#25 of Personal Work

Finally got time to write for myself~. Wrote a little snippet of something from my own life and figured what'd happen if our 'little' noodle friend had to deal with the situation. I love life moments like these, usually big fuzzies make the moment a heck of a lot cuter in my opinion.

On certain days, Thunder never realized how much of an annoyance water was in his life until it started to actively hinder him. Most, if not all creatures needed water in some way or shape to survive alongside food and a healthy environment. If the green furred dragon had to eliminate one thing from his life without bodily consequence, it was probably water. Part of him wished that he'd bothered to look at the forecast today. He then cursed himself shortly after the weather took a deep turn for the worse. The whiskered dragon had decided to dress light due to the slowly increasing heat, but didn't have anything he considered well enough for the nexus of cold wind and hot sun that constantly bathed the city.

As such, a black hoodie with jeans and boots seemed like the best idea at the time. For someone of his size, clothing was a very big necessity, so the muscled dragon always made sure to order things a few sizes large to accommodate any sudden changes or mishaps that came from his daily life. Being part plant meant that most things, like water or sun, affected him much differently, so he wanted to dress to prepare for those things. When he emerged from the train station, the eastern dragon felt something poke the base of his wooden snout. He looked up in the sky to find dark clouds looming overhead. Maybe he'd get home before it started raining. All he needed to do was wait for the bus. It wouldn't be that bad, right?

Once he left the station, Thunder quickly put on his hood after neatly stuffing his hair on the inside and putting his horns through the designated holes he cut out for them and made his way across the street to the bus stop. He noted a small crowd waiting along the pole for the bus stop and his heart sank a bit. It wasn't even raining, and the buses were running late?

"Fantastic..." Thunder grumbled. The street light finally let him pass, and with each step, he felt a drop of rain hit his exposed green hands at a speedy rate. By the time got to the top, it'd already started to drizzle. He made his way behind the small crowd, some of them already muttering and opening their umbrellas. At this moment, Thunder cursed his default enormousness. At eight feet, he towered over the average umbrella carrier and was forced to see several umbrellas open up, unable to ask anyone to share space since he'd take it all up. He could only hope his hoodie could keep back the water.

"Um, excuse me, sir?" Thunder rumbled. He poked at the top of someone's umbrella.

The fox underneath turned his umbrella to the side to see the large dragon smiling and waving down at him nervously.

"How long have you been waiting for the bus? Don't exactly have a way to cover myself, so...." Thunder expressed hesitantly.

"Bout twenty minutes, man. I swear, few frigging drops and everything goes mad. I mean look at the traffic down there." The vulpine nudged his thumb down the avenue.

The block was slowly piling up with car after car beeping wildly. It was like a herd of animals trying to get past one another and making as loud of a sound as possible to get the other to move out of the way. Thunder resisted groaning on the spot as he leaned near the pole of the bus stop. The rain started to pick up shortly afterwards.

The patter of rain quickly coated his hoodie and every bit of clothing. Thunder frowned as his jacket became soaked within minutes. The water began to seep through the fabric of his hood and jeans, his tree trunk thick tail swishing about to try and keep dry. Once the water started making contact with his body, everything went south. Thunder always liked to jokingly compare himself to a cactus whenever it started to rain or he showered too long. He'd retain water and any excess would make him all oversized and puffy, except in a much more attractive way, thanks to his plant hybrid self. As the rain continued, his body remained static. Nothing seemed to happen until what he dubbed 'the fifteen minute mark' occurred.

Thunder's frame began to groan and slowly peak with pound after pound of muscle and size. To anyone that stared directly at the towering eastern dragon, they wouldn't notice much, as the process was very dependent on the amount of water he was exposed to. But as luck would have it, the rain began to pick up yet again and became nothing short of a downpour. Thunder let loose a deep growl that emanated from his slowly rising chest. He didn't seem to catch the attention of anyone else near him, so he was grateful for that. He kept his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, silently hoping the bus would arrive around the corner at any second, but no such luck.

Thunder's arms and shoulders were the first to show signs of excess size to the average eye. His soaked hoodie began to bulge, his thick forearms and biceps slowly making the fabric stretch upward while his shoulders became wider and wider, forcing the sleeves to expand and drench him with more water retained in the fabric. With every annoyed breath, his torso swelled upward and outward, the front of his jacket finally showing the indent of his slowly building pectorals. He'd ordered this hoodie as a custom and made sure it was two sizes above his own. The water and his growth made the poor thing a very tight fit close to ten minutes later.

"Come on..." Thunder growled audibly this time. He tapped his boot along a small puddle on the ground incessantly. His boots were the only one withstanding the slowly growing amounts of dragon. As his feet grew alongside the rest of him, he still had a bit of toe space in the front of his boots, but the gaining width of his green stompers proved to be a bit too much for them. His jeans fared no less as they clung to his legs despite being baggy. His quads bulged and flexed, showing the most definition and size among the rest of the dragon as he swelled bigger and larger. He gained very few inches in height, but continued to become wider.

Thunder's growls traveled through the air as his hoodie soon became tauter along his skin. It more looked like it was painted on as it hugged every inch of his top heavy torso. His chest bulged and flared, making the fabric creak and strain along with his arms and shoulders. Each bit of muscle added onto him even made his abdomen slightly stand out as the hoodie soon began to ride up along his frame. Even the tiniest flex of his biceps threatened to ruin the sleeves of his jacket, the sleeves of his shirt underneath long since torn. His traps poked and tensed along the collar of the hoodie, stretching it out further due to his absurdly hulking neck. He continued thumping his foot on the ground, the weight behind his tonnage soon showing with every powerful stomp that gently shook the ground. He must have weighted near a ton already, and the bus was close to being 40 minutes late. The crowd of people only grew larger as he stood among them like a tree among grass. The various people with umbrellas scattered themselves away from the looming whiskered beast the more audible his growls and grunts were.

The same fox from before hadn't turned around, but he seemed to muster up the courage to speak to the guy after so long.

"Hey man, are you....okay?" The fox started as he turned around to look up at the dragon. The fox's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of the tank-like behemoth behind him. When he asked how long the bus was going to take, he didn't take much in about the guy's appearance. He just looked really tall and had baggy clothing. But now, he was a freaking monster! Green muscles bulged and tensed from every bit of his body since he was soaked from the rain. He seemed way too big to be real; everyone else seemed to acknowledge the same thing and kept a good foot or two away from him. The question seemed to die in the vulpine's throat as he finally got a look at the hooded dragon's face. He was grinding his teeth together, his muzzle in a perpetual snarl. It didn't take long for the fox to turn around and remain quiet, lest he pissed the big guy off since he could hear and feel the tapping of his boots. If he didn't know any better, it looked like he was going to hulk out if he got any madder.

By some miracle, for both Thunder and the fearful fox, the bus finally arrived! The bus itself was barely full of people, much to the joy of the crowd.

"Finally!" Thunder cried out. His deep voice made some shrink in fear or run away entirely on the spot so they wouldn't have to go on the bus with him.

Once the bus rolled up, the crowd clamored to be the one to get inside first. Either they wanted a seat, or they shared the sentiment of wanting to get as far away from Thunder as possible. At this point, Thunder didn't care, nor could he blame them. Once the bus doors hissed open, the crowd flooded inside to take their seats. Once Thunder made his way over inside, he found himself bumping his head with the ceiling of the bus. He let out a yelp of pain as he rubbed his forehead. He looked at the bus, then down at himself. The entrance sat near the middle of his chest than just barely brushing his horns.

"...Crap." Thunder muttered. He hadn't noticed that he'd gotten taller as well. The rain still poured down on him, which wasn't making things any better. The bus driver had his eyes locked on the beast outside with a gaping mouth.

"Um...I don't think you can fit inside, sir." The bus driver said with a hint of hesitation.

"Never say never. I ain't walking back home like this," Thunder rumbled. The dragon slowly bent himself downward and turned to his side. The bus door brushed up against his massive back and jutting pectorals as he nudged himself inside bit by bit. The bus itself leaned and creaked under his enormous weight. The bus driver and the passengers bore a look of fear. Would the vehicle be able to stand his bulk and still be able to travel? The answer soon arrived as the 13 foot dragon popped his way inside, shoulders hunched together as much as possible with his head craned down to maximize the minimal amount of space he had. Soon after, Thunder started the challenge of actually paying for his fare. He kept his wallet in the pocket of his hoodie, but the size increase came with an issue. He fumbled with his wallet, his fingers now double their size and girth, and he was forced to use his claws to flick out his card to pay the bus driver.

"Sorry," Thunder mumbled. After paying his fare, he gently walked along the aisles of seats, most of them filled with people already or too tight for him to fit. He was forced to sit in the back of the bus where he had more space to exist in. Thunder considered himself lucky to find a cluster of several seats to sit himself down, the opposite side filled with people that were forced to move for him to sit with no issue. Normally, Thunder would have taken up two seats, but now he covered at least three or four with his massive rear and quads with his tail taking up the rest of the free seats next to him. With his hood still up, he nervously waved and smiled at the other passengers who either yelped or went to go sit somewhere else on the bus. Thunder let out a small sigh.

This was going to be a long trip home.
