Chapter One: Rifts Inside Us, Part One

"So let me tell you my day was going fine, in fact it was going pretty well but we'll need a flashback to convey that kind of information."

Yelling from within his cell, Matthew was having a bit of a what he would call a sucky day. Perhaps it started in the beginning when he was born, an heir to the throne and one day he would sit down on the throne of Terra Nova. Of course, some people disagreed with that sediment and took exception. In fact that happened this morning.

Maybe his sucky day started when his father died; six months ago. His father, the wonderful, gracious, bountiful Piecewise the XXV was killed in battle, fighting for his country and Matthew being the first born son of the King and thus the only heir to his throne, took up the Mantle as King Matthew Piecewise the XXVI, and for him twenty six seemed to be his unlucky number. Twenty-six days after his father died and his own inauguration, the armed forces of the United South Collation had broken through the South Wall and had started their war path.

For the next five months, a war of attrition had begun; both sides threw everything at each other to see what would stick or in this case, explode their opponents into millions of little meat chunks. And then twenty-six days before his own capture, their sister planet, The Empire of Terraona Prime had decided to contribute their own forces to the battle, with the USC.

From them the entire planet was conquered and the castle of Terra Nova was the only thing standing. Boarding themselves up and keeping the capital protected they fought what would be called a valiant fight for the twenty-five days until the day he let his father down. On that day, the forces of the USC had seemed particularly destructive.

Everything stuck to them that day, even after five straight days of equal fighting against the empire. Perhaps their empire had lasted too long and it was finally time for the Terra Nova empire to fall and for Terraona Alpha to be conquered and the planet joined as one. It was a deadly and bitter war and he could only have hopped he would have the same honor as his father.

...

"My Liege, we have a problem the forces have broken through the capital wall!" A royal scout said as he bursted into the room and quickly landed on one knee; his right arm to his chest. However, he found the king was not in the war room instead him and his advisors had gathered out in the balcony. The royal scout knew what was meant, grabbing tradition sword of the wall he turned back and vowed to protect the king.

"I am sorry; I wish I could have only been more like my father." King Matthew said as he looked over the balcony and towards the entrance of Terra Nova. At the height of the city, he could see the war path of USC. A massive scar was formed in the land, the sand turned black due to ashes of burnt cities and a single path of soldiers were all walking forward.

An orange glow was set on his body as he looked below, the gates had been pried open and the army of Terraona Prime was leading them. Primetroopers; dressed in black and red armor and carrying weapons more advanced than they could have imagined. Behind the troopers were more primitive soldiers, carrying sticks of fire and looting bags.

The wooden shacks of the capital were set ablaze as they walked forward, grabbing metallic goods and setting fire to all that wasn't valuable. Matthew leaned against the wooden balcony; he hoped that his citizen's pain would be quick and painless. Yet, he had heard from the other cities, he could only hope that the burning shakes produced a lot of smoke.

"Do not worry King, you are only sixteen; you have done everything we expected that would be with in your power." One of his head advisors said; this only lowered his head further and could only wonder how those opinions made him feel. On one hand he did everything with him his powers but on the other hand it made it sound like from the beginning he was set up to be failed.

"Well then men, looks like they are coming this way; I can only hope that our deaths are painful and well worth the shit we did." Matthew said as he turned and looked at them, perhaps he should have placed blockades on the way to castle but maybe he put a little too much trust in his gates. As the soldiers marched up, there were the sounds of trumpets bursting out in notes. Matthew groaned knowing what that meant.

Behind the Primetroopers, a large caravan of jesters and clowns and royal like citizens followed and behind them all was a single man; Asher Washington, the asshole in a tight suit. The Primetroopers seemed to stop at the front door and parted like the red sea.

Asher and his royal guard followed behind him. And then there were the sounds of his castle doors bursting open. Matthew heard the sound of the last of his guards rushing out, and then screaming out as they were exterminated. He looked at his royal guard and they placed their weapons on the table, there was no point in fighting.

Matthew stood still at the exit to his balcony, at most if he was being taken prisoner he would take the last way out, he figured there was enough height to effectively complete his final goal. Under him he heard the sound of rustling and then on final guard charging forward. Matthew cringed as he heard the sound of the guard screaming out.

Asher knocked the door open and two guards to his side, a shark with strange ears and a dragon with a strange komodo like ears. The dragon had grabbed the last guard, his royal scout and turned his sword around easily; stabbing him. The two guards were at least seven feet taller, this worked to his advantage as he held the scout in the air, on the sword.

"IG-205; BL - 102; follow procedures and make sure no one and I mean no one interrupts us." Asher said as the two nameless guards walked to separate sides of the table and stood in the middle, placing their hands out; a glow being emitted as they did something. Matthew didn't understand his own powers yet alone their powers. "Now then I hope you enjoy prison food."

And that was the word Matthew and his royal advisors needed. Turning around quickly, they all charged for the balcony and started to jump. Of course if they were successful, how would Matthew be able to tell his story? No, when Matthew jumped a barrier of magic blocked him, the same one that the two guards had formed only seconds before. Landing against the ground, he was knocked out adding only more shame to his capture.

...

"Yeah, really I don't care." The guard said sarcastically as he snickered at Matthew's story. He gasped and turned to his left, and then a blue beam shot through his chest. Matthew walked up to the wall, seeing the guard fall to the ground. To his right, a shark appeared; the same royal guard that was with President Asher; BL-102, if he remembered right.

"Stand back." The shark said as he signaled to Matthew. The king did as the shark said, quickly realizing that the guard was doing something that would probably help him and maybe earn back his honor. The shark slashed upon the cell, as his hands glowed. The metal door was knocked into pieces and fell over the cell. Matthew looked forward and at his savior.

"Your king, I believe you should come with me." The shark said as he fell to his knee and bowed in the same way as his people. Matthew knew he could trust this shark and walked forward. Walking out of the cell he saw a bit of a problem in the distance. A large window, and below it the cold empty airless vacuum of space, and outside the window his planet.

"We're in space." Matthew said as he looked out into the window and into he could see the burnt path from the wall and to his capital. Smoke was rising out of the capital as he saw the effects from a bigger perspective. The planet turned underneath them and clouds covered his capital.

He turned at the shark and saw him in his armor. A black and purple set of armor and on his back a strange sword. The shark looked at him, Matthew's red armor was dusty and his hair had seemingly parted around the crown. It looked strange without the golden head topper.

"Come on don't hold up; they're going to be coming for us any second now." The shark said pulling him out of his space daze as his elbow was grabbed and he was pulled through the hallway. As Matthew was pulled through the hallway; he started to think of the ideas. He could save himself and maybe his empire and his honor. Matthew smiled and suddenly he came to a stop.

Looking forward there was a group of soldiers in front of them. Matthew couldn't believe how stupid he was letting himself get right in front of the enemy. The shark smiled and seemed to have a plan; he walked forward and simply presented himself to the enemy.

"Hello Primetroopers, surprised to see me with the king; shame I'm leaving." The shark said as his hands flashed blue for as second. The soldiers got the message and raised their weapons. In a second they started to fire; Matthew nearly jumped out of the way but then the bullets stopped in midair; floating and holding themselves in front of the shark.

The shark smiled and simply stood still; releasing the grip from his hands the bullets fell to the group and tinged against the ground. Smiling, the nameless shark put his hands forward and instantly a sphere of blue energy formed. It radiated pureness and the soldiers started to run as the sphere was fired at them.

The soldiers barely made it to the end of the hallway, before the sphere caught up to them and exploded. It warped the edges of the wall, seemingly being of a high temperature. The soldiers were burnt and charred; they were dead and no longer a threat.

"Come on don't worry." The shark said excited as he walked forward and past the soldiers. And then the alarms blared; red lights surrounded them as to let the soldiers know to get ready for battle. The shark pulled him forward and then they arrived in a bay. Matthew could see out into space again and he didn't feel the shark pulling him or the sounds of the guards behind him shooting at him; everything was so nice and pristine.

"King, come with me!" The shark said as he pulled Matthew; the wolf was nearly pulled to the floor as soldiers yelled at him to stop and for a second he thought about doing that; dropping everything and trying again; but he decided it be more fun to go with the shark. The shark pulled them into what Matthew could assume was only a spaceship.

"There is a spaceship on a spaceship; why would you ever need two or more of them?" Matthew asked as he was pushed down into a seat; he quickly picked up on what the shark was doing and grabbed the belt nearest to him and pulled it over his body. The shark went into the front compartment and suddenly the ramp leading up to them closed and then sealed itself.

"Well you know, let's get out of here!" The shark said as a HUD appeared on the windshield and he turned a few knobs above him. The shark pushed a button on then console and suddenly a layer of blueness appeared around them; a shield had appeared. "Hold on; we're going on a ride!"

The shark threw his hands on the control system, it seemed to be a manifold and the shark simply folded it forward. To his side, two large blue flames appeared beyond the window. The exit ramp started to become dented as the soldiers started to fire upon it; but even as the rockets started the fire they stood still on the launch pad.

"Uh, you seem to have a problem here, you're rockets are still attached to the bigger ship." Matthew said struggling to describe what he saw outside the window. Walking forward into the main cabin he instead sat down into second seat and looked around at the control scheme.

"What do you mean, I think they have us in a tractor beam; we just need to speed it out!" The shark said as he pushed the manifold further towards the ground. The ship rumbled around them and so did a creaking metal. Matthew looked out at the window and saw the connecting piece; he didn't know what it was called but he tried to think back to his learning days.

"Wait, when we had fireworks they were connected to a string and until we cut the string; they only tried to escape just like outside!" Matthew said as he was finally able to come up with a metaphor. The shark turned his head and looked out of the window and groaned as he saw the connecting piece.

"God ZO-302; always said I forgot to release the ship." The shark said as he reached over to the control panel and flipped a switch. Looking to the side, Matthew saw as beam disconnected with a blast of steam and folded up. They started to float and they blasted out of the ship and into the void of space.

"Hold on; high gee-force maneuver!" The shark said as he turned the manifold and suddenly they did a twist. Their tiny orbital pod blasted and they suddenly rotated. Travelling downwards they quickly flew under the ship, or more so the ship travelled over them as they sped up.

"What are you doing, go back after the ship we can sink it before we land." Matthew said as he stood up and looked back on the ship as it continued its orbit but they started on a suborbital path. Within a second as they deaccelerated the ship rumbled, and they re-entered the atmosphere.

"You don't know how space works do you, we need to get as far away from that ship and the only quick way out is back onto your planet; if we can go fast enough we can lost their tracking beacon in re-entry." The shark said as he turned the ship around and flipped a few switches that stopped the rumbling.

"Try to get us closer to the capital! Come on we can raise a stand against Asher, the closer to my capital the better off we can be." King Matthew said as he tried to convince the shark that his plan was better. The ship started to shake and a layer of red flash over for a second. The shark groaned and pulled the ship up.

"We're already in re-entry we can't turn back now; your capital has fallen we can't raid it for now." The shark said as he adjusted the ship and flipped a switch. And then the ship shook, the engine on the side blew out and then the shield fell. The windshield was engulfed in fire and they started to be knocked around.

"No! Hang on King, we're going to have a rough landing." The shark said as he looked over and felt the ship shake and rumble as he lost power and control. They started to twist and turn in the atmosphere as air molecules bounced off their heat shield and warmed them up. The entire spacecraft was engulfed in a bursting mix of fire and plasma as they compressed air beneath them.

The ship tumbled out of control as the shark with no name tried to keep control of the ship; putting both hands on the manifold he pulled it up in a last ditch effort to gain control but as he did; the ship knocked forward. Both of their heads were knocked against the dash board and they were knocked out.

Matthew woke up; looking forward he saw sand against the cracked window. He stood up and walked out of his seat; he regretted not putting the second seat belt on. Walking out into the passenger section, he saw the cracked window had let sand into cabin. Walking to the door, he tried to push it down but found it was stuck.

There looked to be a control panel; even the king of a kingdom stuck in a medieval age could figure that it controlled the door. Pushing a button the ramp pushed down, sand following around the door as it opened. The familiar red sun glared down on him as he stepped out and into the desert of Terraona Alpha.

Shielding his eyes as he stepped out into the bright sun; he looked at the hot sand around him; some of it turned to glass as they landed and smoke was coming out of the engine. That was like throwing up a flair to the soldiers of Terraona Prime and he knew they couldn't have that. Even if so, they might have at least an hour until they could attack again.

He grabbed some sand and placed it over the engine; the smoke stopped and hopefully they couldn't be tracked. Looking into the windshield he knocked and the shark with no name woke up and looked forward. Waiting for the shark to exit the pod; he looked up and around their seemed to be a village nearby.

"We should probably get away from here, I think there's a town nearby maybe five or six miles away; we can probably get out of vision sight before they can send any more soldiers down." The shark said breathing heavily as he reacted to the sun. His armor reacted and suddenly two blue wings spread out behind him; that explained at least the horns on the shark's head. The shark smiled and wrapped the wings around his head forming a hood.

"You need a name, sharky boy." Matthew said as he walked forward and looked at the shark's designation. BL-102; he smiled as he thought to watch that could mean. How they could possibly choose which name to give him; he thought back to his young days learning from a friar in the gardens about nature and how it can always surprise you at the last moment.

"Must we do this, this doesn't seem imperative to your protection." The shark said as he groaned; attempting to get them back on track and away before soldiers could have teleported or get flown down to their crash sight. Blushing as he saw Matthew rub, his designation panel; he tried to hide his embarrassment.

"Must be new to you; don't seem like the king to get out much; this much be your first social interaction in years; well then we are going to have fun, Basil. Matthew and Basil will raise the Terra Nova empire again." Matthew said looking up at the shark, smiling as the shark's wings seemingly eclipsed the sun behind them. The shark rolled his eyes at his first real name, and instead picked Matthew up and even as the wolf struggled; easily pulled him along.

"Come on, let's get you out of the sun my king." Basil said continuing forward; something changed in his mind that day, his mental processes were reworked. He thought back to what pushed him to breaking away from his entire life. It was possible that something snapped in his head that day; it was completely possible a mad man was rescuing the king.

"Couldn't they have simply flown down or maybe teleported down; we weren't exactly hiding ourselves." Matthew asked as they walked forward through the desert; the sand shifting underneath their feet and the sun beating over their head. Matthew knew this planet but the sand didn't seem right, the sand seemed more course; less like the sand he knew of near the capital.

"No, I used a temporary invisibility cloak spell on the pod, they only managed to hit us based on luck and stupidity; afterwards they would have needed to know our speed in order to calculate our trajectory and know the atmospheric conditions as well as the changed aerodynamics of our hit craft in order to track us." Basil said quickly listing off sets of conditions as if he had memorized them and knew them by heart. Matthew gave him a confused look as he turned his head and tried to understand what he was saying.

"They would need to know a lot of information that they couldn't possibly have gathered; we should be safe. They'll have a general area where we landed but we might be able to escape before they even land." Basil said repeating that simple idea that they needed to move before they could land. Reaching the top of a sand dune they looked down.

"Do you have any idea where on the planet we landed, somewhere near the equator; but on which side of the great wall?" Matthew said as he looked forward; past the town there was a large brown wall. It stretched for what he knew as five hundred feet tall and protected by an even taller forcefield.

They could be in Terra Nova or in the USC, one of which was safer and they might have been able to find sanctuary with citizens that were still loyal to the crown; and in they were in the USC, they would have been found as traitors and instantly hung as soon as they walked in.

"Good question, and another is weather we shall take the risk and go into that town; there is the chance that it is of either side and depending on that answer; well we are either dead or alive in the end." Basil said as he tried to work out on which side of the wall they were on. He started to sweat as he realized that he didn't know the answer to.

"Good question; well then Basil we should do our best; they've probably seen us by now; no need to delay the inevitable." Matthew said as he stepped forward and seeming decided to sacrifice himself; however it was then when Basil realized that the king had forgotten what clothes he was wearing. Basil quickly grabbed some sand and started to rub it into the royal symbols.

"Hey what are you doing, those are worth all of money!" Matthew asked as he turned his head and saw Basil rubbing and covering his royal symbols. Rising his finger, Basil said nothing as he fired a beam and the armor became scratched and burnt; it started to deform and it was unrecognizable. Seeing his armor go beyond unrecognizability, he realized Basil was hiding himself.

"I know your king, but this armor is one of a kind and we cannot risk you being discovered; and with this hood we might be able to hide you, so long as you and this is a big part, don't speak a word." Basil said knowing he was asking a lot out of the king but with careful manipulation and not trying to be obvious they might, just very carefully be able to escape from the town; if it was a USC town they would have the easy route if it was a Terra Novian Town.

"I will do my best, they once said that if I won the war; I would have been remembered as the King Who Talked Down to the USC." Matthew said ready to go into a long winded speech about how he wished to be remembered by history and how he wanted to be seen in the future; by his people. "Good point."

"Good, keep quite. Let me do the talking, don't even comment I can say everything you can say with the same precision and fanciness that you can speak; we were given a training in such." Basil said as he walked forward. "No you were."

"No, well we have the knowledge, we can both use it." Basil said seemingly his mind split as he walked forward, his head shaking and a necklace on his armor glowing. Matthew tilted his head wondering what they could have possibly done in his training that made him so messed up. Matthew shook it up and walked forward, starting to slid down the sand dune.

"Wait up king." Basil said, as he realized that he too would have to be careful and not show respect to the king. Uncurling his wings as he reached the bottom and tucking them back into his armor; he realized that they were a bit bulky and he would probably ditch them in the town, they wouldn't be much use in the warm desert.

Walking the last stretch towards to the town, Basil remembered the lessons learned on the planet. Barely in the habitable zone of its own sun, instead of being cold and frigid; a large event triggered the release of methane from the ground and flooding the air; and holding the heat it now gained it turned in the still barely habitable world it was today.

And walking through the sand he then felt a shift in texture under his own feet; he was walking on a laid out brick. Looking up they had entered the town. Matthew stood behind him and close. Fear had overtaken his king and that was normal, he was possibly in a foreign and hostile land; with an equally unknown and strange shark as his protector. The sand blew through the air behind them, shaking the signs hung under the wooden awnings.

No one looked at them, only allowing the occasional side glance as they walked through the town. Matthew did his best to seem normal, but he felt that two armored people randomly walking into town would easily stick out like a sour thumb and he was right.

Basil suddenly took a turn and Matthew followed, stepping onto a raised porch and passing through swinging doors and into a parlor. And like that they disappeared into the building, none of the people in the town taking notice of them.

...

"You must go, hybrid. President Asher will be highly disappointed in the Hybridtrooper program if two of them were to have failed in one day." A dragon in similar armor to Basil's said as a third one in similar armor said as he bowed. "Now then surely a dragon like you with multiple wings can manage to fly down with an assist from a pod?"

"Of course my lord; BL-102 will fall." The dragon said standing up showing off his stranger body; with horns and greener scales as well as black spiked hair. "But first Grand Asher Drake; what shall I do if he doesn't have the king?"

"Ah yes, you shall burn the village and search for him; kill all the citizens and desecrate the town and make sure that no one survives; all that shall remain of the town will be sand." Grand Asher Drake said as he smiled looking down on his protégée. The hybridtrooper stood up and turned walking out of the bridge and presumably towards his drop pod.

"Tracking crew, be sure to make sure IG-205 doesn't deflect; get radial cameras down on the situation; be sure to record, there is plenty of footage to be filmed; be sure to have his pod's explosive armed just in case he isn't strong enough; god forbid we have to call ZO-302." Grand Asher Drake said turning his head over to the attendants near the front; the attendants typing down on the consoles in front of them.

Out the side of the ship; Grand Asher Drake turned his head in dull interest and looked as a second drop pod fired out of his ship.

"The pod is heading on a sub orbital course towards the border near the USC; should only be a half an hour behind the other group." One of the attendants said as from the console, an orbital path appearing on his screen as he turned towards Grand Asher Drake. The dragon smiled as he looked at the screen and traced the path down to the ground.

"Excellent, they shall be on the ground in only a few seconds." The Grand Asher said as he took a look at the projected the pathway of Basil and Matthew's projected orbital drop. Smiling, he could say that if he captured the king and made sure that he did not see the rise of the mother star again then he might get quite the promotion.

...

Basil walked out of the clothing parlor; wearing a modified of his previous armor; instead using his armor chainmail for his arms and with an armored vest for his body. Over that he placed a white shirt and a brown blazer; a pair of shorts covering his waist and a perception filter placed over his wings.

Matthew walked out in a simple pair of brown sack shirt and brown sack pants; the everyday look of a caravan trader; there would be no way that anyone would be able to tell who he was. And as Basil came out to see what was causing a commotion in the town.

A shockwave rolled over the town, sand flying into their faces as the air settled. At the dune they once stood on twenty or so minutes ago a second pod had crashed into the sand. The sun glared off the newly formed glass and as the pod opened and three Primetroopers stepped out. They pointed their guns on the city and the townsfolk started to scream and run for their houses.

"King you should probably stay behind." Basil said as he walked forward; spreading is hand and forcing it to glow as he summoned his will. The Primetroopers pointed at him and fired down on the city as they started to run down. Smiling Basil walked forward and walked to the edge of the town.

"Do not fire upon this town, it is under my protection!" Basil said as he formed a large ball of magic in his hand and threw it forward. Clashing into the sand the ball, blew sand onto the Primetroopers and held them back as he tried to prepare a legitimate plan. Turning back towards Matthew, the king could only roll his eyes and shrug his shoulders.

"Stand down and we will make your death easier!" One of the Primetroopers said as he raised his gun and out of the hilt lasers shot out. Basil ducked as one flew over his head and he walked shook his head. Spreading his wings and deactivating his perception filter.

The Primetroopers realized they might be in a bit more trouble than they reckoned. Flying up Basil put his hand forward and fired a barrage of energy beams; all striking around the Primetroopers he hoped that he could discourage them and avoid fighting. Flying forward to the land, he put his hands forward and hoped that the soldiers would walk away.

"Stand down or I will be forced to strike upon you." Basil said as the troopers stopped for a second and stopped their firing. Basil stood still surprised that his plan had worked, and then ducking as one poorly fired over his head. "Well, I warned you that I would attack, and my soul is now clear of any wrong doing."

Basil ran forward, jumping over the first laser shot and forming a shield of magic to protect himself. Grabbing the first Prime trooper he threw it against the ground and jumped up into the air. Before the other two could fire on him, he pointed his hand down towards the trapped Primetrooper, and fired.

The other two walked back as they saw the other Primetrooper shot in the chest and bled out into the sand. They took exception to this, looking back on the pod and when nothing happened they started to fire upon Basil. Basil flew up higher into the air and swirled around the swarm of gun fire.

Matthew hide behind the wooden post and watched as Basil fought the Primetroopers. He flew into the air and looked down on the sand; and then he flew at them. Firing a beam of will along the way, he slashed at it and it spit into multiple beams. The Primetroopers screamed as they were forced to split up.

Landing on the ground, Basil reached back and grabbed his sword; while it might have been comically oversized for Matthew to the large shark it was just the right size. He smiled and then the sword split up; the front edge seemingly detaching. A sword in its own right, Basil grabbed the once hidden handle and ran forward.

The Primetrooper grabbed his weapon and turned it on its side, pulling forward a bayonet to the barrel. It attached to his arm and he slashed; Basil slashed down on the tiny metal piece. And then Basil was interrupted as the other Primetrooper ran behind him with his bayonet.

Basil slashed out with other arm and held both bayonets and Primetroopers in place with his sword. Giving them some edge, he backed up and they slid along his blade right to nearly in front of him. Jumping up, he drop kicked the other trooper away and started to slash on the Primetrooper. Seeing an opportunity, he quickly knocked the trooper back.

Waiting no time he threw the secondary sword back up into the air and it reattached with the main blade; turning the blade on its slide; he firmly slashed down. The Primetrooper was knocked to the ground as he was sliced. Basil turned towards the other Primetrooper and put his sword back onto its sheath. The Primetrooper shook as he was approached by Basil.

Basil quickly ran forward, seemingly speeding through the same before the solider could react. Grabbing him, he threw the trooper in the air and keeping his finger aimed at him; fired a beam. The trooper was blasted into tiny smithereens that landed over the side of a building. He turned towards the pod, having a bit of an idea on who he would be meeting.

"Come on them, you don't have to wait that long." Basil said; Matthew walking out from behind the post and walking to the end of the town. He felt naked without his armor, and he didn't like how Basil was doing all the fighting. He was the king and he should have been leading the charge. So he walked to the end of the town, hoping he could at least get involved in something as he waited for the last to appear.

A dragon walked out of the pod, but he was different. His scales were green and red and his body seemed pudgier than Basil and other normal dragons. Two horns were on his body and he had a black and red Mohawk.

"Well shame, you made them even more of cannon fodder than they were before. So then only a half-hour defected from the ship and you're already calling yourself Basil. Well then to keep with this fun hokey do, you call me Ingram." Ingram raised his finger and swiped it; a wave of will blasted it out and Matthew hit the floor as the wave stuck the town. It was engulfed in fire as Ingram laughed out.
