Stupid Reasons- Chapter 1                                                                                              The new lifeToday I'm moving... it came soon enough. Finally finished college, some how gathered enough money to buy a house, but still don't have a car. And i'm supposed to be an automotive engineer, how ironic."You grew up so fast, I can't believe you're leaving." my mom said through her sobs. "Well, now you just need to get my older brother out of the house." I joked. "Heh, yeah, good luck." Crystal pointed out. I won't bother saying bye to my brothers, they've never helped me. "Well, this my final goodbyes,  love you guys" I told my mom and Crystal. Crystal View Point, I will always be reminded of my sister due to this town. "Wow," I thought. "One week just to get there. Two plane rides." Well here we go. Off to my new life. "Hey." my friend Jack texted. He lives there and will show me around. He won't pick me up due to his job, I have an uber though. "What's up?" I texted back. "What makes you want to move here?" he asked. "Well... stupid reasons." I replied.  Well, after two long plane rides i'm finally here, in Crystal View Point. Nice medium sized town, good neighborhoods, bad neighborhoods, and some country, mountains mostly. Now I just need to request or contact a uber. 5 minutes later and the he arrives. "Sorry, traffic is pretty bad." He explained to me. "It's okay, i'm in no rush." I smiled. I was in no rush because I could only afford a place in the bad part of town. "So?" he asked "Where to?" "Oh, uh, Prowl street." I stuttered. "Oh, that place, it's a bad area, you know." he told me. "I know, but it's all I could afford." I explained. "Oh."he replied. "Yeah."I said. "You want any particular radio station on?" he asked. "No thank you, i'm good with this." I said. "So, do you have money for a car?" he asked. "Yeah, a junker though." I replied shamefully. He just nodded and the rest of the ride was silent. 10 minutes later we arrive at my old torn up house. "Thank you," I told him while paying. "No problem." he smiled. "I made a mistake." I told myself as he drove off.It was the next day and sleeping was terrible, almost every other car that passed the house was blasting music. I still had the recite in my pocket from yesterday mainly because I didn't change before I went to sleep, no too tired. I looked at it again and I noticed a phone number, it was the driver's number. There was a note and it read "Here's my number in case you need another ride," well okay, I guess. I hear two rings and I pick up my phone. "Hey, Steven!" Jack greeted. "Hey," I tiredly replied. "Yeah... I can't pick you up today, sorry, one of my co-workers called in sick and I have to go in." he explained. "Yeah, yeah, it's okay." I assured."Alright, bye." he said. "Later..." I said back. *Click.  "Fuck!" I quietly said. Just then I remembered the note and number. "How convenient." I thought to myself. I called the number and he told me he was on his way. "Hello." he greeted me with a smile. "Hey," I quietly said. I never actually examined him at first meet, but now that I look at him fully, he's pretty attractive. German Shepherd and brown eyes from what I could see from the passenger seat. "So, where do you need to go?" he asked. "The closest automotive dealership please," I told him. He smiled and asked "How was your first night here?" "Hell," I told him. "Oh yeah, how come?" he hit me with another question. "The people there with their loud music." I sighed. He grinned. We get to this old car dealership and I get out. "Thanks, again" I say before getting out. I was about to pay him but he refused the money and left. That was really nice of him, now I know a trait of his, kindness.  I get my car an hour later and it is trash, it barely starts and when it does black smoke comes out of it. What did I get myself into? My life is terrible but I guess that's the way it was destined to be, right? I don't know but I just want to get home and take... er I mean try to take a nap. I get home and the car looks right at home in this driveway. Wow that could not be more sad for me though. I wish things could have been different to me. I should've stayed with mom and sister and the rest of them. Welp, there goes another car with loud music. Heh, I guess that's what i'll be counting tonight. I pass out for about two hours. I pick up my phone and notice a text message. What now, Jack saying that he can't see me tomorrow either? It was from a number I didn't know. Then it hits me, it's that driver, the uber. Man I didn't even get his name, how stupid of me. The text read "Hey my shift is over, do you want to hang out for a while?" I blushed just reading the message, but it was sent an hour ago. I wonder and I start to type " Hey, sorry I fell asleep. I hope

that it's not too late to hang out." I replied. After 5 minutes, I didn't think he would text back. I heard a vibrate, he messaged me back. I read it. "Sorry for the late text, got caught up in a t.v show, but I can still hang out. I'll come pick you up now." Wow, I didn't think I would ever make another friend in this town.He picked me up and we went to the town center. At night, the town center looked beautiful. I have never saw a place better than this and I thought Prowl street was the only place, must've forgot. It is a romantic lit star with sidewalks going around it. There is a nicely lit fountain in the middle and a bridge to get the the parking. In the background there is picture perfect view of the mountains in the sunset. "Wow!" I gasped. He laughed and said "I know, that's what I said when I first came here." he explained. "So, um, what's your name?" I asked foolishly. "It's Conrad."he smiled. "Oh, okay, nice name," I said. We were both leaning against the rail overlooking the mountains. "I don't want you living in the current area, it's too dangerous." he complained. "I know, but it's the only place I can afford." I told him looking a bit sadder. He looked at me and said "That's why I want you to move in with me." He smiled. "What!" I almost yelled. "Why, i'm a stranger to you, I know you're just being nice but-" "It's fine." he assured. "I know you enough to know that you would never try to hurt me, am I correct?" he asked. I blushed and agreed with him. There was a mirror next to us and I looked into it "I don't see someone who is worth it, though." I said to him. "Well, what do you see?" he asked. "A pathetic gray wolf, with hair hiding half his face." I said sadly. "Well, do you want to know what I see?" he asked blushing. "What?" I asked. "A cute and kind gray wolf that has a whole bunch of potential." he continued to blush. "Then that mirror must be broke," I gloomily replied. "I'll think about your offer but I just don't want to be an obstacle in your house." I looked at him. "You won't, trust me." he pleaded. "Like I said, I'll think about it." I told him calmly.
