WindSwept: Part 11

PART 11
SYNOPSIS:
After Part 10:
--Gale, Flora and crew head deeper into the lab and discover a powerful gemstone, the one that can revive Flora's father.
--Demons freed from Gormath's body play mind games with Gale, and teleport the gem from one place to another within the lab. This causes Gale to go berserk and enter Dark Mode and run away after the gem
--Flora is incredibly distraught, especially after he tries to attack her in his literally blind rage. She runs away back to the Dragon City where her father's comatose body is
--Gale forces himself to calm down, with help from Aznor and Flora's father. He has no idea where she ran off to, but decides to get the gem and heal her father before trying to make up with her.
--Corin and Lara end up leaving Flora for a while to go to a nearby hidden mountain village to see if they can find anything about the dark lord Orcharis.
--Gale succeeds in finding the gem finally, but the mysterious voice from the cave and the lab threatens to exterminate him if he tries to use the jewel.
--Flora leaves the city to look for Gale when Corin and Lara come back with no information
--Gale heads back to the city in a panic and finds Flora again, typical make-up make-out
--They try to use the stone to revive Flora's father, but he suddenly stops them, sensing that something is terribly wrong with the situation
--Aznor forces Gale into dark-mode and shatters the crystal, unleashing the two other Lords of Negative Emotions he absorbed before
--The energy of the gem summons the other surviving Lords to the City, and a huge battle takes place on the mountainside, Gale using the armor pieces from before and Flora aiding him with elemental backup. Corin and Lara help too with the shadow-minions the combined powers of the Lords bring forth.
--Aznor ends up finally killing the other Lords and absorbing them, only to have Gale realize that he is Orcharis's descendant, the only way he can bond with Aznor and harness his powers
--Arond this time Charos and Glairn are having to help the Final Resistance in the mountains, repelling Ocardology's final attempts to access a power source hdden in the mountains. Charos slays the Ocardology president, the one who gave away Gale's information to Gormath and allowed the evil dragon to torment Gale for so long. In doing so he also sets off a bomb in the research lab, destroing Ocardology's central headquarters but also injuring himself badly. Glairn nurses him back to health, they have passionate sex to celebrate, then head off to help with the next threat that arises.
--Orcharis appears and tempts Gale to join him, using Flora as bait by telling Gale that if he joins, Flora will be safe
--Gale amost succumbs, but when Orcharis gives them a day to consider, Flora reveals to Gale that she's pregnant; Gale suddenly resolves to guard her
--Orcharis returns, Gale declines, and the two end up fighting for control of the power of the Lords. Orcharis strikes Gale down and gets ready to kill him, but Aznor has other plans. He has seen the bond of love between Gale and Flora, and desires to protect it since he himself was never able to experience such a bond. In one fell swoop Aznor floods himself and all his absorbed power into Orcharis. The power overload drives the dragon mad with power lust, and he summons a huge storm to destroy everything. However the intense power degrades his mind, and as he loses control of himself he also loses control of the storm. Everything snaps when Corin and Lara rush in and fight him, Corin injuring him badly in a vicious brawl, and Lara finally shooting him in the neck with her last few arrows. With the break in Orcharis's concentration, the lightning is drawn to him, and in a blinding array all the storm's electric power is flooded into him, outright killing him and reducing him to mere ashes. Gale, robbed of his ice powers but still able to produce wind, uses his power as Orcharis's descendant to blow the ashes away and scatter them, summoning a windstorm from the upper atmosphere to push the stormcloud away. The wind, in its flight over the land, brings a breath of fresh air, clearing the haze and bringing out the true power of the sun. Gale almost dies from the expendature but Flora's father, still bonded to him, helps him hang on just long enough for help to arrive.
--Charos and Glairn come by for a visit with the leaders of the Final Resistance, and afer learning about the situation they decide to search the catacombs for a jewel they heard about hidden deep inside where adults can't go. Because of her smaller size Glairn is able to retrieve the gem, and Charos flies her back out. The gem is then used to finally unlock the curse on Flora's father. Gale and her father both make a slow recovery, but in the end, they all end up staying for a while to wait out Flora's pregnancy.
