UH-OH! hope I don't confuse anyone with this chapter, it starts with a dream! Sorry contains no yiff maybe next time! ENJOY!

"They're not here!" Korm heard the assailant say to his companions.

_Â _

"Return to base, the house will be destroyed." A crackly voice form a radio said.

_Â _

"Roger that." Korm heard a click and the sound of a metal object hitting the ground, then, he heard the boots running out of the house. A few seconds later he heard an explosion.

_Â _

BOOM!!

_Â _

Â

"Korm." Niel was standing beside his bed. He thought he had locked the door.

"Korm, the Director and Emu have requested you at Emu's lab, apparently there is an ‘issue'." Korm threw his legs over the side of the bed, the towel was still wrapped around his waist.

Â

"Ok Niel I'll be a few minutes, I'll just shower and head down." Niel turned and walked from the room and Korm saw that he had indeed locked the door. The Director must have given Niel the access, this must be important.

Â

As he was walking to the shower he threw a meal in the microwave, and grabbed a glass of water. He cranked up the shower turning the hot tap three times, and jumped in. He was only in long enough to get wet, and he didn't worry about soaping up it was just a refresh shower. He got out, used his old towel and threw on the clothes from the previous day. Korm went to the bed and glanced at his clock, the time was 5:30am.

Â

Korm hurried down the corridors to Emu's lab, seeing Niel by the door, and Nameless by the other side. The door was open when he arrived which was odd, and he could hear the Director speaking to Emu.

Â

"So what does this mean for the Project?" The Director had an even voice, he sounded like the kind of person that, if he was whispering, you knew he was anger.

Â

"It will set the Project back by at least a year. The artificial ageing has been halted, we can still download the DIDM's to her brain, but, the systems that control the ageing technology have been damage and are unstable. I didn't think this could happen, it never happened in human cloning. We could also have problems controlling the mass inside the tanks, the subject may not absorb it all, then again her body may try to over absorb and end up having too much fluid contained in her cells, which would result in a catastrophic failure. My recommendation would be to abandon the project and restart once we have fixed our systems."

Â

The Director brought his hand up and rubbed both his eyes, at this point Korm was inside the room with a disappointed look on his face.

Â

"But couldn't we grow the subject to the second phase and utilise her no matter her age?" Korm wanted this one to work, he was sure that she would be viable for the test phases of the development program at least.

"Fine, get back to me as soon as it reaches phase two, continue the information download, we may have another solution to the age problem in the other Labs." He sighed, and walked out, Korm was watching him go until the door shut and blocked his view.

Â

"So Emu, what the hell happened? Didn't we check all the systems before starting? And how in the hell would our age control systems stop working?" He was already anxious enough as his dreams were predicting trouble again, and he really didn't want to genetically sequence another project until Mythos was done.

Â

"It appears, according to the system logs, that our network had a glitch in it that may have been caused by the monitoring program being open in 3 places at once. Two of the connections had adjustment rights for the project so ‘options' could be changed remotely. It was either your computer, or the Directors, or so the logs tell me."

Â

Emu was staring at a computer screen while talking, trawling through thousands of lines of text from the log files. Korm went to the synth tank and stared into the recently developed eyes of his ‘daughter'. She was at the age where she could move and interact but, her eyes and the ends of her fingers and toes were still slightly transparent. She had black eyes like all babies, they would only get their colour after a few hours of being exposed to natural light. He was running over the events of his latest dream in his mind when he remembered something.

Â

"Emu, I shut down my computer before I came here. And only I can start it up." While saying this he had turned to face her, she was standing as well with a shocked look on her face.

Â

"Our network has been breached from outside! They came in through ENCRYPTED phone lines! We have to tell the Director and get everything backed up, checked and traced, NOW!" Emu rushed out of the Lab, telling Niel to follow her. Korm ran out the door and headed for his Lab, Nameless followed him.

Â

The emulation programs would continue to run while they were backing everything up, and the second module that Emu had inserted would be automatically downloaded. He had to take his computers off the network as this was the access point that the outsiders were using.

Â

He Heard the running footsteps of Nameless behind him as he skidded into his Lab. Nameless stopped outside and assumed his guard stance. Korm ran to the back of his computer and pulled out the Crossover cable that went to his second computer, and then ripped the wireless receivers and routers out of the power boards, and removed the phone lines in the process. He put the devices on his desk, wiped his forehead and turned to leave.

Â

As he did his door opened, and Nameless was standing facing him, with a stun pistol in his hand, Blonde, close cropped hair topped a professional face, a face that had brown eyes.

Â

"We require your assistance." The man pulled the trigger and Korm was thrown head first into a nightmare.

Â

Â

Korm braced his shoulder on the hatch and heaved, the door began to open slowly and his female companion walked over to help, as soon as she added her enhanced strength it flung open.

_Â _

"OH MY GOD!" Korm looked about the house, it was gone.

_Â _

There was burnt furniture remains and charred books laying around, as well as the bare roots of walls and small pools of glass that had been melted by the sheer heat of the attack.

"They must have used a Plasma Charge MX-84, SHIT! I can't believe they found us." Korm kicked a pile of still warm ash with his combat boots. While in the bunker they had dressed and grabbed their weapons. Their daughter was still inside the concealed bunker, safe and hidden. It was time for Mum and Dad to find a new hideout and possible kick some ass along the way.
