AF Reference: CAPTURED

Reference Name: VS-SE Conflict Zone

Technology Level: Near-Future (22nd Century Level)

Dimension Synopsis: Point of contact designated NGP-1317, habitable planet, mostly ocean. 2 continents, larger continent inhabited. Until recently, inhabited continent engaged in state of total war, between forces designated as Verdant Shield and South-Eastern Alliance. Widespread devastation in most major cities. State of mutual cease-fire declared shortly after DTC contact, primarily due to near-complete exhaustion of military resources on both sides. Remaining populations significantly imperiled and in danger of extinction. Reports of extreme measures being undertaken to increase population numbers. DTC is cautiously observing situation and considering providing limited reconstruction and crisis assistance. Direct DTC contacts with this dimension have been minimal, and most information in this part was gathered by covert observation teams.

Relevant Species: Native Inhabitants (name currently unknown)

Classification: Bipedal humanoid, primarily feline characteristics, shorthair fur (various colors/patterns)

Number of Genders: 2 (male, female), technology exists for converting between genders (M->F)

Sexual Specifics

Male: Similar penile shape to reference species. Shaft length 5 to 7 inches, girth within standard range with little variation. Semi-flared coronal ridge. Ridge and top of shaft have several rows of curved spines that are normally held largely parallel to the shaft and have little to no effect during penetration. However, under certain conditions the spines can be made to flare out into a perpendicular configuration, to induce ovulation in a feline fashion (due to the curved nature of the spines, only the outward stroke is designed to induce ovulation, while allowing for an easy re-penetration afterwards).

Female: Mammary glands consist of several rows of small teats (referred to as "breastlets") along the chest and upper part of the abdomen, although the general rise is small enough that it can be concealed by fur - only the protruding nipples are typically visible above the furline. Genital presentation differs significantly from IAU standard, although it is still noticeably recognizable as female. Mons Pubis, labia majora and minora are technically present, but as minor features with narrow extension from the surrounding flesh. Genitals are bare flesh, oval in general shape, and directly concave, with all surfaces sloping downward towards the actual genital opening. Internal structures generally conform to standard layout, although vaginal walls have a specific outer layer that initially appears fragile and can be scratched/disturbed easily, but contains no significant structures aside from lubrication ducts that could be damaged by the spines, regenerates at a significantly accelerated rate. Also note the complete absence of specific clitoral tissue; rather, the inner walls provide the bulk of sexual sensitivity in general inverse to the male anatomy, with the most sensitive portion the segment of the vaginal wall in close proximity to the posterior fornix.

Mating and Reproduction: Mating generally occurs in the standard bipedal humanoid fashion, most often from a female-supine or rear-entry position, and usually consists of between 5 and 20 penile thrusts, followed by a climax and ejaculation by the male and usually climax by the female.

Females enter a state of estrus several times during the planetary year, and during this time, the male may additionally deploy the spines to induce ovulation. This usually occurs after 5 to 7 thrusts, followed by one or two further thrusts with the spines extended to induce ovulation, followed by immediate male ejaculation. During estrus, female climax usually coincides with ejaculation or follows shortly afterwards and is guaranteed to occur as a direct biological response to mitigate the pain produced by induction. Multiple matings during estrus are common. Simultaneous impregnation of multiple ova is also common during this time. Gestation is several months; as babies are not born with heads exceeding the general body diameter, births are generally considered to be comparatively easy, with litters ranging from 5 to 12.

Protocols: Courtship between these species is generally comparable to that in most modern societies. Relationships are generally serially monogamous but rarely permanent. Due to current dramatic shortage of females, sexual contact has now become heavily regulated.

One important difference in sexual courtship rituals is the fact that the females are biologically programmed to instinctively resist male attempts to complete the sexual act, including potentially injurious violence. It is important to differentiate this behavior from actual sexual assault, which would be resisted from the point of initiation; instead, this behavior is characterized by willing sexual escalation up until genital contact is imminent, followed by an immediate burst of aggression that the males are just as instinctually programmed to overcome. Shortly after penetration occurs, usually within one to three penile thrusts, the aggression fades and the female partner once again becomes a willing participant.

DTC Conduct: As there are no DTC personnel on the ground at this time, sexual contact is generally irrelevant. It is, however, theoretically possible for both male and female DTC personnel to interact sexually with this species under certain conditions. Although possible, contact with this species is not recommended at this time (see cautions below).

Warnings: Due to the aggressive nature of their mating rituals, engaging sexually with this species may be traumatic; for males, there is risk of injury from female resistance, and the force needed to overcome it may in itself be traumatic (in addition to appearing to violate the General Rule on specific consent), and for females, there is an extreme risk of denial or resistance during foreplay resulting in sexual assault to completion. Additionally, the deployment of a male's spines within female personnel, or any personnel engaging in anal sex, has the potential to result in extremely serious and potentially lethal internal injuries. Due to these factors, the DTC strongly recommends avoidance of all sexual contact with this species unless such conduct is specifically essential to the diplomatic mission. Bulletin 3049205 specifically proposes that all potential delegations to this dimensional destination contain sufficient personnel to handle all sexual needs in-house and eliminate the need for outside sexual contact.

Dimension 257-920-103

AF Reference: AN (OTHER) WORLD

Reference Name: Mephitis Mirror Universe

Technology Level: Modern (21st century level)

Synopsis: Classified as a closely-conforming "mirror universe" to the IAU reference universe, most specifics are identical to IAU standards as occurred during the reference year CE 2010. The primary difference is the accession of a separate species, first into a humanoid form and then into sentience. Contact with this universe is uncommon; however, due to its proximity unusual contacts have occasionally been reported, probably resulting from unspecified paranormal means.

Relevant Species: "People" (referred to similarly to primary IAU species amongst themselves)

Classification: Bipedal humanoid, however, primary features cross-pollinated from the species Mephitis Mephitis (striped skunk). Appearance is generally humanoid but with several conforming features: black shorthair fur (single contiguous stripe of white fur extending from upper back to tip of tail), lengthy and sizable tail covered in longhair fur, and some muzzle-like features evident in facial appearance.

Genders: 2 (male, female)

Sexual Specifics

Male: indistinguishable from IAU standard, fleshy shaft with coronal ridge, length and girth within DTC standard ranges

Female: indistinguishable from IAU standard, traditional female external and internal presentation. The only significant variation is that a higher proportion of females have some additional internal sensitivity, resulting in somewhat more common "vaginal" route to directed stimulation, although clitoral stimulation is still the primary method of progressing arousal to orgasm.

Mating and Reproduction: Rather than menstruation, females undergo monthly periods of estrus. Compared to most other species, this estrus is comparatively mild, and is characterized primarily by a moderate increase in libido and heightened desire for (and willingness to initiate) physical contact, both sexual and otherwise. Mating conforms nearly identically to the IAU standard, as do general family dynamics. Gestation periods are similar, as are birth patterns (usually single births, occasionally twins and rarely higher multiples).

Protocols: Nearly identical to IAU standards. Certain levels of promiscuity are condoned for females during estrus, although their mates usually make a special effort to be as constantly present as possible during this time. Incestuous contact between parents and children is restricted; however, unusually, such contact between siblings is not, aside from basic measures taken to prevent reproduction.

DTC Contact: As there is no direct way to access this dimension, apart from rare paranormal induction, it is unlikely that DTC personnel will have occasion to contact this species. However, in the rare case such contact occurs, it should function as normal, and there is nothing to preclude it.

Warnings: Members of this species do possess the anal glands of Mephitis Mephitis, and are capable of spraying a strongly odorous fluid containing high concentrations of mercaptans in self-defense. If exposed, immediately flush eyes, throat, and nasal passages; a solution of hydrogen peroxide, bicarbonate of soda, and glycerin-derived mild caustics is indicated to treat skin contact and secondary exposures.

AF Reference: SHIFTER

Reference Name: Post-Cataclysm Reconstruction

Technology Level: Near-Future (23rd century equivalent)

Synopsis: Main point of contact is standard habitable planet containing wide oceans and several continents, with one sentient species. Roughly 150 planetary years ago, planet underwent an unspecified calamity referred to as "The Cataclysm." While sparing most of the civilization's automated infrastructure, the event destroyed a significant portion of the population. Since then, the population has recovered somewhat, but is still within danger of further population decrease due to a population imbalance between males and females and an uneven fertility rate. The society appears to be recovering on its own, although there have been initial contacts with DTC diplomats in regards to providing limited fertility assistance.

Relevant Species: "People"

Classification: Bipedal humanoid, with generally canine features and characteristics, fairly standard variation in tail and fur patterns, general body shape and secondary sexual characteristics conform to IAU standards, with the exception of certain secondary sexual characteristics being absent in rare instances (see: shifters). One unique identifying feature is a small tuft of fur protruding from the canine exterior ear structure, present in males but not in females.

Genders: 2* (male, female, shifters)

Sexual Specifics

Male: Generally conforms to IAU standards in girth, although with the inclusion of all features is generally 1 to 2 inches longer. Penile shape is generally canine in profile, and emerges from a canine-type sheath. Penis includes a significant "knot" at the base which swells in size at full male arousal to several additional inches in circumference over the penile shaft. Males are capable of a higher volume of ejaculate than IAU standard, and generally ejaculate over a longer period. Rigidity of erection is reinforced by pubic bone, and pressure resultant from it during mating (in addition to the fully engorged knot being larger in diameter to the inner dimensions of the sheath) maintains the erection for a time equivalent to several IAU standard durations.

Female: Generally conforms to IAU standards in external features. However, opening and internal walls are somewhat modified, and become significantly more flexible and expandable during periods of estrus in order to accept the knot. Once the knot is inside, these features conform and slightly constrict around the knot, holding it in place once inserted and preventing it from withdrawing until it significantly deflates as the erection subsides. Specific pressure on clitoris and other structures all but ensures female climax once the knot is inserted. Females generally produce significantly more lubrication than IAU standard when aroused, especially during estrus, and a significant proportion of this lubrication may emerge to coat the external genitalia and surrounding areas.

Other: There is a subset of the population known as "shifters," who have an unusual ability to shift various aspects of their bodies between two or more states. The only known examples of this are standard shifters, who can transform between male and female external genitalia (although generally maintaining certain internal female structures, such as the uterus, regardless of external state). These shifters are generally fully functional in both roles, and both become inseminated and inseminate traditional females. It is unknown whether two shifters could impregnate one another, but seems possible.

Mating: Traditional mating, especially in estrus, conforms to a generally canine mating style, involving a period of vigorous, rapid thrusting, followed by a period of slower but more forceful thrusting designed to induce the full expansion of the female genitalia and the gradual acceptance of the knot. Once the knot is in place during estrus, climax of both partners generally occurs rapidly, and can continue anywhere from 20 seconds to potentially several minutes, the longer durations more common in females. Afterwards, both partners are tied together for an extended period, anywhere from 60 to 100 minutes, during which time one or both partners may experience abbreviated "aftershock" orgasms, which when experienced in the male can deposit additional ejaculate. This tendency can be encouraged by continuing movement over the travel allowed by the contained knot during that time.

Females of this species are unique in that they experience several periods of "trial heat," with the symptoms of estrus but without the concomitant reproductive capability, before becoming fully fertile (the onset of trial heat and a similar age in males is considered to be the onset of adulthood, although full reproductive maturity takes place two to three years later). There is some variation in females regarding sexual receptivity outside of estrus; some are capable of arousal and sexual contact, although without the ability to accept the knot, at any time out of estrus, while others are only capable of arousal when in heat. It should be noted that the latter generally experience much stronger heats, and significantly more emphatic sexual responses during estrus. Also somewhat unusual is that periods of estrus occur at very precise intervals, and can be predicted with day-specific accuracy once hormone levels have been observed during at least two or three trial heats.

Protocols: Due to The Cataclysm, and the need to produce the most and strongest offspring, during a period of estrus a woman uses a specialized process to guide her towards specific males with which to mate, using a complex, computerized scheduling system that takes into account several different factors, including genetic compatibility, schedules of other women, and specific choice (although if a match is deemed genetically important enough it may be mandated). Due to the gender imbalance, males often compete, implicitly or explicitly, to be included on the list of contacts for a woman's heat. Outside of heat, contacts are much more casual, at least with women who are able to experience arousal outside of it. However, due to the general lack of available females, men who are not included in heats commonly engage in varying levels of homosexual contact.

DTC Conduct: No DTC personnel are currently deployed here, so contact at this time is unlikely. However, in the case of further contact, there is no reason to think that sexual activity should be precluded, although access to women in heat would probably be prohibited by the host government.

Warnings: Due to the nature of the knot, female personnel or anyone engaging in anal sex should not attempt to accept it, as doing so risks significant internal injury (while there are practitioners of certain unusual sexual activities who may have developed a capacity to accept similar objects, it is nonetheless not recommended). It is believed that males of this species will not attempt to insert the knot into individuals not in estrus, but care should be taken nonetheless. Additionally, male personnel should not attempt sexual activity with women whose arousal is estrus-exclusive; even if they appear willing, unless there is clearly visible external lubrication, sexual contact should not be initiated. Otherwise, sexual contact is not precluded, although standard DTC fraternization protocols do still apply.

AF Reference: THE BONEHEAP

Reference Name: Multi-Species Mirror Universe

Technology Level: Modern (21st century equivalent)

Synopsis: Generally a mirror universe to IAU standard in the 21st century. However, in addition to IAU reference species, population seems to point to multiple sentient, humanoid evolutions, including trends towards canine, feline, directly simian and other animal-type features. These features are more significant and anatomically correct than most. In addition, alternate universal laws, constants, and energy types and sources appear to be present, along with a considerable amount of what would be considered paranormal activity.

Relevant Species: "People"

Classification: Bipedal Humanoid, with adaptations containing features from several classes of animal species. Canines are the predominant form in the areas currently observed; also some felines, simians, and others, although much smaller populations. Additionally, canines appear to be differentiated by modern canine species, including some related wild variants (wolves, foxes, some others). The other species generally have factors that correspond significantly with other species of their type, and so will not be explored here, although protocols and cautions for the similar types should be applied.

Genders: 2 (male, female) (note: some unconfirmed reports of individuals spontaneously changing gender due to unknown forces or circumstances)

Sexual Specifics (as mentioned, primarily referencing the predominant canine species)

Male: Conforms to typical canine layout, with particularly pointed tip to interface with an internal female structure. Generally wider than average, length ranging from seven to ten inches (with some outliers) including knot (note that this can also vary between subspecies). Males produce significantly higher amounts of ejaculate than IAU standards, and have a reduced refractory period (five minutes between full deflation of knot and subsequent restoration of sufficient rigidity to resume penetration).

Female: Conforms to typical anatomically correct canine layout. In place of IAU-standard genitalia there is a structure substantially similar to a canine spade, consisting of a trio of thick, fleshy pads tightly arrayed in modified cloverleaf configuration, with the genital opening in the center and the urethral opening nearby but still within the general structure. The pads of the spade expand slightly on arousal, and swell significantly during the onset of estrus.

Females, when aroused, tend to produce lubrication consistent to coat all interior surfaces as well as the exterior surface of the spade; during estrus, this lubrication is significantly increased and constant, and contains both a distinctive scent and a strong pheromone component that telegraphs the status to nearby males.

The internal structures are also generally consistent, with significant swelling and enhanced elasticity during heat to accommodate the presence of the knot. There is a general clitoral structure; however, it is entirely contained within the inner passage, and receives moderate stimulation, usually enough to achieve climax, during standard intercourse (and, when heated, significant to overwhelming stimulation from the knot being pressed directly against it, amplifying any additional sexual motions). It should be noted that females of this species experience a more symptomatic heat than most, producing significant sexual need and frustration, and will often modify their behavior significantly to accommodate it.

One additional note concerns a somewhat unusual approach taken by females in response to sexual assault. Unlike many other species, where such contact can be injurious and resistance is advocated, females of this species contain several adaptations, perhaps due to a long evolutionary history of such contacts, designed to allow them to endure most types of sexual contact with the spade and internal structures, whether voluntary or otherwise. These adaptations include immediate and profuse vaginal lubrication upon indication that any type of sexual activity is imminent, including visual acknowledgement of exposed male genitalia, or aggressive physical contact against any female erogenous zones. Due to these adaptations, upon realizing sexual contact is inevitable some females of this species immediately acquiesce and allow sexual contact to occur. However, it is important to note that this acquiescence should never be taken as an indication of consent.

Mating: Sex can occur regardless of whether or not the female is in estrus, but the knot can generally only be inserted during heat, or with significant effort on the part of the male and considerable discomfort on the part of the female. Mating follows the typical pattern of rapid, vigorous male thrusting in a generally canine pattern, and due to this, sexual contact most often takes place in sexual positions that most allow for that specific type of motion. During heat, there is a secondary period of directed thrusting to spread the spade open enough to accept the knot.

Once inserted, the knot typically stimulates a female orgasm within several seconds; the contractions secondary to that climax then subsequently encourages male ejaculation. When the penis, including knot, is fully inserted, the penile tip engages with a portion of the female anatomy slightly equivalent to the cervix and provides enough pressure to spread it open far enough to entirely surround and contain it, allowing the ejaculate to be deposited within a reservoir just below the uterus; the sperm will then expand upward from it and ensure fertilization.

After the knot is inserted, the partners will remain tied together anywhere between seven and fifteen minutes until the knot deflates enough for it to be removed. One unusual quirk of the knotting process is that if the male shifts the knot rapidly inside while tied together, completing the motion with renewed inward pressure, the sexual response of the female will continue, with an additional climax generally guaranteed within a second or two of the culminating pressure, although subsequent climaxes cannot generally occur until the entire physiological response of the current one is complete, followed by a short recovery period.

Most females can perform sexual contact outside of estrus, albeit without the ability to accept the knot; during this time, it is generally considered to be the knot's stimulation of the pads that make up the spade, in addition to moderate stimulation of the internal clitoris, that create the female climax during this time. Neither the male nor female climaxes are as strong, or as lengthy, as they are during heat.

Reproductive ability is unknown but assumed to generally conform to IAU standards. Due to muzzled and generally narrower head shapes, it is assumed that childbirth should be easier than most.

Protocols: General courtship primarily conforms to IAU standards, with most people engaging in ostensibly monogamous relationships. However, during estrus, promiscuity is both commonplace and socially accepted, although heat also seems to result in a significant percentage of impulsive or otherwise unwanted sexual contacts.

DTC Conduct: Contact with this dimension is generally sporadic; however, due to the presence of individuals that are somewhat similar in appearance to IAU reference species, official diplomatic contacts have been made. Sexual contact is generally acceptable; however, refer to warnings for the specific species type you are encountering before initiating such activity. Especially considering the unusual canine response to aggressive sexual contact, the conduct code is amended for this species to require continuous affirmative consent for the entire duration of the sexual encounter.

Warnings: Both genders can have some tendency towards sexual aggression; use caution. Also note that the nature of female heat can lead to desperation and split-second impulsive acts. If you are male and encounter a female with the distinct odor of heat, be aware that sexual contact may be initiated unexpectedly and may be difficult to abstain from. Keep in mind that female personnel who do not desire contact from males of this species should be direct and explicit in their denials, and be prepared to use chemical deterrents if necessary should the aggression continue. General contact rules regarding knots also apply, although it is unlikely a male of this species will attempt to insert one unless under the distinctive pheromonal influence of estrus.

AF Reference: THE RED ONES

Reference Name: The Feline Metropolis

Technology Level: Near-Future (23rd century equivalent)

Synopsis: Primary contact point is, as typical, an planet similar to reference, although with a dense continental core and limited oceans. More than half of the land area is made up of a sprawling city-state metropolis with its attendant suburbs, resources and industrial production around the perimeter. There is a single sentient species, and a limited number of plant and animal species upon which they rely.

Relevant Species: "People"

Classification: Bipedal Humanoid, with extensive feline components - considered generally a 50% feline anthropomorph, or "felinoid". The males do not possess nipples, while the females possess them along several moderate ridges or "breastlets" along much of their chest and abdomen. Fur is shorthaired and comes in most traditional feline markings (although there is a prevalence of more exotic markings made possible by genetic engineering).

Genders: 2 (male, female). It should be noted that there are very few natural-born females present in this species; most females are originally males that have undergone a direct physical and genetic conversion as part of a biomedical procedure.

Sexual Specifics

Male: Generally conforms to standard felinoid dimensions and features. Shaft is generally five to six inches in length and standard girth, with a semi-coronal ridge; the ridge and shaft beneath feature several rows of inward-curving, chelated spines that are fixed in place and do not retract.

Female: Females of this species can come in several configurations due to the fact that most of them are scientifically constructed. External features, like most felines, are unremarkable, although there is one significantly noticeable difference - instead of a prominent set of breasts, dual rows of nipples extend down the chest and part of the abdomen, a small area around each swelled out noticeably but less so than traditional breasts (and thus are so termed "breastlets.")

The external genitalia is limited to a single pair of vaginal lips surrounding the genital opening and urethra. Natural-born members of this species feature a clitoral-analogue structure located between the urethral and genital openings that receives significant internal and external stimulation during sex. Created females, however, usually have the clitoral tissue dispersed and set at varying locations beneath the surface of the vaginal walls (depending on the amount of spine-based stimulation desired before orgasm can be achieved). As a result, most females achieve climax solely through penetration. The inner walls are generally designed to be exceedingly resilient to handle the feline style of mating; while the outer surfaces have limited sensory receptors, at least one interior layer usually has sufficient sensitivity to respond strongly to the raking of the male spines, creating the signal that causes the reproductive system to induce ovulation (although it should be noted that internal devices to block ovulation except under specific circumstances are common throughout all created females).

Females of this species feature a standard type of feline estrus. However, they are unique in that they are the only species currently discovered that has developed an technological internal regulator to activate and deactivate the state and level of estrus at will, instead of on a naturally occurring cycle. This means that estrus generally occurs far more frequently than it otherwise would. Estrus symptoms at maximum activation are exceedingly strong, preempting most voluntary thought and action until the condition is resolved through mating and the stimulation of the inner walls by the penile spines, and if left unchecked at this level can cause the dangerous condition of hormone toxicity.

Mating: Mating in this species is generally brief, and rarely occurs unless the female is at least experiencing a minimal level of estrus, as such matings may have insufficient lubrication and could potentially cause damage.

The mating act itself is characterized by several distinct phases. The first is the initial penetration, which is generally quick, and results in the male fully extended within the female and relatively motionless for several seconds. The male then pulls out, generally somewhat slowly, the spines causing both pain and stimulation in the female. The male then thrusts back inside, and will withdraw and reenter one or two more times, ejaculating immediately after the entire shaft has reentered the female on the ultimate thrust.

The spines are the primary stimulator of the female, and the female will usually begin to climax at the culmination of the second stroke. Both male and female climaxes last between ten and twenty seconds, at which point the male pulls out while fully erect; this withdrawal commonly causes the female to have a secondary, slightly less intense "aftershock" climax as the shaft withdraws from her.

It should be noted that this progression occurs most commonly within the standard female, or "proprietor." The native-born females generally climax even more readily, although they are also the only females that follow a natural heat pattern, and thus spend much of their time without engaging in sexual activity (although their particular genitalia allows for more stimulation and arousal when not in heat, their interior configuration is still not properly able to handle penile spines without it, but natural-born females are readily able to climax through directed clitoral stimulation). Additionally, the class of females referred to as The Red Ones is designed to take between one and three additional strokes to achieve climax, and are generally mated more vigorously and with less care to mitigate the pain caused by the spines than other classes of females.

Most of the time, females are blocked from ovulating, as they are unable to undergo heat while pregnant and are generally more in demand for sex than they are for babies. That being said, a certain percentage at any one time are assigned a state of heat and have their ovulation blockers turned off, at which point they become pregnant and maintain the population. All births are multiple, and feature litters of ten to fifteen.

Protocols: This species features three tiers of women, as mentioned: natural-born females, proprietors, and Red Ones. Natural-born females are generally only accessible to the societal elite, and are treated the best of any of the females, or any of the species in general, guaranteed a life of luxury and respect. Harming them in any way is punishable by death. Voluntarily created females, known as proprietors, are essentially prostitutes; as females make up a small minority segment of the population in any case, only the most wealthy can have an exclusive relationship with a woman, and so most sexual contact is about the sex act itself and is transactional in nature. The lowest tier, the Red Ones, are males that committed serious crimes, such as rape or murder, and were sentenced to be transformed into females, stripped of their rights, and made available for unrestricted use by the rest of the population. While the proprietors are allowed to set their own heat levels, Red Ones are kept in a state of near-constant heat to ensure their availability, and can be taken at any time and in any fashion. Many, in fact, are taken in public, something that DTC personnel may find disconcerting.

Currently, the Red Ones program is the subject of protests and ethical review by the government, and as it runs contrary to MAU policy on rights abuses, DTC contact has been restricted until the program is phased out and fair criminal justice proceedings restored. Update: Due to recent developments, this section is amended as follows. Resulting from political pressure, the Red Ones program had its authorization removed, and all Red Ones converted effectively to proprietor status. The resulting shortage of females led the government to implement a lottery/incentive system for recruiting or conscripting additional volunteers to be proprietors. Due to this development, and statutory guarantees that former Red Ones would engage in further sexual contact only voluntarily, the determination at this time is that diplomatic contact may be resumed.

DTC Conduct: Now that contact has been reinstated, DTC personnel should pay careful attention to the significant cautions below about engaging in sexual contact.

Warnings: Sexual activity with any males of this species should be avoided at all costs by either gender, as any contact with the penile spines is likely injurious, from minor lacerations from simple touch to significant and life-threatening damage from any type of penetrative sex. Sex with females would technically be possible, but likely refused, as a standard MAU male's lack of penile spines would generally prevent female enjoyment. Note also that sex with a Red One, should such an encounter still be possible, would be a primary violation of MAU conduct rules and could result in expulsion from the corps. Due to these limitations, sexual contact with this species is obviously not recommended.

AF Reference: CANO SAPIENS

Reference Name: Alternate-Reality Earth; Genetic Hybridization

Technology Level: Modern (21st century equivalent)

Synopsis: Very similar "mirror universe" currently consisting of something approximating pre-unification Earth during the primary transition period following the turn of the millennium. Primary deviation is due to a project run by a Georgian ex-patriate scientist, an even which was prevented before initiation in reference dimension, which succeeded in producing human-animal hybrid species in the discussed dimension.

Relevant Species: Humans, Human/Animal Hybrids (Generation 1: Cano Sapiens, Generation 2+: no official name)

Classification: Classification will primarily discuss hybridized species, as host species is indistinguishable from IAU standard. Generation 1 species consists of a bipedal humanoid with some non-exaggerated canine features, including slight muzzle. All Generation 1 individuals are combinations of humans and specific types of canine pure breeds, and all possess fur that is colored a bright blue. Generation 2 species are humans hybridized with a variety of other mammals, including canine, feline, and certain other specific breeds, including rabbits, raccoons, and red pandas. All possess fur that is primarily in the pattern and color of their animal-hybrid counterpart. Additional features include animal-type ears and tails, and foreshortened muzzles. Otherwise, primarily humanoid features.

Genders: 2 (male, female). Generation 1 individuals are all male, while Generation 2 individuals are both male and female.

Sexual Specifics

Male: Genitalia is effectively human/humanoid, although generally with fur covering the scrotum. The penile shaft often shows a very slight change in overall shape to partially mimic the hybrid-animal version, usually just enough to suggest the counterpart. Function is generally similar.

Female: Genitalia is effectively human/humanoid in structure and form. There are few signs of animal-hybrid influence within either interior or exterior genital structures, and should facilitate coitus in a similar fashion.

Mating: One feature that has carried over from the generic hybridized genetic base, regardless of actual animal species hybridized (within the Gen 2+ species), is the induction of estrus within the females upon reaching puberty, taking the place of the human menstrual cycle. Estrus occurs roughly once every three months, and lasts between two to four days, ceasing earlier if insemination is successfully achieved. Females also release hormones that hybridized males are susceptible to, provoking a potentially uncontrollable sex drive in males exposed to them.

It should be noted that Generation 1 individuals have remarkably different mating patterns than subsequent generations. Cano Sapiens in practice are exclusively homosexual, and have a drive to pair up with specific human individuals who possess a currently unknown subset of features that they are drawn to. At that point, they act sexually in a wholly homosexual manner, both with their chosen partners and with members of their own species. Additionally, through continued contact with their human partners, a specific empathic bond is forged between them, making the human partner especially susceptible to certain chemicals which coat the Cano Sapien's fur, and are also present in certain other bodily fluids, including saliva and semen, which can produce an altered state of perception, often characterized by powerful attraction and arousal. Humans partnered with Cano Sapiens often exhibit certain changes in behavior, including hypersexuality. It is believed that there are other aspects to the empathic link than are currently understood, but the link can transmit both general emotion and specific physical sensations, including the sensation of orgasm. It is unknown whether Generation 2 individuals possess some, if any, of these features, as they were the result of a separate genetic development process isolated from the genetic quirks of the first attempt (there are some indications that the first attempt may also have been cross-bred with genetics from a heretofore-unspecified military biochemical warfare project).

Protocols: Due to the nature of estrus compelling sexual contact between males and females when both are kept together, the males and females of this species are often kept segregated to limit the risk of unintended offspring (as action is often compelled at a level of functioning which precludes the conscious decision to apply a condom, and as no birth control has currently been developed for the alternate mode of female reproduction). Additionally, anal sex is prohibited in both Generation 1 and 2 individuals, due to potentially toxic anal secretions - this specifically means that they cannot receive (bottom) anal sex, but could potentially engage in it in the penetrating position. However, not wanting to risk individuals inadvertently trying to receive anal sex and possibly cause harm to both themselves and their partners, anal sex is heavily discouraged and homosexual individuals of this species are directed to alternate methods of sexual expression.

DTC Conduct: DTC has only engaged in an unmanned observation mission to this dimension, so it is unlikely that DTC personnel will be engaging with it. In the case that it becomes an issue, it should be noted that contact with the human inhabitants of this dimension is unrestricted beyond the standard protocols of decorum. Contact with hybridized species is also unrestricted, with the exception of unattached Generation 1 individuals, which due to their potential to bond should be avoided as a possible disruption to the duties of DTC officials. Generation 1 individuals who are partnered, though, are also unrestricted. Be aware that it may be possible for you to impregnate Generation 2 individuals, so always use protection.

Warnings: Due to the potential for toxicity, anal sex should not be attempted with any Generation 1 or 2 individuals, even with protection. Otherwise, there are no specific warnings for this dimension.

Dimension 373-209-194

AF Reference: THE ASSIGNMENT

Reference Name: Alternate Earth; Tiaileng Settlement & Symbiosis

Technology Level: Modern (21st century equivalent, expanding to higher levels upon arrival of Tiaileng)

Synopsis: An alternate "mirror-image" earth, the primary difference being that in this specific dimension, an alien race known as the Tiaileng intervene in human history and impose themselves on the native population, eventually cohabiting the planet with them.

Relevant Species: Humans, Tiaileng

Classification: The Tiaileng are a humanoid alien species (home star system in specified dimension unknown). They are significantly similar to the Tiaileng in the reference dimension; however, in the reference dimension, Tiaileng are simply another alien species encountered after the MAU was formed, without any particular impact on Union politics or makeup, and are detailed fully in Publication 1072.

The Tiaileng in the specified dimension possess most of the standard features of the species, including photosynthetic and bioluminescent blue-green fur, standard humanoid frame, and catbear-like features, with the notable absence of breasts in females and nipples in either gender. Additionally, unlike the reference species, which has almost squirrel-like full-length tails, this specific variant has a foreshortened version, similar to a bobcat's. Physical shape is also generally humanoid, generally slim, but with most gendered morphological differences aside from the absence of breasts, including typical shapes and musculature. This general trend leads to them being considered attractive by most similar humanoid species.

Like the reference Tiaileng, the fur of this species is photosynthetic, and energy is provided by photonic sources - as such, they maintain an internal system for processing liquid, but no digestive tract, and cannot consume solid food. Unusual to other Tiaileng encountered, though, they appear capable of absorbing a type of emotional energy from humans and certain other sentient species. It is believed that this is due to a different model of physics present within this parallel universe, specifically in the energetic spectrum, and in any case its mechanism, in any dimension other than the one discussed, had evaded observation by all known scientific inquiry.

Genders: 2 (male, female)

Sexual Specifics

Male: Generally conforms to length, width and form of human standard, with slight modifications to the proportions of the shaft, glans and coronal ridge. It should be noted that the ejaculate of this species is more copious than standard, although the gamete content is similar; the remainder is a complex semi-gel lubricant with significant persistence, meant to interact with the female counterpart and ensure that multiple matings in quick succession remain comfortable. Note also that both males and females lack any sort of anal opening (as their bodies do not create or process solid waste, there is no digestive system that would necessitate one).

The tip of the male penis, and roughly the 1cm section of shaft directly below it, is capable of performing nutation during intercourse, on a circular path deviating up to fifteen degrees from center, a motion that is consciously controllable, ceasing during the initial moments of climax but continuing autonomically once ejaculation begins in earnest (the purpose of this motion during ejaculation is unknown at this time, although it has been theorized that it is done to more uniformly coat the vaginal canal, thus more easily facilitating repeated intercourse).

Female: The females of this species possess a simplified vulva, with a urethra located outside and approximately one centimeter above the apex of the labia (as there is no physical structure equivalent to the labia majora, the term minora is unnecessary), a flattened mons pubis that generally resembles an oval of bare skin, and the absence of a clitoris; rather, the interior vaginal walls are sexually sensitive, and orgasm is achieved through their direct stimulation. The vaginal walls are also contained within several individual muscle groups that ring the exterior from 1cm beyond the vulval opening to 1/2cm before the connection with the cervical structure. These muscle groups can be operated independently and consciously by the female during intercourse, and their exercise provides much of the tension that provides the impetus for climax; during the climax itself, however, the muscles operate simultaneously and autonomically.

Like certain other species, Tiaileng females constantly produce lubrication that coats the vaginal walls. A membrane that lies beneath the labia, similar in form but not function to the nictating membrane on the eyes of certain reference-dimension reptiles, prevents the lubrication from exiting, but can retract within 200 milliseconds to allow sexual contact. Tiaileng females are thus capable of sexual contact with little or no prior notice; combined with the lubricant deposited in the form of ejaculate, a Tiaileng female is capable of engaging in intercourse with a succession of Tiaileng males effectively indefinitely, although the practical limit is dictated by the individual's stamina and level of physical exhaustion from the effort exerted.

Mating: Tiaileng who are assigned to colony ships are provided with a slight genetic modification that carries on to their offspring, and requires a specific combination of synthesized chemicals to be ingested before ovulation occurs. This means that unless Tiaileng officially apply to have children, or obtain the chemical compound through other means, sex between Tiaileng is not procreative. Therefore, most sexual contact between Tiaileng is recreational, and meant for pleasure. Tiaileng are fully capable of mating with humans, and while they may do so for pleasure, their own pleasure in that case is secondary; their primary motivation for engaging in sex with humans is to cause them to release the emotions concomitant with each stage of the sexual response cycles (arousal, plateau, orgasm, and resolution).

Specific mating styles tend to differ depending on the species of the sexual partner. With humans, assigned or otherwise, they generally tend to adopt the standard rhythms, positions, and approaches commonly used in human-to-human intercourse. With their own kind, however, the approach is often different, favoring sexual positions that provide the most full-body contact between partners. The pace is also considerably different, with wide variations in the speed and strength of penile thrusting throughout intercourse, including lengthy pauses between sequences of thrusts (it is believed that during these periods the internal muscular movements of both males and females become the predominant forms of stimulation). While Tiaileng females do not tend to engage in reciprocal thrusting behavior during intercourse, and do not often engage in female-dominant positions during intercourse that would require such motions on their part (although they will do so at the urging of their human partners), this should not be considered a form of gender imbalance in sexual activity; rather, it is believed to be due to the considerably higher level of engagement and direct actions provided by the internal muscle groups, making them the predominant focus of concentration during sexual encounters.

Protocols: Upon arriving on this dimension's Earth, the Tiaileng disabled the weapon systems of all standing armies before engaging in a modernization campaign to provide all humans with the necessary resources to survive and thrive; this was done so contingent on the agreement that all humans, upon reaching the age of consent, would be given Tiaileng partners who they would live with, and to whom they would provide the emotional energy that this variant of Tiaileng desires. At the current point, there is a global citizenship initiative that ties together the Tiaileng benefits and the required assignment in a formalized system.

While the Tiaileng attempted to conform to human cultural standards of this dimension, engaging in human-Tiaileng sex generally only with their assigned partners or with other humans who their partner allowed them to contact, they are much more open with other members of their species. Only when they are directly working on procreation do Tiaileng tend to pair up specifically; otherwise, they are open to sexual contact with most other Tiaileng, including in some cases immediate family (between siblings - no records have been found of parent/child contact, although sibling contacts, same-sex and otherwise, have been known to continue well into adulthood). One of the cultural adaptations means that such contact is now intentionally restricted to areas outside of the public sphere - behind closed doors, however, anything goes. Tiaileng specifically treat sexual contact in a very casual manner, and do not often ascribe a particular import to it beyond the enjoyment and happiness generated by the encounter itself; as such, they are readily open to intimacy at every opportunity. While this is one of the aspects that their human partners find most intriguing about them, it is also one that the society at large finds most vexing, although cultural attitudes are quickly changing. It should be noted at this point that Tiaileng assignments are only on their third generation, and the first generation featuring Tiaileng primarily born on Earth.

DTC Conduct: No direct contact has been made with this dimension, so DTC personnel are unlikely to interact with them. However, in the case that conduct is warranted, treatment is exactly the same as with other species of this general classification, and they are considered to be a fully unrestricted race. They are also one of the few races where public sexual contact is not completely contraindicated; DTC personnel, however, should be mindful of maintaining the decorum necessary to reflect well on their office.

Warnings: There are no specific warnings, as Tiaileng are known to never engage in sexual contact that could be considered risky. Note, however, that due to a lack of a mammalian digestive tract, there is no anal opening, and especially sharp and plentiful teeth prevent traditional oral sex; as a result, males wishing to perform penetrative sex can do so only with Tiaileng females. Alternate forms of sexual contact, though, are readily available with both genders.
