The Pit of Depression - medium poem
This poem is another vent poem I wrote a while ago. I had just been dumped by an ex because my depression was so bad. Trying to meet new people was extremely hard for me then, so this poem describes my anxiety of meeting people while depressed. This poem was written in 2015.
Written by me, Fane Star.
I'm alone when you're gone
Alone when you're around
Darkness surrounds me
Yet it does not taint your vision of me.
All I think, hear, and see
Is the pit inside my heart.
The pit that surrounds me
The pit that controls my being.
I basked in the temporary relief
Your love and presence gave me
Soon the dark will spread
Into your heart, your eyes, your mind.
Tainting your love for me.
Your vision of me.
Surrounding us.
I'll be here to catch you
When you fall into this void.
When the lonely darkness overwhelms you.
It'll take all you think hear and see.
It'll become the pit surrounding you
The pit that claims all.
