Story about a blind genetically engineered wolverine going through life in society. Trying to become a citizen the world she's been thrust into. Well, so what others tell her. She just wants to be happy, live, and maybe find love.

Angela Thomas 8 By : John Hartman

The giant wolverine morph cautiously walked into the common area of her school. Been a week since she was there due to another suspension. She did her best not to pay attention to what was going on around her. Seems the media frenzy built up during her time at home. The local public was showing up to public meetings in regards for their push to expel her from school altogether. Which quickly made it harder for Kevin to casually go visit her. Though as the locals were making their voices known toward Angela in general, folks from out of state were flowing in to voice their support toward her. That was something that both pleased and embarrassed Angela. Even though she felt supported by the world, it quickly also seemed she had no privacy from the world. The same people who were showing up to public places to protest to keep her in school were also camping outside of her home. Something even Jenny was angry about since her whereabouts was supposed to be unlisted. Either way, Angela only sensed she was being watched in the house. But didn't know till Jenny came home enraged, telling her she needs to keep the curtains closed and to start wearing clothing in the house now since the media somehow got photos of the wolverine nude, typing away on a laptop with goggles and headphones as the only article worn.

Angela sighs as she take her normal seat, only to hear a girl that erks her the most quickly approach her, "So you were able to come back, huh?"

The wolverine snarls weakly, not comfortable in her surroundings since that televised nude shot of her, "What is it, Linda?"

The short, redhead girl sat on the table in front of the wolverine, taunting her, "How much did they pay you to show a bit of skin? And wow, that was such a tiny bit of skin."

"Fuck off," Angela snarls quietly.

"What's that?" Linda mocks the wolverine as she put a hand near her ear, "I can't hear you. Are you scared? Afraid there may be cameras around you?" Angela says nothing as she just blankly looked at Linda. Linda then laughs, mocking her, "Aww, did the media attention be too much for you? Got to speak your little sob story, speak your mind. Next thing you know you are no longer left alone and you have to worry about being watched? For a mutt who grew up in the labs, always being watched, you sure are tight lipped now."

Angela snarls at Linda once more. She then says softly, "Linda?"

"What is it, puppy?" Linda says it in a sing song way.

"Please go take a long relaxing jog off of a high, short pier," Angela growls.

Linda looked around, making sure no one was watching. She then backhands the wolverine roughly across the face, making her yipe in pain. The students stopped to look as Linda walked away, saying nothing. Angela bares her claws, but does nothing as she just snarls in frustration. The other students went back to what they were doing, noticing Angela isn't going to do more than give a threatening stance to the girl who was already out of the room.

Angela does her best not to cry. After losing privacy at home, she was hoping maybe the school would be some weird place to find solace. So far it's just as bad as she left it, as far as she could tell. Her nose flares up as she recognize the scent of a male she been wanting to rant at for a week. She growls angrily at Eric, "Okay dick head. There's only one student I gave my address to. Why the fuck did you let them get my address?"

"Whoa, whoa," Eric look confused. He was expecting her to rant at him about her butt, so this threw him off. He asked uneasily, "Give what to what?"

The wolverine sighs, then folds her arms, "What did you do to the address I gave you a while back? My whereabouts was kept quiet. I now have hordes of strangers at our lawn and I can't get any peace."

"I don't know," Eric said nervously, "I had it, placed it on my phone. I put the paper down as I put my phone away, look on the desk and it was gone."

Angela snarled out the f sound, too angry to fully stop herself from saying a curse word. She eventually stops, then asked, "What class was it you seen it last?"

"Biology," Eric responds, "Or was that Social Studies?"

The wolverine snarls once more in anger, but says nothing as she blankly faced him. Eric start to get very nervous as he says, "Hey, I never gave them anything. Nothing at all. Nothing I have have not seen anyone else's eyes."

"You can't even keep your fucking mouth shut," Angela snarls in a whisper, "Yet you are able to keep my address and things out of sight?" She then throws her arms up in the air, "I give up. You are an enigma to me. A fucking enigma. How you live this long, I have no fucking clue."

Eric for the first time got angry and got in her face, "Damn it Angela, I am not stupid. I fucked up, a lot, okay, I get it. I never once came to you and tried to sell you my smartness. I may not fully understand a lot of things, but I am trying." A group of students was starting to watch the angry boy who is standing and in the face of a sitting, angry wolverine morph starting to make a scene.

Angela snarls and snaps her dangerously large, toothy muzzle in his face as she angrily responds, "You have no fucking empathy. You don't know or care if you overstep a boundary till you get smacked around. Only a fucking moron needs to be smacked around to learn something. And even then you still don't get. You are more dangerous than you realize."

"I can protect you," Eric says in defense, despite still looking angry.

"From whom?" Angela asked incredulously, "You? You can't protect me from you. All you'll do is fuck me till I am used up and bleeding. Like the last two times." She then angrily got up and stormed off, "Leave me alone."

Eric looks defeated as he just mumbles, "At least believe me that I didn't sell you out."

Angela heard that and stopped. Her ears was aimed at him as her back was facing him. She then snarls, "I believe you. If it was lost in Social Studies, then I have a fucking clue who did it." She then stormed off toward Kevin Malkovich's office.

The wolverine knocked on the door, hoping for an answer. The door opened, only to have a pink hand and a fuzzy white arm grab her hand and pull her in as he whispers, "Quickly." She quickly got in and he latches the door, saying softly, "How's it going?"

"Shitty," Angela says weakly as she hug him in her arms, "I miss you."

"Miss you too," Kevin whispers in her ears. He then gives a light lick under her chin.

"Why the whispering?" Angela growled quietly.

"I don't know if it's true," Kevin whispers to the wolverine, "But I been told recently that higher ups will start eavesdropping over the intercoms. Which is good for me getting Linda to leave me alone. But bad for us."

"Great," Angela sighs, "And I wanted to get peace from home." Kevin looked worried as Angela just dropped the quiet talk. She then says, petting his head gently, "We got nothing to hide, after all, we are just talking about school."

Kevin tilts his head, then smiles as he says, "Yes, of course. Just the issues you have with certain students I figured you wanted to safe place to confide in."

"Fuck Eric," Angela snarls, "All he wants to do is fuck me in the ass again." Kevin look way uneasy with that. The wolverine didn't notice as she then says, "But I am not in the mood to talk about that. I am happy to see you. I am hoping later today I can talk you into coming over for Dinner. Jenny's making some wonderful Lasagna. Not as good as Jerome used to make, but still good."

Kevin smiles as he pets the wolverine on the head, making her smile broadly too as he says, "The crowd is going to make a story about this."

Angela snarls angrily, looking like she snapped, "Motherfuckers!"

"Whoa, whoa," Kevin says in defense, the albino rat putting his hands up to the blind wolverine like that might calm her.

"All I want is to have a nice fucking evening with my family and friends!" Angela screams in a monstrously sounding voice that even made Kevin's fur stand on end. She then flails blindly with her cane, knocking things over, "I am fed up with trying to be whatever the fuck everyone wants me to be!" She then start to whimper loudly, "Fuck...throw in a school, throw me in a pit. Throw me up, throw me down. In, out, in, out. Stand up, sit down...fuck everyone. Not once have anybody from any side sat down and asked me what I truly want." Kevin was silent, actually scared to do anything as she just cried, "Damn it. Kids hate me here. Parents fear me. Yet now there's strangers at my door who know nothing of me and hold me up like I am some sort of messiah ushering a new age. Yet when I say anything out of line, they talk over me like they know what I want."

Kevin finally unfroze and sat next to her, putting an arm around her waist as he hugs her close. The huge wolverine leans on him in a hug as she continues to cry as the rat morph says, "I am terribly sorry."

Angela sniffs as she chuckles a little, "Why you sorry? You didn't force me into this?"

"You are right," Kevin says seriously, petting her hand with his free hand. "But I am part of the cogs of this machine you been thrust into." Angela goes silent as she thought about it as he continues to talk, "My intentions are not ill, Angela, but despite what side of the camp I am on, I am making plans and decisions on your behalf." He then says softly, "Though I guess it helps lately that I know your true feelings on matters that I can try to work things out to your liking."

The wolverine growls softly, "But...Kevin...why you so interested?"

"I want justice, I want equality, I want to see this world get better," Kevin admits, "You fully know now that if you were like your fellow Wolverines, you WILL be killed without question. You are not only proof that it's not genetics, but culture from both sides that keeps your kind away from us."

"Culture from both sides?" Angela asked.

"What?" Kevin asked, "You believe it's because our society's view on wolverines is the reason they are living out there far from us? I've been thinking about this for a long time before I met you. I feel they believe nothing good will come out of dealing with us other than death. I am sure what we see close by are probably the stragglers who are interested in us. But don't know how to broach the subject."

"They are fucking monsters," Angela no longer held back her thoughts on her kind, "All they do is trash things, invade places, kill anything that moves. And with my personal experience, fuck anything that moves."

Kevin sighs and folds his arms, looking disappointed in her, "Angela, there will always be a bad person, regardless of who they are, where they come from, their backgrounds, anything."

"Yeah, yeah, I get it," Angela snarls, not wanting to talk about this.

Kevin folds his arms, actually glaring at her, though she can't tell as he says, "If all Wolverines are like you said, so why should I trust you?"

Angela's jaw dropped, then she stuttered, "But, but, but..."

The rat let go of her, standing up as he says at her in a tone that is both polite, yet icy, "Oh, did I hit a spot? Listen up Pup, and listen good. People will see you from what they can physically see with their own eyes. And regardless how you behave, present yourself with those pretty flowers on your head, the little perfume, groomed fur. You are still a Wolverine. Just like I am still a rat. And regardless who we are, we'll have a bit of stereotypes tacked onto us. Like me being a rat, probably eats shit in a sewer somewhere and tiny little dick with basketball sized nuts. Or you, you, yes you Angela. A tall, giant wolverine morph. Long arms, long legs, all teeth and claws. A lot of yelling, a lot of bite."

Angela was crying at this point, unable to believe he's being harsh on her as he then says firmly, "You know what? Fuck this. I am not going to spell this out for you. You are a damn wolverine. No matter how you want to believe you are not, you are. And till you accept that and learn to live with it, no one is going to fucking respect you," Kevin is now irate with her as he angrily says, "You think I like having my species slapped in my face? Do you?" When Angela didn't respond other than sobs, he yells in her face, "Do you?!"

"GAH, no, no, no, I never said...," Angela cries back, only to have Kevin all the sudden hug her. She just cries as she was stiff, scared of him.

Kevin sighs as he started to cry himself, sobbing, "Damn it Angela, if I didn't care, I wouldn't have gotten mad at you like I did. You really dissapointed me. The world isn't fair, that is true. But it owes you nothing. Owes us nothing. If we want it better for us all, then we need to make it better for us all. But it won't happen if you are too damn worried about yourself." He then let go of her and went to the sink, saying, "You can't separate yourself from a group. But a group can't survive if individuals won't support it. Want to make things better as a whole? Got to fix it from within. Not walk away from it and burn it with fire." He then asked, "How would you look at me if I said I hate rats. Rats are fealthy little shits who shit their homes and piss in their own drinking water?"

Angela sniffs, then says toward Kevin, almost pleading, "I am sorry Kevin, I get it. I get it. I...," she then sighs, sobbing, "I just want peace."

Kevin sighs as he slumps onto the bleacher, sitting next to Angela once more. He then hugs her with both arms, rocking the tall wolverine in his arms. The wolverine hugs him back, crying once more as the bell rang. Kevin says softly, "Fuck the bell, you need this." Angela nods as they hugged a bit longer as Kevin can hear his class entering the locker rooms. He held her for a long time, which was helping her calm down. After the second bell rang, Kevin sighs, saying to her, "I think I see that last piece that is missing in your life. Maybe I can see if I can vouch to be a father figure." He then says firmly, "Okay, here." He picked up a towel and a couple of energy bars, "Here, wipe up and eat up. Then head to class." He got up and quickly wrote a note, "Hopefully this will help you get excused for being late. Now let's not make this a habit." Angela look very lost as Kevin lead her out of his office and coaxed her to head to class, saying, "I'll come to dinner for sure. Tell Jenny I'll bring the long bread. Now take care pup." He then closes the door as the wolverine just looked lost with everything that just happened.

Angela's classes went uneventful, which was a relief to her. Her lunch period came quickly, which she was looking forward to hanging out with Kevin. Though she was disappointed when she found his office locked and no one inside responding. The wolverine sighs as she got in line for her lunch, getting her usual favourite burrito. As she got her plate, the kid ahead of her, Daniel, who was in her next period commented, "You always get a burrito."

The wolverine growls, "Cause they made good burritos." She then walk away from him, "You seem to get nothing but tater tots."

Daniel lowers his eyes, then decides to follow her, "Cause I like tater tots. It's pre-packaged and hard for them to mess up."

The wolverine sat at her normal spot near the administration wing, growling at Daniel, "You guys all complain about the food here. You should try to food at the labs. Most can't even toast bread without causing a fire."

"I bet, if you find this food to be good," Daniel comments as he starts to eat his tater tots, deciding to sit with her.

Angela's ears listen to him cautiously as her nose flares up, finding it odd he wants to hang out. But she welcomes him over Eric, and he's been the least on her list of annoyances, so she decided to give him a chance as she responds, "Have you ever tried this burrito?"

"No, it smells weird," Daniel responds, giving a disgusted look that she can't see.

The wolverine, who hadn't touched her food yet, smiled slowly as she says, "Try mine."

The boy freezes, blinking at the offer. He then says, "You hadn't touched it, have you?"

"No," Angela snarls, almost insulted, "And if I did, I wouldn't pass rabies or anything. Look, try it. Don't knock it till you try it."

"You are trusting me to touch your food?" Daniel asked in disbelief, "What if I poison you? You wouldn't be able to see."

"I can smell it," Angela snarls. She then wags her tail, smiling as she growls, "But I appreciate the concern. Go on, take a piece."

"Okay," Daniel responds. He pulled out a plastic fork and knife, cutting a small edge off, looking at it. He then picked it up with the fork and put it into his mouth. He ate it slowly at first, looking like he wants to criticize it. But in the end, he actually responds in disbelief, "This is actually good."

"Told you," Angela made a soft growl as she smiled widely, "It's quite good. I do like the pizza too....though there's better pizza out there. I think they just use pre made stuff for the pizza."

Daniel actually chuckles, then silently ate his tater tots as Angela started to eat her burrito. They ate silently, till they finished. Once done, Daniel asked, "Not to ruin the mood. But where's Eric?"

"Don't know, don't care," Angela snarled. She then asked as nicely as she could, "I am not complaining, but why you decided to have lunch with me?"

"I don't know," Daniel shrugged, "I usually just eat by myself anyways. Other reason I get tots cause it's easier to eat on the move."

"Why eat on the move?" Angela asked, curious.

Daniel shrugged again, forgetting she can't see his body language. He then grumbles, "I hate being bothered by the others. Everyone feels so fake to me. Always trying to compete with each other, one upping each other. Most would try to cut you down for their own personal gains than to just get along."

Angela blankly look at him as she responds, "So I am not the only one who noticed. I am sick of being the butt of a joke. Or used."

Daniel folds his arms, "Honestly, I still don't know what to think of you. I don't agree with you on that project we are working on. But I do see you trying really hard to be part of the group. Just wish you didn't snap at us at first. Though I get it now. With how everyone seems to have their ulterior motives towards you."

The wolverine folds her arms, looking a bit angry, but does her best not to snap at him as she says, "Adam wanted me gone, Jessica just wants to see me suffer with Eric. She wants Eric to make a fool of himself, which is easy. Yet I have no idea what those two would have gained?" She then grumbles, "And Eric just wants to use my body."

The human boy shrugs, "Adam had his ego shot when you attacked him. He was actually trying to work with you despite how he had preconceptions toward you, being a wolverine and all due to his parents." Angela just sighs as Daniel continues, "He was also a bit of a masochist. Having a girl morph man handle him like a rag doll wasn't going to fly in his mind. Did he have the right to fight back? Probably not, probably yes. But if you never did that, he probably would have just stuck with arguing with you."

Angela sighs, raising her arms up, "I done fucked up, whee."

Daniel chuckles, "Nah, he needed a wake up call. Too bad that wake up call was death knocking at his door."

"Yeah," Angela says sadly, "I don't know what possessed me to try to save him. That male was there cause of me. And he was huge, throw me around like I was a toy."

"Yeah, Eric and I saw that. That was nuts," Daniel admits, "Honestly, I was scared for you enough to run out there with Eric."

"Wait, you were with Eric?" Angela look surprised, "Why didn't you stay with me like Eric did?"

Daniel paused a little, then shrugs, "I don't know, didn't think you would like knowing I was there. I mean, hell, I already knew Eric being there would have been explosive. Little did I know that Eric would all the sudden be a lover of yours for a short bit. That really angered me."

"Wait, you were jealous?" Angela asked in an amused tone.

"What? NO!" Daniel responded, "I just had this gut feeling he was using you for your body and you were foolish enough to think he was worth your time."

Angela sat there, looking at nothing as she felt beside herself. They were silent for a bit till the bell rang. Which she then responded, "I don't know if I would have listened to you if you did warn me then. But you are right. I was a fool. I...I just...," She then sighs, standing up, "I think you know what I want to say. Let's get to class." Daniel nods, despite Angela not able to see his response. He then heads out toward their next class.

Jessica smiles as Daniel just kept to himself. Eric sat far from Angela, actually facing away from her as the wolverine tap the table with her claws, looking impatient. Eventually Angela asked, "So, how far are we on this project?"

Nobody responded, which made Jessica smirk. Angela start to look angry as Daniel then breaks the silence, "Okay, okay, I guess no one wants to talk. Fine." He pulls out his copy and glances over it, "I think we are almost done. Mostly going on the aspect of why this type of pairing wouldn't work."

Angela snarls, almost in a hiss as she asked icly, "And why would this not work?"

"Because you morphs are animals," Jessica says firmly.

"Why, Daniel?" Angela asked him, wanting to hear his take instead of Jessica's.

Daniel actually looked uneasy as he responds, "Well...I think...other than physical looks...uh...there's probably a huge culture gap?" He then look at the others who were looking at him with weird looks. He then says, "Why ask me?"

"You are part of this group and so far the only one who seems to have no fucked up motives to fuck me up either metaphorically or literally," Angela responds, "So I may not like the conclusion, but you can at least give out decent reasons why it may not."

Daniel shrugs, "It would be too complicated due to cultural backgrounds. Physical differences which may be a hurdle to get over with. And wanting children would not be possible. And topped off social stigmatism may make the relationship harder than the two working out their personal issues."

Angela actually smiled, which weirded out the other two kids. She then says, "I actually can buy those points." She then says, "I think though a mixed species relationship would be a bit enriching in a sense. Especially if you are curious about different cultures and family upbringing. Finding comfort and closeness without restrictions. I think most people want the same thing as the other. So why be restrictive? Granted, I'll admit, something can be weird physically. But what makes someone of the same species normal when that person also have some physical deformities?"

"I don't think that last part will be a good argument," Jessica grumbles, "It will make you seem detached."

"As if you making a simple argument that morphs are animals makes you sound any less," Eric piped up angrily, still not facing Angela.

"Oooh, defending the ex, despite pouting and looking away from her," Jessica taunts Eric, "Still hoping to tap that?"

Angela snarls at Jessica, "Enough."

"Aww, is fluffy wuffy going on defensive now?" Jessica taunts. She then says in a harsh whisper, "This deadline is coming very fast. And we are still nowhere near done. And it's because of you mainly. If it wasn't for you, this would have been done long ago. But no, Eric wanted to make sure you had your fair share. Huge fluffy ass Angela needs to be part of this fucking group despite she keeps getting herself booted out of school. Mainly for this fucking idiot who seems to white-knight you lately. And for what? I have no fucking clue, since you have no problem throwing him around. You two irritate me, and I am losing my patience. I would have thought that media frenzy would have made you stay home by now..."

"Speaking of the media," Angela snarls at Jessica, "I know you took Eric's note from him. That was for him, and him alone."

Jessica whispers harshly, "Yeah, what you going to do about it, puppy? Obviously your caretaker is all talk and no guts. Eric is still in one piece. She promised to blow his nuts off if she caught him harming you."

Angela look shocked as she says, "She didn't write that."

Eric says uneasily, "She did, Angela. And for your info Jessica, she chased me with a shotgun and nearly blew me to pieces. There's a fence post with pellets in it."

"Bad shot," Jessica mumbles.

"Just lay off of him," Angela snarls, "I swear, you act like he did you wrong. Did he piss in your cornflakes? Or did he grab your friend for a date. You being a lesbian and all."

Jessica quickly got angry, "What the fuck? How dare you make that accusation."

"Your blood rushes whenever Annabel or Jamie walk by," Angela growls, "And I know you been stalking Linda. Whom there seems to be a rivalry between us. I bet it's making you want to lash out at me more in her honor."

"I seen her watch the cheerleading squad on many occasions," Eric admits, "I thought she was just there to support her friends."

"Stay out of this you idiot," Jessica snarls angrily at Eric, nearly hitting him.

Daniel actually starts to laugh, "Ah, I think you hit a nerve Angela. Little miss tight ass is now lashing out."

"Oh, I am sorry, you didn't want that out in the open cause of fear of being treated like a freak," Angela snarls icly at Jessica, "Well, welcome to my world, bitch. And for your info, Linda loves cock."

Jessica just glares angrily at Angela. She then look at the other two boys who was staring at her. She then quickly got up and ran out of the classroom, getting the attention from the others. Eric whispers, "Woah, that was cool."

"No, that was a dirty, low blow," Angela snarls under her breath, "I been saving that for a long time now. I wanted her to come out with it during this project, but not once she did. That's when I realized she's in the closet. Either way, I got sick of her shit just now, so out of anger, I let that slip."

Daniel could not help but chuckle, "Sorry, I know this is bad, but I can't help but find this funny. You turned the tables on her."

"This won't be over with her," Eric warned, "She'll try to get back at us."

"Let her try," Angela snarled, "Till then, what we talked about right now, no one mentions. Maybe if we keep this quiet yet lord this over her head that she may be agreeable to work with."

Jessica storms back into the classroom, her hands balled up in fists as she goes up to Angela. The wolverine got a gut feeling what was about to happen next till Eric got up and got between them. Jessica screams at Eric, "Let me at that bitch, you fucking idiot. I am tired of her shit."

Eric just says uneasily as he knows he can't fight back other than just block her from getting to Angela, "And what? Look as bad as her when she loses her temper? You said it yourself once, if a person got nothing to hide, they wouldn't be riled up so easily. You are putting unwanted attention on yourself. You'll be pressured to explain why."

"Fuck you," Jessica shrills at Eric, then slugs him in the face, actually knocking him onto the ground. The other kids looked shocked at Jessica's violent outburst. Eric slowly gets up as Daniel quickly went up and grabbed Angela's hand, "No, you'll get in trouble again. Let it be."

The teacher then came in, sighing, "I can't leave you guys alone for anything anymore, huh?" He then proceed to sort out the situation.

Angela sitting in the van on her way home, folding her arms as Jenny was chewing her out once more, "Seriously? Puppy, I am glad you didn't hit her. But we need to work on getting you to let things roll off your back."

"She knocked Eric off his feet," Angela says in defense, "Regardless how I want to beat him up, don't mean I don't care about him still."

Jenny actually chuckles, then says, "And people wonder why I like you so much." Angela look confused as Jenny then says, "Just be careful, please."

Angela then says, "OH, Kevin says he'll be over tonight for dinner. Mentioned about bringing long bread over."

"Long bread?" Jenny asked as she continues to drive. She then says, "I guess something to go with the pasta." As she pulled into their driveway, she comments, "Well, seems the crowd is getting smaller."

"Smaller?" Angela asked, "Small enough to not be an annoyance?" She asked, though the sounds of people crowding the van are very clear.

"Nope," Jenny sighs, "But hopefully a sign that they are all going to be going home soon. Seems that you getting back in school was what was on most of the protesters' minds." She then opened the door, speaking loudly, "Okay folks, back off the van a bit. We need to get back into our home." She then walked toward the passenger door as a lot of people asking many random questions about Angela started to yell at her. Mics and cameras were shoved at Jenny as she opened the door and helped the wolverine out. She then grabbed Angela's bag as she guide the nervous wolverine toward their home. A bunch of random questions were yelled toward the two as they walked toward the house. A woman in military uniform and a giant scared looking wolverine heading toward the house.

One person yelled out a question that got Angela's attention, which made her stop and stood straight up as she listened, "Is it true you had an affair with your last caregiver."

Jenny actually tried to pull the wolverine, and not succeeding. Angela snarls angrily, "NO!"

"You stopped for that question, why?" One guy with a camera asked.

"Jerome left on his own," Angela says defensively, standing straight up in hopes to intimidate the crowd, which worked for most. Though her gaze was blankly look straight, though in the direction of the man who asked. She then responds, "Just because he moved on abruptly does not mean there was anything of that nature between us. He was my only family. He found me on that property when we were just kids." She then gives a little snarl on her face at them as she angrily says, "Maybe the question shouldn't be why he left me? But why he felt he had to leave? That lab isn't the greatest place in the world." She then turned around and let Jenny lead her, "After all, I am just some fucking project to them there. Can't have me think for myself. I want to have peace at home, please let me have that tonight." Everyone watched as the two got into the house and closed the door behind them, not one wanted to press their luck after her angry response.

Jenny gives a sigh of relief as she leads Angela to the stairs. Once there, she whispers, "Good response there pup. No one needs to know the full details. Just the gist of it."

"Fuck them," Angela snarls, "No one is going to harm Jerome. He may be gone, but if I can protect him, I will."

"Well, being honest that there was nothing between the two is...well...the truth. And the truth at times is the best defense," Jenny says as she guides the wolverine to her room.

"Despite what I wish, I am not going to lie to myself," Angela sighs, "Not to mention if I do mention a little of it, it will put him on the frying pan." She then smirks at Jenny, "I told you can keep secrets if I need to. I am only openly honest with people I trust." She then gives Jenny a hug. Jenny chuckles and hugs back.

"You are something else at times, Puppy," Jenny chuckles. She then says, "Get comfortable, I gotta start the meal." She then leaves the wolverine alone. Angela sighs and just undresses.

Angela talks to her computer in nothing but earphones and goggles, "Well, today could have been better. Though I wish things would just settle down completely."

A female feline voice responds, "Oh, don't worry about it much. Media, they can't exist unless it's fed with some sort of drama. I bet you that guy probably had a baseless thought pop into his head and decided to toss it out there to see if it bites."

"I am sure that's what happened," a female raccoon voice spoke up in the earphones. "Seriously Angela, you got to not respond to them. At least not out in the public like that. The random questions in public is where they'll try to bait you."

"I like how you sound, Mrs.Sly," Angela chuckles at the laptop.

"Yeah, yeah," the raccoon on the other end chuckles, "And please, my real name is Vivian. Call me Viv."

The other female laughs, then says, "And I am Ming, don't call me Siamese in person."

"But why call yourself Siamese dream then?" Angela asked.

Ming laughs, then purrs, "Cause all the boys chase me. But they can't have me."

"Show off," Vivian grumbles over the mic, "She's a short, skinny, pretty female."

"As if you are not?" Angela asked.

Vivian scoffs, then says, "You can't see me. I am just a big gal."

"Yet you tell us you get laid," Angela smirks.

"Well, I do have to work a bit harder," Vivian says in defense.

Ming chuckles, then says, "She just wants my body."

"It's cute," Vivian says.

"You two can see each other?" Angela asked.

"Yes," Ming laughs, "The camera is on."

Angela freezes in her spot, looking uneasy, "Wait...since when?"

"Since we started this chat," Vivian laughs, "Don't worry, we are morphs."

"Yeah," Ming chuckles, "We won't make fun of you."

Vivian chuckles, then says, "Though you do have cute little nipples for a large girl such as yourself.

"Uh...," Angela look uneasy. She then asked sheepishly, "Are you two...naked?"

"Nope," Vivian chuckles, "We were surprised to see you nude."

"Long day and I wanted to unwind," Angela admits, "I totally forgot that doing a live chat means we'll have video."

"Well, could do this by just audio," Ming chuckled, "But that's okay."

Jenny opens the door and blinks as she look at Angela and the laptop with two females on the screen. She then says, "Hey Puppy, time to come down to dinner. Kevin is downstairs. He helped me set up the meal."

"Wait, you didn't tell me he was here?" Angela looked annoyed.

"I think that's our cue to leave," Vivian chuckles. She then says, "Well ladies, I bid you two well and talk next time."

"Same here, later," Ming chuckles. The chat then ended, blanking the screen before Angela could say anything.

"Sorry puppy," Jenny says seriously, "But you looked stressed out. And Kevin and I needed to talk about some things while you were occupied."

Angela remove her earphones and spun her chair so she was facing Jenny, looking miffed, "Oh, had to sneak in some private time while I wasn't paying attention?"

Jenny didn't like that tone of voice, but says firmly, "We need to talk to you at dinner, so come on down and we'll talk."

Angela snarls, looking hurt, "Fine, I'll be right down." Jenny walks away as Angela sighs, afraid of what the two may have talked about. What happened between her and Kevin was still playing in her mind as she grabbed her cane and started to walk downstairs. As she got near, she can smell the food, and smell Kevin's scent. She smiled a little as she started to feel uncomfortable due to her thoughts about earlier. She ended up shyly heading to the dinner table, both adults already seated and waiting. She gave a nervous smile as she says, "Hi Kevin."

"Hello Puppy," Kevin smiled. He then says, "I see what we talked about earlier left a lasting impression."

Angela lowers her ears, waiting for him or Jenny to say something. But after a moment of silence, she just responds softly, "Yeah."

Jenny just reached over and pet her over her head, "You are highly stressed out lately." The woman says softly, "I wish I could give better, but sadly there's only so much I can give."

"Huh, what?" Angela goes on defensive as she is confused what Jenny is talking about, "You gave me a lot. I mean, I am free from that damn lab. I get to live in a house, and place I can bring friends over. I mean...what more do I want?"

"Privacy for one," Kevin responded, "You were so bent out of shape this morning that you snapped at anything that came up. And even snapped at me."

"Sorry," Angela responded softly, "I was just...stressed."

"Exactly," Kevin says softly, "I didn't tell Jenny exactly what we talked about. But I suggested that maybe if things go well at the end of this school year, we could try seeing about going camping or something."

"I don't know," Angela says softly, trying to find words for what she really wants to say. She then says uneasily, "Don't....sound fun to slum it like we are...broke."

Jenny folds her arms as she says, "We call it training. You should try it. Helps bring new perspective for what you currently have."

Kevin sighs, folding his arms, "Actually, you are not telling us why you don't want to go camping." He then sighs, looking hurt as he says, "I guess I really put a mark on you."

Jenny blinks, only now noticing. She then asked, "What you two talked about that got her all overly cautious?"

"Her thoughts about her own kind," Kevin says softly.

Angela just says quickly in defense, "I don't know much about them. Yet everyone expects me to know them cause I am whatever. And I am so sick of it and it drives me up the wall. I only know what they know, and they sound scary. And after being attacked by one who obviously wanted to breed me I just...feel safer staying far away from them."

Kevin folds his arms, glaring at Angela as he says, "I get it. Though when you were stressing out, you really went off about how much you hate them."

Angela threw her hands up in the air as she says, "I don't know much about them. Okay, I was unfair toward my kind. I am just sick of this coming up. I hate being expected to live, eat, breathe, talk, and function like them when I have no fucking clue how. Can't people accept that?"

"Sadly, no," Jenny responded. She then says, "Look no one is safe from this. No one. I am sure Kevin told you about his issues. Even I get shit like this. Being a majority, being told I have no idea what's it like to being voiceless, poor, all sorts of shit. Just because I am human don't mean I have the world handed to me on a platter. But hey, since this is mostly a human world, it sure comes off that way. And don't get me started about the glass ceilings I get for being a female in general. Or racial issues. Or even about being a blond. Everyone is going to generalize you no matter how much you try to fight it, or ignore it. Best you can do is accept who you are, and show them you are who you are. Don't argue with them, just live the way you always lived. Eventually people around you will start to see you for you and not as some stereotype."

Angela sighs, then mumbles, "Okay, okay." During this time, Kevin decided to serve the food, getting portions all placed on their plates. The wolverine sighs again as she got her fork and started to eat.

Kevin says softly as he picked up his silverware, "Let's eat, ladies. Sorry to bring up this conversation. Just had to be broached someday."

"Meh," Angela responded as she ate her food.

"My lasagna better not be meh," Jenny chuckles, trying to change the subject.

"It's actually good," Angela smiles.

Kevin just smiles as he silently at as the two ladies started to talk about the day again with the media and whatnot. After a while, the food was done and Kevin excused himself from the table. By that time, the sun was going down and most of the people outside was gone. Kevin sat on the couch, getting himself ready for bed. He dressed down till he was only in his boxers when Angela cautiously walked in, "Kevin?"

Kevin smiled as he looked at Angela, "Hey puppy." When he noticed she was nervous to get near, he pat the spot near him, saying, "Oh come on in, silly." Angela smiled as she sat on the couch next to him. He put an arm around her as she leaned in, wasting no time to go for her goal. The rat grumbles, "Hey, hey puppy, not now."

Angela, who's hands were on his crotch, grumbled as she continued to fondle him. She then let go, scooting from him as she says, "Sorry."

Kevin sighs and scooted closer to her, wrapping his arms around her. She sighs as she melts in his arms as he says, "Angela, I am sorry I jostled you today. But you needed to hear that."

"I get it," Angela grumbles, not wanting to talk about.

"Yet you are uneasy around me now," Kevin says softly.

"Do you love me?" Angela asked softly.

Kevin chuckles, "You are changing the subject."

The wolverine pouts, then says, "I don't want to talk about it."

The rat smirks, rubbing her tummy, "Should just say that."

"Then let it drop," Angela snarls angrily.

Kevin let go, folding his arms as he scoot away, "Okay, okay, fine." The room was tensely quiet for a while till he says, "This wasn't a great day for either of us, huh?"

"Nope," Angela responded in a remorseful tone. She then says, "Maybe I am asking too much."

Kevin says seriously, "Angela, maybe it's time you and I talk seriously about you and me."

"Do you love me?" Angela asked again as she turn to face him, looking hopeful.

"I do," Kevin responded honestly, though put his hands up to prevent the wolverine from trying to hug him as he then says seriously, "I love you as a friend though."

Angela looks very hurt and look away, but says softly, "Oh, oh, okay."

"We only known each other for a week or two, and all the sudden we are sharing beds, hanging out, and what not," Kevin says seriously, "Yet when it comes to just us being friends, I think that works well. But as lovers, there's a lot I don't know about you fully yet. But the more I learn, the more I realize maybe this may not work out. There's a lot for you to learn."

Angela started to tear up as she says defensively, "What? No, no, I can learn. I know I am young, but I can learn. Tell me what I am doing wrong. Am I bad in bed?"

"No," Kevin says seriously, "You are actually quite good in bed." They both blushed a little as he continues, "There's more to a relationship than bedroom antics. There's also chemistry between the two on a lot of things. Like personality, focuses, views, life goals, even on how they choose their down time."

"You hate me?" Angela starts to cry a bit.

"No, I don't hate you," Kevin says softly, "I wouldn't risk my neck for you if I didn't care."

Angela just sobs as she asked, "Going to run away cause you care but don't want me?"

Kevin sighs, then hugs her to comfort her, "Oh Puppy, please don't cry."

"I really love you," Angela sobs, "Yet you obviously don't feel the same for me."

"Angela, I promise you I not once was thinking about myself over your well being," Kevin started to sound like he was pleading with her, "I not once used you or tried to do anything you didn't want to."

"I know," Angela sniffed, "I know. I pushed things. I know damn well you were just reaching out to me." The wolverine took her goggles off and started to wipe her eyes, laughing out of the blue, "Now I think about it, you didn't know how to push me back without hurting my feelings."

"Partially," Kevin responded in a sad tone. He then admits, "I was hoping this could work out too." Angela smiled weakly as Kevin continues to hug her, "You are nothing like Linda. And you gave me a reason to look forward to coming to work. Gave me a reason to smile nowadays. I really fell for you the first time we got to talk."

Angela look a little confused, though she started to smile as she asked, "So if you fell for me, why do you think this won't work?"

"I am set in my own ways," Kevin admits, "I have patience enough to coach at school and even coach you about people and life." He then says sadly as he pet his head, "But I don't have patience having to coach my lover and try to get her to step in time with me when all I want to do is be able to just come home and relax."

Angela's ears went flat, says softly, "Oh..." She then asked softly, "Am I frustrating to be around with?"

"Not most of the time," Kevin admits, "There's been times in the past it came close, but normally you catch on quickly and make corrections before I have to say anything." He then says seriously, "But today really showed me you have way too much to learn. And I can't help you if you are set in your ways long before you see how things truly are."

Angela slumps in his hugs, looking very hurt and sad, but not angry. She sighs, "Sorry."

"We all need to vent," Kevin says softly to her, "Please don't let this make you clam up with me." He then says seriously, "I promise you I won't leave you or leave you out to dry. I will be here for you unless you tell me to leave. I want you to succeed. Or at least be happy."

"I just want you," Angela admits softly.

Kevin pets her head, saying softly, "You have me. But probably not in a way you want me." He then says seriously, "I hate to be the jerk to always point out the complexities of life and how unfair it is. But we all can't have exactly what we want. But we can at least appreciate with what little we could get." He then says in an almost begging tone, "I won't' throw you away. Please don't consider throwing me out all because I couldn't give you exactly what you wanted."

Angela sighs, then says softly, "I won't throw you out. I can't, I care for you too much." She then smirks, "You are not Eric."

"Heh, good point," Kevin smirks. He then says seriously, "Honestly Angela, I want to be your parent. A guardian."

The wolverine snorts, then chuckles, "Be weird to call my lover...or ex 'Daddy'." She then turn to face him, looking at him with her hazed eyes, only seeing lights and dark shadows as she asked, "I take it no friends with benefits then?"

"No," the rat responded, "It wouldn't be right. And it will give you false hope that maybe we both be more than that. I can be your confidant, a shoulder to cry on, someone you can even cuddle up to at night in the nude. But no sex. Not till you are able to not fall in love with the person you are having casual sex with. Your heart is too big and open, casual sex is just going to hurt you more than give pleasure."

"Heh, I guess I failed on that regard too," Angela grumbles. She then lean in to give his lips a passionate lick. Then tearfully got up, saying, "Just one last kiss. I'll leave you alone now. I need some time alone. I hope to see you in the morning." She then quickly walks away as she started to sob, not able to hold back her sorrow any longer.

Kevin sighs, not happy he broke her heart. But figured it was best to do it now instead of later. He removed his boxers and sat on the couch nude, looking around the room for a while. After a long moment of silent reflection, he reached to the lamp to try to turn off the lights, only to hear footsteps come toward him from out of the hallway. Jenny comes into view in nothing but a t-shirt and shorts as she blankly look at him. The rat blinks as she came to sit on the other side of the couch. She stare at the blank tv screen as she says seriously, "I overheard everything you said to her."

"I hope that didn't upset you," Kevin responded as he watched her.

"You had a young girl willing to bed you at any giving second," Jenny said seriously. She still look away from him as she says, "Who worshipped the ground you are on. Yet you turned her away, for her well being more than for your own."

"Yes," Kevin says firmly, "I would do it again in a heartbeat, even though I am saddened that I made her cry."

Jenny turned and smiled at him, which made Kevin scoot back a little as he swears she's got adoration plastered all over her face. She then stood up and walked away, saying, "She'll learn, get stronger, and move on. You are welcomed here any time. Have a goodnight, Kevin."

Kevin woke up early in the morning, smiling as he slept well, despite being on the couch. He decided to make breakfast, which woke the others up. Everyone sat and chated typical mundane things, Angela looking a bit better in the morning. They all then got cleaned up, taking turns for the shower, then ready for their respective jobs/school. Jenny got them all in the van and drove them to school. Though once at the school, Jenny hands Kevin a set of keys. Which surprised him. He blinks, "What's this for?"

"In case I am not around and Angela needs a way in the house," Jenny smiles at him, "I am convinced I can trust you to help me look out for her."

Angela overhears and smiles. She then hugs Kevin quickly, "Aww, she's trusting you."

Kevin blushes, then put the keys into his pockets, "What if I decide to just barge in and take up space and your TV?"

Jenny smirks, "You are welcomed to come by anytime. Though if you do come over to only do that every single time, I'll shoot you."

"Gah, don't make those threats," Angela says seriously to Jenny.

"I'll just pellet him," Jenny smirks.

The rat chuckles, then says seriously, "Please don't shoot me."

"I am just teasing," Jenny says. She then says seriously, "Though if you abuse this, I will kick you out."

"I get it, and I won't abuse this," Kevin promised. He then says, "Okay you two, time for us to go to our respective places."

Kevin and Angela got out of the van, walking toward the school as Jenny drove off. Angela asked, "Kevin?"

"Yes Puppy?" Kevin asked.

"Thanks for trying to break this to me nicely last night," Angela says softly, "I...thought about it and can't figure out a nicer way that it could have been done. But you are right, I...probably...fell too easily. Maybe, I don't know. But I do know I want to still be in your life. So I really hope we can stay friends for a long time."

"Aww, same here," Kevin smiles warmly at her. He then says, "We can talk more about this tonight if you like? Sounds like I am officially welcome to come over any time. So I'll come over tonight again. Maybe this time I'll cook."

"Oooh, I want to taste what you make next," Angela says excitedly. She then says, "Okay, I look forward to see you later today. Have a good day." She then skips a little as she heads off to her usual hang out area. Kevin went to his office and locked the door. Once Angela settled at her seat, she started to lose a little of her chipper mood. Despite understanding and bringing herself to accept the relationship laid out between her and Kevin, she still can't help but feel stung inside.
