#1 of The Phoenix

I watched Zootopia the other day so... yes, I loved the howling part :3 Anyways, I'm debating whether I should keep it clean or go down the deep and dark path... er... anyways, I'll hopefully be posting the next chapter soon while I still have inspiration :3

"Listen, I understand quite well that ninety percent of Zootopia's population is Prey. I also understand that they are very timid around the predators. As acting Mayor of this wonderful city, I want these tensions to be resolved. Yes, I understand that my assistant... former assistant, went mad and was trying to do whatever it was she was doing, but I assure you, these tensions that she brought forth, we will face them head on and heal them, once and for all."

"Do you believe anything he says," asks a grey wolf as his focus was directed outside of the car, watching as they drove past the civilians. Things were still kind of tense between the predators and the prey, what with the whole 'Oh, they might actually go savage and eat us' nonsense.

"Hopefully what he says is true, Ranger," responded the coyote, slowly turning the wheel to the right, the car turning along with the wheel. "I mean, if not, what are we gonna do about it?"

In response, Ranger would pull out a stun gun before, with a smile, he says, "We have stun guns."

"Aye, we have stun guns."

As the vehicle drove past, a certain fox was watching, drinking some coffee. "Hmm, what do we got here," he would mutter under his breath, watching the car closely. On the door, it had some sort of bird that had flames around it, probably a phoenix, which was holding a shield. In the shield, the words 'Phoenix Security' could be seen in white lettering.

As the car drove on by, he looked at the license plate, which read 'PHNX001'. "Hmm, interesting... perhaps Carrot would be interested in this." After finishing his drink, he would turn and walk away, tossing the paper cup in one of the garbage cans.

"Why are we even listening to this anyways," asks Ranger as he returns his focus to the coyote. "Seriously, this is just the mayor-"

"Quiet, he's making mention of us."

"To reduce the tension within our lovely city, I have requested the aid of a certain security firm that many of you have beared witnessed. The black, white, or silver cars and trucks, the tinted windows, the Phoenix Security firm have been allowed to help out where our police force cannot."

"That's it? Just a 'Oh, they help out' mumble jumbo? Wow, I feel insulted."

"Ranger, stop it, we are returning to headquarters now. You can complain later."

"Unless Gary starts a howl..."

The coyote simply sighed before he says, "Yeah, unless Gary starts a howl. Now quiet down so the last part of the drive can be a peaceful one..."

"I miss Gary... and Larry..."

"Would you stop? Geez, go to sleep."

All the sudden, the two of them would hear a howl, a rather far off howl. Ranger would suddenly tilt his head back and howl, to which the coyote would suddenly stare before he too broke out into a howl.

After five minutes of howling, the coyote and the wolf would soon regain their composure before the coyote says, "Don't tell anyone about this. Got it?"

"Aye sir."

The two would then make a right hand turn before disappearing from view.

Meanwhile, Nick was leaning against a building, eating a pawpsicle. Sunglasses down over his eyes as he licked and chewed on the treat, he waited for Judy to finish doing whatever it was that she was doing.

"C'mon carrot, hurry it up in there."

And right on cue, the bunny officer would emerge from the building, smiling and proud, before she turned to see Nick. "Nick? What are you doing here?"

"Just thought I'd let you know that those Phoenix boys have been... well... encroaching on your turf, carrot."

"Encroaching? Lionheart brought them here to help out with the situation, what with some of the prey animals getting violent towards predators."

"Oh I know, just thought I'd also let you know that they have a moose in the back of their car. Stun guns can be a real pain at times."

Judy's ears perked up and, getting closer to Nick, she would say, "But they aren't here to arrest anyone... they just subdue them and the police will handle it..."

"Well, it would seem that some of those security boys didn't get the memo."

Judy would turn away from Nick before she said, "We have to let Bogo know about this."

"They are not here to hurt anyone, they are simply here to resolve the turmoil that has emerged due to our previous mayor. That's all that the Phoenix Security men and women are doing, simply resolving old tensions between us."

At the abandoned Cliffside Mental Hospital, Ranger, Gary, Larry, and another wolf are sitting around a table, playing poker. They held their cards close to their muzzles, their eyes looking at their cards before looking at each other.

"I see your bet and raise you a bone," Ranger would say, moving a bone to the middle. "I see your bet," the others would respond, moving their own bones towards the middle.

That's when Ranger would set his cards down, having two twos and two fours. "Alrighty boys, your turn."

Gary would drop his first, having three fives and two queens. A full house. Larry would soon drop, only having two threes. The last wolf would soon drop, having three aces.

The three would turn to Gary before Ranger would say, "Alright, you win. What do you want us to do?"

Gary would think about it for a moment before he says, "You three on guard duty tonight."

"We did guard duty yesterday after you won the first time. Choose something else?"

Gary would nod and, a paw to his jaw, he would think before he suddenly got a wonderful idea. "Ooh! I know! You three can-"

"We dove headfirst into the pool in just our underwear the day before that," Larry would reply, shivering a bit.

So Gary would sigh before he asks, "What about-"

"We did it in the nude as well," responded the wolf, reading something from his notepad.

"Oh... well... I got nothing then..."

The four would sit there for a bit before Ranger says, "Heard the mayor talking about us on the radio."

"Oh yeah? And," Gary would ask, getting excited.

"He said we are a valuable asset."

"What else?"

"That's about it."

Larry would growl, his fist slamming into the table. "We help out with the aggressive prey, getting injured and beaten and the only thing he can say is that we are a valuable asset?!"

"Well... he did give us permission to arrest aggressive prey...," responded the fourth wolf, flipping through the pages of his notepad.

"Doesn't mean he can't talk about us some more... or at least say that we are putting ourselves at risk..."

Ranger would look at his cards before he asks, "Gary, how do you always win?"

"I don't know, I just get the right cards... winning is the worst thing ever if you can't figure out what to tell the people who lose what to do..."

With a slow nod, he would say, "Well...I'm sure you will think of something..."

The four just sat there before Gary perks up and, with a smile, he says, "I think I know what-"

"We did that on Monday and yes, some of us are still slightly sore from that," to which he would shift about slightly on his chair, causing the fourth wolf to laugh.

"Well crud..."
