Chapter 2

Linda made it to her car and back to her home safely. She could still smell Curtus on her. She took out the folded napkin and placed it on the lamp desk in her living room. She set off to her bedroom and went to sleep, thinking of Curt.

Curt went to his apartment and took a shower. He could still she Linda's face, and he couldn't help but compare it to Hers. "Good please. I beg you to, if at all, make this one work." He got out of the shower and dressed in shorts and went to bed.

The next morning Linda went to the kitchen to grab a bowl of Total cereal. She then took it to the living room and sat in front of the T.V. She went to grab the remote when she noticed the napkin on the lamp desk. She picked it up and sniffed it. It still held Curt's scent. She opened it up to see Curt's signature.

Curtus Howling

She stared at it for a while until she noticed that there was backwards lettering appearing on the other side of the napkin. She turned it over to reveal Curt had written down his number and drew a very quick sketch of a wolf's head.

"Slay devil" She got up and went for the phone. She paused as her hand went out to grab it. "Maybe he's not up yet. I'll just wait."

Curtus sat in front of his T.V. playing his Xbox with the phone right next to him. He could barely sleep. Images of Linda flooded his head. Images of Her as well. "Maybe she's not up yet. Maybe she didn't find the number." He shook the thoughts from his mind. "She'll call."

2 hours pasted

Linda finally picked up the phone and started to dial. She paused. "What am I going to say?" She when to shut off the phone, but press the dial button instead. "Shit."

The ringing of the phone startled Curt. He almost pounced on the phone as he answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi. Curtus?"

"Yes."

"Hey it's Linda. You know from last night."

"Hey there." His tail started to wag. How could he have forgotten? She was constantly on his mind.

"Nice little doodle you got here."

Curt laughed uneasily. "Yeah well I wasn't sure you seen the number. I drew that 'doodle' so you would be able to remember me. You must have had so many guys give you their number last night." There was no hint of sarcasm in his voice. He really did believe she had other numbers to call.

"No. Just yours." Linda said halfheartedly.

"I don't know to be blessed or insulted by that." He said playful.

"Insulted." She replied giggling. Her tail slightly wagging.

He to laughed.

"I was starting to worry you didn't see the number."

"Oh I did. I was just going to let hang for a little bit."

"Well" He smiled.

"So what are you up to? Writing any more songs?"

"No, no writing. Just sitting around. Play games."

"Oh so you're a game geek as well?"

Curt laughed.

"Yeah I never really got into those things. Maybe you could teach me sometime."

Curt's ears perked up. "Was that just hint for a date?" "Ahh ya sure anytime?"

"Well okay then it's a date."

"It was." "Okay it's a date then."

"Alright well I guess I'll see you later then."

"Sure later." Curt went to hang up the phone.

"Curt wait"

"Yes."

"You doing any singing tonight?"

"Nope not tonight sorry."

"Damn." She mistakenly said that out loud.

"What was that?"

"Nothing." She wanted to hear him sing again. See him in that collar again.

"Okay then."

"Well I should get going. Got a ton of things to do."

"Okay well I'll let you good."

"See ya Curt."

"See ya Linda."

Linda hung up.

Curt still had the phone to his ear. He sniffed it picking up only the phantom of her scent.

As the day passed all Curt could do was think about Linda and the soon-to-be-undetermined-date. It was rounding 4:00pm when Curt realized he didn't have anything planned for supper.

"Well I've got some chicken in the fridge. Maybe I could do for some Shake 'n Bake." Curt then drove down to the store. When he got there he grabbed a cart and started to walk the aisle. Grabbing some odds and ends that he needed. Shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, Gatorade. You know the usual stuff. He then walked down the aisle that had the Shake 'n Bake. He saw it. The last box of Garlic Chicken Shake 'n Bake and he wanted it. He went to grab for it when another pair of hands when for it too.

"Excuse me sir, but I had this first."

"That voice, there is no fucking way." "Linda?" Curt looked up.

"Oh my God! Hi Curtus!" They both held on to their end of the box. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine. Yourself?"

"Good just shopping."

"Same."

There was a small tug on the box from Curt's end.

"From the way it looks you seem to like Shake 'n Bake was well."

"Much." She pulled slightly on the box, neither let go.

Curt smiled.

"What's a big wolf like yourself going to do with such a small meal?" She tapped his nose playfully.

"Small? I usually end up with far to many leftovers."

"And you eat all alone?"

"Mostly, yes."

"Well I can't have that now can I?"

Curt looked at her puzzled.

"You're coming over to my place for dinner."

Curt's ears perked up a little. Linda pulled the box out of Curt's hands and placed it in her cart.

"All I need now is the chicken."

"Umm I have some defrosting at my place."

Linda murred quietly to herself. "Oh really? Well, I guess I'll come over to your place then."

Curt's tail wagged a little. "Okay then."

"I'll just need to drop my things off at my apartment then I'll head

over to your place."

"I'll follow you there. Where do you live?"

"Parkway Apartments17C if you must know."

Curt's ears perked up even more.

"What's up Curt?"

"I live in 17D. The floor above you."

Linda's ear perked up as well and her tail began to wag heavily. All

the years she's lived there and she's never seen him.

"Well at least I don't have to drive to far." Linda joked.

"Yeah." Curt smiled back.

They followed each other to the checkout and back to the apartment.

Curt was a gentlemen as he opened both apartment complex and

elevator door for Linda. Moments later the elevator stopped at floor

C as Linda got off.

"See you soon Curt."

"Ya, see you soon."

She walked down the hallway and with every other step she flicked

her tail. She was toying with Curt. Curt's eyes followed her as the

doors closed. He then shook his head and smiled.

Curt walked to his apartment and began to get ready for Linda's

arrival. He took the cloths that were draped over the back of chairs

and through them into the hamper. He then picked up empty

Gatorade bottles and tossed them in the trash. He packed away his workout

machine and

snuffed out the incense he had burning. There

was a knock on the door. Curt ran to answer it.

"Hello Linda." He said as he opened the door.

"Hey there Curt. Brought the Shake n' Bake."

He smiled. "Well, good. Can't have a party without it."

"Well then I'm glad I brought it then. She walked in and handed the

box to Curtus.

"I'll go get this ready. Make yourself at home."

Linda walked around the apartment, taking in the sights and smells.

"Were you burning something?"

"What," Curt yelled from the kitchen, "Oh ya. Incense."

"Humm. Smells good what is it?"

"Thanks, it's called Dragons Blood."

"Oh how dark of you."

Curt smiled to himself.

"Your apartment looks a hell of a lot like mine."

"Yeah, how's that?" Curt began to shake the chicken in the bag.

"Just the layout. Where the television is and couch. Pretty much everything in between."

"Well that probably could be said for all the apartments. This place is

one big cookie cutter of itself." He took the chicken out of the bag and placed

it onto the

tray and put it into the oven.

"True."

Curt cringed at that word. "Get over it. It's Linda out there, not Her."

She glanced over to an unfinished drawing of the city. "Nice artwork

you got here."

Curt snapped out of it. "Which drawing is that?"

"This one of the city."

"Oh that one. Yeah that one sucks."

Linda gasped. "Well, someone's very critical of themselves."

Curt walked out of the kitchen and towards Linda.

"Well, we are our own worst enemy."

"Says you."

He smiled. "So what should we do for the next few minutes?"

"Well, you did promise me that you'd teach me to play videogames."

"Ahh that's right." He walked over to the T.V. and turn both it and

the Xbox on.

"So what are we playing?"

"It's a game called Soul Caliber. It's a fighting game."

"Oh. Okay."

Curt explained the characters and the buttons for the game. They

picked their characters and went at it.

5 games later with no wins on Curt's end.

"Why do I feel like I just got stiffed?"

"Because I come from a family where I'm the only girl. My three

brothers love videogames and I wanted to fit in so I learned to play."

"Ahh...had much practice?"

"Lots."

'Three brothers, great. If I fuck this up I'm a dead man.' "So what

are you to your brother's age wish?"

"I'm the youngest."

Curt's ears moved back slightly 'Oh God not good.'

Linda noticed this. "Is there a problem Curtus?"

He shook his head to snap himself out of it. "No nothing."

Linda gave a half smile half frown as she looked away.

"Well I think dinners ready." Curt got up and headed for the kitchen.

Linda's eyes followed him as he got up. She was checking him out.

Her eyes traveled down his body until they ended up on his butt.

"God he got a nice ass."

"What would you like to drink?" Curt called from the kitchen.

"Umm...you got any wine?"

Curt raised and eyebrow. "Yeah. Be right out."

Curt brought out two trays with their food and drinks on them. He

placed Linda's down before he settled onto the couch next to her.

"So...what do your parents do for a living?" Linda ask as Curt sat

down.

"Well my mother is, or was I should say, a nurse for the elderly."

"Oh...did she pass away?" Linda frowned and her ears lay back on her head.

Curt laughed. "No she's still alive. It's just she elderly herself now.

She still works in the hospital though. She does the payroll and

scheduling for the other nurses."

"Oh well that's nice. What about your dad?"

"Dad? He was, and still is, a 10th grade teacher."

"That's neat."

"Specially when you have him for one of your teachers."

"Your dad was your teacher? That must have been really weird."

"No not in the least. It was pretty cool."

"Did you have to call him by his last name or?"

"No I called him dad."

"And did the other students make fun of you?"

"Oh God no. He was one of the coolest teachers I had. That the

school had."

"Cool. So do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"Nope. Only child. Only adopted child."

"Wow that must have been rough?

"Nope. I had friends over all the time."

"Ahh."

"So what about your family?"

"Well my parents are divorced. Have been since I was 10."

"Oh, sorry to hear that."

"Nah don't be. They just had different views on things. They didn't

hate each other, just petty differences."

"Okay. What about your brothers?" Curt was more concerned about

them, not her parents.

"Well, Adam is the oldest. He's a mechanic and he is and ex-army

officer.

"Shit." "Okay."

"Then we have Clint. He's a stunt double and also knows martial arts.

He wanted to get into the Navy but they wouldn't let him cause he

slightly blind in his left eye. Scene accident. Got hit with a sword in

the face and damaged his retina.

"Double shit." "Wow that really sucks."

"Yeah, but by the way he moves you couldn't tell he had anything

wrong with him."

Curt began to sweat a little.

"The last is Malcom. He's a Marine."

Curt's ears dropped. "I'm a dead man." He gulped

Linda caught Curt's nervousness. "Their harmless. Nothing to worry

about."

That wasn't enough to erase the images out of his head of the three

of them kicking the shit out of him for hurting Linda. They continued

to eat their dinner and talked about their childhood and schools they

went to. Linda had drank about 3-4 glasses of wine before she cut

herself off.

"So you got any plans for tomorrow?" Asked Linda as she eat her last bite of

chicken.

"No not really. You done?" He grabbed for her plate.

"Well sounds like fun." She said has she handed her plate and glass to

Curt.

Curt walked to the kitchen. "I pretty much live life day by day. I don't really

plan ahead unless I need to." He put the plates and glasses in

the sink and walked back to the cough before he ended his sentence.

"Oh. Well, I guess that's cool."

"I guess."

"So...what's for desert?" She smiled

"Well I don't really have anything here," Curt looked away towards his door,

"but if you want" he turned back and Linda was right there in

his face. She kissed him hard.

Curt closed his eyes. He enjoyed their embrace, until he opened his

eyes. With Linda's eyes closed all he could see was, her white fur,

her gentle. All he could see was Her. The memories came flooding

back to him. He politely pushed Linda off of him.

"Linda...Linda what are you doing?"

"I'm sorry...was I moving to fast for you?" There was a tone of caring in her voice.

She could tell there was something wrong.

"I...you see...I'm just...I'm not ready to start a relationship right now."

"Oh...okay. I understand. I think I should leave now."

Curt gently shook his head.

"I'll see you later Curtus."

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

Linda walked out of the apartment, down the hall, and into the

elevator. Curt closed his door and slid down it and sat on the floor.

He cried a little. "You're never going to be able to get on with your

life if you don't let go." "Shut up you." He yelled at himself

Linda opened the door to her apartment. She through her keys and

purse on the kitchen counter and went to go take a shower. In the

shower Linda began to softly sing to herself.

From the floor Curt could hear a faint singing emanating from the

direction of his bathroom. When he got to the bathroom he realized

that the singing came from under him, in Linda's apartment.

He listened silently peacefully as he crawled into bed. Curtus could remember

that She didn't sing nor liked to. Linda's soft, gentle

voice carried him off to sleep.

The next morning Linda woke up with thoughts of last night dancing

in her head. "Was I moving to fast for him? There is something wrong

with him. I know he's not gay...is he?" She shook the thought from

her head. "No that's just silly." She thought about going to Curt's apartment

but opted that he may need some more time to think, to

be alone.

In Curt's apartment he got himself ready for the day. He hoped

anything would happen, that someone would call him so that he could

get his mind off of Linda, but no one did. He played games for hours, thinking

that every creek in the floor boards was a sound coming from Linda's apartment.

When he finally got bored of videogame he then

pulled out his exercise machine and began to workout.

Linda felt it was time now to go see Curt, hell it was 7:00 at night.

She grabbed her keys and headed out the door. When she reached

the door she paused for a second. "Maybe he's not home. Well, he

did say he had nothing going on." "Argh just knock on the fucking

door already'. She did so.

Curt's ears perked up when he heard the knocking. "Just a second."

He called out. He sat up for the machine and walked towards the

door, patting the sweat off of his fur. He began to open the door.

As the door opened Linda began to speak looking down towards the ground,

playing with her hands. "Listen Curt I just came to apolo..."

she then looked up and saw Curt shirtless. His body glistened as the

sweat on his fur reflected the light. Linda's nose took in the musky, sweaty,

testosterone scent emanating off of him. She fought to

control herself. "gize...for...for yesterday."

"It's okay. Please come in."

As Linda walked in, the smell of musk was over powering.

"Tha...thank you."

"Are you thirsty? I can go get you something."

"Water will be fine." Linda jumped at the offer.

"Okay." Curt walked off to his bedroom to grab a shirt then to the

kitchen to grab Linda her water and himself a Gatorade.

Linda walked around Curt's apartment taking in his scent with every

step, until her eyes fell upon Curt's art work. She opened a booklet

that laid on one of the tables. It was full of artwork of just one girl.

The girl in the pictures looked exactly like Linda.

"Wow, obsessive much?" She then called out to Curt.

"Nice artwork of me."

"What was that." Curt replied.

"I said nice artwork of me."

Linda was responded with the sound of shattering glass coming from

the kitchen.

"Curt are you alright?" She walked towards the kitchen to inspect

when she was stopped my Curt who was standing in the doorway.

He forcefully placed the water in her hands. Curtus looked angry and

Linda could smell it. He nudged her out of the way as he went to

collect his work

"Who told you, you could look at my stuff?"

"I just"

Curt cut her off. "Is that what you do? Come into peoples lives,

love 'em and leave 'em?"

Linda's ears and tail fell in horror at the statement.

Curt didn't even see Linda as he was yelling, he only saw Her.

"What do you want, huh? Why are you here?"

"Curt I'm...I'm sorry if I offended you somehow...I didn't mean" She

was cut off again.

"You got what you came for now just leave." When Curt spoke he

never once looked at Linda, just out towards the living room.

"Curt...what's wrong?"

"JUST GO!"

With a firm tone of voice and determination filling her body she

spoke.

"No."

Curt snapped out of in and looked to Linda confused. He cocked his

head to the side then realized he was talking to Linda and not Her.

He's ears laid back and his eyes closed in both embarrassment and

sorrow. He was pissed at himself for yelling at Linda, a girl he'd only

met a week ago.

"Linda...I think it's best if you leave." There was pleading in his voice.

"I'm not leaving you Curt. Not like this."

Curt slowly opened his eyes and stared into Linda's bright green ones.

"She doesn't even know me. Why does she care?" Curt sighed and

walked to the couch. Linda followed suit and sat next to him.

"Curt tell me what's wrong."

Curt closed his eyes again and looked away from Linda. 'If you don't

open up you dipshit you're going to end up alone...again!"

Curt growled at himself.

"Curt?" Linda picked up his hand and began to rub it gently.

He sighed.

"It was about 2 years ago when I felt like I could die. Like someone

had reached into my chest and ripped out my heart. Her...her name

was Tru, and unlike her name she was never true to her words."

Linda kept quite and listened.

"I met her at a coffee shop after she spilled my entire mocha over

my new pants I had bought that day. She was very apologetic,

which didn't last very long. We got to talking. She like the arts and I

like music and the arts. I had more in common with her then she had

with me. To this day I can't remember what I saw in her. I guess it

could have been I was 24 at the time. Fresh out of college. Young. Stupid."

Curt looked to Linda and smiled a little. She returned it. Curt again looked away

and continued, almost seeing it

play out before him.

"As the months went on the love went with it. I still loved her,

almost brainwashed into thinking it, but she never returned it.

The sex was more one sided then anything. She had me push her to

her orgasm until I was allowed 'inside' her. She always got hers,

I never got mine. She used to hit me for no reason. She demanded

that I leave my old friends and never speak to them again. Given

enough time she probably would have told me to never talk to my

parents. I obeyed her like a doglike a fucking dog on a goddamn

leash." Curt clinched his fists. Linda continued to pet his hand.

"This went on for a year. I put up with it for so long. I didn't know

any better." He shook his head, disgusted with himself.

"Then one day it all ended. I woke up and she was gone. She left a

note on the nightstand. In it she wrote that she couldn't take me anymore.

She said I was too needy and asked for too much. That I

never loved her like a man should love their women." Curt started to

dig his claws into the couch. Linda stopped him.

"I hated her for it. I told myself that if I'd ever see her again that I'd

kill her where she stood. I found out a few days after she left me

that she was using me for some project. A fucking psychology

project so she could get her masters. I wanted her dead. Months

passed and that's when you walked into the bar and I thought

'Here's my chance to get back at her'. Then you walked up to the

private section and my heart race. I was ready to strike at anytime.

Then I saw your eyes. Tru's eyes weren't a beautiful as yours are.

That's why I said want I did to you, and why I pushed you away

lasted night." Curt started to cry. "You remind me of her so much,

but your eyes, your voice, your touch. You're so different from her

and I see that now...I just...I don't think...I'm...I'm not ready.

God you look so much like her." He was sobbing.

Linda felt sorry for Curtus. He looked like a helpless puppy. Curt was

still looking away from Linda as she climbed onto his lap and faced

him. She gentle kissed him on the cheek. Curt turned to look at Linda

and was surprised to see she was on top of him. He went to speak

when Linda put a finger to his mouth and shushed him.

"I'm not Tru, Curtus" She then kissed him on the lips. Curt's hands

were down at his sides, unsure as what to do. She picked up his

hands and placed them on her thighs. Linda began to unbutton Curt's

shirt, hers was already undone at this point. Linda drew one of her

claws down Curt's bare chest sending shivers that rang all the way

to his tail. Linda then pulled off hers and Curt's shirt as she continued

to kiss him. Curt squeezed Linda's thigh as his hands traveled their

way to Linda's bra. Linda then stopped him and Curt looked at her.

"What...did I do something wrong?"

Linda smiled. "Lay back. It's your turn to be served."

Curt's ears perked up as Linda once again kissed him on the lips.

She then moved her way down to his neck and nibbled a little.

Curt let out a small wine of pleasure.

Linda continued to move her way down Curt's chest, softly kissing

him and talking in he's scent. She could smell she

had turned him on. One of her hands grabbed his inner thigh and

squeezed. This cause Curt to clamp down on his teeth in pleasure.

He growled a little. Linda fell the bugle forming in Curt's pants.

She went to undo his pants when Curt stopped her.

"What?" Linda spoke

"Not here. Not like this."

"Oh...okay" Linda was hurt by his statement and got up to get

dressed and leave. Curt got up with her. He then grabbed her by the

waist and pulled her into him. Curt kissed Linda hard as she backed

herself into a wall. They continued to kiss as Linda raised one of her

legs and wrapped in around Curt. Curt grabbed her by her buttock

and lifted her slightly. Still kissing, Linda wrapped her other leg

around Curt now holding herself up on him. Curt ripped off her bra

and began to softly kiss her breasts. Linda moaned in both

excitement and pleasure.

Curt continued to kiss Linda's breasts as he picked her up and carried

her off to his bedroom.

The next morning Linda woke up to one of the best nights she's ever

had. Curt had treated her well last night, causing her to cum twice

before he had. She was beginning to think that Tru hadn't damaged

him sexually, but instead improved him.

She got out of bed and wrapped a robe around herself that

Curtus obviously laid out for her. She walked out of the bedroom

and into the kitchen where Curt was and wrapped her arms around

him. She murred a little as she could still smell the scent of sex on

him. "Morning hun." Curt spoke as he turned around and kissed her.

"Mmmmmmoring sweetie." She got out as she ended her kiss

with him.

"I made you breakfast. Didn't know what you liked so I cooked you a

little of everything."

"I see." She kissed him again. "I could go for some bacon and eggs."

"Aww I though you were going to say you wanted a little

more of me." Curt said playfully as he handed Linda a plate of food.

Linda rolled her eyes.

"Yeah I know. Cheesy."

"Very."

He laughed. "Well if you'll excuse me I need to go take a shower.

I got a performance tonight." He kissed her.

"Okay. Don't be to long you hear?"

"I'll try." He then walked to the bathroom.

Linda again walked around Curt's apartment, eating her food.

Her eyes then fell on Curt's artwork which was lying on his desk.

She examined the artwork of Tru.

She did look a lot like her, but the pictures were different now.

All the eyes were green.

Just like Linda's.

She was touched this silent display of Curt's love and affection.

She now knew she was truly in love with Curt, madly in love.

She placed her unfinished breakfast down on the counter and headed

for the bathroom. She quietly opened the door and stepped in.

She slid off her robe and let it fall to the floor as she climbed into

the shower with Curt.
