid off the floor. "This is Eve? Like, 'Evelyn' Eve?"

"You can... see her?"

"Yes, they can see me. Carbon, I'm... Goddess, this is strange to say." The foot tall plant girl floated upwards and onto Carbon's shoulder, only to nearly fall off when the hybrid freaked out from being physically touched. "Woah! Carbon, I'm real now! Wait!"

"Ah!" Carbon froze stiff, forcing herself to adjust to actually feeling the weight of his companion for the first time in her life. "You're... yeah."

"It's hard to explain, but... well, I'm independent now. I'm myself. It's hard for me to grasp as well." Eve found her own point of balance on Carbon's shoulder, herself never having to worry about physics before. "This is all new for me, too. Just take it slow."

"It's really you... Goddess..."

"How is this possible?" Dee walked over and gave the former imaginary friend a poke, finding her extremely solid like stone even though she moved around fluidly. "Minds don't just make their own bodies. What's happening here?"

"I... Well, I could explain all of it to myself, but there's no real words for the process in English--well, any language for that matter." Eve froze solid for a moment and her whole body turned the purest black just like the stone Carbon previously carried. "I'm a new, more advanced state of matter than found anywhere in the universe. I kept myself intact with willpower or something as a singularity formed in that reactor. So if I had to explain it simply... Uh, this is what happens when you let a black hole balance out instead of burst?"

"Oh. Well forget I asked. I mean... I'm glad you're alive, but I'm also curious..."

"I'll try to simplify things now that I'm back in control of myself. Where I was for all that time... wasn't pleasant." Eve slumped against her former host, snuggling into the well of her neck as her color faded back into place. "Give me some time to rest and I'll help with Ari. I've got a plan to neutralize Adem without killing him."

"Eve, you don't need to do a thing. You've earned your stripes." Carbon tried to move his companion, finding her just as oddly solid as Dee did. "Huh... Uh, yeah. Just take it easy and we'll come up with something. I don't want to lose you again."

"And I don't want to lose you." Eve adjusted herself to rest in Carbon's webbed paws. "If Adem loses control, I might lose you in the ensuing shit storm. We might lose others close to you, and I'd lose a part of the Carbon I love in the process. No, my mind's made up. Now let me sleep for a bit and we'll talk through the night."

"What? Wait, Eve?" The little flower closed her eyes and lost her color, only to then flash brilliantly as she morphed back into a black stone. "Eve!?"

«I'm right here, Carbon.» The phantom form of Evelyn smiled from across the room, back in her host's head via the stone's newly-formed Link. «We made a promise together, Carbon. We'll always stay by each other's sides.»
